Okorocha Opens Up On ‘Leaving’ APC

Posted: 27 Nov 2018 03:46 PM PST

Governor Rochas Okorocha

Rochas Okorocha, the Imo State Governor, on Tuesday declared that he was still a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The Governor, speaking during a media parley in Owerri, the state capital, he said he does not intend leaving the party.

He also stated that his former Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu, who is also a governorship aspirant, and aggrieved aspirants might quit APC to another party to realize their ambitions, Daily Post reports.

Disclosing that he won't stop them from quitting, the Governor stressed that Nwosu and all the aggrieved candidates remained his choices and will get his support under any platform they chose to realise their ambitions.

Okorocha, "What will happen is that while they move to realise their ambition under any other platform, I remain in APC and support them. Such party will have no presidential candidate but will adopt President Muhammadu Buhari as their candidate.

"What we saw in Imo APC was a clear case of injustice and the worst imposition in history. The party members are aggrieved and they will be moving to another party to pursue their ambitions and I am not going to stop them, but we are going to form alliance with whichever party they choose to deliver President Buhari.

"In the 2019 general election, we are going to vote for candidates and not political parties. I am in the best position to assess the candidates and I know that among all the governorship candidates, Nwosu remains the best. I have told Imo people to check the records of those clamouring to govern the state before voting for them.

"What is happening in Imo APC is interesting and strange, a party known for uprightness, justice and fairness as exemplified by President Muhammadu Buhari, has been dented by the actions of the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole for whatever reasons he is yet to disclose.

"I have been trying to manage the situation but I have no moral justification to stop the aggrieved candidates who felt short-changed from realizing their ambitions in any other party but I have not left APC and do not intend to leave APC. But you must realize that in Imo, we don't play party politics but politics of individuals. People did not join APC because of anybody but because of me."

Boko Haram: IPOB Mocks Nigerian Army, Sounds Warning To FG

Posted: 27 Nov 2018 11:21 AM PST

Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has mocked the Nigerian army over recent massacre by the Boko Haram insurgents.

It expressed shock that Nigerian security forces, who according to it, have been receiving random killings from Boko Haram terrorists without retaliation and resistance would be going round the South-East where unarmed civilians are carrying out peaceful rally.

The group however stated that it will continue to press for the liberation of the people of South-East, while commending its members for remaining steadfast to the struggle.

This was contained in a statement made available to DAILY POST today, which read, "We the global family of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) consider it important to commend every IPOB member and our gallant volunteers who made it possible on our last outing with those Biafrans who participated during the last peaceful rally across Biafraland.

"The last peaceful event across Biafraland on Friday proves the total formidability and resoluteness on the side of Biafran citizens towards the efforts and pursuit for Biafra freedom.

"The one and only IPOB ably led by our supreme leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must continue our evangelism and sensitization for Biafra referendum no matter the threats from Nigerian government and her security agencies.

"It is very pathetic and unbelievable to all Nigerians that Nigerian security forces who has been receiving serious and random killings from Boko Haram terrorists operating in the North East of the country without retaliation and resistance would summoned the courage and temerity by going round Biafraland where unarmed civilians were doing peaceful rally with attack which they cannot confront and withstand Boko Haram terrorist.

"It is important we remind Nigeria Government and her security forces that days are coming when they will not come behind IPOB members anywhere around Biafraland.

"During the recent peaceful rally conducted by IPOB leadership worldwide across Biafraland only police in Anambra State attacked our people because governor of Anambra State Chief William Obiano permitted them to do so.

"According to the IPOB intelligence discovery Obiano has once again started to instruct Nigerian security agencies to go after innocent citizens or anybody suspected to be IPOB member, which we all are aware that moved all the security operatives going house to house in search of innocent and unarmed civilians whom they suspect to be IPOB member.

"We wonder why Nigerian government and her security agencies including Gov. Obiano would accuse IPOB members for their missing guns and rifles, if there is any because Nigeria security agencies especially corrupt Nigerian Police has always been feeding the public with crude lies against the innocent people in the country.

"IPOB doesn't move with guns and cannot do so until Biafra sovereignty is restored.

"We are warning Nigeria Government headed by Fulani caliphate including the Nigerian Police to leave IPOB family alone and release those arrested unjustly in the name of arresting IPOB members now it will cause more damage, harm and misery in the remaining deteriorated image they are managing in the police hierarchy.

"IPOB family worldwide will not succumb to any intimidation and blackmail from any corner because Biafra freedom is ordained by Most High God the of Heaven and Earth, therefore it is crystal clear that no man born of a woman can stop Biafra sovereignty.

