2019 ELECTION: What God Will Do To Obasanjo, Atiku In February – Oshiomhole

Posted: 06 Dec 2018 04:12 PM PST

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has disclosed what God will do to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, next February.

Oshiomhole said God will punish both Obasanjo and Abubakar by allowing President Muhammadu Buhari defeating them in 2019.

He spoke to newsmen after receiving APC women leaders from Edo State in his office in Aso drive in Abuja, on Tuesday, Daily Post reports.

The former Edo State governor reminded Obasanjo that he swore that God should punish him if he ever supports Atiku to become the President.

According to him, "We know there are people across the divide who are fighting back. There is a gang up by those who are used to sucking the system without adding any value but Nigerians will not allow that.

"The two candidates are from the North and they are both Muslims. People are now going to look at character. Nobody has ever said Buhari is a thief. But who said the other person (Atiku) is a thief? It was his boss (Obasanjo).

"When you are working with me and I said you are a thief, God will punish me if I support you. And when you are confused because your supply line has been chopped off, you now turned around to support the same person.

"That God that you called with your name to punish you if you support the person is about to go to work. And he will go to work in February and HE will punish him thoroughly and the person he is supporting, in favour of Nigeria."

2019 ELECTION: President Buhari Speaks On Results Of 2019 Elections

Posted: 06 Dec 2018 10:47 AM PST

President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday promised to ensure that the results of next year's general elections reflect the will of the people.

Buhari said this while acknowledging the yearnings of Nigerians, and expressed strong belief in the collective dream for a greater Nigeria.

The President said this at the Presidential Villa, Abuja while receiving Letter of Credence from Ambassador of Finland to Nigeria, Dr Jyrki Juhani Pulkkinen, Daily Post reports.

Buhari stated that Nigerians reserved the right to elect leaders at various levels in 2019, adding that "all efforts will be made to safeguard the integrity of the process."

"I respect the people's feelings. I assure all that we will have a free and fair election next year.''

The President congratulated Finland on its 101 independence anniversary on December 6, 2018 and commended the country's growing relations with Nigeria, especially in areas of Information Communication Technology (ICT), trade and education.

In his remarks, Ambassador of Finland said the areas of mutual benefit in relations with Nigeria can be extended to electricity, smart technology and crises management initiatives, pointing out that he will work hard to improve the trade figures and exchanges.

"We will like to contribute to Africa rising, and we know that Nigeria is the biggest country on the continent, so we are very interested in the growth of Nigeria,'' he said.

At the level of the United Nations, Dr Pulkkinen said his country will continue to support the restructuring of the multilateral institution to give greater roles to African countries like Nigeria.

Buhari, who also received letter of Credence from the Ambassador of France, Mr Jerome Pasquier, stated that French President, Emmanuel Macron's visit to Nigeria's capital, Abuja, and the stopover in Lagos, was really impressive in bolstering both countries' relations.

The President said he was impressed with relations between France and its former colonies in Africa, noting that France continues to play positive roles in promoting security and economic growth in the countries.

"France is investing so much in Nigeria and we are grateful,'' he added.

President Buhari, however, called for more support in the fight against terrorism as the networks keep expanding with fighters moving across borders to support insurgents.

2019: 'Call Oshiomhole To Order' Okorocha Tells Buhari Over 'God Punish Obasanjo' Talk

Posted: 06 Dec 2018 09:05 AM PST

Mr. Rochas Okorocha and Comrade Adams Oshiomhole

The Imo State Governor, Mr. Rochas Okorocha has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to call the All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to order.

Okorocha in a statement signed by Sam Onwuemeodo his Chief Press Secretary said 'since Muhammadu Buhari became President he has never used any foul language on any Nigerian, low or high, and that is the best way to go. And Oshiomhole should borrow a leaf from Mr. President. One of the reasons the PDP lost in 2015 was the abuses the handlers of the Party then were heaping on the APC Presidential Candidate then, and the President today, Muhammadu Buhari. Oshiomhole should be advised not to tow the 2015 PDP line.'

Okorocha also said 'that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is the former President of the country. And no matter the provocation or his political activities this time, Oshiomhole should have considered his status as the former President of the Country in talking about him, and should have exercised caution in addressing him. Saying that God would punish the former President was never advisable. This should not be the language of APC.'

Read full statement below

The most recent media attack on Governor Rochas Okorocha and some other governors of APC extraction by the National Chairman of the Party, Adams Oshiomhole refers.

We won't take the pain to begin to talk about all the abuses, but to humbly plead with President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the leader of the party, to call Oshiomhole to order.

The Party's National Chairman has, in less than six months, enthroned the culture of rascality into the Party and the development is not good for the Party. APC is not known for rascality and abuses. And the earlier he is called to order the better for the party.

