Mind Blowing 10KM Traffic Jam That Trapped Thousands Of Vehicles  In China

Below are photos as shared by a Chinese news site Sina of an earth shaken 10 kilometers traffic jam that got thousands of vehicles stuck in China as holiday-goers try to return home

The incredible gridlock took place at the end of China's seven-day national holiday to celebrate Lunar New Year.

As a tropical destination, Hainan Island was hugely popular among tourists who were looking for sunshine.

In the space of seven days, around five million people swarmed to the island which is roughly the size of Belgium.

But when they were trying to return home, they found themselves trapped on the island due to foggy weather as boats could only operate periodically.

Huge queues of vehicles were spotted outside of the islands Xiuying Port, Xinhai Port and Nangang Port from the evening of February 19 and by midnight, over 10,000 vehicles had been stuck.

As a result of the traffic jam, the price of the flight tickets out of Hainan to major Chinese cities soared up by some 20 times.
It's said that after the ferry re-opened on the morning of February 20, 30 boats shuttled between the strait to transport nearly 7,000 vehicles over in 4.5 hours. It took another 24 hours to clear the queue.

The worst traffic jam ever in China took place in 2010 where motorists were caught up in a 60-mile tailback which lasted for more than 10days on the Beijing-Tibet Expressway due to roadworks.

How Federal Government & Boko Haram Negotiated Ceasefire, Release Of Militants - Lawal Daura Reveals

Posted: 26 Feb 2018 03:42 PM PST

How Federal Government & Boko Haram Negotiated Ceasefire, Release Of Militants - Lawal Daura Reveals.

Today Lawal Daura, the Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS),  disclosed some details of how the Nigerian government went into negotiation with Boko Haram for the release of abducted oil explorers and policewomen.

It could be recalled that the police officers were kidnapped on the 20th, of June, 2017 while on transit from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, to Askira Uba local government area to attend a burial ceremony.

In the same vein the lecturers who were part of a team of geophysicists exploring for oil in the Lake Chad Basin, on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, instructions were also abducted by the insurgents on the same day as the police women.

The abductees were eventually released on the 10th of February, 2018. Both parties were received at the Aso Rock Villa by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday.
Mr. Lawal Daura, while addressing the president and the abductees, identified Jummai Ibrahim as the victim who was serving as a youth corps member at the time of her abduction.

He also added that she could have finished her National Service and passed out at the end of the last batch in 2017.

He equally stated that other female abductees are Esther Kwasina, Amina Gomdiya, Gloria Bulus, Paulina Amos and Tani Audu, a final year student at the University of Maiduguri.

The DSS boss later gave details of how the negotiation happened. He did not however state the terms which were finally agreed upon before the abducted officials were released.

See his address below:

"Mr. President, the search and negotiations for the rescue of the victims commenced in earnest following your directives to the effect that all abducted persons must be found and rescued alive," Mr. Daura said.

"However, we chose the path of negotiation because it was considered as the safest because any forceful attempt to rescue the victims could endanger their lives.

"These negotiations took several months and the Department of State Services with support of the external elements of the group in diaspora and support from friendly countries and liaising with International Committee of the Red Cross, made the rescue possible," he said.

Mr. Daura also said the process of the rescue slowed due to the problem of dealing with two different groups based in different locations at the same time.

"In addition, the negotiations took place mostly outside the country, though subsequently finalised in the theatre of operations.

"The negotiations were mainly centered on an attempt at conflict mitigation which include the fate of arrested members of the insurgent groups especially, accepting to free by government those found not to be culpable in any criminal action.

"Also, possible cessation of hostilities especially the attacks with IEDs on innocent civilians, worship centres, schools and other public places in return for temporary stoppage of air strikes by helicopter gunships.

"Lastly, the negotiation was also centered on the possibility of granting amnesty to those willing to surrender and ready to lay down their arms by the federal government," he said.

A geophysics lecturer, Solomon Yusuf, spoke at the event on behalf of the released abductees.

"While we were in captivity and we said with 180 million or more Nigerians, will Nigeria ever come to rescue us? We lost hope! Sir, you surprised us. After seven months for us in the university and eight months for the 10 ladies, Nigeria rescued us. This shows that the life of every Nigerian is important and is worth rescuing.