"We are blaming those Nigerians especially those politicians and their advisers for the woes of Nigeria because they thought that equating peaceful Biafra agitation with terrorist group in the North can solve this agitations for Biafra freedom.

"Our resolve for Biafra independence cannot stop because those who feels that it is good to use attack and brutal force to stop Biafra coming into reality will fail.

"The clueless government and politicians in Nigeria has failed once again to tell Nigerians the simple truth that Biafra agitations today is important to international community and also a global issue because of her effortless sense of style and measures used against IPOB family since 2015."

I Am Happy To Make Increase In Police Salary, Allowance – Buhari

Posted: 27 Nov 2018 10:50 AM PST

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari and the Police hierarchy

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday assured the Nigeria police that his administration will continue to give attention to both their welfare and their operational needs with a view to restoring its lost primacy in the internal security framework of the country.

The President gave the assurance when he granted audience to members of the Nigeria Police Service Commission and the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force at the Presidential Villa.

The visitors were on a "Thank You" visit following Buhari's approval of Rank Salary Structure Adjustment, by which salary, allowances and pension of policemen will be increased.

President Buhari, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, regretted that the inability of the police in their constitutional role as the frontline force in the prevention of crime, had led to military involvement in the maintenance of law and order throughout the country.

He said, "From Taraba to Sokoto, to the South-South, people don't feel secure until they see the military. I am pleased to make the increase in salary and allowances in the hope that it will increase the performance index of the police and strengthen Nigeria's internal security system."

He observed that the more efficient the police is, the more confident the government and citizens will be.

According to him, "The military should be reserved for higher tasks. The police should be able to cope well with the challenges of armed robbery, kidnapping for ransom and such crimes. In every town and village, there is the presence of the police.

"From all these places, they should be able to forward first class intelligence to you on which to act.

"There is a need to amplify the question of more men of the police, especially given the condition we are in – emergency in the North-East, pervasive insecurity and abduction for ransom and banditry in many parts of the country.

"I congratulate you on the success you recorded against criminals taxing people and stopping them from their farms. We are expecting more from you," the President told the police."

Full-time Commissioner in the Nigeria Police Service Commission, Justice Clara Ogunbiyi (rtd), who represented the chairman, Musiliu Smith, had informed the President that the Rank Salary Structure Adjustment would enhance police welfare and morale.

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, also assured that the police would redouble efforts to ensure free, fair and credible elections throughout the country next year.

Speaking with State House correspondents on the forthcoming elections at the end of the meeting, the IGP said, "We are ready; we have gone round the country; we have conducted several bye-elections which obviously prepared us to face the main challenge next.

"I am assuring all Nigerians that we are going to do our best in ensuring that we have a free and credible election next year.

"Obviously, we have the equipment but if we can get more, we will appreciate it."

On the welfare of the Police Force, he said that he was excited with the whole commitment and efforts aimed at improving not only the salary but the training of the Nigeria Police Force.

He also said that he was expecting more dedication and loyalty to government and people of Nigeria from the officers and men of the Nigeria Police.

Also Justice Clara Ogunbiyi said that the welfare of Nigeria Police needed to be enhanced because the idea of security had become critical.

Policemen, she said, should be encouraged as the entire populace will like to see them perform maximally.

She said, "We are here on behalf of the PSC to appreciate the President Muhammadu Buhari for seeing it to enhance the welfare of Nigeria Police.

"To enhance in their emolument generally and to see that things are improved not only in terms of salaries and allowances but also seeing that infrastructure is improved; their working conditions, training expected of the police.

"In our recent retreat; we were in Enugu and we saw that a lot of the training facilities are in deplorable condition.

"We will want to see that our policemen are properly trained; and our police will be able to match up with any police force anywhere in the world.

"This is one the reasons why we think we need to encourage the government to do that and the president is doing same in the right direction,'' she added.

ASO ROCK: Buhari Approves 213 New Broadcasting Licences

Posted: 27 Nov 2018 10:06 AM PST

President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the issuance of operating licences to 213 new public and private broadcasting outfits in the country.

Director-General of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Ishaq Modibbo-Kawu disclosed this on Tuesday in Port Harcourt at the opening of the 71st General Assembly of Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON).

Giving the breakdown, Modibbo-Kawu said that the president approved 147 new FM radio licences; 23 DTT Television licences, three new national radio network licences and two national television licences, Daily Post reports.

He said the commission had also received presidential approval for 16 campus radio stations; 24 community broadcasters and three public organisations FM licences.

The Director-General said that the total of 213 licences were the single largest number of stations ever licensed at any point in Nigerian broadcasting history.

