7 Effective ways to control premature ejaculation

Posted: 08 Jun 2020 12:30 AM PDT

Premature ejaculation (PE) is when ejaculation happens sooner than a man or his partner would like, during sex. It may not be a reason for worry but it can be incredibly frustrating if it makes sex less enjoyable and impacts relationships.

Ejaculation can be called 'premature' if it happens less than 2 minutes into having penetrative sex.

But, the official times for what's classed as 'premature' ejaculation can change between different countries, cultures, and healthcare experts. Still, most experts agree that if sex lasts less than 2 minutes, and ejaculation occurs, then it can be called a premature ejaculation.

There are two types of premature ejaculation:

  • primary premature ejaculation – where you have always had the problem
  • secondary premature ejaculation (or "acquired premature ejaculation") – where you recently developed the problem

The causes of primary premature ejaculation are often psychological, such as having a traumatic sexual experience at an early age. Secondary premature ejaculation can be caused by both psychological and physical factors. Physical causes can include drinking too much alcohol and inflammation of the prostate.

However, hope is not lost because there are several ways one can delay ejaculation and improve the quality of their sex life.

Here are 7 techniques you can try right away!

The squeeze technique
  • You or your partner masturbates you and stops before you ejaculate
  • They then squeeze the head of your penis for 10-20 seconds
  • They let go of your penis for 30 seconds and then resume masturbation
  • Repeat this process several times before ejaculation is allowed to happen
The stop-go technique
  • Similar to the squeeze technique
  • Your partner doesn't squeeze your penis though
  • When you have built your confidence about delaying ejaculation, you can have sex, stopping and starting as needed
Condoms
Condoms may decrease penis sensitivity, which can help delay ejaculation. There are 'Climax control' condoms available in most pharmacies which contain numbing agents such as benzocaine or lidocaine or are made of thicker latex in order to delay ejaculation.

Topical Anesthetics
Anesthetic creams and sprays that contain a numbing agent, such as benzocaine, lidocaine or prilocaine, are sometimes used to treat premature ejaculation. These products are applied to the penis 10 to 15 minutes before sex to reduce sensation and help delay ejaculation.

Counselling
This approach involves talking with a mental health provider about your relationships and past experiences which may have inadvertently affected your sex life. Therapy sessions can help you reduce performance anxiety and find better ways of coping with stress. Counseling is most likely to help when it's used in combination with drug therapy.

Premature ejaculation can cause partners to feel less connected or hurt so talking about the problem is very important.

Pelvic Floor exercises
Strengthening your pelvic muscles is one of the most effective ways to prevent the onset of premature ejaculation. The pelvic muscles, which support and help control the penis, have the ability to short circuit premature ejaculation when they are actively engaged immediately before ejaculation is allowed to occur.

For most men these muscles are weak and get weaker with age, increasing the likelihood of premature ejaculation.

Pelvic floor exercises such as kegel exercises strengthen the pubococcygeus (PC) muscle, which contracts during orgasm; a well-toned muscle means better control. (To locate the muscle: When you urinate, tense up and interrupt the flow; what you're clenching is the PC muscle.) It is recommended that you do several sets of Kegels every day.

The 'down tempo' method
This technique requires you to slow the pace of pelvic thrusting and varying the angle and depth of penetration before the "point of no return." When done in conjunction with engaging your pelvic muscles this approach becomes very effective.

Reno Omokri lashes out at Africans for celebrating Western culture more than theirs

Posted: 08 Jun 2020 12:00 AM PDT

Reno Omokri has lashed out at Africans for "denigrating their own culture" and celebrating Western culture disguised as Christian culture.

In tweets he shared, the former Presidential spokesperson stated that the reason Africans believe African masquerade is evil but Santa Claus is good is because they are racists to themselves.

Reno Omokri who wondered where Santa Claus or White Wedding was recorded in the Bible, stated that Africans swallowed what colonialists sold them as Christianity.

He tweeted;

Dear African, The reason you believe an African masquerade is evil, but Santa Claus is good, and think a White Wedding is holy, but your traditional wedding is just a formality, (both are traditional), is because you are racist against yourself!

You denigrate your own culture and celebrate Western culture disguised and Christian culture. Where in Scripture have you seen Santa Claus or White Wedding? Meanwhile, your African traditional wedding (exchange of gifts and drinks) is in Scripture

Africans just swallow what colonialists sold them as Christianity. Why is your African masquerade evil but Santa Claus is good? Where do you see Santa Claus in Scripture? Rearrange Santa. You get satan. Rearrange Claus. You get Lucas. @Google Lucas

Why cut off your single friends just because you got married?