Since Muhammadu Buhari became President he has never used any foul language on any Nigerian, low or high, and that is the best way to go. And Oshiomhole should borrow a leaf from Mr. President. One of the reasons the PDP lost in 2015 was the abuses the handlers of the Party then were heaping on the APC Presidential Candidate then, and the President today, Muhammadu Buhari. Oshiomhole should be advised not to tow the 2015 PDP line.

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is the former President of the Country. And no matter the provocation or his political activities this time, Oshiomhole should have considered his status as the former President of the Country in talking about him, and should have exercised caution in addressing him. Saying that God would punish the former President was never advisable. This should not be the language of APC.

APC does not belong to Oshiomhole. He should therefore be advised to carefully select his words when he is talking about certain categories of Nigerians. And he should also find out why he is the only one talking about APC and no other member of the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party is doing so.

Oshiomhole should help the party and its Candidates by making his points without abusing people. The way Oshiomhole is talking has become nauseating to most Nigerians and the earlier he is called to Order, the better. He should be talking about the achievements of President Buhari and APC as a party instead of using the opportunities he would have used to do that, to be insulting people.

To say the least, few weeks to the elections, APC and its Candidates do not need Oshiomhole's abuses or insults but the reasons Nigerians should re-elect President Buhari and elect APC Candidates.

Atiku Was Persecuted By Buhari’s Military Junta Over 53 Suitcases – Titi Atiku Abubakar

Posted: 06 Dec 2018 08:12 AM PST

Mrs Titi Atiku Abubakar

Mrs Titi Atiku Abubakar, wife of the presidential candidate of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday alleged that her husband, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, was victimised for insisting on inspecting the controversial 53 suitcases imported into the country by a first class northern traditional ruler during the military administration, headed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking yesterday in Abuja when she paid a courtesy visit to the former Federal Commissioner for Information and Niger Delta leader, Chief Edwin Clark, and other leaders of the South South, Afenifere, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Middle Belt Forum, in his Asokoro residence, Titi said Atiku's insistence provoked the government which then pressured him out of his post.

It would be recalled that Atiku was the Customs Officer in Charge of Murtala Muhammed Airport command when the suitcases were imported into the country in 1994.

Atiku's wife said: "When Atiku was in Customs, there was one incident that happened in the 80's when 53 suitcases were brought in by a traditional ruler during the administration of the present president and he (Atiku) insisted that those suitcases must be opened.

"But they were very angry with him and they called the then Minister of Finance, Onaolapo Soleye, and they said they should throw him out of the job."

"But the minister said to them, this is one of the finest officers he had, that he would never throw Atiku out. That was what the man did. They said, 'it's ok, if you don't want to throw the man out, transfer him immediately. Atiku was that day transferred to Kano."

Speaking further, Mrs Atiku, who revealed that there was fear among party leaders and stakeholders when the venue of the recent PDP national convention was moved from Abuja to Port Harcourt, said many people believed it was a ploy to edge out Atiku and that there would be a fight.

She noted, however, that God had ordained that he would be the party's flag bearer at the convention.
According to her, when Atiku emerged the candidate at the convention, he went to Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, to thank him for letting the party use the venue.

She told Clark that she had come to thank him as an elder statesman, saying Nigerians were primed to elect Atiku because all their homes had become "Atikulated."
Mrs Titi Atiku, who assured that as a successful private businessman, Atiku would bring his business sagacity to bear on creating a prosperous life for Nigerians, however, noted that the main opposition candidate was corrupt.

She said as someone who had been married to Atiku for nearly 40 years, she knew him better and could say he is a just man.

In his remarks, Chief Clark said the forum of elders interviewed 16 presidential aspirants, stressing that they were looking for a man with capacity and intelligence who would keep the country together.

Clark, who noted that the 1999 constitution encouraged division among Nigerians, unlike what obtained in the First Republic where Nigerians put the country first, said: "What is the reason for making one area of this country, North West, seven states; North East, six states ; North Central, six states; South South, six states but South East, five states?

"Is that fair? Is it equitable? That is one of the things not going on well in the country. If you ask for ministers, every zone brings six ministers, except South East. You ask for things to be shared according to states, they (South East) receive only five.

"So, when some boys say 'we are not part of Nigeria,' they are angry, and nobody should crucify them, no one should call them terrorists. They are fighting for their rights. They are Nigerians.

"So, we are now looking for somebody among the candidates who will say 'am going to restructure his country and fairness will come to everybody and you will manage your own affairs."

Clark assured that Atiku, who he said had been an advocate of restructuring since 1994, would do the bidding of Nigerians, if elected president.
