''I detest transactional sex'' Falz insists

''I detest transactional sex'' Falz insists
Falz has come out to insist that he will continue to stand by his message when it comes to the topic of prostitution.

With the release of the lead single from his recently released Moral Instruction album, 'Talk', there was a re-awakening of criticisms towards the lawyer turned rapper over his continuous stand regarding prostitution or slut shaming.

Majority of online users pointed to his lyrics, ''Instead make you work, you dey find Alhaji, You come turn your body to cash and carry'' and called out Falz for his obsession with ladies who have made a choice with what to do with their bodies.

Responding to these criticisms during a question and answer session at the listening event for the new album, Falz maintained that he detests transactional sex and will continue to speak out against it in his songs.

''Shamelessly I will continue to say it. I detest transactional sex. It is my thing, that is what I believe in and you will continue to hear it in my music.''

He then goes further to explain, ''The same feminist that will say the woman is free to do what she likes, that who am I to tell women not to put herself up for money is the same feminist that will say women are being objectified, now you are that same person that is going ahead to commodify yourself. You have turned yourself into a commodity.

Self objectification, self commoditation, I detest it and I will continue to speak against it,

Their argument often is that I speak about the runs girls and I don't talk about the guys. If you are going to talk about a certain epidemic, obviously you are going to use the more popular scenario, the more relatable scenario and that is why I always use the runs girl.''

While going further to defend himself saying, ''On 'Regards To Your Mumsi' ft Ajebutter, we seriously mocked the men who patronize them but we all know that the epidemic is more popular with the women.''

Falz officially released his fourth studio album, 'Moral Instruction' on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

"I endured a horrible marriage an depression 10 years ago"- Daddy Freeze

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 11:00 PM PST

Daddy Freeze and Children
While other celebrities are busy reminiscing about their last 10 years by sharing photos from the past, with the trending #10YearsChallenge, Daddy Freeze wants everyone to know about his not so cool last 10 years.

The On-Air personality talked about how he was in a bad marriage ten years ago, coupled with the fact that he went through depression and his colleagues hating his guts. He shared this and more on his Instagram page on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

"This #10yearschallenge really got me thinking.....10 years ago I was doing quite well financially, substantially better than I am now. I could walk into a shop and spend money on a Rolex, mille or a Cartier watch without thinking twice...I was also doing a lot in the Pentecostal church I was attending then...But the 'doing well' ended there. I was in a horrible marriage, I was going through depression and my colleagues at work hated my guts, in short, there was a hole in my soul.

"Fast forward 10 years later, I'm not doing as well financially, but my life has so much more meaning. My existence has definition and purpose, people come from across the world to hear me teach the scriptures, my communication with God is awesome in spirit and in truth, I have the most wonderful woman on earth, @tastebudzng beside me, believing in me. Against all odds we set up a church that is flourishing, souls are being won daily while we clean up the mess many Pentecostal churches are leaving behind.

"Morale of the story; money is empty, hollow, and transient so NEVER let it determine the yardstick for measuring your success, instead value and purpose should. Your pastors have taught you to rate money very high, this is why a lot of people would say "Daddy Freeze is a failure, he is not a billionaire, he is still an employee of @coolfmlagos." Well according to those standards Christ and the disciples were failures also, they were neither billionaires nor entrepreneurs.

Daddy Freeze
"I still love watches, cars and the good things of life; they light up my heart, but when I get a call from someone broken saying "Daddy Freeze your message saved me from suicide" or "Daddy Freeze, I knew if you picked my call my problem would be solved" or "Daddy Freeze, you have shown me scriptures I never knew existed and you have made me study the scriptures more", my soul lights up! ~FRZ #FreeTheSheeple," he wrote.

Daddy Freeze has been in the news for different reasons over the last couple of years. From his failed marriage to his consistent calling out of pastors in recent times, he has become a regular face on the front pages of blogs and tabloids.

Only recently he called out his ex-wife for taking his children out of the country without his knowledge and consent.

The 'King Of Boys' director further said, the original inspiration for the series was her mom who has been offered this prestigious title numerous times.