He reiterated the importance of BON as the umbrella body for all the broadcasting outfits in the country.

"Our industry is opening up and the importance of broadcasting will become greater as a contributor to the economic fortunes.

"It is also a platform of moulding the values of national development," he said.

The NBC boss raised concerns over the spiking of hate and dangerous speech, that was freely broadcast on leading television networks.

He said the NBC commissioned a major study of Hate and Dangerous Speech in Nigerian broadcasting, using the 2015 general elections as a case study.

"The Validation Report from that study has been presented in Kano; Enugu and Sokoto.

"We will similarly present the report very soon in Lagos and at a big national gathering of broadcasters and other national institutions in Abuja.

"The NBC has also gathered a lot of experience from elections in Anambra; Ekiti and Osun states," he said.

Modibbo Kawu cautioned that as the country entered the season of heightened political activities, en route the 2019 general elections, NBC would not hesitate to sanction erring stations.

"For us at the NBC, we cannot be responsible for the statements that politicians make.

"It is important to remind the broadcasting outfits in BON, that you would be liable for any violations of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code by the politicians that you broadcast live during political rallies.

"So, it is your responsibility, not just to collect those huge sums politicians are willing to pay; but you must make them remember the liability you carry for decency in what comes out on radio and television.

Nnamdi Kanu Tells Nigerians What To Do, As He Reveals Why ‘Buhari Double’ Is Still In Aso Rock

Posted: 27 Nov 2018 09:01 AM PST

Nnamdi Kanu and President Buhari

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has claimed that a stage play artiste from Sudan, Jubril Aminu Al-Sudani, is still at the Aso Villa impersonating a 'dead' President Muhammadu Buhari, because Nigerians have not staged mass protests to demand for proof of his true identity.

Kanu made the assertion during the weekend in a two-and-half-hour worldwide radio broadcast from Israel.

The IPOB leader said, Nigeria would collapse under the weight of deception going on within the presidency if prompt action is not taken to inaugurate Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo as President and extradite Jubril Aminu to Sudan for what he described as international fraud, Daily Post reports.

In his words: "Jubril is in Aso Rock. The reason he is still there is because we have not come for him. In any reasonable country around the world, the citizens should by now commence a worldwide protest to demand the identity of their president.

"Why is this Sudanese impostor in Aso Rock? Abba Kyari is nowhere to be found (for explanations). They said he went for medical treatment.

"Let's ask Femi Adesina a simple question: 'Presidency show us a video of Buhari in Paris.' Perhaps, they may have a case (if he did) but there is none because Jubril wasn't there. There was no Buhari in Paris.

"There was once a rumour that Obasanjo was dead but he came out and said 'I dey kampe.' Jubril can't do that because he is not Buhari. Nigeria must fall. It is going to collapse under the weight of this fraud and deception of Jubril.

"I am not going to make trouble. I want them to return Jubril from whence he came. We can no longer be part of this fraud."

Kanu, who accused the elite of hatching the idea of a Buhari double, said the plot was based on the desire of the North to hold onto power at all costs.

He continued: "This evil agenda of Jubril was premised on the desire of the Northern to hold onto power at all cost. They know it. Atiku knows it.

"For the records, ex-governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido, told his supporters openly at the PDP presidential primaries that he would defeat 'Buhari' because he cannot speak Fulfulde. Therefore, he is not and cannot be Buhari."

The IPOB leader, who vowed to prove to Donald Trump that he never met with the real President Muhammadu Buhari, argued that there are two features within human anatomy that are unique to each individual and can never be cloned.

The first, he said, was the fingerprints while the next was the outer ears.

While Kanu did not speak on the president's fingerprints, he explained that pre-2017 photographs of President Muhammadu Buhari's left side outer ear had a deformed lobule and a straight antihelix, adding those unique features can no longer be found in the President's recent photographs.

Jubril From Sudan: Human Genetics Professor Speaks On “Cloned” Buhari

Posted: 27 Nov 2018 02:35 AM PST

President Muhammadu Buhari

The story of President Buhari being cloned has been making rounds both online and mainstream media; some Nigerians have been peddling the rumours that the man in Aso Villa at the moment is a cloned man and not President Buhari that was sworn-in in May 2015.

The rumour mongers alleged that the person who is currently in the villa is a Sudanese, whose name is Jubril Aminu.

On Monday, Senator Ajayi Boroffice who is a Professor in Human Genetics and currently represents Ondo North in the Senate, released a statement, saying that there is no way in the world a 75-year-old man can be cloned.

According to the Professor, for a 75 year old man to be cloned, it would take another 75 years for his cloned body to become effective.
