Nollywood Actress Oge Okoye
One of the strangest videos you'd see on social media today is that of Oge Okoye in tears as she visits controversial South African pastor, Alph Lukau of Alleluia Ministries International.

In the video which was shared on Daddy Freeze's Instagram page on Thursday March 28,2019, and has now gone viral, Oge Okoye is seen weeping as she gets a prophecy from the controversial man of God. Alph Lukau in the video tells the Nollywood actress that there are certain people they need to pray against from her life;

"I am speaking acceleration...somebody gat to help you because there are some people we gat to root out because they do not want you to become a media story, do you understand. I just don't want media story. There are some people that we need to kick out then they will know that you came to see Alph Lukau," he said.

The South African pastor then goes on to prophesy on Oge Okoye's daughter who accompanied her to the church.

Nollywood Actress Oge Okoye and Daughter
Since the video hit the Internet, there have been several reactions from people and as usual, one celebrity who has a thing for calling out pastors, Daddy Freeze couldn't hide his thoughts. This time around, the On-Air personality not only called the video, staged but also kicked off the 'Oge Okoye Challenge' where he asked fans to reenact the video and get a chance to win a prize.

Alph Luka finals gets a real actor as Oge Okoye visited him. Alph is the same pastor responsible for Elliot's resurrection. The Oge OKOYE Challenge starts tomorrow from 10am! Another 100k is up for grabs! 5 people, will each receive 20k for acting the best Oge Okoye and Alph Lukau scene," he wrote.

Just in case you don't know who Alpha Lukau is, he is the same pastor who broke the Internet a few weeks ago when he reportedly resurrected a dead man.

An EP from Wurld as he aims for continental appeal on ''Love is Contagious''

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 11:00 PM PDT

Wurld ''Love is Contagious'' EP
Wurld has never been afraid to experiment and push the boundaries and on his latest EP, he showcases how his music has blossomed into a more matured and well-rounded style.

For Wurld, the 'Love Is Contagious' EP is that body of work where he gets it right, winning the hearts of the local audience even with a cosmopolitan style that plays against the prevailing sounds.

Born, Sadiq Onifade, the blue-haired singer weaves a spell not just with his personality but particularly his music, one that keeps you wrapped to his voice at first listen and despite having his single, 'Follow You' alongside Polish disc jockey, DJ Gromee go Gold in 2015, it has taken him a longer period for the audience back home to finally catch up with his music.

From the very first time I got introduced to Wurld, he has demonstrated that irresistible skill for embracing a fusion of sounds not necessarily within the conventions of mainstream pop but still managing to enjoy some level of success and this time he is taking it even further with his experiment of indigenous sounds like Fuji, Juju and Afrobeat to form a wholesome piece.

In 2013, Wurld released his debut body of work, ''Evolution,'' a project he admitted holding onto for two years before its eventual release.

It has further taken him six years of finding himself, blending more sounds and coming back home to reconnect with his roots to put out his second body of work mainly produced by his frequent collaborator, Shizzi.

''I'll be honest, I know I've been lost, I'm still trying, don't stop shining your light on me make I glow,'' are the opening lines on the album from his 2016 released single, 'Show You Off' with Shizzi and Major Lazer's Walshy Fire, a song that brought his biggest mainstream success.

The beautifully delivered record which is lit with a heavy Afrobeat feel is one of the 'poppiest' records I have listened to in a while and for those new to his sound, making it the EP's intro is a smart way to suck listeners straight into his world and enforce rapt attention.

From EDM to Afrobeat and Carribean music, he infuses it all into one song to create a unique spectral thrill.

'Contagious' released as the lead single last year is the follow-up record and the infusion of the delicious Shina Peters 'Afro Juju' inspired vibe ups the ante and turns this to a happy people house party.

On the house influenced 'Gbemisoke,' which translates to 'Lift Me Higher', he doesn't tinker much with the theme as he gently but confidently talks about being stuck to love forever, while 'Paranoid' is perhaps the tape's best written song where he assures his partner of giving the best of love despite her previous relationship experience which didn't end well.

''You screaming 'no one ever loves you tight', but I want you the way you are, so you don't need to play love games.''

'Wishes and Butterflies' is the midpoint of the EP where he restates the earnestness of what he needs most and what he is all about; Love. 'Feel Alright' and 'Candy' are triumphant R&B records as he continues his search for the one on the former while the latter leads him to the path of that sweet person.