See How IGP Adamu’s Appointment Is A Slap On Face Of Igbo – Intersociety

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 05:21 PM PST

A human rights group, International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law (Intersociety) has stated that the appointment of Abubakar Mohammed Adamu, another Northern Muslim from Lafia, Nasarawa State, North-central Nigeria, as the Inspector-General of Police, is a slap on the face of South-Easterners.

The group said the shame of the shunning of Igbo officers in the appointment of a new Inspector-General is even bigger on some South-East leaders and governors who have been canvassing for votes for President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the group, Mr Emeka Umeagbalasi, Intersociety said it was a shame that despite the calls for the appointment of an officer from the South-East for the IG position as a way of placating the people of the zone for their non representation in the security architecture of the country, the president did otherwise, Daily Post reports.

The statement read, "It is also our position that the appointment of Police AIG Abubakar Adamu Muhammed, is not only a slap on the face of Igbo Nation, but also the Buharists in Southeast Nigeria including the Southeast Govs in general and Govs William Obiano and Dave Umahi of Anambra and Ebonyi States in particular.

"They should go and bury their faces in shame. If such brazen regional isolation in the country's top security architecture could repeatedly be manifested and cemented in this crucial national election campaign period, then the position of the Igbo Nation in the country's scheme of things in post 2019 election Nigeria is irreversibly or intractably doomed and darkened."

The group said in one of its publication, it disclosed that out of the country's 22 top security and justice establishments and their headships, 18 are held by the North and four by the South; out of which 19 are Muslims with only three Christians.

It said none of those 22 top security positions was allocated to the South-East, and that it had advised the president to show that he does not hate the people of the South-East as has been severally said, by appointing a top police officer from the zone to the position of the Inspector-General of Police, upon the retirement of the previous, but regretted that such plea failed.

It said, "The Buhari Administration is totally condemned for refusing to appoint a senior police from the Southeast as next IGP to console the Region from the past four years of central and regional socio-political segregation, exclusion and structural violence."

The group also said that the former IG, Ibrahim Idris, stayed 12 illegal days after his stated date of retirement, alleging that he may have falsified his date of birth to gain 12 more days in office, after he was supposed to vacate office on 3rd January 2019.

"The Federal Government of Nigeria is therefore called upon to thoroughly and conclusively investigate former IGP Ibrahim Idris over the subject matter and recover all public funds including overheads and operational costs as well as paraphernalia allowances, personal earnings and other illegitimately authorized expenditures; cumulatively authorized and spent by former IGP Idris in his 12 illegal days in office as Nigeria's IGP or between 3rd and 15th January 2019," the group said.

2019 Election: PDP Paralyse Activities In , As Ashiru Flags Off Guber Campaign, Declares APC Failure

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 05:05 PM PST

PDP
Kaduna-Zaria highway was practically shut down on Tuesday as the governorship candidate of People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Alhaji Isa Ashiru, kick-started his campaign at the International Trade Fair Complex.

Hundreds of thousands of party supporters trooped to the venue, literally blocking the Kaduna-Zaria highway.

Several commuters plying the roads on both sides were stranded for several hours as a result of the unprecedented crowd that graced the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashiru said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State has failed and urged the people to vote out Governor Nasir el-Rufai in the forth coming election.

He called on the people to ensure that they come out enmass to vote for the PDP at all levels to return the state and the country to the path of sanity and progress.

Ashiru also condemned the Kaduna State government for alleged indiscriminate sacking of civil servants and teachers and promised that if elected, he would set up a committee to review the cases of the sacked workers with the view of reinstating those whose appointments were unjustly terminated.

"I want all of you to ensure that you keep your voters cards safely. Your voter's card is your power.

"Civil servants, teachers, where are you? We are assuring you, If we are voted into power, we will set up a committee to review the sacking of all teachers and civil servants by the APC government in Kaduna State.

"Those who were unjustly sacked would be reinstated. Therefore, I urged you not to bother."

Also speaking, the National Chairman of Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Alhaji Buba Galadima, declared that the APC government has brought hunger, poverty and insecurity on Nigerians.

