A Senior Military Officer Of South African National Defence Force, Dismissed Over Social Media Comment

A South African military officer has been dismissed from the army following a racial comment he made on social media

The South African military officer, Major MV Mohlala, has been sent out from  the service over racial comments he made on Facebook. 

Mohlala had left a vile comment in a post shared by the son of an 80-year-old white man, Pastor Braam van Wyk, who was attacked at his home in Randburg on March 10th.

In response to the post, Mohlala commented that worse things should have been done to the man.

''Should actually have poked out his eyes and tongue so that the last people he would ever see, were the killers and he could go to his grave with the nightmare." Apartheid is in him. All of these old white people think we are stupid when they say they were opposed to apartheid. We will not forget what they have done. Now it is the white people's turn." Mohlala wrote

Following his trial and deliberation by the military authority on the matter, he has been finally dismissed from service.

It could be recalled that in March, 2018, a group called FF Plus reported the South African National Defence Force, to the Equality Court for hate speech.

 On the 29th of March, 2018, one  Dr Pieter Groenewald wrote via his Facebook page:

 The FF Plus has decided to report Major M.V. Mohlala of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) to the Equality Court for hate speech after the SANDF only gave him a light rap on the knuckles for statements he made on social media.

 Mohlala who is stationed at the Wonderboom Military Base in Pretoria said, amongst other things, the following after the murder on Professor Cobus Naudé (76): "It is your turn now, white people… [he] should have had his eyes and tongue cut out so that the faces of his attackers would be the last thing he sees …"

 The FF Plus considers such statements hate speech. This is very serious, particularly because of the fact that Mohlala is a member of the SANDF and soldiers cannot make political statements seeing as their integrity must be above reproach so that they can protect and defend all people in South Africa without bias.

 In light of the Vicki Momberg case, the FF Plus will make very sure that Major Mohlala is held to the same standard. Racism, irrespective of the nature thereof or your race, is unacceptable and must be condemned as such.

 If an example was made of Momberg, then an example must also be made of Mohlala so as to make the message to the community, and particularly to the members of the SANDF, loud and clear: they must always remain apolitical and unbiased.

 It is not only Mohlala's statements that leave a blemish on the name of the SANDF, but also how the matter was handled as they merely reprimanded him. It creates the impression that it is acceptable for members of the SANDF, in this case a senior officer, to make such hate-filled statements.

Nigerian Young Man, Kenneth Ononeze Okwor Graduates From Harvard

A young Nigerian man under 30, Kenneth Ononeze Okwor has graduated from the prestigious Harvard Law School. 


Kenneth Ononeze Okwor is a first class graduate of Law and became a lecturer 

of Corporate Law and Practice at 24 at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus in 2016.

Kenneth who is a native of  Nsukka, of Enugu state - has just obtained a Masters Degree (LLM) Harvard Law School, today along with his colleagues in the Harvard Class of 2018 convocation.


Ononeze who graduated with a Second Class (Upper Division) in Law from the University of Jos (UNIJOS), where he made distinctions in Commercial Law, International Law and the Law of Evidence - also bagged a First class degree from the Nigerian Law School. 

In the Nigerian Law School, Kenneth created academic records after he was named the winner of ten prestigious awards.

Brazilian Prisoner Who Dug 230ft Long Tunnel Under His Cell's Toilet, Died Minutes He Returned To His Cell

Today the death of a Brazilian murderer who died following suffocating in a 230ft-long escape tunnel he dug himself from his prison cell toilet was reported.

The prisoner identified as Judson Cunha Evangelista, 26, had spent months carving the tunnel, and had managed to dig all the way past the perimeter wall of the jail in Boa Vista, northern Brazil.

However, shortly before he was able to dig himself out, he is believed to have suffered an acute lack of oxygen, and despite making it back to his cell, he died shortly after.

Dailymail.co.uk reported that the  officers were shocked as they discovered a hole which began underneath the toilet in Evangelista's cell in Wing 7 of the Monte Cristo penitentiary, the largest prison in Brazil's northern most state of Roraima.

The Brother Of Lady Killed By Her Boyfriend In Lagos Speaks, Shares Photos Of The Deceased

The brother of the lady recently killed by her boyfriend in Oshodi, Lagos and stuffed her body in a bucket - has spoken for the first time after the tragic incident. The suspect named Isaiah Chukwu was reportedly to have killed his 26-year-old girlfriend, identified as Joy Ozoemena, over alleged infidelity at their residence on Balogun Street, Oshodi and stuffed her corpse into a bin.

It was reported that Chukwu and Joy, both indigenes of Ebonyi State, had been living together without formalising their relationship. He was arrested by some youths on the faithful day as he dragged the deceased body around 4am to the ground floor of their house en route to a dust bin, obviously to dispose her there.


When you watch the video of his arrest, and as he was beaten, you could hear him say, he was taken the body to the mortuary. How could that have been possible? The guy need to be severely interrogated, even his claim of infidelity could just be a make up.  

However the brother of the deceased has taken to Facebook to mourn her loss.

WITH TEARS DRIPPING DOWN MY CHEEKS , I TYPE THIS:

My hands keep swaying and fretting since yesterday evening each time I tried to articulate my thoughts on this. I can't just get my words . Since yesterday pictures and videos have been circulating the internet about a young man who murdered his "girlfriend". She was no longer a girlfriend as her BRIDE PRICE WAS JUST PAID LAST MONTH AND OZOEMENA JUST RETURNED TO LAGOS WITH THE GUY. The deceased lady was my sister from Umuayom , Umuobeye , Nkalaha in Ishielu local goverment area of Ebonyi State where we were both born and brought up .