'Drown' is another brilliant record that rises from a soft, emotive moment as he battles his personal conflict and addiction to become a slowly stomping anthem well pushed by the detailed lyrics that forms a powerful imagery of one deeply lost in love despite the attempts of everyone around him to help keep his head.

''Man are go outside all day for my zone, Some people waste their time keep calling my phone, Take the keys, everything that I have is your own, Oh my god, I love it, Baby, never leave you''

The EP couldn't have found a more perfect way to bring the music journey to a close than it did with 'So Good', a rich and truly contagious song.

Wurld is yet to become a genuine player in the mainstream space but this EP puts the virtuoso jersey on him, that unabashedly romantic special talent who has found a perfect balance between his songwriting and his search for something bigger.

Love ballads are his bread and butter and on almost every song, he nails it. His richly layered vocal performances added to Shizzi's bright production has seen him expand his range and influences, reaching the level of quality that his talent promises.

There are plenty of oversweet ballad moments and it is clear that in setting out to create a concept album, he falls back on his most striking star quality, which is his song writing and how well he pays attention to laying the lines and phrasing his lyrics while also singing with every emotion that flows through him.

Wurld is here to stay and 'Love Is Contagious' is the cohesive body of work that not only drives home everything that love represents; healing, fighting, magic and fantasy but also confidently backs up his claim as a force to reckon with on the scene.

Warner Music Group (WMG) has announced a pioneering partnership with influential Nigerian label Chocolate City

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 10:30 PM PDT

Audu Maikori, Group CEO of Chocolate City
Under the new deal, which was announced on Thursday March 28, 2019, the partnership aims to grow the reach of African artists around the world, and create new opportunities for global superstars in the region.

Chocolate City whose catalog boasts of heavyweights like Femi Kuti and M.I. Abaga will join Warner's repertoire and receive the support of the company's distribution and artist services via its independent label services division ADA.

In a statement issued by the Group CEO Audu Maikori, "The partnership with Warner Music Group is unique in the sense that our clients get the best of both worlds -- curated and bespoke services by a highly experienced team across Africa and a dedicated global team to further push their music and their brands.

At Chocolate City, we have always been passionate about discovering and developing the best talent across Africa and giving them a platform for global growth," said Audu.

In addition, Warner Music Executive VP Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa Alfonso Perez Soto stated that, "The music scene in Nigeria is so rich and diverse that it's important that we develop bespoke entrepreneurial strategies.

At the same time, we'll keep in mind the lessons learned from other emerging markets, for instance Latin America where we successfully broke local artists globally. We have great affinity with Chocolate City's creative and ambitious approach and we're excited about Warner's role in bringing to life their vision of taking their music worldwide."

The deal, which is designed to broaden the reach of Chocolate City's roster of artists across the world, includes a strategic, reciprocal marketing agreement with WMG South Africa.

The label will also financially invest in Chocolate City to assist in its mission of signing and developing promising local talent. Chocolate City co-founders Audu Maikori and Paul Okeugo, along with executive VPs Jude Abaga and Aibee Abidoye, will continue to lead the company.

With Afrobeats making daily incursions on the global stage through flagbearers like Davido and Wizkid, it is no surprise to see more international platforms partnering with music organizations on the continent.

For WMG, this is the second partnership they will be announcing in the past couple of weeks after signing a licensing deal with streaming platform Boomplay and this also follows Mavin Records investment deal with Kupanda Holdings announced in January.

Chocolate City is also home to Dice Ailes, Nosa, ClassiQ, Ruby Gyang, Blaqbonez, C Kay and Street Billionaires, while its catalog also includes such popular artists as Brymo, Ice Prince and Jesse Jagz.

Tiwa Savage's cover of Kizz Daniel's 'Fvck You' has gotten everyone wondering who she was referring to

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 10:00 PM PDT

Tiwa Savage's cover of Kizz Daniel's 'Fvck You'
The Mavin first lady is setting the internet on fire with her version of the #FuckYouCover which is packed with subliminal lines.

Tiwa Savage has added her vocals to the challenge thrown open by Kizz Daniel following the release of his latest single, 'Fvck You.'

Few weeks ago, Kizz Daniel put out his first official single of the year, 'Fvck You', an emotive song where he shares the tales of a promiscuous partner relating a story of heartbreak and pain.

