Mr. Peter Obi, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Saturday called on Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State to stop making hate speeches that is capable of dividing and destroying the country.Obi said this while reacting to El Rufai's tweet describing him as "a tribal bigot."El-Rufai had in a tweet claimed that Obi supported his (El-Rufai's) arrest by the Department of State Services, DSS in 2014 on the ground that "El-Rufai has no business being in Anambra State as it is not Katsina State."Obi, while answering questions from journalists on the matter at a youth programme in Nnewi, Anambra State on Saturday, expressed shock at the statement from El-Rufai.According to him, he would only pray for El-Rufai and encourage him to concentrate on doing those things that will better lots of Nigerians rather than engage in hate speeches.He said, "This is suggesting that it was what he sat down to think of rather than thinking about how to solve the many problems plaguing the country. "What His Excellency, Gov. Nasir Ahmad El Rufai said about me has been brought to my attention. I believe that as we grow older and are saddled with more responsibilities, we are expected to become circumspect in our thinking and avoid recklessness in our speeches and utterances. "How does the circumstance he referred to relate to bigotry to warrant such a label? "All I do for people like El-Rufai is to pray for them and encourage them to concentrate on doing those things that will better the lots of Nigerians rather than engage in hate speeches that will divide and destroy the country. "At this difficult times in our country, when thousands of our brothers and sisters across ethnic divide are killed all over the country, including innocent citizens in Kaduna state; millions of our children from all the parts of the country are out of school; millions of Nigerian youths from all the parts of the country are without jobs, our pre-occupation, especially among those that are in government should not be making reckless speeches. "What our leaders should be doing today is seeking solutions to the numerous problems of our dear country. "I am aware that during the said election he referred to, security agents merely restricted his movement because he had no business being in Anambra as I would not have been in Kaduna on an election day." A member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, a chieftain of the party in Bauchi State, Alhamdu Shagaya, who is an aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has claimed that his principal worked to ensure the victory of Governor Mohammad Abubakar in the 2015 election.He also stated that President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Abubakar and other candidates of the party will lose 2019 election over the alleged non-conduct of primaries by the APC.Shagaya, in an interview with the Daily Post in Bauchi on Friday, accused the Bauchi governor of betrayal, stressing that, "I'm confident to open up that Dogara, Aminu Tukur and late Senator Ali Wakili apart from us were very instrumental to the emergence of Governor Abubakar as Bauchi State Governor in the 2015 election."However, I have with me documents showing the accord made to us if he wins the governorship."The state assembly aspirant maintained that APC primary election was a fraud due to irregularities, and advised the party to embrace internal democracy or risk being voted out of power in 2019."If the party deliberately failed to entertain complaints brought to it by aggrieved aspirants it will definitely spell doom for the APC. It is a reflection of how PDP lost to it in 2015," he warned. Shagaya blamed the APC national chairman and APC governors responsible for all the party's woes, lamenting that APC aspirants were duped and denied the chance to contest in 2019 as candidates. He warned that President Buhari will not survive the 2019 election, stressing that the APC is being plagued by the lack of justice. The Speaker's aide stated that the President does not care about the plight of APC supporters, stressing that this has culminated in the current crisis rocking the party nationwide, he added. For eight hours last Sunday, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, went through some grill at the Department of State Security Service (DSS) at the behest of some governors and some forces in the party to force him to resign.Oshiomhole, however, stood his ground and rebuffed the pressure mounted on him to resign, PoliticsNGR reports.He told the DSS that he committed no crime and would therefore not resign, no matter the intimidation.Although the APC chairman was caught unawares, he maintained his stand even when DSS officials tried to invoke the name of President Muhammadu Buhari.He pointedly told them that the President was in the know of all that happened during the APC primaries and that it was their collective resolve not to allow imposition of candidates by anybody, no matter his status in the party.It later turned out that some security operatives had plotted Oshiomhole's resignation with about six APC governors. The plot to lay ambush for him was hatched by the affected governors in connivance with some