The last post she made on Facebook was on the 16th of this month with her username , Nina Joy-Seraph. The first child of her parents. . The last time I travelled to the village , I did asked her mother about her and she said she was fine .

My peace has eluded me . I cannot articulate my thought . For a certain lady who is busy peddling the rumour that the deceased (Oz) wrecked the guy financially and wanted to jilt him , I need to tell you that Oz's bride price was paid recently and she was brutality killed by the guy for what from every indication was for ritual purpose .. Pray neither you nor your sisters will be a victim of this kind of horror . I can recall how this girl went with her poor mother to work on people's farms to make ends meet.

She had her secondary education at the only secondary school in our village . Her mother had lost so many children before her birth , hence the name Ozoemena which means let another one not happen ,given to her .How will I get over this ? This cannibalism ............ I feel like writing on materialism and human absurdism , I feel like attacking certain greedy and desperate cowards called men who make ladies their sacrificial lambs but I cannot get my words.......Oz, Rest in peace...

This Nkalaha blood which also flows through my veins that was shed like that of a ceremonial ram must not go unavanged ......Good Night ...my blood .........

Blame OBJ For Appointing ‘crackhead’ Fani-kayode Into Cabinet - Festus Keyamo

Festus Keyamo whom President Buhari recently appointed as spokesperson for his re-election campaign, has joined the war of words between President Muhammadu Buhari and Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo which started on Tuesday this week over Obasanjo's supposed $16billion-power-project investments.

At a public meeting with his campaign team, President Buhari suggested Obasanjo spent that much on power projects without anything to show for it. But Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode — whom Obasanjo appointed as Special Assistant on Public Affairs, later Culture and Tourism Minister, and finally Aviation Minister — responded on Wednesday by saying the former President made a mistake by not jailing Buhari when there was sufficient evidence to do so.

"The greatest mistake that President Obasanjo made was not to prosecute and jail President Buhari for looting PTF funds," Fani-Kayode said. 
"I saw the report and it was shocking. Billions of dollars had vanished. Obasanjo summoned him and showed him the damning report. Buhari begged like a baby. Sadly Obasanjo let him off the hook."

 Now, according to SaharaReporters, Festus Kenyamo, has fired back calling FFK a crackhead:

"The real greatest mistake that OBJ made as President was the appointment of some crackhead into his cabinet with the hope they would stop sniffing the stuff," Keyamo tweeted on Wednesday evening. "Apparently, that didn't work, hence years later they're still on the stuff and recalling things about PMB that never happened."

The Chinese billionaire in his key note speech expressed his fears about educational systems in the world and advised that it has to be changed because machines will do what we currently teach better.

The Alibaba Group Holding executive chairman Jack Ma Yun made this disclosure while accepting an honorary degree conferred on him at the University of Hong Kong.

Donald Trump Has Been Barred By Court From Blocking Twitter Users For Their Political Beliefs

A New York judge has ruled that the US President, Donald Trump must not block Twitter users from his social media account based on their political views. 

The district judge Naomi Reice told the US President that blocking access to his Twitter account would be a violation of the right to free speech.

Mr Trump's @RealDonaldTrumpplatform has become an integral and controversial part of his presidency that he uses to announce policy and verbally attack critics, with over 52 million Twitter followers on the handle.

The ruling of the judge states that comments on the US leader's account, and those of other government officials, were public forums, and that blocking Twitter users for their views violated their right to free speech under the First Amendment of Constitution.

Eugene Volokh, a University of California Los Angeles School of Law professor who specialises in First Amendment issues, said the decision's effect would reach beyond Mr Trump.
"It would end up applying to a wide range of government officials throughout the country," he said.

Mr Trump's legal representative from the U.S. Department of Justice, said: "We respectfully disagree with the court's decision and are considering our next steps."

However Twitter Inc, which is not a party to the lawsuit, declined to comment on the ruling.

The ruling was in response to a First Amendment lawsuit filed against Mr Trump in July by the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University and several Twitter users.

The individual plaintiffs in the lawsuit include Philip Cohen, a sociology professor at the University of Maryland; Holly Figueroa, described in the complaint as a political organizer and songwriter in Washington state; and Brandon Neely, a Texas police officer.

According to the diasporareporters Mr Cohen, who was blocked from Trump's account last June after posting an image of the president with words "Corrupt Incompetent Authoritarian," said he was "delighted" with Wednesday's decision.

"This increases my faith in the system a little," he said.

Novelists Stephen King and Anne Rice, comedian Rosie O'Donnell, model Chrissy Teigen, actress Marina Sirtis and the military veterans political action committee VoteVets.org are among the others who have said on Twitter that Mr Trump blocked them.

The judge rejected the argument by Justice Department lawyers that Trump's own First Amendment rights allowed him to block people with whom he did not wish to interact.

"While we must recognise, and are sensitive to, the president's personal First Amendment rights, he cannot exercise those rights in a way that infringes the corresponding First Amendment rights of those who have criticized him," Buchwald said.

She said Mr Trump could "mute" users, meaning he would not see their tweets while they could still respond to his, without violating their free speech rights.