What followed was a few covers from rising talents that soon sparked a call for his followers and other artists to jump on the trend and send in their versions with Kizz making the instrumentals available online.

While he may have anticipated the multitude of the covers that have since flown in, it is near impossible that he expected the pace at which even the established acts have jumped on it with the song producing close to a hundred covers as at the time of writing this article.

From artists like Sarkodie, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, CDQ, Demmie Vee, Skibii, Young Jonn and more to lesser known names already releasing their own versions, the song has become the biggest thing on the music scape at the moment.

Then on Wednesday, Kizz Daniel encouraged female artists to also send in their versions and barely 24 hours after, one of the biggest names in the industry, Tiwa Savage released a cover of the song and the reactions have been loud and deafeaning.

With lyrics like, ''Bobo you no get shame, when we dey waka to studio to studio, you dey look for fame, two can play the game, first time you go international, mo fo wo mi ran e lo Canada [I paid for your Canada trip], Mr Living Da loca, 50 Bottles you still dey owe escape, carry Sisi Yellow, you dey form posh, say my melanin no dey pop''

Even though no name was mentioned in her lyrics and it could just be the singer telling stories to fit the context of the challenge, the emotions and personalized angles displayed on the song has gotten listeners curious fueling speculations to who she may be referring to in the song.

Tiwa, who has enjoyed a successful career that spans close to a decade has been associated with a number of men since her return to the country and this cover has placed a lens on every one of them as her fans are pushing to unmask the person she is addressing.

https://twitter.com/TiwaSavage/status/1111220493766545408?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1111280249264844800&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fpulsembed.eu%2Fp2em%2FuWBTcI9T5%2F

The one minute audio has already amassed over 150k plays on her social media page within hours of its release.

While the singer is not saying anything to uncover the mystery person, we are curious to know who may have caused her this much pain and has become the victim of her lyrical wrath?

It said the party's executive and members stand firmly behind him in all his struggles to liberate, emancipate and free the country from draconian and autocratic rule.

We’re ready for Adamawa governorship rerun, says INEC

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 07:54 AM PDT

ALL is now set for Adamawa State supplementary governorship election as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday insisted on holding the election today.

The rerun will, however, hold as the court, which earlier granted the injunction against it, is yet to give judgment on a motion by a governorship candidate asking for the nullification of the original March 9 election.

The candidate claimed that his party's logo was not on the ballot paper for the election.

The court, at a sitting yesterday in Yola, adjourned till today for a ruling on preliminary objections against its insistence on jurisdiction over the case and then on the motion seeking the annulment of the election.

With INEC going ahead with the supplementary election despite the continuing court process and the indisposition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to it, the PDP will be going into it with the advantage of an unassailable lead.

The state governorship election on March 9 had been declared inconclusive with the PDP already having 367,471 votes. About 32,467 votes higher than the 334,995 votes polled by the next leading party, the APC.

INEC declared the election inconclusive because the 32,467 margin of lead was lower than the 40,948 registered voters in the polling units, where voting was cancelled.

The polling units where voting was cancelled are 44 and they are located in 14 local government areas.

But, the APC has in many ways shown reluctance towards the supplementary election.

Its state organising secretary, Ahmed Lawan, has been quoted as saying the party would boycott the supplementary election because INEC rushed to pick a week day for it when many voters might be unable to go for voting.

It was unclear if Ahmed was expressing the party's view, because when asked for an update of the party's position on the matter yesterday afternoon, its Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Abdullahi, merely said the party would speak on the matter at the appropriate time.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Kassim Gaidam, said INEC would organise the supplementary election today.

Tinubu: A kingmaker at 67

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 07:40 AM PDT

Tinubu at 67
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Third Republic senator, former Lagos State governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, may have become the main issue in Nigeria's politics. Twelve years after leaving the corridor of power as governor, he has remained relevant in national life. As he celebrates his 67th birthday this week, the eminent politician is again on the front burner.

Not only has the annual colloquium in his honour become a powerful tool of political mobilisation, it has also offered the country a veritable opportunity to always reflect on the journey so far and make realistic projections for the future. The theme of this year's discourse holding at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, is: 'Next Level: Work for People.' It underscores the people-oriented ideas, struggles, battles and exploits of the pro-democracy crusader, seasoned administrator, progressive arrowhead, statesman and citizen of the world. It is the 11th edition.

