Earlier this morning, we had reported that the video for Tiwa Savage's song, 'One' which was initially taken down by streaming platform, YouTube following allegations of copyright infringement by a third party believed to be Ajibola Olumuyiwa Danladi, popularly known as Danny Young had been restored as the allegations could not be proven. But instead of a happy ending, Danny Young has now taken the case further with a lawsuit filed against her at the Federal Hight Court, Lagos, dated February 13, 2019.   This was made known by Danny Young on his Instagram page with the caption, ''Tiwa! I know pple love u! Even me... BUT I still have to sue u bcos u stole my sh*t! a simple dialogue would av solved this but u prefer it this way. Now we will be in court discussing some 200,000,000 Damages.'' In a press release by the law firm representing him, Creative Legal and signed by its Principal Attorney, Justin Ige, it stated the reason why the decision was made, "Piracy is bad enough, but it is perhaps worse when creative people appear to completely disrespect the intellectual property rights of fellow creatives. Such conduct should not be without due consequences" A lay man may not understand what we are fighting for as it is more technical than just the lyrics. Nigeria is a place where writers do not get credits from the artiste they wrote songs for because the artiste wants to get all the glory alone. Producers also do not know that they have a right to royalties even after being paid for the beat.  If I contribute one word to your composition, I automatically have a right to credits as one of the writers. This is a world standard and anything less is unacceptable especially when coming from an artiste that has international exposure." Since the allegations were initially made, Tiwa Savage has refused to respond to it in any terms Pulse has contacted Tiwa Savage's representatives for comment but are yet to get any response. For celebrities, Instagram is one social media platform where they get to showcase not just their crafts but also everything that has to do with their personal life. However, some celebrities do not really put out a lot about their personal lifestyle on Instagram while for some, all you need to do is click on their handle and you'd find out which city they are waking up in, what lunch they had even their kid's results (Just kidding). Over the last few years, due to so much criticism and backlash, some of these celebs have at one point or the other decided to take a break from Instagram. For others, they simply just delete all their photos. These actions most times come unexpected, giving fans reasons to worry about the basis for these decisions. Fans woke up sometime in 2018 to a shocking surprise of their favourite female celeb, Mercy Johnson deleting almost all her photos on her Instagram page. More shocking were the photos of her husband, which raised a lot of eye brawls. Some people began to speculate that there was a crisis in her marriage. The voluptuous actress later came out to deny the claims. 3. D'banj  For D'banj, Instagram isn't just a platform where he shares with fans his career journey but also a place to them updated with his personal lifestyle. This hasn't always been the case because a few years, D'banj basically kept his Instagram page on a professional level. In 2014, D'banj surprised fans and followers on Instagram when he took down a lot of his photos from the platform. Early in March 2019, Tiwa Savage carried out the unimaginable as she practically cleared out her Instagram page leaving just three photos behind. Fans gathered in her comment section in small camps to argue over the reason behind the decision. Well, she hasn't revealed the reason behind her decision and we think everyone should move on. 5. Daddy Freeze  One of the most celebrated and talked about On-Air personalities on radio is unarguably Daddy Freeze. His decades on the airwaves have made him not just a celeb but a force to reckon with in the entertainment industry. A few years ago, Daddy Freeze began the #FreeTheSheeple on Instagram where he dragged several men of God of using the church to enrich themselves. Nigeria electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has made a dramatic u-turn, and declared Jerry Alagboso of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the Orlu/Orsu/Oru East federal constituency election in Imo state.INEC had earlier declared the election inconclusive, but the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Francis Chukwuemeka Ezeonu on Monday declared Alagboso as winner.In announcing the result, the Returning Officer, Prof. Innocent Maduforom on Monday at the Imo INEC office, said that Alagboso polled 21273 to defeat the AA candidate, Dr. Ikenna Ihezuo, who polled 2,171 votes and APC's Edwin Iheanacho, with 20061 votes.Giving reasons for the reversal, Ezeonu said that the Returning Officer did not apply the electoral guidelines properly in declaring the election inconclusive, Daily Trust reports.According to him, "The electoral guidelines had stipulated that areas where card readers were not deployed, either as a result of violence or compromise, such areas should have zero returns."Some of the areas declared inconclusive actually had results, while others didn't. Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has been blamed by a group, known as Niger Delta Freedom Volunteer Force (NDFVF), for allegedly causing the defeat suffered by the presidential candidate of the main opposition party, the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the just concluded presidential election.They also congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari at his re-election in the poll and called on Alhaji Atiku and the PDP to accept the defeat as the sincere outcome of the exercise.They stated these in a communiqué issued at the end of emergency meeting in Port Harcourt last weekend and traced the failure to the party in the just held Presidential polls to the party's national convention held in Port Harcourt, the state capital, last year, The Nation reports.The document jointly signed by the President and the Secretary of the group, Harry Lawson and Preye Wilson respectively, alleged that Governor Wike hijacked the convention and installed an incompetent leader who could not deliver victory to the party in the Presidential election.They said, "Atiku simply lost because Wike and Secondus hijacked the party structure to themselves before the elections, former governor of Ogun state and Director General of Atiku's presidential campaign, Otunba Gbenga Daniel was nowhere to be found close to him again. It was just impossible for PDP to have won."Wike and Secondus in their selfishness sold out the party in Kano state where they would have secured more votes, by insisting that former governor of the State, Rabiu Kwankwaso take fifty five percent (55%) of the state PDP exco. "This decision infuriated another former governor of the State, Ibrahim Shekarau and forced him out of the party to join the All Progressive Congress (APC), where he delivered the state to President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC, producing the highest votes from all states in the country," The group said. They congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari, on his victory and urged Alhj. Atiku, the PDP and the entire South-South, to accept outcome of the February 23rd presidential election and work with the president to move Nigeria forward. They also condemn the wild spread violence that claimed several innocent lives during the presidential and national assembly elections in South-South especially in Rivers state, and called for a peaceful and credible governorship and state assembly elections in the region come Saturday, March 23, 2019. The electoral empire of Nigeria, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reacted to the suspension of Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha and Ogun state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).It could be recalled that Friday last week, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) suspended Okorocha and Amosu for alleged anti-party activities.A statement by APC spokesman, Lanre Issa-Onilu said the NWC would also issue a query to the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu over his glaring anti-party activities, which greatly affected the fortunes of our candidates in the recently-conducted Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.But reacting, INEC's Commissioner for Information and Voters Education, Festus Okoye, said Okorocha and Amosun's suspension by APC was an internal party affair.According to Okoye, the governors' suspension has no bearing on their fresh status as senators-elect.Speaking on the suspension and possible expulsion of Okorocha and Amosun by their party, Okoye told Thisday on Sunday: "The validity of the returns made are within the purview of the commission and the Election Petitions Tribunals. In a report by The Nation News on Sunday, March 3, 2019, it was alleged that the actress had failed to obey a request asking her to show up in court. As a result, Justice Adedayo Akintoye, insisted that she must be apprehended in an order reportedly given on Monday, January 21, 2019. "The defendant has been served with hearing notice. The proof of service is in the court's file," a statement from prosecutor Y.A Pitan reads. The counsel mentioned this while asking for a bench warrant to arrest the actress who has reportedly been evasive.  Monalisa Chinda is alleged to be found wanting for refusing to fulfill an obligation to pay tax to the Lagos State government for her business located in Lekki on the Lagos Island.  The allegation has resulted in a 2-count charge, one of which alleged "failure to furnish and file annual tax returns for the purpose of personal income taxation with the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) contrary to Section 94(1) of the Personal Income Tax Act 2004 (as amended)." According to The Nation, the bench warrant to arrest the actress shall extend up until the month of April, having failed to appear in court two month earlier.  In a video she posted on Instagram, she mentioned that after running, the other woman she went to agreed to sell to her but refused to accept cash from her. Over 20 innovators from Kenya joined 20 contemporaries from Basque to take part in the Africa Basque Challenge (ABC) in Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain. The challenge was to find social and technical solutions to help bridge the urban-rural divide in today's rapidly urbanising world. The winning team, which was made up of young people from the Basque County and Kenya, was selected by an expert jury. Their idea, called HOCO, seeks to boost sustainable development in rural areas by producing construction materials out of coconut waste. They were awarded €6,000 of funding and six months of mentoring to help them bring their idea to life. HOCO's winning team comprised of Gaston Okamika, entrepreneur – Friday Roseline, social worker – Shelia Koech, environmental scientist – Alba Resano, entrepreneur – Pol Molas, architect. Sharing her experience about taking part in the Challenge, Sheila Koech said : ABC has been an eye opener for me. Our team spirit was exceptional and I believe that it played a big role towards our success. Going forward our teamwork will be stronger than before. I now believe that with determination and hard work everything is possible. Our multicultural and multidisciplinary background will go a long way in defining our objective. I am proud to be part of ABC. Friday Roseline added, "We are honoured to receive the prize, the journey was not easy, starting from the moment when the project was only a small idea until today much work has been done. Challenges also arose, but working together as a team transformed the idea into reality. Alba Resano from the winning team from Spain added: "Participating in the ABC has allowed us to meet and build something