powerful forces who were aggrieved over the outcome of the recent primaries of the APC. The governors are from Southwest, Northcentral, Southeast and Northwest. Four of them are angry with the party for not allowing them to impose their favourites as the party's candidates in their states. One Southwest governor is in sympathy with a fellow Southwest governor for standing by him recently when it mattered most. The Northcentral governor is up in arms with Oshiomhole for insisting on direct primary. There were insinuations that some former APC elements in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gave tacit backing to the plot by the APC governors in order to render the party weak ahead of the presidential campaign beginning from November 18. It was gathered that the plotters knew that the APC national chairman was due for a private visit abroad, hence they opted to seal his fate before the trip. The President was said to have been kept in the dark till the coup was hatched. The plan was to hoodwink Buhari and present him with Oshiomhole's resignation letter to prevent any intervention. A reliable source, who spoke in confidence, said: "Some of the governors behind the ambush had relocated to Abuja ahead of the invitation of Oshiomhole by the DSS. "In fact, one of them told a member of the Election Committee in his state to expect a major news on Sunday. He was quoted to have said 'by Sunday, Oshiomhole is gone and all of you will be put to shame.' "They opted for forcible removal of Oshiomhole to take advantage of the substitution window for candidates. "The two options considered against Oshiomhole were either to get the DSS to arrest or invite him. "Some of the governors actually felt that arresting him on spurious charges of fraud would make greater news and prevent Buhari from intervening like he did in the case with some judges. "Unknown to the plotters, the APC national chairman had travelled to lyamho, his village in Edo State, to spend the weekend before jetting out to meet with his family abroad on Tuesday. "The trip to Edo frustrated the first leg of the plot as it was too late for the DSS operatives involved in the plot to stop him from traveling to Edo State." Another source gave insight into how Oshiomhole received DSS invitation and why he reported to the agency on Sunday. The second source said: "Last Saturday, a call was put to Oshiomhole by a DSS operative in Iyamho with an urgent tone that he should report at the DSS headquarters. But the APC chairman was not moved because he did not commit any crime. "On Sunday, he returned to Abuja and honoured DSS invitation where he was told about a petition against him bothering on fraudulent activities. "For about eight hours, it was a ding dong affair between the DSS interrogators and Oshiomhole over a demand for his resignation letter. "Being an intelligent leader, Oshiomhole pointedly asked for a copy of the petition against him for his response, because he knew he did not engage in any fraud. "No petition was presented to him. He rebuffed all attempts to force him to resign. "While the drama was going on, the governors behind the set up were using some proxies to monitor Oshiomhole's engagement with the DSS. "The Northcentral governor was said to be in his house in Abuja with an official of the party from a state also in the North who they had hoped to appoint as acting chairman. "The governor's impunity in his state was condoned by the party before Oshiomhole took over but now, the governor is being asked to do things in accordance with the APC constitution. "He is also not happy that Oshiomhole is insisting on direct primaries. "His fear is that when his election is due later in 2019, direct primary will not favour him. He was one of the governors who told the public that the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) opted for indirect primaries some months back as against direct primary which was the preferred option." After being adamant for many hours, Oshiomhole was let off the hook by the DSS. He insisted that he would not resign without hearing from the President and they could not provide any evidence that the President knew about their action. On how he left DSS custody, the source said: "In fact, a governor of the APC came to pick him. There was no issue of surety at all. "It was uncertain if the governor was just being benevolent or was one of the plotters. "The governors who were in Abuja had already put a media plan in place to force the NWC to issue a statement that Oshiomhole has resigned. "The governors later realised that the plot had failed as soon as Oshiomhole survived the siege in DSS headquarters. "Curiously, some forces in PDP were also in a hotel trying to know the outcome of the unfolding drama in APC, having been told of the plot by their collaborating governors. Findings, however, confirmed that the President was not aware of either his invitation or the demand for his resignation. A presidency source added: "The President was shocked and angry when Oshiomhole met with him on Monday on his ordeal. He promised to look into the incident. "What the aggrieved governors did not know is that the APC chairman was always briefing the President on