For his party, it is another time for reassessment and sober reflection. The ruling party survived the plot of retired Generals, who are major political principals and principalities. It won some states. It lost others in the polity. As APC chieftains gather for Tinubu's birthday, they may have to also brainstorm on the way forward on the sidelines of the colloquium. How will the party handle the election of principal National Assembly officers to avoid the mistake of 2015? Will there be party supremacy and discipline? How will APC resolve the Zamfara debacle? Has post-election reconciliation not become compelling? Will the party henceforth put its house in order?

In post-Bola Ige era, Tinubu has remained the most outstanding Yoruba political megastar with a large following. Across the six regions, he is being perceived as a rallying point and national asset, whose contributions were critical to the enthronement of the first post-1999 humane and progressive government at the centre.

Tinubuism encapsulates the time-tested philosophy of service premised on the evergreen Awoist theme of "Freedom for All, Life More Abundant,' and driven by the permanent and non-negotiable devotion to the creed of progressive welfarism in a polity still struggling to resolve the multiple crises of nation-building, conflicts of political participation, illusion of hope for gainful employment, contradictions in education, insatiable quest for social welfare,  and thirst for the restoration of sanctity of the ballot box.

The former governor is a man of many parts, although his political profile has now dwarfed his rich resume as boardroom guru, strategic economic planner and socialite. Former House of Representatives member and Senior Presidential Assistant on the Diaspora Abike Dabiri-Erewa described Tinubu as a dynamic leader, consummate politician, consistent democrat, towering progressive arrowhead, seasoned administrator, financial surgeon, great organiser, powerful mobiliser, master strategist, tested and trusted visionary leader, courageous fighter, man of foresight, defender of the oppressed, apostle of rule of law, foremost philanthropist, and man of the people.

It is incontrovertible that Tinubu is a dynamic leader, who is always bubbling with energy, zeal and enthusiasm. This may have been the bedrock of his successes in his chosen fields of endeavor. There is no evidence to show that he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He has thread the long, narrow and tortious path to limelight, and survived through the dint of hard work and divine grace.  But, the stress and strains of the past, which he had to pass through as a struggler, are hardly taken into consideration by detractors who are envious of his indomitable status.

Tinubu is a consummate politician. The Lion of Bourdillion understands the language of politics, which, is a great deal of competition and struggle. The ultimate goal is the attainment of power, which in his view, is not served a la carte. His incisive wit, power of foresight and strategic thinking are vital assets. Although the Federal Government waged war against him as governor, he survived. While the political earthquake swept across the Southwest in 2003, Tinubu became the last man standing. If Tinubu had slept on guard in 2003, Nigeria would have become a one-party state under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He resisted the intimidation by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and converted his weak position as an opposition figure to a position of strength. From Lagos, the battle to reclaim the Southwest begun. Ironically, one of the states, Oyo, may have gone back into conservative captivity.

Tinubu can also be counted among the consistent democrats and progressive arrowheads who have never jumped ship. Having placed his hand on the plough, he has not looked back. As governor, there were occasions when he had to bow to suggestions on governance by his cabinet of talents. The political leader has always honed his skills of negotiation, consultation, and reconciliation. His associates often allude to the fact that he has never claimed to have a monopoly of knowledge. He is always willing to bow to superior arguments.

As a leader of the progressive bloc, Tinubu's greatest under the banner of the APC is the installation of a progressive government at the centre in 2015 and 2019. The defining moment was 2015 presidential election.  It is to the credit of Tinubu that the Southwest agreed to participate in mainstream politics and the zone has not regretted it. Unlike under the Jonathan administration, the Buhari administration is giving the Southwest a sense of belonging.

In the Third Republic, the celebrator became a man of the future. He had taken the politics of the populous Lagos West by storm. He won the highest vote as a senator in 1991 on the platform of the proscribed Social Democratic Party (SDP), defeating Mrs. Kemi Nelson of the banned National Republican Convention (NRC). The bulk of the votes came from Alimoso sub-zone, which has since been referred to as 'Tinubu country.' Tinubu shone like a star in the Upper Chamber. Yet, his senatorial career was not insulated from vicissitudes. The all-civilian National Assembly had a military president, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, to contend it. When the transition programme finally failed as designed by the Evil Genius, Tinubu's career as a federal legislator was aborted by the Abacha regime, which sacked the elected leadership.