Posted: 07 Jun 2020 11:30 PM PDT

When it comes to marriage culture, there seems to be a lot of things that require change. Instant change, as a matter of fact.

Is it really necessary to abandon your single friends once you get married?

Acquired habits, such as overspending has been spoken against repeatedly. Of course, it is one thing to speak against something; whether or not any form of social change is being effected by that condemnation is another thing.

While we wait for more people to come to accept the sensible option of having wedding ceremonies tailored to their financial capabilities, we might as well begin to tackle another marriage-related issue.

Apparently, it is a thing for married women to cut off their single friends once they become hitched.

Two or more women could be besties for such a long time, sharing secrets, going out together, living their best lives, creating memories and building a memorable friendship out of those moments shared. As soon as one of them gets married, it is not unusual for the married one to cut off her friendship with the single woman.

Some people believe that this often happens due to a paranoia on the part of the married woman, that one of those friends may want to take her man from her, that they are jealous of her or in other cases, because there'll no longer be a common ground for them to operate on. It is also believed in some quarters that married women who dump their friends do it because upon marriage, their priorities change and would no longer be the same with that of their unmarried friends.

Obviously, these are reasons that are not rooted in any form of sound principle. A little rattling and everything comes tumbling down.

For example, the idea that a married woman would rather make friends with only married women because single friends would contrive to steal her man seems to ignore the reality that men who want to cheat will do so with any woman they set their eyes on; married or not. And also, if a friend is bent on 'taking' your man from you, her marital status may really not count for much.

The idea that priorities of women change when they get married actually sounds kinda right. If it is considered from the angle of having to worry about kids and becoming more responsible for little ones who depend heavily on them, yes it makes sense.

But the idea is also used sometimes knock down single women, especially those who are 30 and above, who are pursuing their best lives without an obsessive desire to get married. It is not uncommon for our society to view such women as being less 'responsible' than women who have married and 'settled down.'

The problem with this is that it is a harmful generalization that trivializes [and in some cases, completely disregards] the responsible choices that single women make out here day after day. That none of those decisions revolves around men and getting married does not make them less important.

I could go on and on discrediting the reasons often cited in support of this married woman prejudice, but what's more important at this point is to mention that when married women continually ostracize their single friends for no other reason than their marital status, it is another passive form of pressuring people to date and marry.

When single people are cut out of friendships and meant to feel like outsiders in their own inner circle, it is another obvious manifestation of how our society and its agents of socialization condition people to view marriage as an elevated form of existence, one that places you on a different pedestal of respectability, over and above people who may not feel like doing so in the nearest future – or ever at all.

Without digressing too far, I should add that I think there is nothing wrong with people drifting apart over the years due to obvious and genuine differences in schedules, lifestyle and distance. That is an accepted part of life. To also cut off people who have shown shady characters and less-than-acceptable behaviours is nothing to raise eyebrows over.

But to intentionally and maliciously move away from your friends for no other reason than their marital status and a sudden, unfounded suspicion of their intentions towards you, is neither necessary, nor sensible.

RapeIssue: Oluwo advises FG to legalise stun guns for women

Posted: 07 Jun 2020 10:30 PM PDT

Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi has urged the Federal Government to allow women to use stun guns and pepper spray to protect themselves against rapists.

Oluwo who was accused of rape by his ex-wife, Chanel Chin urged rape victims to speak up without being ashamed.

In the past week, social media was awash with conversations about rape as Nigerians called out alleged rapists and also called on the government to fish out the culprits of rape incidents reported during the week.

Two undergraduates, Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, a student of the University of Benin and Barakat Bello, a student of Institute of Agriculture, Research and Training, Ibadan were raped and murdered last week.

Reacting to the recent rape incidents, Oluwo in a statement signed by his media, Alli Ibrahim asked the government "to consider the legalisation of the use of stun guns and pepper spray by females as protective items."

The monarch said, "Many ladies were raped and killed. I've strong trust that the items, when approved for females will protect them against such an unjust treatment and return sanctity to our society.

"By that, the constitutional provision is a long term punishment while pepper spray and stun gun are short term defence measures. The defence instruments could form part of females' accessories in their handbags and purses.

