Big Brother Naija 2019 To Hold After Elections And Inaugurations

Big Brother Naija 2019 To Hold After Elections And Inaugurations

The highly anticipated 2019 edition of Big Brother Naija will hold after the February general elections, according to new reports. The last edition of Big Brother Naija reality show was in January 2018, but the organizers decided to pause this year's edition because of the 2019 election coming up next month.

It has now been reportedly confirmed by a source at Payporte (the official sponsors of the reality show), that,

'Big Brother will still hold but because its a political year, we can't really control to what extent what the housemates will say in the house and we don't want it to become a tool that will heat up the polity'.

The source went on to add that, 'the show itself normally gets twisted so we don't want to mix it up with politics in anyway. Its supposed to be entertaining, we wouldn't want it to be divisive in anyway. If you notice, no religious activity gets discussed in the house too, if you want to pray you can pray, we don't want anyone to be forced to do it or divide Nigerians along those lines. So after the elections and inaugurations, it'll happen'.

The last edition wrapped up in April 2018 with Miracle Ikechukwu emerging winner of the hotly contested reality show.

R Kelly’s Daughter breaks silence “My father is a monster”

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 09:00 PM PST

R Kelly's Daughter - "My father is a monster"

R. Kelly's daughter Buku Abi is breaking her silence on the allegations surrounding her estranged father.

On Thursday, Abi — whose real name is Joann Kelly — posted a lengthy message on her Instagram Stories, condemning her "terrible" father, who she said she hasn't seen in years, for his actions and explained why it took her so long to speak out.

Read her words:

"Buku here. I just want to say a few things… Before I start I just want it to be known that I am speaking from the heart, nothing I say or do not say is to hurt ANY party reading or affected by this.

To the people that feel I should be speaking up/against everything that is going on right now. I just want you all to understand that devastated is an understatement for all that I feel currently.

I do apologize if my silence to all that is happening comes off as careless. That is my last intention. I pray for all the families & woman who have been affected by my father's actions.

Trust, I have been deeply affected by all of this. However, It has been very difficult to process it all. Let alone gather all the right words to express everything I feel. Anyone that knows me personally or has been following me through out the years knows that I do not have a relationship with my father. Nor do I speak on him or on his behalf.

I also am not fond of dealing with my personal issues or personal life experience through social media but, I feel things are starting to get out of hand. Unfortunately, for my own personal reasonings & for all my family has endured in regards to him, his life decisions, and his last name, it has been years since my siblings and I have seen and or have spoken to him."

She continued:

"In regards to my mother, she for the same reasoning and more, has not seen or spoken to my father in years. My mother, siblings, and I would never condone, support or be apart of ANYTHING negative he has done and or continues to do in his life.

Going through all I have gone through in my life, I would never want anyone to feel the pain I have felt. Reminders of how terrible my father is, and how we should be speaking up against him, rude comments about my family, fabricating me, my siblings, & our mothers "part", etc.

Does not help my family (Me, my sister, my brother, and my mother) in our healing process. Nor does it allow a safe space for other victims who are scared to speak up, speak up. The same monster you all confronting me about is my father."

She added:

"I am well aware of who and what he is. I grew up in that house. My choice not to speak on him and what he does is for my peace of mind. My emotional state. I have to do & move in a manner that is best for me. I pray anyone who reads this understands I put nothing but good intent behind each word. It took me nearly 3 days to write this. I just want everyone to know that I do care and I love you all. This is a very difficult subject to speak on… again, I apologize if my words don't come out right.."

She concluded by thanking her family and followers for their support during this hard times.

"To everyone who reached out to my family and I, sending good energy and love.. Thank you. You guys really helped push us through this hard time. This past year my family has been very difficult, all the love and support you all continue to show is why we keep going. You all fuel us. Family, friends, followers, fans, ect.. I love you guys to pieces. Your love is appreciated & will always be reciprocated. For anyone new to my page, I just ask when you come here you bring peace & nothing else. Love, Buku Abi."