He said: "Nigerians have been suffering from hunger, poverty and insecurity and by the grace of God, by February 16, the hardship would be over if you vote the PDP.

"You must make sure that you vote the PDP for president, governor and all other positions.

"You must protect your votes, come out enmass and ensure that you cast your vote no matter what!"

Also speaking at the rally, the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Ramalan Yero, chided the APC government in the state for non performance.

He said Kaduna is for PDP and anyone who says Kaduna is not for PDP is deceiving himself."

Dignitaries who attended the event had to be lifted up to the main venue by party supporters as their vehicles could not move due to crowd surge.

Dignitaries that attended the rally included former vice president, Namadi Sambo; former national caretaker chairman of the PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi; former governor of Jigawa States, Alhaji Sule Lamido; former Kano State governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwoso; chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Walid Jibrin and Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi among several other party stalwarts.

2019 Election: Lagos Women Urged By Obi To Vote PDP To End Slavery

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 11:41 AM PST

Peter Obi
As activities continue to build up towards the 2019 general elections, the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Peter Obi, has charged women in Lagos state to vote massively for PDP, to enable them attain freedom from slavery.

This was as Mr. Obi also slammed the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government for subjecting the populace to suffering, hunger and poverty.

Obi was speaking on Tuesday, at the rally organised by member representing Ajeromi/Ifelodun federal constituency, Hon. Rita Orji, to sensistise the South-East, South-South and Arewa women groups in Lagos.

According to him, "the government of APC has killed the country", adding that, "Lagos is under slavery and it takes Jimi Agbaje (the PDP governorship candidate) to deliver the state".

Obi urged the women to mobilise for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the forthcoming election, assuring them of favourable engagements in the Atiku/Obi presidency.

"It is only Atiku that can deliver us from poverty, he is a business man and he has many companies. This one, when he came, he had 160 cows and up till now, the cows have not increased", Obi told the women.

On her part, wife of the PDP presidential candidate, Mrs. Jennifer Douglas Abubakar, posited that the key to unlocking the breakthrough of the nation lies with the women, saying only women can redeem the nation through massive mobilisations for the 2019 elections.

She said, "It is true there is hunger, it is true that our children are dying, but it takes the women to redeem the county.

"The women have said it enough, about the hunger and about the children dropping out of school, but we cannot say it more than the people who are ATIKULATING", stressing that a vote for PDP and all its candidates across the nation would bring about redemption and breakthrough.

The Economic Financial and Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday invaded the residence of the embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen.

This was disclosed by former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode on his Twitter page.

Mining Industry Gets SuperWireless Technology Boost

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 09:28 AM PST

Epiroc Minners
Epiroc, a productivity partner for the mining, infrastructure and natural resources industries, has signed a cooperation agreement with Ericsson to jointly help mining companies achieve optimal wireless connectivity in their operations through LTE and 5G technologies.

Mining companies are increasingly seeking to digitalise and automate their operations to increase productivity, enhance operator safety and lower cost. This includes, for example, remotely operating machines from a control room, and collecting machine performance data to optimize the use of the equipment. This creates a need for reliable, high-performance wireless connectivity at the mines. Epiroc and Ericsson have agreed to work together to provide mining customers with high-performing LTE (Long-Term Evolution) and 5G mobile technology solutions.
Helena Hedblom, Epiroc's Senior Executive Vice President Mining and Infrastructure, says: "We are happy to team up with Ericsson so that our mining customers can get the most reliable and high-performing wireless connectivity possible. This is a crucial step in our ongoing work to ensure mining customers reap all the benefits, including higher productivity and better safety, made possible by digitalisation and automation."

Åsa Tamsons, Ericsson's Senior Vice President and Head of Business Area Technologies & New Businesses, says: "Cellular technology and the introduction of 5G is critical to realise the full value of digitalisation and automatisation for smart industries. This will open up for new business models and ecosystems across the mining industry, telecom services providers in each market, and Ericsson. By combining our expertise in connectivity and Epiroc's cutting-edge technology in mining equipment, we will be able to ensure stable and secure mining operations, leading to increased utilisation, improved productivity and reduced costs."

