Ghanaian Prophet Kumchacha says he's obsessed with the nakedness of women

Ghanaian Prophet Kumchacha says he's obsessed with the nakedness of women
Prophet Kumchacha who is the founder and Leader of Heaven's Gate Ministry has made a confession about his obsession with the nakedness of women.

According to the man of God, due to his obsession, he had to hide behind bathrooms just to watch ladies take their bath.

He bragged that he is an expert when it comes to stretching his neck to the desired angle to watch women while they wash down in the bathroom.

He said; "At my hometown in Akyem, I was so notorious for hiding behind bathrooms and watching the nakedness of women when they were bathing, to the extent that I earned a nickname for it".

He further went on to add that, he might fall flat if a woman tempts him for sexual intercourse because he is a mere mortal with emotions.

"Even if I'm a 'Man of God', know that I'm a man first before God comes into the equation, so if you tempt me that way, I may fall", he summed up.

Gideon Okeke once begged to play a gay role in movie says Activist
An activist, Olumide Makanjuola has reacted to actor Gideon Okeke condemning the same sex marriage between designer Marc Jacobs and his partner.

Shortly after news of the wedding went viral, Gideon Okeke took to social media with the below quote.

You go world…
For the Effeminacy of the Man.
You go world…
For making the word SODOMY seem cool.
You go world…
For negating the order set by The Creator.
The one who makes NO MISTAKES.
You go world…
For serving your protestant agenda to generations unborn. Building a community inside of humanity.
You go world.
But I and my household are NOT of this world.
So we don't know what Yall be talking 'bout.
YES I SAID IT. (2nd Timothy vs 3)

Reacting to Gideon's post, the activist Olumide Makanjuola called out the actor with claims that he once lobbied to play the role of a gay in a movie.

I can't stop laughing. Same Gideon that was trying to hustle for a queer role in a film through a major PR director in Nigeria? Issaokay sha, everyone got to trend somehow. But again, if you know, you know. #PeaceOut

Lepacious Bose – Guys in shrine are better and safer than Church guys in a relationship

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 05:30 AM PDT

Lepacious Bose
Comedienne Lepacious Bose has stated that guys in shrine are better and safer than Church guys when it comes to relationship these days.

According to her, ladies who are in a relationship with a guy from a shrine already know what they signed up for, unlike the uncertainty that comes with church guys.

Lepacious Bose made this known on Instagram where she shared a picture which shows how lovers of old shoot their shot at each other, unlike how we have it now with social media.

"These days you don't even know if you are dating a human being or a ghost; na so so dm and pinging toasting. You go don marry ritualist before you know.

I applaud those who take the risk and end up with great spouses but the stories I have heard about online hook ups are so scary. Generally we live in a crazy world now, you can actually live with a serial killer for years and not know, na make God Dey protect person.

I remember those days ladies would believe the guys they meet in church would be the good ones, hiaaan these days the ones you meet in shrine are better and even safer. At least with them you know what you signed up for…. like I always say TO THE WAYO MAN, GOD IS A WAYO GOD. Lord have mercy…. the things I have heard hmmmm….. it is well."

BBNaija Alex shares her experience with a hungry man at a supermarket

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 05:00 AM PDT

BBNaija Alex
Reality TV star, Alex Unusual has narrated an encounter she had with a young man who asked her for help while she was grocery shopping.

According to her, the man approached her to beg her for assistance, but his attitude was something she found awkward.

Alex narrated:

So today, something happened and I want to share. I went grocery shopping and a young man walked up to me with shortbread in his hand and said "Aunty please I'm hungry but I don't have money to pay for this". I look at his hand, he wasn't even holding the small one I asked " you don't have money to buy food and this is what you pick ? How much is it ?". He replied "I don't know ma". That "ma" made me feel this sense of responsibility to take care of people and i asked him to go and check the price so I'll pay.

He came back but this time , he came with an extra yogurt on the other hand and he in front of me, he put both in the say hand as he mumbled " they said I should ask them at the paying place". I had to speak to myself "Alex keep your cool!!! Don't get angry, nobody deserves it" I got to "paying place" as he called it and we started to go through the (pim, pim, pim) process. This boy expected me to check his own first. I asked him to chill. He then tried to help me. Hiding my emotions as I smiled, I said "don't worry" I was contemplating. Should I teach him a lesson or not ?. I wanted to say "check the price of those two items, I'll buy you food that's worth the same amount but I was too tired for the lesson process and my heart won't let me ignore him. After paying, he followed me. Why!!! , why was he following me!!! He wanted money for transportation. The Alex in me set in as I couldn't conceal my utmost disgust anymore. I gave him a look that said it all and he left, surely to pester another pure heart. In all, my mum was right. When you allow, they look for allowance. When you give allowance, then they demand allowances. Let's learn to cut our coat according to our size. I wish I told him that though."