2019 Presidency: Why Buhari Deserves Southeast Vote – Oshiomhole

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 06:34 PM PST

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole
The National Chairman of the ruling party in Nigeria, the All Progressive Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole said on Friday that President Muhammadu Buhari had done substantially well for the South-East to deserve the people's massive support in the February polls.

Oshiomhole said this at a rally in Umuahia to formally handover the party's flag to the governorship candidate of the party in Abia, Chief Uche Ogah, as well as the state and National Assembly candidates.

He said that Buhari's developmental strides in the zone in less than four years of his administration was enough to prove his critics wrong.

He listed the reconstruction of Enugu-Onitsha and Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressways, the construction of the Second Niger Bridge and completion of Late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe's mausoleum in Onitsha, as some of the president's achievements in the area.

The party's national chairman, therefore, urged the people of the zone to vote massively for Buhari's re-election.

He admonished them not to repeat the mistake they made in 2015, when they allegedly voted against APC.

He further charged them to vote for Ogah and other APC candidates in the polls to ensure the rapid transformation of the state.

He described Ogah as a product of self effort, industry, creativity and enterprise.

He said, "Ogah is self-made. He is not coming into government to steal your money.

"I'm happy that in Abia we had a direct primary that produced him. It was transparent. I'm proud of him."

Also, former Gov. Orji Kalu, who is the Abia North Senatorial candidate of APC, said that Abia would give Buhari 70 per cent vote in the Feb. 16 election.

He berated the Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu led-administration for allegedly failing to utilise the state's resources to transform the state.

Orji decried the poor state of infrastructure in the state, saying that Abia had not witnessed any meaningful development since he left office in 2007.

He expressed the hope that Ogah as a businessman would replicate his success story in his private business in governance, if elected.

In his speech, Ogah, an oil merchant, promised to make the people of Abia happy when elected.

"Abia rejoice! Your light has come and the glory of God has risen upon you," he said.

2019 Election: Omo-Agege, Uduaghan, Ogboru, Other APC Leaders In Delta Meet

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 06:34 PM PST

Uduaghan and Ogboru
Chief Great Ogboru, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta, says the crisis that engulfed the party in the state is over.

Ogboru, who stated this on Friday in Asaba at the launching of the Delta APC Campaign Council, said that the faction that rocked the party in the state had been settled.

"As a party, we have had our challenges in Delta, but today, the great men of our party have risen in unity to say enough is enough.

"We sat down and went to the drawing board to work and establish a united structure for our party.

"Today, APC in Delta is a formidable force and we have agreed to work and return President Buhari to power," Ogboru said.

According to a Daily Post report, the APC governorship candidate enjoined party members and supporters to carry the message of unity to their wards and local governments.

He announced the constitution of the APC State Campaign Council with former governor Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan as chairman.

According to him, Dr Cairo Ojuogbo, another chieftain of the party, will function as Co-chairman and spokesperson of the council.

Ogboru also announced the appointment of Mr George Timinimi as the Director-General of the council.

Earlier, State Chairman of APC, Mr Jones Erue, reiterated the determination of the party to take over Delta.

"Our quest to occupy the Government house Asaba is a serious business for all of us. We have to liberate Delta from the shackles of poverty, oppression and hopelessness.

"Also, as politicians, if we don't take over the government house, many of us will become Intenally Displaced Politicians.

"I don't want to be displaced, so also many of you here. So that is why we all have to work and enthrone a new Delta that will bring hope to our people.

"We have started with our door-to-door campaign. I can assure you that we are already there," Erue said.

Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege said the APC in the state had become the party to beat.

"With this inauguration of our campaign committees, we are set to take over the political landscape of Delta.

"From ward to ward in all the local government areas, we are going to deliver all our candidates.

"We have an obligation to return our President, Mohammadu Buhari to power, because he has done so much to reposition Nigeria.

"We cannot allow PDP to come back to power because they wrecked this nation beyond imagination.

Ojuogbo called on party members to close ranks and work in unity.

He said that the days of the PDP administration in the state was over with the inauguration of APC campaign council in the state.

He dismissed insinuation about existing zooning agreement in Delta.

"Let me use this opportunity to clear this talk of power zoning in Delta.