incredible to make a change. From now on, we have a commitment with ourselves and Kenyan society to make this happen!" Three runners up were also awarded €3,000 to help develop their ideas. Other innovations pitched in the final included an idea to reuse charcoal from food waste into aromas for culinary use, business plans for a zero emission electric-motorbike and a scheme to give access to safe and re-usable sanitary products for women and young girls in rural areas. The chosen entrepreneurs were picked from over 200 young professionals who applied to participate in the programme. Speaking about the Challenge Asier Alea, General Manager of trade promotion and tourism at the government of Biscay said, "The ABC is the first hub-to-hub competition for entrepreneurs, linking innovators in Kenya and the Basque Country. Kenya was chosen because it is known as the Silicon Valley of Africa and it's a thriving hub for entrepreneurs. Providing a dynamic ecosystem for start-ups. The idea is to broaden the innovators horizons, show them the world is their market and that all entrepreneurs think the same regardless of their geography." The selected 'teampreneurs' had earlier met in a boot camp in Nairobi in November, where they received training on brainstorming, market exploration and planning to hone and develop their ideas. They also visited an innovation centre in Kibera. The gap between urban and rural communities is a major issue for us all today. In 2016, only 77 per cent of the world's rural population had access to electricity, compared to nearly 97 per cent of those living in urban areas. Johanna Juselius is a senior advisor of EU Affairs and is in charge of managing the Smart Specialisation Strategy of the Helsinki-Uusimaa region in Finland. MTN and Ericsson have signed a five-year contract extension to deploy new products and provide Managed Services for Mobile Money services in 13 countries across Africa and the Middle East. The new contract includes deployment of Ericsson Wallet Platform in new markets on top of existing 13 countries. The deployment of Ericsson's Wallet Platform will bring mobile financial services to MTN customers. The strategic partnership between MTN and Ericsson will introduce Ericsson Wallet Platform across the operator's footprint. MTN Group has Wallet Platform subscribers in 13 countries in Africa. Ericsson is providing MTN with an m-commerce solution that includes Ericsson Wallet Platform, systems integration, operational support and solution development. MTN Group Executive for Mobile Financial Services, Serigne Dioum says, "A stable, secure and reliable platform is one of the fundamentals to building successful mobile financial services. Through this partnership, we look forward to working with Ericsson to further enhance our value proposition and expand our ecosystem." The five-year revenue sharing extended agreement includes a host of digital payment and transactional capabilities in line with MTN's vision. Ajanaku, accompanied by thousands of his supports at his Oke Ado base noted that his absence and that of his supporters was felt in the APC camp. He said his return to the APC was made possible by the "timely and uncommon intervention of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi who unequivocally fast-tracked the whole process, through his assurances of immediate re-integration of my followers into the party hierarchy and other worthy considerations." Reading his text entitled; "I am back to my root", the business mogul noted that his consultations with his supporters, loyalists, party leaders, elders approved the request and insistence of the APC governorship candidate for him to return to the ruling party. He vowed to work for the success of the APC candidates at the governorship and house of assembly levels. Ajanaku said, "The only constant phenomenon in life is change. "In my press statement when I joined the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), after my unpalatable experience in the All Progressives Congress (APC), as I was denied the House of Representatives ticket, I emphasized that my supporters and loyalists are the determining factor in every political decision I take. Though, I didn't win the election, the results of the election reflected our conspicuous absence in the APC. "Having consulted widely with the relevant stakeholders – the party hierarchy, public opinion leaders, supporters, loyalists and well-wishers, including the APC Governorship Candidate, Chief Adebayo Adelabu (Penkelemesi), who personally insisted on my comeback, I , Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku hereby succumbed to the public pressure to return to All Progressives Congress (APC). "This became necessary in order to support the governorship and state assembly candidates of the party and to further brighten their chances at polls on Saturday, March 9, 2019. "In view of this, I hereby direct my followers to start mobilising for the APC in their respective wards. Atiku, via a Tweet on his Twitter handle on Monday, said: "My son in law and lawyer have been detained, one for 3 weeks and the other recently. They are paying the price for supporting me. I urge those now persecuting them to remember that a government's mandate is to pursue peace and justice for all, and not just those who support them.' Atiku's tweet is coming two days after he raised an alarm of alleged moves to make him congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, following the outcome of February 23 election. In a statement by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, on Saturday, the PDP candidate said his son-in-law, who is also the finance director of his group of companies, was arrested in Abuja. According to the statement, officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly invaded the Maitama residence of Babalele (Atiku's son-in-law) in Abuja. Atiku insisted that he would under no circumstance "mortgage the mandate of Nigerians as freely expressed on the 23rd of February 2019."