"The spate of recurrences is unassuming. It must be checkmated through further constitutional legislations to invite sanity to our society and respect the dignity of Nigerian females.

"There are training sessions available overseas even in South Africa for females to learn how to use it in warding off attackers. Rapists are coward animals and not human. The trauma of their victims is an eternal curse of no remedy. Raped victims are no doubt mentally disturbed and emotionally imbalanced. When done with mutual consent and agreement, the two enjoin and enjoy in merriment."

Oluwo who was accused of rape by his ex-wife, Chanel Chin in April urged rape victims to speak up without being ashamed.

He also enjoined lawmakers to come up with stricter legislation to protect the pride of Nigerian females and approve the use of defence items.

Footballer, Ighalo reveals how he suffered racial attack in China

Posted: 07 Jun 2020 04:30 AM PDT

Manchester United striker, Odion Ighalo, has revealed that he was called "all sorts of names" by an opposition player while playing in China.

Speaking with Sky Sports, Ighalo further said he would walk off the pitch if he is racially abused again in his career.

According to the 30-year-old who is on loan from Shanghai Shenhua, he reported the abuse to the Chinese FA, but no action was taken.

Ighalo, who called for "justice to be done" following George Floyd's death in the US, has said he would be ready to take further action should he be subjected to racist abuse while playing.

"If it happens to me I would report it to the referee and see what they do, but if they don't take action about it then I'm going to walk off because it should not be done to any player or anyone in the world.

"In one game in China I got called all sorts of names and after the game, I didn't shake his hand. I walked straight into the dressing room, I was angry, I reported it to the FA," he said.

Pastor Chris Okotie rejects guidelines for re-opening worship centres says ‘My church will remain closed’

Posted: 07 Jun 2020 04:00 AM PDT

Chris Okotie, founder of the Household of God Church, has rejected the guidelines issued by the Lagos state government for the reopening of worship centres, TheCable reports.

The Lagos state government, on Thursday, announced that religious activities will resume in two weeks.

While Muslims will return to mosques on June 19, Christian worship would begin on June 21.

Some guidelines were also announced by the state government to facilitate the reopening of worship centres and to curb the spread of COVID-19.

They include the compulsory use of face masks; restriction of people below the age of 15 and above 65 years from services, while gatherings should not exceed one hour.

But in a statement, Okotie rejected the guidelines, saying the "fulfilment of the Bible prophecy" against the church is already being played out and that rearranging the church's mode of worship is "to deny God the divine prerogative of congregational adoration"

Citing how Dagon, the god of the Philistines, was destroyed in the Bible, he said the coronavirus will be annihilated in like manner.

He, however, said while his church awaits the defeat of the virus, its doors will remain closed until "these profanation and secularization have been pulverized by the Emperor of heaven."

"Beloved, yesterday, the abomination of desolation took a giant step towards standing in the holy place. Fulfillment of bible prophecy is being accelerated by the forces of Janes and Jambres," he said.

"To reorder temple worship is to deny God the divine prerogative of congregational adoration and the holy genuflects of the saints in light. Let no man's heart be troubled by the vengeance of satanic antagonism.

"Dagon the god of the philistines fell in obeisance before the Ark of God. Coronavirus, the god of Secular Humanism will be decapitated in like manner.

"Our doors will remain closed until these profanation and secularization have been pulverized by the Emperor of heaven. Unto him shall the gathering of the people be. To thy tents O Israel."

The clergyman had earlier criticised the proposed guidelines offered by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to the federal government, saying they were "unbiblical".

According to CAN, the guidelines, in accordance with the government's efforts to tackle the COVID-19, would determine the operations of churches when they reopen.

Stephanie Linus – I Saw Myself Becoming Big Even Before I Started Acting

Posted: 07 Jun 2020 03:30 AM PDT

Actress Stephanie Linus has definitely paid her dues. Her road to success was not paved with gold but with determination to succeed against the odds, she has found love and happiness.

From surviving an abusive marriage to the success of her film, Dry, Stephanie has established herself as a bankable actress in Nollywood. In this chat, she talks about her career, and new project, Hygiene First.\

What inspired Hygiene First?