"It is purely a PDP arrangement and APC is not under any obligation to follow such arrangement.

"In APC, the three senatorial districts in Delta are qualified to vie for the governorship position," he said.

He, however, reminded party members in the state of the task ahead.

He said: "As we set out to take over the affairs of the state, we must also tell ourselves the truth.

"The task ahead is not a tea party affair. We must be serious with our quest to dislodge PDP.

"First and foremost, APC in Delta has to come together as a united force and that is the only way we can win.

"We must stand firm and bury our differences. In the next 40 days, we must not rest. We must work and work harder.

Uduaghan urged members to inculcate the winning mentality.

"We have to inculcate into ourselves the winning mentality because that is the secret of victory.

"The truth is that we have to believe in ourselves. that we can do it. Let us go back to our various wards and spread the message.

"I want to remind everyone that work has started. We will continue to meet and strategise from now till the election," he said.

2019 Election: Why INEC Must Not Allow Rigging – Labaran Maku

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 06:35 PM PST

Labaran Maku
Labaran Maku, a former Minister of Information, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, not to succumb to pressure from some politicians to compromise on its mandate.

Maku, who made the call during a courtesy call on the commission's office in Lafia on Friday, called on the INEC to ensure free, fair and credible 2019 general elections in the state, Daily Post reports.

According to him, the only thing that would compel leaders to deliver on their campaign promises was credible elections.

Maku, who is Nasarawa State governorship candidate under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), said: "When politicians know that they cannot subvert the wish of the people by influencing the outcome of elections, they are bound to be prepared to perform.

"If all of us know that the only way to get elected is through popular vote, we must work for the people.

"But when INEC officials allow themselves to be used to rig elections against popular will, the country will continue to witness bad governance," he said.

Maku remarked that electoral officers who succumbed to pressure from politicians and rigged elections might benefit in the short run.

He, however, stressed that such people would later be affected by bad health facilities and insecurity due to bad governance by dishonest people declared winners of such elections.

The former Minister of Information also called on security agencies to exhibit neutrality and avoid compromising the electoral process, in the interest of democracy in the country.

"If INEC and the security agencies love this country, they should allow free, fair and credible elections," Maku said.

The APGA candidate promised to ensure that his supporters conducted themselves well before, during and after the polls.

Responding, Uthman Ajidagba, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, expressed gratitude to the candidate for the visit.

Ajidagba assured him that the commission would do its best to ensure that the general election would be better than the previous ones.

He added that with the technology employed by the commission, nobody could clone the Permanent Voter Cards for the purpose of manipulating the election.

What Can N10,000 Do For Traders? - Ayorinde, SDP Guber Candidate, Slams Buhari Over Trader Moni Scheme

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 05:53 PM PST

Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN)
Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN), Governorship candidate of an opposition party, the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in Oyo State, on Friday condemned the Federal Government of Nigeria over the introduction of the trader moni scheme.

Chief Ayorinde, while addressing newsmen in Igangan town, one of the towns in Oke-Ogun geo-political zone of the state shortly after the flag off of the party campaign, declared that the ten thousand naira given to traders across the country was not enough to take care of the traders' needs.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, while addressing thousands of supporters of the party and residents of the town, promised that his party has a better plan for artisans and traders in the state compared to the trader moni scheme introduced by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The SDP gubernatorial candidate said, "Ten thousand naira cannot do anything for traders.

"We will set up cooperative structures that can actually solve the problems of traders.

"The structure has been tested and trusted all over the world."

He maintained that he was sad that the education sector in the state is nothing to write home about.

He said "Twenty per cent of the budget will be on education.

"We will have three commissioners for education. One for primary school education, another for secondary school education and the third for tertiary education.

Ayorinde admonished the people of the state to stand against vote selling and buying.

He added that, "Hold your PVC and sell it to no one. Do not sell your votes and your future. We will not permit vote rigging."

2019 Presidency: Buhari Sets New Record In History – CUPP

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 05:38 PM PST

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has declared President Muhammadu Buhari as the first presidential candidate in Nigeria's history to hire a proxy in a contest.