the challenges facing the party in some states. So, the President and Oshiomhole are always on the same page. "There was a time one of the governors went to meet with the President and raised some issues. After the governor's narration, the President made a call and gave the phone to the governor, saying: 'The chairman on the line. Speak with him.' "The affected governor was speechless and left the Presidential Villa in shame." Buoyed by the backing of the President, Oshiomhole left the country on Tuesday to meet his family. A party source said: "He had already scheduled his personal trip. He was undaunted. He is not on exile. He has not committed any fraud." They went as far as putting pressure on the British government to close out studios in London, that too failed.They purchased Satlink an Israeli company that provided us satellite services. They did this through a company in the United States. As soon as the company assumed control of Satlink, they terminated our contract. We moved to another supplier and have been with this supplier for 5 years now. One important thing to understand is this, the federal government of Nigeria never successfully shut down any Radio Biafra frequency since inception. That is a fact. They repeatedly tried and repeatedly failed because Almighty Elohim Chukwu Okike Abiama is in control of IPOB and its activities.Our contract expired with our service providers and we stopped the service hence any changes in frequency. We are not aware that Nigerian government moved their beloved Hausa Service to the frequency once occupied by Radio Biafra. Hausa Fulani radio service is meant for Hausa Fulani not Biafra. We have our own Radio Nigeria Hausa Service run by RADIO BIAFRA.Biafra radio and television services has come to stay which this Nigerian Government headed by the Fulani caliphate cabal cannot stop. Ondo State House of Assembly, on Friday, impeached its Speaker, Bamidele Oleyeloogun, and his Deputy, Iroju Ogundeji. Eighteen out of the 26 member House, signed the impeachment notice. Consequently, a new Speaker, Olamide George, from Akure North, was elected, while Abimbola Fajolu, representing IleOluji/Okeigbo Constituency, became his deputy. Addressing reporters at the assembly complex, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Fatai Olotu, alleged that the former leadership was removed as a result of financial impropriety, incompetence and high handedness.The impeachment was effected after a rowdy session where Princess Jumoke Akindele, a one time Speaker, was picked as Acting Speaker, before the emergence of the new leadership. It was learnt that political thugs invaded the Assembly complex and attacked lawmakers and assembly workers during the impeachment process. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the list of governorship candidates for the 2019 election in Rivers State.According to INEC list pasted at its office in Port Harcourt, it recognised the factional All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Tonye Cole, as the party's standard bearer for the forthcoming election, thereby dashing the ambition of the Senator representing Rivers South East senatorial district, Magnus Abe, from aspiring to be governor of the state.Cole has Victor Giadom, the deputy National Secretary of APC, as his running mate in the election.Both Cole and Giadom are products of an indirect primary election and are from the camp of former governor and current Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi.Also shortlisted are Governor Nyesom Wike and Dr (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry as governorship candidate and running mate for the PDP, respectively.Other governorship candidates from other political parties included: Elem Chinweike for Hope Democratic Party (HDP), Joseph Princewill for MPN, Tamunopriala Jumbo for PDC, Ngoye Benebo for UPN, and Kukang Barine for APM. A former aide to Mr. Ayodele Fayose , the immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Lere Olayinka, has written an open letter to Nigeria's Senate President, asking him to forgive the embattled National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole.Below is the full letter as was reported by PoliticsNGR:Dear Senate President, My name is Lere Olayinka, a friend of the Irunmales of Oke Agbonna in Okemesi Ekiti, Ekiti State.I woke up today, to be told by the Irunmales that Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, that Iyamho, Edo man that was boasting up and down that he was going to remove you as Senate President has done Ben Johnson, Carl Levis as well as Usain Bolt and landed in USA just because he was grilled twice by the DSS.I was also told that men of the DSS are still waiting for him to return to Nija. They want to keep questioning him till he vomits what he ate and what he did not eat, even including his intestine. Haba! They want to use his proud eyes to scratch ground (won fe fi oju e gbo le).One of the Irunmales told me in confidence that you are the one he (Oshiomhole) offended. I asked the offence he committed and I was told he dared you, telling you that he will remove you from the position that Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala)gave you.
