Priest Shot By Herdsmen In Taraba Was Among Catholics That Had A Peaceful Protest Last Week

Deji Adeyanju has made a tweet today claiming  that a Catholic priest who was shot today by Herdsmen during an attack on a seminary in Taraba was among those who took part in the peaceful protest last week calling on President Buhari to act or resign over incessant killings perpetrated by the herdsmen.

See Deji Adeyanju's tweet below:

"The priests just shot in Taraba by Herdsmen were the clergymen that led the last Wednesday Catholic protest calling on president Buhari to act or resign."

According to media reports earlier today that men suspected to be herdsmen have this morning attacked a seminary in Jalingo, Tarara state,  the attack left many of the students injured while a Catholic priest was shot on the leg. Cars parked in the seminar were destroyed during the attack.

The recent development was disclosed via a WhatsApp message by the Director of Caritas Nigeria, an agency of the Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Evaristus Bassey.

Father Bassey wrote:

"Please Frs, pray for us. Our minor seminary in Jalingo has just been attacked by the Fulani, some students are injured, some cars destroyed, two priests beaten and one shot on the leg. They are currently receiving treatment at FMC."

‘Saraki Will Be Jailed When I Become President’ - Omoyele Sowore Declares

Sahara Reporters publisher and presidential aspirant for the 2019 election, Mr Sowore Omoyele says if he wins the Presidential Election, he will send Senate President Bukola Saraki to jail and that Kwara will be "liberated".

Sowore made this disclosure on Friday when he visited Ilorin, Kwara state capital, for a town hall meeting.

Saraki is from Kwara state.

Sowore said the number three citizen had turned himself into a "demigod" in the state.

He told the crowd who received him that he would put an end to the politics of godfatherism in Kwara and Nigeria as a whole if he is voted into power.

The publisher said the country would experience a "revolutionary change" in government by 2019.

"We will ensure that Kwara state is liberated from the hand of political godfather who can't build good roads, schools and infrastructures," he said.

"I remember last year, this was the same political godfather, Bukola Saraki, that seized our money, that was meant for the SaharaReporters Civic Media Lab, and brought it to Kwara state.

"This same Saraki went to the court to stop us and sent thugs to beat us after bragging he has all the Judges in Kwara state in his pocket.

"Let me use this opportunity to tell him that the money he seized from us would be refunded soon and will be paid with interest while he goes to jail."

Sowore in his address further said, the All Progressives Congress (APC) government has failed the nation, hence it "should be kicked out".
According to him, by 2019, "it will no longer be sai Baba but sai Bobo".

"By next year, we are taking back this country from the hands of the old guards and we would ensure we set its feet on the path of progress," he said.

"Then, it will no longer be sai Baba but sai Bobo because the country would not be left again in the hands of untrustworthy elders and leaders who have taken us back.

"We are tired of the old people in all the regions of the country mostly the ones who still think in analogue ways and have noting to offer us."

Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, majority leader of the house of representatives, over the weekend gave his wife Yemisi a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon to celebrate her 50th birthday.


This seem to be another 'ASSURANCE' as the luxury car  the lawmaker presented to his wife carries the plate number 'ASSURANCE'


It could be recalled that few weeks ago, the super star singer and song writer Davido presented a Porsche car valued at N45million to his girlfriend, Chioma, and the car also came with the number plate 'ASSURANCE'.


In a related development, one Mr. Feyi Fawehinmi an online user has slammed the Honourable lawmaker for wearing a jacket made by Gucci, which cost is put at N1.2million.
Feyi also provided details on the cost of the Jacket worn by the Honourable to gift his wife a G-Wagon.
Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila represents Surulere in the lower Chambers of the National Assembly.

Angry youths in Niger State, yesterday, brought down all the political banners in Shiroro Local Government Area in Niger State. 

The angry youths, according to reports, destroyed and burnt all the political banners and bill boards within their reach in the town saying they have not seen any change.

According to media reports, the aggrieved protesters, had been having series of meetings with the commissioner of Youths in the state allegedly concerning light issue but yet no positive result as they discovered that they don't have problems with Abuja Electricity Distribution Company AEDC but the leaders.

The Power Project Fund Of $16bn Was Shared By OBJ Friends - Orji Uzor Kalu States

Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, the former Governor of Abia State, who served as governor between 1999 and 2007 during Obasanjo's administration as president, spoke yesterday on a Channels Television programme, Politics Today, where he accused the Obasanjo's administration of huge corruption during his tenure and  alleged that there was no project done with the $16billion.

Chief Kalu who alleged the former President Olusegun Obasanjo of sharing the $16billion Power Project Fund among his friends, disclosed that no project was executed. He therefore called for probe of Obasanjo's past government.

Kalu said: 

"I know that $16billion is missing. There was no project done with that money. That money was shared among people who are loyal to Obasanjo. And that is statement of fact. The money was shared by Obasanjo's friends; they are the people who shared the money. "It is not only electricity that should be probed; there are many other things that should be probed in terms of probing what any person in government did. There are many other mistakes that that government made.

We had a lot of disagreements. A lot of import licenses were issued to a lot of people who never deserve it. A lot of money were given to many businessmen which are unaccountable by that government. "If Obasanjo's government deserves to be probed, he should be probed.

I don't see anything wrong in probing any government that has taken Nigerian people's money. The money belongs to the people of Nigeria. There was a huge corruption under Obasanjo's government in not only the power sector. I wrote him a letter telling him.

Nigeria people were deceived and national assets were sold without due process." Ruling out the possibility of Obasanjo's coalition upstaging the ruling party in 2019, Kalu said: "I am not afraid it is going to be a threat because Obasanjo always wants to serve himself and not serving the people. Obasanjo is only thinking for himself. He is not thinking about the masses of Nigeria. I know him better than most Nigerians know him."