CUPP, through its National Chairman, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, while addressing newsmen  in Abuja, on Friday, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to lead his campaign in order to demonstrate his fitness for the highest office in the land.

He said, "President Muhammadu Buhari has indeed said Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu would do the campaign on his behalf.

"We do hope that he was misquoted, otherwise, Nigerians should simply ask him to step back from the contest and let his party put Tinubu forward as its candidate.

"President Buhari will go down as the first candidate in history to hire a proxy in a presidential contest. He is the one contesting.

"He should not be afraid to be the one to interface directly with Nigerians.

"We urge the Nigerian people to insist that President Buhari must show that he is fit and able for the nation's top job by leading his own campaign and by being at the presidential candidates' debate.

"Anyone who is afraid to come out and debate shoulder to shoulder with opponents and speak directly to Nigerians is not deserving of the mandate of Nigerians.

"It will be nice to see President Buhari join other candidates in the debate and answer questions on his stewardship so far and what else he has to offer. We sincerely look forward to that day."

The CUPP also stated that the level of insecurity in the country will affect the conduct of the general elections if left unchecked and therefore, called on the president to do everything possible to overhaul the nation's security architecture.

The coalition also urged the president to sign the Electoral Act Amendment Bill in order to guarantee free and fair elections.

Inspector General of Police, Plotting To Kill Me – Saraki Alleges

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 05:29 PM PST

Dr. Bukola Saraki, Nigeria's President of Senate
Dr. Bukola Saraki, Nigeria's President of Senate,  has raised alarm that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris was after his life.

Saraki, who is the Director General of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Campaign Organisation (PPCO), raised the allegation at a press conference this evening in Abuja.

He called on the international authorities to hold Idris responsible if anything bad happened to him or members of his family, Daily Post reports.

Saraki also alleged the IGP had tried "several tricks to implicate him in some criminal charges, the first being the arrest of some cultists who were being compelled to claim they worked for him."

He added: "Later, he went on to the Offa robbery case and politicized the investigation in order to rope me. In the process of forcing suspects to implicate me, the principal suspect died in their custody.

"He has also not succeeded with that plot. Who knows what else he may have planned?" he asked.

Saraki, a former governor of Kwara state, continued, "We need to make it clear to the entire world that now that ward to ward campaigns is about to begin in the state and I am set to participate in that grassroots campaign as I have always done.

"Nobody is sure what instructions Mr. Idris has given to the police command in the state.

"Thus, the entire world should hold the IGP responsible if anything untoward happens to members of my family and myself."

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 05:20 PM PST

Cesc Fabregas
Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea midfielder, has completed his move to AS Monaco in a deal worth £10 million ($12.8m).

The 31-year-old signed a three-and-a-half-year-deal with the French club. It is hoped he will play a key role in helping the 2017 Ligue 1 champions avoid relegation.

He will reunite with former Arsenal team-mate and close friend Thierry Henry at Stade Louis II, with the Gunners' all-time top goalscorer taking his first steps in management after Leonardo Jardim was sacked in October.

"It is a great pleasure to join AS Monaco, a new project for me," Fabregas said in a statement.

"The group is quality with young players and a young coach. I'm here to help the team.

APC Lagos Rally: Sego, NURTW Chieftain Accused Of Stabbing MC Oluomo, Opens Up

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 05:12 PM PST

Mustapha Adekunle aka Sego, the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) official, who allegedly stabbed the state Treasurer of the Union Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo), has opened up.

The police had declared him wanted over the fracas that occurred at an All Progressives Congress (APC) event in Lagos on Tuesday.

Adekunle was accused of "attempting to disrupt the rally" held at the Skypower Grounds, Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ikeja

Speaking to The Nation, Sego challenged the police to release the video evidence for the world to see.

Sego said: "Whoever has any videotape of Sego unleashing mayhem on people should let the world see it. Whosoever has any evidence against Sego should come forward with it. That's what I want.

"Anybody can fight for his right with his mouth by speaking against what he feels is not right. Besides, employing the use of a weapon is against the law and nobody on Tuesday can say he or she saw me with any weapon.