Disregard rumour of fuel scarcity, NNPC tells Nigerians

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 04:00 AM PDT

NNPC
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation ( NNPC ) says trending social media report of an impending fuel scarcity due to purported refusal by some oil marketers to lift products from depots was false.

The NNPC in a statement, in Abuja, on Friday by its Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Ndu Ughamadu appealed to Nigerians to disregard the rumour.

He explained that the tale was fabricated by mischief makers with intent to create undue panic in the prevailing sanity in the fuel supply and distribution matrix across the country.

He said that the NNPC has over one billion litres of petrol in stock while Imports of 48 vessels of 50million litres each have been committed for the month of April 2019 alone.
He noted that there was no need for panic buying or hoarding of petroleum products in anticipation of a phantom scarcity.

Ughamadu reiterated that the pump price of petrol remained N145 per litre.

A check by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja revealed that few queues were building up in some filling stations at the Central Business district but most station around the city still run normal services to motorists.

Edo Speaker, ex-Speaker bicker over sporadic shootings at quarters

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 03:30 AM PDT

Kabiru Adjoto
Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, Hon Kabiru Adjoto and a former Speaker, Victor Edoror, have traded blames over Friday's sporadic shootings at the legislative quarters.

It was gathered that Edoror has been questioned by the police and asked to return on Monday for further interrogation.

Sources said resident in the lawmakers' quarters heard sporadic shootings and the police was invited after which Edoror was invited.

The source claimed the shootings were carried out by boys invited by Edoror during the naming ceremony of his new baby boy.

Edoror however accused Adjoto of orchestrating the shooting to put criminal charges on him despite not paying him salary for many months.

He said it was not possible for him to celebrate the birth of a son and caused mayhem at the same time.

The former Speaker urged the police to investigate the allegation and urged his detractors to stop putting idols in their heart.

"My wife gave birth to a baby boy and I celebrated it. They are doing this despite not paying my salaries and I still won election," he stated.

Speaker Adjoto, on his part, said whoever is on suspension is not supposed to be seen within the quarters.

"He brought cultists and they were shooting sporadically. When the security could not control them I called the Police Commissioner who came to chase them away."

On the complains about non payment of salaries by the former Speaker, Adjoto said he is not in charge of salary payment and that the matter is before the court.

9th Assembly: North East APC backs South East for Speaker, endorses Onyeheocha

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 03:00 AM PDT

National Assembly
Publicity Secretaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North East geopolitical zone under the auspices of the APC Forum of Public Relations Officers have aligned with the agitation of the south-east geopolitical zone to produce the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 9th National Assembly.

The APC spokespersons said their decision to align with the south-east is borne of the fact that all zones of the country should be allowed equal representation in the government in the spirit of fairness and justice.

Speaking at a news conference in Abuja, Coordinator of the Forum, Aaron Artimas said in supporting the Southeast for the Speakership of the House of Representatives, they are not unaware of the zoning of the office and that of the Senate President to the South West and Northeast respectively by the national leadership of the party.

Artimas said the Forum has endorsed Hon. Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha for the position of speaker, considering her wealth of experience as a four-time member of the House and a former local government Chairman with lot of grassroot support.

He said: "Many eminent Nigerians have continued to assert that Nigeria's democracy is still a work in progress. Indeed, this is very true to the extent that in the effort to perfect our union as a Nation, a lot still needs to be done.
"As we all know, Nigeria has always stood on a political tripod, anchored on the three founding political regions, namely, the West, East and the North, which have now been further unofficially devolved into six geopolitical zones. The implication of this is that every political region should be given its own right of equal participation as envisioned by the founding fathers of our country.

"It is in line with this that we the forum of APC Public Relations officers of the North East sub-region wish to align and identify with our counterpart in the southeast in their agitation to shift the post of the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives to their region.

"The South East APC Public relations officers have already issued a press statement endorsing, Honourable Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha as Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives.

"A four-time member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Onyejeocha represents many shades of national opinion, especially the much talked about gender issue.

"Put together with her rich political background as a grass root politician, a former Local Government Chairman and an effective legislator, she is eminently qualified to represent her zone and to serve the country as a whole.

