FIFA Has Released Slogans Of World Cup For The Super Eagles, And Other Teams

The world football governing body FIFA have released the slogans for all the 32 teams that will participate at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria who will compete in Group D along with two- time world champions Argentina, Croatia and debutants, Iceland have the 'Wings of African Pride' as their slogan for the competition.

The slogan for Argentina, who will be led by Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi, who will be hoping to win his first major title with the Albiceleste in Russia is 'Together for a Dream'.

For Croatia, it is 'Small country, big dreams', while for Iceland, it is 'Let's make our dream come true'.

Gernot Rohr's men will take on Croatia in their opening fixture in
Russia on June 16 in Kaliningrad.

"My Mother Went To The Grave With 90 Per Cent Of My Secrets" – Chioma Akpotha Reveals

Chioma Akpotha, Nollywood actress, always remembers May 22 of every year as a day she had  set aside to celebrate the life of her mother who passed on about five years ago.

The popular actress in a chat recently told Saturday Beats that she was so close to her mother as the first daughter that her mother went to her grave with 90 per cent of her secrets.

The highly principled Nollywood actress whose eyes were filled with tears as she spoke, recalled the way her left-handed mother used to deal with her whenever she do something wrong, but despite all the slaps and beatings she received, it never affected the love she had for her mother.

See what she said: 

"It has been five years that my mother has died and till date, I still miss everything about her. Being the first daughter, she was my best friend but whenever I misbehaved, she hardly used a cane on me, instead, she would use her hand, slippers, pestle, among other things. She was left handed but I always forgot that aspect whenever she was beating me, so there were times that I would expect the slap on the right cheek and would have guarded the right side of my face only for the slap to land on the left side. I miss her a lot. My mother went to her grave with about 90 per cent of my secret and that is how close I was to my mother. She was practically my backbone. When I had my first son, my mother stayed with us for about a year. Although she had a restaurant at the time, she abandoned it to look after my child and would accompany me to the various movie sets I had to attend. She was running her business from the movie location. I miss everything about her. There is a saying that Igbo people have which states, 'the day you lose your mother is the day you lose your God. Her death has thrown me into the open but I believe she is now an angel who watches over me from up above and she is fighting for me," she said.

The Nollywood screen goddess disclosed to Saturday Beats that although she was flogged several times by her mother, it was not because she was a stubborn child. She disclosed further that although she joined the Nigerian movie industry as a teenager, she never dared to embrace any vice because of the kind of upbringing her mother gave her.

There is a saying that Igbo people have which states, "the day you lose your mother is the day you lose your God. Her death has thrown me into the open but I believe she is now an angel who watches over me from up above and she is fighting for me," she said.

Linda Ikeji Is Wrong For Getting Pregnant Out Of Wedlock, No S*x Before Marriage - Funto Ibitoye

The news of Linda Ikeji's pregnancy, shook the internet.  She made known her pregnancy news last Sunday. However, it ought to be a good news but she got bashed by people for different reasons. Many people felt disappointed knowing she got pregnant before marriage because she was an advocate of Celibacy, many young girls who looked up to her and practice no s*x before marriage but this singular act of her, was unacceptable by them. Supporting her actions, she said if you finally find someone you love you can have s*x with him. 

Funto Ibitoye @funtoibuoye in a post via her Instagram page felt Linda's reasons was not justifiable, that having s*x before marriage is a sin and shouldn't be acceptable. 

I need to shake a particular table tonight, if not, I won't sleep well… So I heard the gist about Linda Ikeji getting pregnant and all and that's really her business, I mean, in this generation of baby mamas, getting pregnant out of wedlock is now something we celebrate and even buy aso ebi for… But that's not what I'm here to talk about tonight.. 

It's really her life and at the end of it, she'd stand before God not me… But what is burning my soul right now is this her response that I just saw on her page…. So you preach celibacy and millions of people follow you to practice celibacy, then you get pregnant and now come to say you "NEVER said do not have s*x before marriage… 

 Only have sex when you meet someone you love and loves you back." SERIOUSLY? I'm lost here! So I meet someone I love and have s*x, years down the line it doesn't work out, I meet another person I love and loves me back and we have s*x.. 

 Six months later we break up and I meet another person I love and the cycle continues… Is this what celibacy is about what sort of double standard preaching is that? Following a cause only when its convenient… Preaching something and not practising it.. 

 And then I see the comments and I'm SHOCKED at people I expect to know better congratulating her and clapping for her over the rubbish she's saying, leading young girls straight to hell.. I'm so vexed in my spirit right now… Linda Ikeji is not God and God has not changed His laws to suit our generation, FLEEING from sexual immorality hasn't been deleted from the bible and it won't be now that Linda is pregnant! DO NOT HAVE S*X UNTIL MARRIAGE!! S*X SHOULD ONLY HAPPEN IN MARRIAGE!! 

 I don't care how many billions Linda is worth, having billions of money does not equate success in God's kingdom, so if she likes she should buy the entire Banana Island, good for her.. What is wrong is wrong, let's stop celebrating rubbish and nonsense because someone is "successful" and we clap at every rubbish she churns out while an entire generation of young ladies are being led straight to destruction. And if we Christians won't talk about these things, then what's the point of our Christianity.

Presidency Has Confirmed They Have Received The 2018 Budget From The National Assembly

The Presidency has confirmed on Friday evening that the National Assembly has delivered the  2018 Appropriation Bill to the Presidency.


Mr. Ita Enang, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate) confirmed the development to State House Correspondents at about 8.30pm, Friday.

"I have received the budget on behalf of the Presidency. I am transmitting it now," the presidential aide simply said.

Recall that on Thursday,in an interview with State House correspondents after breaking the Ramadan fast with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, had said that the National Assembly would transmit the 2018 Appropriation Bill to President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.

Nollywood Actress Clarion Chukwurah Meets With Femi Adesina In Abuja

Clarion Chukwurah, Nollywood actress, met with Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina, in Aso Rock.

According to media reports, Clarion was said to have been  working behind closed doors on how she would find a solution to the lingering unemployment situation in Nigeria and based on this has decided to pay a visit to the Aso Rock Villa yesterday.


The actress took to her Instagram page to share  photos of herself and Mr. Femi Adeshina with the caption;

Shoremi's Family Disown Daughter On Newspaper For Same S*x Marriage Application

The family of Shoremi in Ogun State has disowned their daughter by name Shalom T. Shoremi on National Newspaper 

for requesting for a special marriage licence at the Federal Marriage Registry on the 22nd of March, 2018, to enable her consummate a same s*x marriage, which was rejected as it is in variance with the Marriage Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.


Shoremi family said that with the publication they are disassociating itself from this move of her and has totally severed relationship with her.

The family also said they have removed  her name from the family inheritance.

Ekiti State Government Commission New Ekiti State High Court Complex

The Ekiti State Government led by Ayodele Fayose has officially Commissioned the newly built Ultra Modern Ekiti State High Court Complex, Ado Ekiti.


The complex was built by Governor Ayodele Fayose administration 2014 - 2018.

Protesters Allegedly Hired At Amnesty Office Captured On Video Fighting Over #500

Some group of protesters were captured on camera yesterday as they fight over money after their organised protest against the Amnesty International.

Watch the video below:


Watching the video suggested a lot of things. They seem to have been hired to picket the office of Amnesty International in Abuja.

Some Nigerian say they were to do the protest because of their stand against the Government. 

 However, fight broke out between their recruiter and the protesters over money settlement, after they have done the protest.

See the woman in this last picture covering her face with the placard she's holding and the young man covering his face with his palm.