"For emphasis, I did not hold any weapon on that day. I only spoke against what is not right. I went to the rally as a member of Team Lagos and not on behalf of the union. I have been a party member since 1999 and we have been in Team Lagos since then.

"Go and ask Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, Oba Demola Elegushi, APC state Chairman Tunde Balogun and King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal what Team Lagos stands for. I was at the rally under the banner of Team Lagos. Agbede came under the banner of the union (NURTW)."

Meanwhile, some NURTW officials and members in Oshodi have accused Lagos State Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal of bias in handling of the matter.

The Organising Secretary, Berger Unit, at Oshodi, Semiu Omosansan, condemned the Police for declaring Sego wanted.

Ekiti State Government Charges Security Agencies To Rid State Of Hoodlums

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 05:04 PM PST

Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti State Governor
Ekiti State Government has given a marching order to security agencies in the state to comb the entire state and fish out criminal elements.

The government will also take some practical steps aimed at strengthening the security architecture of the state, part of which include a review of the State Security Trust Fund Law.

These were parts of the decisions reached at an emergency meeting of the State Security Council, held in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday evening.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode, and made available to journalists on Friday, the meeting also resolved that it was necessary to visit key provisions of the law including the need to recognise informal security structures in the state as beneficiaries of the fund, Daily Post reports.

The council assured citizens of the state that adequate security measures were being made to curtail armed robbery and kidnapping in the state and make lives and properties better secured.

They, however, urged members of the public to cooperate with security agencies by availing them with information on any suspicious movement or activities within their locality,

In a related development, the state Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has appointed Brig-General Ebenezer Ogundana (rtd) as Special Adviser on Security Matter and Coordinator of the Rapid Response Squad.

The Kota Omuo Ekiti born retired general holds a Master's degree in Security and Strategic Studies. He had served as Commandant, Nigeria Army School of Artillery and Commander 33 Artillery Brigade, Bauchi before he retired from the Nigerian Army in 2016.

Dr Fayemi says government would take every step possible to ensure that the people of the state live in an atmosphere of peace and prosperity that is devoid of crime and violence, adding that the menace of killings and kidnapping would soon become a thing of the past in the state.

Acting INEC Chairman in the state, Mr Felix Enabor, who disclosed this to newsmen in Asaba on Friday, stated that the unclaimed PVCs had been a source of worry to the commission, adding that 49 political parties are participating in the forthcoming elections in Delta State, Daily Post reports.

His words: "We at the Commission hereby assure all contestants of our neutrality and we promise that it will be level playing field. INEC will give enabling environment for all the contestants to prove who they are."

Disclosing that the collection of the processed PVCs was ongoing, Enabor said that the statistics for the collection has not been encouraging in Delta State.

He revealed that the number of PVCs not yet collected is 465,317 and enjoined those who have not collected to hurry up before the elections to enable them exercise their right by voting for their preferred candidates.

Harping on the need for peace during the elections, the INEC official reassured political parties in the state of the commission's readiness to create a level playground before, during and after the elections.

He said, "INEC has a total number of 2,823,161 persons registered by the commission in the state," adding that their PVCs were long printed.

Enabor called on the electorate to abide by the rules of voting to avoid problems that may jeopardise the contestants' chances.

Comrade Ayuba Wabba
The President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba, has said they will oppose any move to tamper with legitimately earned salaries of workers in the guise of implementing the new minimum wage.

The NLC's boss, warning followed President Muhammadu Buhari's announcement, that workers who presently earn N30,000, would also have their salaries reviewed in accordance with the new minimum wage.

Speaking with The Nation Newspaper, Wabba rejected Buhari's position, saying that there was no basis for such move.

"That is not the principle behind the minimum wage and the technical committee is simply a government committee. It is their internal mechanism. I am not so sure that minimum wage is about reducing workers' wages.

"If they have earned their salaries legitimately, there is no way the minimum wage can reduce it. In fact, the minimum wage is about empowering workers and improving on what they collect. I don't think that decision is right because every salary a worker earns is legitimately negotiated on the table.

"I think what they need to do is to reduce salaries of political office holders, those that are collecting salaries that are not appropriated or salaries that are humongous. We know the wastages are the security votes and the high cost of governance," Wabba stated.