His boss at Mobil Oil Company, Chief Pius Akinyelure, had advised him to retrace his steps, if politics became hotter. The financial surgeon was the treasurer of the company. But, Tinubu never went back to the boardroom. He returned to the drawing board to politically strategise for the future. He joined the pro-democracy movement, National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), to fight for popular rule. By the time civil rule was restored, the symbol of the struggle, Chief Moshood Abiola, had died mysteriously in detention.

Although Tinubu wanted to return to the Senate in 1999, fate decided otherwise. He was elected governor on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD). As governor, he presided over an administration that was a model between 1999 and 2007.

To observers, Tinubu became a key player in national politics, following his success at state and regional levels. For him, charity should begin at home. He had a 24-year development plan for the transformation of Lagos State.  Tinubu years in the Centre of Excellence were remarkable for progress. As governor, he jerked up the internally generated revenue from the N600,000 monthly to billions of naira. Today, Lagos can boast of over N33 billion monthly IGR. The implication is that the state can survive without federal allocation. Also, Tinubu fought the infrastructural battle in the city state. He constructed roads, built hospitals and schools, created opportunities for employment and re-energised the transport sector. He initiated the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. The judiciary reforms he introduced were legendary. Tinubu pioneered the payment of NECO and WAEC fees for students.

The former governor also created additional 37 local councils, based on popular demand. When the allocations to the councils were seized by the Federal Government, his team of experts invented a creative financial engineering that made the councils to survive the federal onslaught. As governor, Tinubu contributed to the debate on the national question as an apostle of true federalism and restructuring. He was also an electoral reforms curator. To him, the sanctity of the ballot box is critical to the survival of democracy.

Tinubu handed over to Babatunde Fashola (SAN) in 2007. After the expiration of his two terms of eight year I 2015, the lawyer-turned politician handed over to Akinwunmi Ambode, an accountant. On May 29, Ambode will pass the baton to Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Reflecting on his achievements, the Lagos State APC Governorship Advisory Council (GAC), observed that Tinubu succeeded in raising worthy successors. "What you celebrate today is the reality of unprecedented, steady and consistent progress in the Centre of Excellence, the foundation of which you laid as the first Fourth Republic Governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007.

"It is gratifying to note that, in this dispensation, you have led the way in raising a crop of quality, devoted, dynamic, focused and result-driven leaders, who have continued to sustain the progressive vision at the state and national levels. Your strength lies in your powers of ideas, risk-taking, courage, resilience, vision of a welfarist society and leadership by example," it added.
Among the leaders that have been raised by Tinubu are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), former Lagos State Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Fasola, Ambode, Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, Minister of Information Alhaji Lai Mohammed, former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola,  one-time Finance Commissioner Wale Edun, Babatunde Fowler of Federal Inland Revenue Service, and Opeyemi Bamidele.s

Tinubu and other compatriot floated the Action Congress (AC) in 2007. The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) reclaimed the Southwest, although the battle shifted from the ballot box to the court.

However, 2015 was the turning point. Tinubu's gospel of strength in unity paid off. Reflecting on the 2015 calculations, one of his associates said he re-invented the theory of the slaughter's slab to suit the collective aspiration of the opposition. In Tinubu's view, there will be no going back for the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), led by Buhari, and Prince Tony Momoh,  the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), led by Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the ACN, led by Chief Bisi Akande and a section of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), led by Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, if they agreed to merge together into a single party.

The merger, he explained, would lead to the permanent withdrawal of their certificates by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Tinubu, the acknowledged party financier, provided selfless leadership and the quantum of resources for the novel project. He urged his colleagues to take the risk and be optimistic about the future. The struggle heralded President Buhari's success at the poll and the abortion of PDP's dream of ruling for the next 60 years.

Party faithful have also hailed his contribution to the President Buhari's second term challenge. As the Chief 'Reconcliator' and Co-chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, APC won a resounding victory in the just-concluded poll. Also, the party under his leadership retained Lagos State for APC and produced Governor-elect Sanwo-Olu, who defeated Jimi Agbade of the PDP at the poll.

In politics and private life, Tinubu is reputed for philanthropy. His abode is a Mecca of sorts. He is a cheerful giver, benefactor, godfather and defender of the oppressed.

Tinubu holds honorary titles from many towns across the country. He is the Jabagan of Borgu Kingdom, Aare of Ile-Oluji and Aare Ago of Egbaland.