We use this phrase 'cleanliness is next to godliness' often, but I don't see it reflected enough in our society. In fact, we have ignored the importance of hygiene when it really should be the epicenter of national discussions. Some of us have traveled to other countries, and we notice how much attention they pay to keep their environment beautiful and clean. The case is different here because we are not putting in enough work to ensure that things are better. I feel frustrated ignoring some basic things that have huge impacts on our health, especially during this pandemic. So, I felt there is a need to awaken our consciousness to daily habits that matter to our hygiene. As a student of environmental studies, this is an important mission for me that will hopefully serve a lot of Nigerians as well. I decided to champion this course because I believe the change we want can only start with us. We all have a role to play in making the entire country a lot cleaner and habitable.

We have a culture of poor waste disposal. How do you think this new initiative can create a paradigm shift?

We realised that 'education' is a unique way to communicate our mission to people. In Nigeria, we take things for granted because it hasn't occurred to us yet to do things the better way. We are nonchalant and everyone is guilty of it. With adequate awareness and enlightenment, people will pay more attention and adjust their habits to disposing their wastes properly, especially since it concerns personal health and wellbeing. We will have a structured and informative programme that helps people see how important hygiene is and show them why they need to take responsibility for their communities.

Recently, you were spotted with Ketil Karlsen, the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria amid rumours that both of you were working on a big project. Could you share that with us?

We were discussing some matters of mutual interest and I can't share anything about it at the moment. When the time is right, I'll make a comment.

Since you released Dry, we've not heard anything new from you. Is there any new movie project on the front burner?

Of course, there are some movie projects in the pipelines. I'm working on a project centered around human trafficking. Another one is a historical piece on the role women have played in this country, and the third is a romantic comedy. I'm not the kind of person to rush. I put in a lot of work into my projects and I'll be sure to let you know more about them at an appropriate time.

What sets Dry apart from other films?

Dry is a timeless piece. As a filmmaker, I choose to tell stories that will stand the test of time, with messages that would resonate from generation to generation. Dry is centered around a mission to eradicate fistula and improve the maternal health care system we have in Africa. And because of the positive change this movie seeks to bring to the world, it will always make an impact and find its relevance.

When you starred in Emotional Crack back in the day, did you see yourself ever becoming this big?

I've had lots of daring visions on positively impacting my world even before I started acting. It really hasn't been all about me. With God's blessings and strength have I been able to come this far. He lays the dreams on my heart, puts me in the right places and gives me the strength to work towards them.

Last year, you were inducted into the Blacks in Cinema Hall of Fame. What does this mean to you?

It feels very heartwarming that a movie from Africa was selected to be among the films that have shaped black cinema, especially in the United States. This was a great honour, which proved to me the importance of being outstanding in anything you choose to do. I'm glad that the movie, Dry has opened many doors of opportunities. It shows me that a lot can be done with just one film. I'm yet to do more; I haven't even finished exploring.

What is your advice for youngsters who want to take after you?

Be yourself. Hold on to your dreams, have a focus and be determined. Enjoy and be content at every stage of your life, but don't lose focus on your journey even when you get confused. The journey might be blurry, but your sheer determination and faith in God will definitely see you through.

Majek Fashek's Ex-bandmate, McRoy says Majek dabbled into Spiritism and it affected him Terribly

Posted: 07 Jun 2020 02:30 AM PDT

Only a few people knew the late music icon Majek Fashek better than his cousin and former band mate Amos McRoy, who is now a pastor at Seed of Abraham International Christian Centre.

As cousins, McCoy and Majek started their music careers together and were part of the group called Jastix along with Black Rice who was the lead singer. One of the main gigs of the band was to play at music show 'Music Panorama' which aired on NTA Benin – a gig facilitated by Orits Wiliki. When the Jastix disbanded, McRoy and Majek focused on their solo careers but also remained very close.

In a 2013 interview by Musa Jibril for the defunct Entertainment Express newspaper, McRoy gave a detailed revelation of the mysterious fall of Majek who at that time had already hit rock bottom and how his adventure into Spiritism affected his craft and person.

Spiritism

"Many people think Majek's problem is drug-related. Truth is Majek's problem is spiritual. Majek strayed into spiritism. Once, while on stage, Majek said, 'Oh, Fela is my boy. Bob Marley is my boy'. "He made that statement during a Rothmans Show at Tafawa Balewa Square and Dede Mabiaku, Fela's protégé, went berserk. It took the intervention of Eddie Lawani to calm him. Dede didn't quite understand what Majek was talking about. He was taking it from the physical sense, whereas Majek was talking spiritual. "Majek went into spiritism at a lightning speed – like jumping from kindergarten straight to the university. Without a linking bridge, he was not properly schooled. So he couldn't keep the rules. "Majek totally 'crossed the line' after the release of Prisoner of Conscience. Those days, we were sharing the same duplex at Anthony Village. I would see the Guru Maharaji people come to visit him. The same Guru Maharaji we all know, just starting out at the time. The Hare Krishna people also came. I thought 'oh, this guy is popular, that's why they are coming to him for one favour or another'. I didn't know that it was deeper than that."