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 04:32 PM PST

Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi
Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, Nigeria's Minister of Transportation, has attested to insecurity in the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Amaechi, in an audio tape shared by the former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, said his monthly salary is not enough for him to pay for accommodation in secured areas in Abuja.

Amaechi, who alleged in the video that his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was taking N100,000 from his N960, 000 salary, said he cannot live in Gwarimpa or Utoko, where, according to him, armed robbers could easily attack him.

Amaechi was heard saying: "My salary is N960,000 and APC takes N100,000. It won't pay… any of… all my kids are oversees. All. My first son is in Dublin, my second son is in Canada and my third son is in Britain.

"It will not pay any of their fees. Out of that (money) three hundred thousand is for accommodation per month. Multiply by 12 is N4 million per… where? You want me to go and live in Gwarimpa so that armed robbers will visit there? or Utako?"

APC vs PDP: Tinubu Let's Out OF The Bag, What Atiku Did When He Was Lagos Governor

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 03:46 PM PST

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,  National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday stated that the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar abandoned Lagos State when he was in office.

The former Lagos governor said Atiku, then vice president, failed to act when the Obasanjo government seized the state's local government allocation.

Tinubu spoke in Abuja when he received the representatives of traditional rulers from South West States led by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

"Atiku was Vice President of this country when the local government allocation for Lagos state was seized. When we led a protest to Atiku then, he said go away. Go and comply.

"Without those allocation, you cannot bring development. When we said we needed power to power Lagos and the industrial base in our region, they said no", Daily Trust quoted him as saying.

"They were taking away N250 million from our allocation every month for being innovative and creative. Everywhere we turn, they rejected us and punished us. But we never gave up.

"Today, we are in that progressive development championed and led by President Muhammadu Buhari. Thank you for not looking back. Thank you for visiting and encouraging him.

"I am very happy and proud of the very promising situation. When you have the endorsement of your Royal fathers, it means you have the people with you and the voice of the people is the voice of God. I am elated."

APC Rally: Police Under Fire As Camp Of Sego, MC Oluomo’s Rival Speaks On Fracas

Posted: 11 Jan 2019 03:14 PM PST

Imohimi Edgal, Lagos State Police Commissioner
Some members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oshodi have accused the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal of biasness in the handling of the fracas that occurred at the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Lagos on Tuesday.

The Organising Secretary, Berger Unit, at Oshodi, Semiu Omosansan, on Thursday condemned the declaration of Mustapha Adekunle aka Sego wanted for "attempting to disrupt the rally" held at the Skypower Grounds, Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ikeja.

"Adekunle Mustapha (Sego) was not at the place where union's state Treasurer Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo) was stabbed", The Nation quoted Omosansan as saying.

"The incident occurred on the stage where K1 (Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe) was performing and he is alive to bear witness that Sego was nowhere close to the stage. This is not the first time MC Oluomo and Sego will attend APC rally as party members and such unfortunate incident has never happened until the state Chairman (Tajudeen Agbede) and his boys decided to attend last Tuesday's event.

"One of Sego's boys was killed during the violence. Why is Sego accused of being responsible for that? We are yet to understand the reason to declare him wanted. MC Oluomo was stabbed in the presence of Agbede Tajudeen, NURTW chairman in Idumota, Azeez Lawal (aka Kunle Poly) and others. The police should quiz the two (Agbede and Lawal). Agbede even lied that he took MC Oluomo to the hospital, which is not true.

"In a situation like this, we expect that the Commissioner of Police will carry out thorough and unbiased investigations.

"The police are the custodian of law. We still have huge faith and belief in the Force that it will always do the right thing. We implore the CP to get his facts right."

Reacting, Police spokesman, Chike Oti insisted that Adekunle should come out and clear himself.

He said: "This matter is not debatable, it is on camera. Sego was caught on camera unleashing violence on people. That is the reason he was declared wanted. It is not a case of peddling falsehood or perception, it is about reality.

"Our declaration of Sego wanted still stands. Whatever anybody has to say on the matter, such a person should come to the police. You do not resort to violence to resolve issues."