But, there are many aspects of his life that may not be known, until he opens up in his autobiography. When the autobiography is written, it will inspire the future generations.

Many stakeholders believe that Tinubu still has a lot to contribute to national greatness.

Paying tribute to Tinubu, House of Representatives member-elect and former Lagos State Works Commissioner Ganiyu Johnson said he is a talent hunter. "Your greatest strength lies in your ability to raise a crop of leaders who are building on the progressive foundation laid by patriotic pathfinders of history," he added.

An APC youth, Toyin Balogun, described Tinubu as a source of inspiration to the younger generation. He said: "Your pedigree, sagacity, tenacity of purpose, hard work, resilience, courage and loyalty to worthy progressive causes have continued to serve as sources of inspiration to the younger generation in the vineyard of people-oriented, welfarist politics."

Lagos APC secretary Dr Wale Ahmed, who described Tinubu as an oak tree offering protective shield to progressives nationwide, said he has no equal in mentoring and role modelling. Ahmed, a former legislator and Special Duties Commissioner added: "God has equally blessed you with a good wife, Distinguished Senator Oluremi Tinubu (OON), who share your vision of greater good for the greatest number of our people."

To House of Representatives member James Faleke said Tinubu's name will continue to resonate in he hearts of lovers of democracy, urging other politicians to emulate his virtues.

Hailing the celebrator, Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa said: "Your consistent struggle, selfless and constant sacrifices over the years have continued to define you as a true and worthy leader. You are indeed, an epitome of hard work, discipline, and patriotism. Without doubt, this generation is highly blessed to have your personality as a great mentor and trail blazer."

Sokoto APC alleges attack on supporters by PDP

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 07:32 AM PDT

IRKED and threatened by the wanton and unprovoked attacks on its supporters across the state, the Sokoto state chapter of the All Progressives Congress has called on the security agencies to take necessary steps to instantly halt the heinous attacks and bring perpetrators to justice to serve as deterrent.

" Unless the security agencies do the needful, they will be putting public confidence in them to jeopardy", it pointed out.

In the same vein, the opposition APC in the state also said it had chosen to seek redress for the injustices meted the party in the rerun governorship polls through democratic and legal means.

While it was watching and expecting that culprits and perpetrators of the attacks were unravelled and made to the full wrath of the law, the party said:" We are aware that security agencies have made some arrests in Tambuwal, Goronyo, Sokoto and other places."

In a release signed and issued to reporters in Sokoto Thursday by the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Sadiq Isa Achida, the party also stated that it was compelled to sound caution to the perpetrators and their sponsors that "enough is enough."

The party according to the release titled" Enough of the PDP Atrocities in Sokoto" said its desire for peace to reign in the state should not and must not be misconstrued as a sign of weakness.

" PDP thugs attacked and killed Sani Aliyu, an APC supporter in Giyawa village of Goronyo local government. Another APC supporter was also attacked in Sifawa, Bodinga local government, now lying unconscious in UDUTH as a result of the physical assault on him.

" Highly placed religious clerics were also attacked and their families maimed and injured. Our supporters have become easy targets in their homes, markets, mosques and business premises almost on a daily basis since the declaration of the rerun elections results by INEC.

" Our opponents of the PDP should note that they do not have monopoly of the ability to perpetrate violence", Achida cautioned.

However, the opposition party in the state which urged its supporters not to react in any way and should continue to be law-abiding citizens, added" we hope that our state will be saved from the danger that could befall our people should those responsible for maintaining peace in our state fail in their duty as we assure our supporters in the state that the party is working assiduously to defend our interest and we are confident of being victorious soon ", the release concluded

Akume petitions Election Tribunal over Benue North-West senatorial result

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 07:15 AM PDT

George Akume
Sen. George Akume, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for Benue North-West Senatorial Zone, has prayed the Governorship, National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in Makurdi to declare him winner of the Feb. 23 elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the tribunal is expected to commence sitting in Makurdi after it has received petitions and responses from such respondents.

Akume and the APC in their 336-paged petition obtained on Thursday from the tribunal's secretariat in Makurdi, is challenging the decision the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that returned Mr Emmanuel Orker-Jev of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the election.

NAN reports that Orker-Jev of the PDP polled 157,726 to Akume's 115,422 votes.

The petitioners in the suit (Akume and APC) in an alternative prayer, urged the court to order fresh polls where elections did not hold or were marred by malpractices or irregularities, especially in polling units within Buruku, Guma, Gboko, Gwer West and Gwer East registration areas/wards.