Success of Send Down the Rain

"Majek released his album in April 1988. I released mine a year after. We were under the same management. We rehearsed at the same place, using the same band as back up. One day, we were coming from rehearsal; he was driving his Peugeot 505 car. One of our backup singers, Monica Omorodion (who now lives in the US), said 'Bros Amos, why is your record not making waves like Majek's, or The Mandators, or Kimono?' Majek looked at me in the rear mirror and said, 'Don't mind Amos. He doesn't want to ask me the road I passed to become a star. He thinks it is good record that makes someone a star'. When he made that statement, I gave him a knock from behind. 'My friend shut up there! What are you doing that I am not doing?' I said. He switched to Benin language. 'This is not the Majek you grew up with', he said. Still I did not understand. "It took me 10 years to connect the dots. Not until we went to Cote d'Ivoire in 1998 that Majek told me certain things, that I became aware, in hindsight that 'Okay, that is what my brother was talking about back then'. "The song 'Send Down The Rain' had a spiritual force behind it. That was one of the things he told me in Cote d'Ivoire. Based on what he told me, I think he 'crossed the line' before he released the album. "In Cote d'Ivoire, I asked him certain questions. His reply was: 'Amos, are you that naive? I released Send Down The Rain, everywhere that song was played, rain must fall. Even in summer while we were on US tour, I played Send Down The Rain and rain fell. I released Free Mandela and that month Mandela was released. I did fire (Majek Beware) the week that record was released was the week the Rodney King incident happened. That song, Fire o! Fire o! was played for almost two months in all the TV and radio stations in Los Angeles during that Rodney King episode. So, are you that naive? Don't you reason? "He started mentioning spiritual books. Then he told me: 'You don't know, I have got to the level of de Lawrence'. That was when I understood from which perspective he was talking when he said Fela and Bob Marley are his boys." "While we were growing up in the church, we were competing spiritually by fasting. There were three of us – myself, Majek and Friday Omagbon, who is now late. If Majek fasted for three days, Friday and I would go for seven days dry fasting. That was how we grew up. We were competing spiritually. "Once in a while, God revealed things to him which he shared with us. And those things came to pass as they were revealed to him. If he had not gone into music, he would most definitely become a minister of God. If you listen to most of his songs, like Holy Spirit, or Righteousness Take Over The Earth, he was more or less a gospel artiste."

Weird manifestations

"I started noticing weird manifestations in him at about 1991-2. We had a show at Eko Le'Meriden Hotel in Victo- ria Island, Lagos. To my surprise my brother came on stage fully dressed in a native doctor's attire instead of his regular outfit. By that time, we were not living together anymore. "Majek's problem is not drug-related. He took to alcoholism to get over his real problem. Failing to keep the rules of whatever he delved into, he started to hallucinate. He started seeing things. "For instance, if he was in a room, he would tell you 'open the door, open the window'. If you tell him the air condition is on, he would say 'Can't you see them spirits; you want to trap the spirits. Men, let the spirits move around'. "He felt he could stop seeing those things by getting drunk. Till date, he has not been able to liberate himself from those spirits. Before we went to Cote d'Ivoire, we had few shows here – First at Waterparks in Ikeja, then at MUSON Centre on Lagos Island, thereafter, the eastern part of the country. By then Majek's behaviour had become erratic. He would come on stage, unzipped his fly and started saying 'Let me show you my d**k. I used to f**k American P***y'.