"Sir, we are grateful. You gave us hope when there was no hope And we are excited, we thank you Sir, Mr. Yusuf said.

"We also want to appreciate the DSS, the Nigerian armed forces, and the entire team that worked together to make sure we regained our freedom. We appreciate the labour of love they have shown to us.

"We also want to appreciate Nigerians for praying. We were informed that the entire nation was praying for us and we were excited and we said, 'Oh God what is this?' This is love. Sir, we are grateful.

"Sir, from the university, it is a golden opportunity for us to see you and to share our fears and concern because we were abducted while working for the nation. And right now going back home to us is still a nightmare because of our experiences.

"Sir we have this golden plea with all due respect. Sir, if there is an opportunity for us to be relocated and maybe given another job, Sir, this is our golden request. This is the only opportunity we have to share with you. But we appreciate everything done, the sacrifice you have given to us. Thank you Sir."

Stop Your Crocodile Tears, PDP Tells FG, APC Over Dapchi Abduction

Stop Your Crocodile Tears, PDP Tells FG, APC Over Dapchi Abduction

According to a report by the Tribune, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday urged the Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop shedding crocodile tears over the abducted schoolgirls in Dapchi, Yobe State and provide answers to urgent questions surrounding the abduction.

See the statement below from the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan:

It said: "Nigerians have been in shock over revelations by the Yobe State governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, that the abduction was preceded by withdrawal of troops around Dapchi, thereby rendering the area defenceless and paving the way for insurgents to attack and abduct our girls.

"We challenge the Presidency to come out clean on issues surrounding this abduction. Who authorized the said withdrawal of troops from the area and for what purpose? What were alternative security measures put in place to protect the people after the troops were withdrawn? Who controls security intelligence gathering and consequential protection action and what action was taken to guarantee adequate security in the area?

"Furthermore, we charge the Federal Government to open up on who scripted and released the false rescue report which frustrated prompt action that would have led to the recovery of our innocent girls? Why was that misleading report issued and whose interest did it serve?

"Indeed, from all indications, every right thinking Nigerian has deduced that there are more than meet the eyes in this ugly episode for which those in authority have a lot of questions to answer.

"We invite the world to note that after exposing the community to harm and frustrating prompt rescue, the incompetent APC-controlled Federal Government has not taken any concrete step to give the abductors the desired chase to recover our girls.

"Rather, they sent a delegation of persons with no knowledge of security to Dapchi on fact-finding missions.

"The PDP and indeed all well-meaning Nigerians are appalled by the crocodile tears being shed by the incompetent and deceptive APC-Federal Government instead of scaling up actions on the matter.

"It is on this note that we call on our security agencies to stand up to the challenge and do their professional best to ensure the safe return of our girls."

The PDP joined in prayers with parents of our girls, the entire Dapchi community and "all victims of mindless atrocities against Nigerians under the incompetent and deceptive APC-led Federal Government even as we collectively seek a solution at this trying time."

Woman Murder Husband After S*x In Kaduna For Impregnating Her Friend

A woman in Zaria pictured above, a house wife has been reportedly murdered her husband for impregnating her best friend. Trouble started when the woman in question got the wind that her husband had been sleeping with her best friend and got her impregnated.

Then on the 15th of February 2018, her husband returned from work as usual and she  pretended as if she was not yet aware of the secret relationship.

She served her husband dinner as usual and made sure they made love that night. Later in the night, when the husband had dozed off, she brought out a container containing the acid she had bought earlier from one Kabir a battery charger and kept it under their bed; poured it on the man's naked genital organ.

The man was eventually rushed to a nearby hospital by neighbors but the hospital rejected him and referred him to Federal Medical Center, Zaria, where he eventually gave up the ghost on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.

The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed the incident and disclosed that the woman is in custody and she will be charged to court for murder as soon as investigation is concluded.

See what the woman said when asked, why she decided to kill the husband:

"I love my husband so much, I was not intended to kill him. It was so painful to me that he got my best friend pregnant and he could not tell me, I knew about it from outsiders.