The petitioners said they will rely on 118 witnesses to prosecute their case, which is premised on two grounds; that the first respondent( Mr Emmanuel Orker Jev) was not duly elected by majority of lawful votes and that the election was invalid by alleged corruption and non-compliance with Electoral Act 2010.

They also averred that the series of letters of complaints by them to the INEC or its agents while the elections were ongoing were neglected.

"The total number of accredited voters as recorded in Forms EC8C(1), EC8D(1) and EC8(1) by INEC agents manually are higher than the accredited voters recorded in the Card Reader Accreditation Sheet for the Presidential and National Assembly Elections, held on 23rd day of February, 2019.

"The number of votes cast in the local government areas of Buruku, Gboko, Guma, Gwer East, Gwer West, Makurdi and Tarka are higher than the number of accredited voters in each of the local government area above mentioned".

Akume further alleged that elections were not conducted in compliance with the Act in some parts of Bruruku, Gboko, Guma, Gwer West, Gwer East, Makurdi wards.

"Some polling units in Buruku, Gboko, Guma, Gwer East, Gwer West, the total number of votes cast at the election far exceeded the total number of the PVCs collected by voters in those polling units and registration areas."

The petitioners also alleged that Mr Mike Gusa, the Benue Commissioner for Justice, was buying votes on the Election Day at Tse-Biaga Open Space polling unit between N500 to N1,000 with the aid of thugs, which were answerable to him and the PDP.

Private clinic where baby died not registered

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 05:07 AM PDT

Hospital
HJ CLAIROOWEN Medical Centre and Maternity – the health facility where 15-month-old Taye died during a blood transfusion on Sunday – at Egbeda, a Lagos suburb is not registered, The Nation learnt yesterday.

Officials at the State Ministry of Health told our Correspondent that the details of the hospital could not be found in the Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA).

Situated at 10, Busari Street, HJ CLAIROOWEN, hit the news wave following the death of the twin girl, whose parents alleged was infused blood without screening.

The child's father, Adeola Adetunji, accused a paediatrician at the Igando General Hospital, identified simply as Dr. Joy of luring his wife from the government hospital to her private clinic on Sunday night where his daughter died due to negligence.

At the Alausa State Secretariat yesterday, it was gathered Health Commissioner Dr. Jide Idris had directed HEFAMAA, the Lagos State Hospital Service Commission (LSHSC) and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health to get to the root of the case.

If found out that the doctor breached the rules of engagement at the government hospital, she may be disengaged from service.

The rules forbid the referral of patients from public hospitals to privately-run health institutions.

A source within the ministry, who pleaded for anonymity, said: "There are too many issues involved here. It was an offence for the doctor to refer the patient to a private clinic. What the rule says is that if there is need for referral, such patient should be referred to another government facility that had the ability to manage the particular case.

"I am a civil servant and cannot speak to you officially but I can tell you that heads will roll over this issue. The report will be submitted to the Commissioner and he is the one to talk to you on it."

An official of the agency, who contacted this newspaper for details on the issue, said HEFAMAA agents were already deployed to the area for investigation.

The official stated that there were certain standards that must be met before any hospital or clinic is approved by the agency, adding that if the logo or symbol of HEFEMAA was not engraved in the hospital, then it was not a recognised place.

The source said: "I can tell you that serious investigation is going on. The commissioner is interested in this case and has directed comprehensive findings. Be assured that nothing will be covered.

"When you first told me the name of the hospital, I went to HEFAMAA office and they checked their system but it is not there. Now that we have the correct spelling, I have also given it to them. They are investigating.
"One thing is certain, if it is a registered or approved centre, it will have HEFAMAA logo. Once the logo isn't there, then, it is not a registered or recognised place." Already, the Child Protection Network (CPN) and the Public Advice Centre (PAC) have reached out to the bereaved family and pledged to help them get justice.

Similarly, the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) had commiserated with the bereaved family, empathising with them in their moment of grieve.

NMA President Francis Fadule, who chatted with our correspondent yesterday, said the NMA would await the outcome of the findings by the government which would be forwarded to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

According to him, the allegations against the doctor were not just on alleged professional misconduct, as two of them fell within the purview of the state government to probe.