'He broke the rules'

"The event we went for in Cote d'Ivoire was like Nigeria's Festac 77. Black artistes from all over the world were there for one week at the Félix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan. The Marley family came, so was every big reggae artiste. "I was determined not to let him disgrace himself the way he had been doing lately in Nigeria. We got to our hotel and after allocating rooms, I stayed with him in his suite. As soon as he called room service and ordered for a bottle of brandy, I would pick the intercom immediately and cancel the order. We would begin to quarrel. For three days, I gave him close marking. He couldn't drink alcohol. I forced him to eat. "On the third night, around 2 a.m., while we were watching a movie in his suite, he looked at me and shook his head. He said: 'Amos I envy you, men'. I said 'What do you mean? How can you envy me, you are the star'. He said: 'You won't understand. Just hold on to Christ, the way you are, he would reward you at last.' "I started probing him. One of the questions I asked was: "All these reports about you reading the Seven Books of Moses, are you really reading them? His reply: "Seven Books of Moses? Those are kindergarten books'. He started mentioning books that I have never heard of in my life. He mentioned names too. That was how he came up with the line that he is getting to the level of de Lawrence. He told me many things. He told me he couldn't keep the rules. He broke the rules. But he failed to tell me what the rules were. "It was in Lagos he mixed up with the wrong crowd, but his case worsened in the US. The circle he fell into in America complicated his problem, especially when he met a promoter called Paul (surname withheld). "When he was signed on to Interscope Records, they brought in the producer of U2 to work on his album. That man also spiritually influenced him negatively. Those two guys were steep in spiritism. There is no difference in spiritism here in Nigeria and over there in America. The devil is the same everywhere. "This is the irony: once Majek gets on stage, the spirit steps aside for him to perform; once he finished performing, the spirit comes back to start the torment.

Nnamdi Kanu reacts as Miyetti Allah declares Fulani will rule Nigeria forever

Posted: 07 Jun 2020 02:00 AM PDT

Kanu said that his group, the IPOB, had for years warned, screamed and worked tirelessly to let the whole world know what is happening now and about to happen but they (Kanu and his followers) were ignored, insulted, spat at and ridiculed.

Abdullahi had in an interview at the weekend also disclosed that his organisation had concluded arrangements to flag-off its own security outfit which would be deployed across the country.

The Fulani leader had said that no one can drive away his people from any part of the country because "They produced Nigeria.

"They produced the first prime minister. If they produced the first president, another president, another president and so on, are they not the owner of the country?

"Fulani are ruling Nigeria and they must continue to rule the country forever. That is the truth."

Reacting, Kanu wrote on Facebook,

"For years IPOB warned, screamed and worked tirelessly hard to let the whole world understand what is happening and about to happen but I was ignored, insulted, spat at and ridiculed.

"This is what happens when cowards are in charge of your mainstream media and half-educated dimwitted buffoons see themselves as intellectuals."

Burna Boy speaks against rape, racism around the world

Posted: 07 Jun 2020 01:30 AM PDT

Singer Burna Boy has called for justice for victims of police brutality and also rape across the world.

The singer stated this as the world took to social media with the hashtag #blacktuesday.

Uwaila Omozuwa, a 100 level student of Microbiology at the University of Benin was raped and bashed with a fire extinguisher in the head leading to her death.

This sparked outraged from Nigerians who demanded justice for the lady and others of her kind.

Lending his voice, Burna Boy wrote: "Rape and racial injustice are crimes against humanity, they are vicious, insidious and violent acts that no human should commit or commend.

"The stance on rape should be linear and final, there should be no grey areas, no "buts", only that the perpetrator(s) of the act is to blame and the victim completely blameless.

"From now on, men and women alike need to be educated. Men need to be taught the concept of consent, we need to teach them empathy and compassion. We need to teach men that a woman's body is hers and hers alone. We need to end stigmatisation and victimization of rape victims, it must STOP.

"Black people deserve and require more than we're currently getting! I implore you all to get involved, no contribution is too small, no platform is too small #nojusticenopeace #justiceforgeorgefloyd #justiceforuwa #stoprapeculture #justicefortina #stoppolicebrutality #blackouttuesday"

In a joint statement released by his manager Estee Portnoy, the basketball legend said that over the next 10 years, he and his brand will donate $100 million to "organizations dedicated to ensuring racial equality, social justice and greater access to education."

"Jordan Brand is more than one man. It has always been a family," the statement begins. "We represent a proud family that has overcome obstacles, fought against discrimination in communities worldwide and that works every day to erase the stain of racism and the damage of injustice."

It continues, "The will, the work, the excellence the world has come to know is the result of one generation after another, pouring their dreams into the next. It's 2020, and our family now includes anyone who aspires to our way of life. Yet as much as things have changed, the worst remains the same."

"Black lives matter. This isn't a controversial statement. Until the ingrained racism that allows our country's institutions to fail is completely eradicated, we will remain committed to protecting and improving the lives of Black people," they share.