Key advantages of LTE and 5G solutions compared with other wireless solutions include better coverage, higher reliability and stronger security, especially when machines are in the same area and share information. The technology, which is for both underground and open pit mines, has already been tested on Epiroc's machines at the company's test mine in Kvarntorp, Sweden. Further testing will be done before providing solutions to customers.

Rocket League
Sony has announced that it will finally let PS4 owners play Rocket League against gamers on Xbox, Switch, and PC. Having previously blocked Rocket League cross-play, except between PS4 and PC, developers said that they were simply waiting on Sony to give the go-ahead.

Sony has announced that it will finally let PS4 owners play Rocket League against gamers on Xbox, Switch, and PC. Having previously blocked Rocket League cross-play, except between PS4 and PC, developers said that they were simply waiting on Sony to give the go-ahead.

Eventually, Sony gave in to the demand, first on Fortnite and now Rocket League, thanks in part to a policy change last year.

Rocket League developer Psyonix is enabling cross-play by default, but just to make sure that it is, head to the "Main Menu," select "Options" and then make sure the "Cross-Platform Play" box is checked in the "Gameplay" tab.

"Private Matches" can be created to play with friends until the cross-platform parties release by selecting "Play" from the "Main Menu," then "Private Match," followed by "Create" or "Join Private Match".

"It's because of you, our fans, and our generous partners on all systems and services that have made this possible in the first place," says Jeremy Dunham, VP of publishing at Psyonix. "On behalf of the entire team, thank you for your passion and persistence as we continue to do our best to make Rocket League the best experience we can."

Ibrahim Idris, former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), has said he did his best while leading the force.

Idris said this shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari decorated the new Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, with a new rank at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Addressing State House Correspondents, he said "I want to inform Nigerians that today I am 60 years and I think I have reached the pinnacle of my career. So, I am going to handover to my successor. He is an officer I know very well. We worked together in the past. I wish him success.

"The advice I will give is that just like in our time, he should try to go round the country and adopt measures to ensure that the Nigerian police force gives maximum protection to lives and property."

"The challenges are in the area of recruitment. I am sure you are aware that the government has just given us approval to recruit more people yearly, by the grace of God by this year the number of police officers is going to increase considerably."

"We are adequately prepared for the elections. We have carried out a lot of elections in this country and I think you will agree with me that the Nigeria police force tried in these elections.

Three children found dead in freezer

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 07:17 AM PST

3 Children died in Freezer
Three children have died after getting trapped in an unplugged freezer while playing outside, police in Florida have said.

According to the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office, the youngsters could not be revived by the time they were found in the garden of a home in Live Oak on Monday.

Two of the children – a six-year-old boy and a one-year-old girl – were siblings and lived with their grandmother, and the third was a four-year-old girl who lived with her mother.

The two women are roommates at the property.

One of them had been sleeping at the time the children got trapped as she was preparing for a night shift, and the other was in the bathroom.

She could not find them upon returning, prompting the pair to carry out a search.

Eventually, they found the children in the chest freezer, which had been recently bought but not yet plugged in and had spent four or five days sat outside in the garden.

Police and fire and rescue crews were called to the scene as the women tried to perform CPR on the children, but efforts to resuscitate them failed and they were pronounced dead in hospital.

An investigation into the deaths is ongoing, with post-mortems still to be carried out.

So far police have revealed that the freezer was second-hand and had a hasp installed on the lid in order to secure a padlock, which had not yet been fitted.

When the lid slammed shut after the children had climbed in, the hasp fell shut and trapped them inside.

At a press briefing, Suwannee County Sheriff Sam St John said: "Words can't describe how heartbroken I am.

"Any time you deal with children and something like this and when they die from something like this nature, it just tugs at your heartstrings. Words can't describe this and the only thing we can do is go forward."

Elections: Okowa urges security agencies to be impartial

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 04:09 PM PST

Ifeanyi Okowa and  Austin Braimoh
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has urged security agencies and those who will be involved in the conduct of the 2019 general elections to be impartial.

The governor made the call in Asaba when the South-South Zone of the Police Service Commission Monitoring Team led by Mr Austin Braimoh paid him a courtesy visit.