He said: "If the doctor erred, it could either be professional misconduct or that she treated wrongly. The doctor is employed by the state and the state has its own process of dealing with anyone who has gone against their rules of engagement. I know the state has set up an investigative panel to deal with that.

"If she transfused a blood that is not cross-matched, then, that is against professional ethics and the NMA will take action after the investigation by the state government.

"Thirdly is the registration of the private clinic. That one is totally within the purview of the Lagos State Government under the HEFAMAA and they have a process to deal with that.

"Two of the processes have the state government to look into. After the findings by the government, it will go to the MDCN and once the doctor is found culpable, she will face the disciplinary tribunal which is at the stage of a Federal High Court and pronouncement will be made. Those are the ways the medical professional checks practitioners.

"I want to use this opportunity to commiserate with the family of the deceased. As NMA, we feel pained that one of the twins has died. NMA stands for professionalism. We shall make our stand known and we shall proffer ways of dealing with such situations after receiving the report of the investigation that has been set up."

Dr. Idris told our correspondent he would revert today (Thursday) after he must have seen the report of the investigation.

Actress Oge Okoye visits pastor Lukau
On Air Personality Daddy Freeze has made fun of Nollywood actress Oge Okoye for visiting Pastor Alph Lukau's church.

The actress visited the Alleluia International Ministries church with her daughter last year and they were brought out to the front of the church by the pastor who then proceeded to prophesy onto her life.

In a video which recently resurfaced, pastor Lukau made some prophesies which reduced Oge Okoye to tears.

"Is this your daughter," Pastor Lukau asked The at some point.

"Yes," the Nigerian actress replied.

"She's special," Pastor Lukau said and Oge passionately replied, "yes, I know."

Without being told, the pastor mentioned that the child's name is "Chibuike Crystal" and Oge was visibly impressed by his ability to tell her daughter's name.

 Daddy Freeze
Oge's visit to the controversial Pastor came before the pastor trended for bringing a "dead" man back to life then giving him food to eat.

Things began to fall apart for the pastor when the funeral houses embroiled in the fake miracle opened up and called out the pastor for deceiving them and using their hearse to fake a miracle.

Sharing the video on Twitter, @KadunaBae wrote;

So Actress Oge Okoye visits Pastor Alph Luka. Same pastor that acted the fake resurrection 😨

The video by the former stripper turned rapper didn't sit well with some fans who wondered why hell is not breaking loose at her confession.

Some quarters even called on the men she must have done such to to come forward and form a male version of #Metoo, seeing that the female version has sent men to jail even when none of the men openly confessed like Cardi B did in the video.

2 Year Old Little Girl Missing from MFM Church During Service
According to a report by Punch Metro, the family of two-year-old Esther Ojo is in distraught after she reportedly went missing during a Sunday service at a Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries' church in Lagos.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at the Pen Cinema, Agege branch of the church.
It was gathered that Esther had gone to use the toilet when she went missing.
Esther's mother, Bola, said all efforts to find her had yielded no result.

She stated,

"We went to the church together and I am one of the children's teachers. As of 12.31pm, we were still together and I was cautioning her not to step on the child sleeping on the bed until someone called me and I left where she was.

"We were almost through with the second service and I was very busy because I was rounding off the programme. The other teachers told me that Esther said she wanted to urinate and a child of a church worker took her to the toilet. The girl was the one that used to help me with Esther whenever I was busy and Esther was already used to her.

"The girl said she placed my daughter on the potty and left her there when somebody sent her on an errand to buy pure water. When she returned from the errand, I asked after my daughter and she said when she checked her in the toilet, she was not there. Ever since then, we have been looking for Esther.

"We first reported the case at the Pen Cinema Police Station, and we have also gone to the Area 'G' Command and the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Alagbon. They promised to radio other stations, but they later said they had not heard anything about her."

However, a source close to the family alleged that the church was trying to cover up the matter as it had failed to bring the incident to the notice of the General Overseer, Dr Daniel Olukoya,

The source said,

"We were in the church on Monday and Tuesday. We told the church to bring it to the notice of the GO so that efforts could be intensified to find her, but the church is trying to extricate itself from the incident despite the fact that the girl went missing on the church premises. Up till now, the GO has not been informed.

"We have been to the police station and we have also been to the Oba's palace. We hope to find her soon."

When the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, was contacted, he said investigation into the matter was ongoing.

"We got the report and we have launched an investigation into the matter. We are making efforts to locate her whereabouts," he stated.