According to the governor, "politicians should be allowed to campaign freely, they should be allowed to reach out to the people to ask for votes, but, the people must also be allowed to exercise there will freely.

"We expect that impartiality is carried and there is no form of intimidation of voters in the course of the election because, when such happens, it will create a lot of challenges that will run in the course of the post-election era.

"Nigerians expect that the 2019 election will be hitch-free, free, fair and peaceful and the will of the people will prevail, because, the proper conduct of the elections will deepen the strength of our democracy and bring more foreign investment.

"If we conduct an election that does not meet global standards, it will affect our democracy and our nation," he said.

Okowa expressed optimism that the elections will meet global standards, stressing that the nation's economy was already challenged and a poor election would set it back further.

He noted that for the electoral process to go smoothly, the Police has a lot of roles to play to boost voters confidence.

"This confidence-building process will be such that will assure voters in the field of their safety and the voting process will be smooth," Governor Okowa said.

Responding, Mr Braimor said they were in Delta State for re-election sensitization programme.

He said that Police officers on election duties have a responsibility of ensuring that peaceful atmosphere are maintained at the polling and counting centres.

He added that policemen must comport themselves in such a way that citizens exercise their franchise without fear of coercion, intimidation, violence or manipulation.

He commended Governor Okowa's administration for its support to the Police.

Elections: Foundation urges Nigerians to shun vote buying

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 06:25 AM PST

Vote Buying
The Mike Omotosho Foundation on Monday urged Nigerians to imbibe the value of integrity and not to sell their vote in the forthcoming general elections.

The convener of the foundation, Dr Mike Omotosho, gave the advice at the 4th Mike Omotosho Annual Lecture in Abuja.

Omotosho said that Nigeria had seven core values of integrity which are: discipline, patriotism, self-reliance, social justice, the dignity of labour and religious cooperation, yet many people were not aware talk less of practising them.

"If we are able to live by the core values, the issues of poverty and food insecurity will be by-gone issues; even youths will have the courage to begin to understand that if they live by them, they will solve all the problems we have.

"Without the core values, the civil roles of people will not matter, if you talk about integrity it begins to convince you that you don't need to sell your vote.

"You need to look for the right person who will be more patriotic to vote into power, so if you have the interest of the nation at heart then that will be paramount."

Omotosho urged Nigerians to imbibe the core values so as to curb electoral irregularities like thuggery, vote buying and electoral violence during elections and everyone will cooperate for the nation.

He said that the lecture held annually to mark his birthday as a way of giving back to society by addressing key issues and charting the way forward.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Mr Jimoh Moshood, said it was high time Nigerians inculcated the culture of the seven core values for a better Nigeria.

Moshood said that discipline which was one of the values was necessary because it was the key thing, adding that it would make people do only the right things.

He said that the police had the responsibility to protect the people and that it was their duty to continue to cooperate with the police by being disciplined.

"Raffles and weapons don't solve crimes, it is the culture of the people that do so; it is the culture of discipline that the police rely on to police the people because we police the people according to their culture.

"In Abuja for instance , because there is a level of civilisation, the policeman can affect the arrest of four people but in other parts of the country it takes four policemen to arrest one person so that is the situation,'' he said.

Moshood said that there was need for traffic violators to be psychologically examined because of the way they misbehaved with impunity.

This, he said, was because driving was about discipline and safety, adding that when the culture of discipline was cultivated, Nigeria would be a better place.

Ustaz Adeyemi Abdul-Fattah urged Nigerians to have religious cooperation rather than tolerance, adding that the word tolerance made it sound that citizens were a pain in each others' necks.

Abdul-Fattah said that no religion should force another anyone to convert or believe in their own religion because Nigeria was a secular nation and should remain as such.

He urged Nigerians to respect and love one another and learn to have religious cooperation for the good of the nation.

Mr Hamzat Lawal, Convener, Connected Development, expressed the need to practice social justice in Nigeria.

Lawal said that when people were treated equally, there would not be grievances or crisis.

He also expressed the need to ensure that money given for projects reached the communities that it was budgeted for.