"We are not unaware of the perceived or unofficial zoning of the positions of the Senate President and the Speaker House of Representatives to the North East and the South West respectively. While this policy remains a political decision, we still believe that the ultimate decision to this effect remains a function of members of the National Assembly.

"As party officials, we are not opposed to the presumptive position taken by the national leadership of our party. But, we strongly believe that no decision is exhaustive or final, because of the imperative to look into the various sides of the new arguments regarding the zoning of the National Assembly Leadership.

"The South East is craving for better participation and representation in the present political dispensation. The major crux of their demand is to enable the party to grow in that region going forward. This has nothing to do with the presumed low patronage of the party in the region.

"We believe that it is very appropriate to give them this wonderful opportunity so as to carry all parts of the country along. It is for this reason that we hereby declare our solidarity with the South East in their quest to shift the leadership of the House of Representatives to the zone.

"It will please us greatly, if the National Leadership of our party and indeed other leaders of the party will take a second look at its perceived position in this regard."

APC finally files petition against PDP’s victory in Bauchi

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 03:00 AM PDT

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bauchi State on Friday filed a petition at the Election Petition Tribunal, challenging the victory of the candidate of the People's Democratic Party, Sen Bala Mohammed at the last gubernatorial poll.

According to its chairman in the state, Uba Ahmed Nana, Gov Abubakar, the gubernatorial candidate of the party at the last governorship election, is seeking justice from the tribunal.

"We are here to file a suit on behalf of the APC challenging the results of the governorship election in Bauchi State held some weeks ago.

"What we want is Justice, as always from the Court because we know that the Court will do just that," he said.

It would be recalled that Governor Abubakar had backed down on his earlier decision to concede defeat following declaration of Bala Mohammed as the Governor-elect.

The governor had said after due consultations with the national leadership of the APC, the party has agreed to go to court to reclaim his mandate from the PDP.

He said it was a decision from the party hierarchy.

Abubakar said: "The party has concluded its plans and has hired four Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) to file this suit in court in a short while from now."

But in a swift reaction, the state chapter of the PDP alleged the litigation initiated by the outgoing governor was only meant to waste government resources.

It vowed court will validate its victory at the last governorship election.

The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Zainabari Yaya in an interview with newsmen, said it was ridiculous for the governor to allege that he was rigged out when he was the one with incumbency power and control of security agents.

"Just like we won the case filed by the governor at federal high court in Abuja against the results of Tafawa Balewa local government, we will win again in tribunal.

"We are ready to defend our mandate and over 50 independent lawyers have indicated interest to defend us in any court," he said

9th NASS: Our challenges have no party, tribe or religion, says Ekweremadu

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 03:00 AM PDT

Ike Ekweremadu
Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has said that the ninth National Assembly would rise above political, religious, and ethnic divides to address the myriads of challenges facing Nigeria.

Ekweremadu spoke at a dinner to mark the end of the orientation programme organised for the members-elect of the incoming National Assembly in Abuja.

The Enugu West lawmaker, who described the National Assembly as a microcosm of Nigeria, observed that bringing together the members-elect from across the country had not only helped them to garner basic legislative knowledge but also to familiarise with one another and better appreciate the peculiar challenges faced by various parts of the country.

Ekweremadu said: "After elections comes the onerous business of governance and I am greatly encouraged by the enthusiasm and determination of Distinguished Senator and Honourable Members-elect to rise above narrow politics.

"It gladdens the heart that Members-elect are aware that once sworn-in as Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members of the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic, we are bound by our oath of office and House Rules to always act in the overall interest of the sovereignty, integrity, solidarity, well-being, and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are bound by these instruments to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

"We may all have come in different vehicles as represented by our various political parties but poverty and hunger faced by the masses of Nigeria have no political party.

"We may profess different religions, but the insecurity taking high tolls on our people has no religion.

"Therefore, it is imperative and we are indeed inclined to work as a team for the peace, justice, equity, and national prosperity, irrespective of political leanings and diversities.

"Ours is a call to service, a call to deliver democracy dividends, a call to meet the expectations of our people and a call to ensure that the government of Nigeria works for the people of Nigeria and I have no doubt whatsoever that we will deliver on our mandates."

Presidency clears air on Nigerian executed in Saudi Arabia

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 03:00 AM PDT

Abike Dabiri Erewa
The Federal Government on Friday said that drugs was hidden on the body of Kudirat Afolabi, who was executed in Saudi Arabia on April 1.

It said Afolabi was among the 20 persons arrested with drugs hidden in their body parts.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Relations and the Diaspora, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, disclosed this on Friday to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

She said the clarification became necessary in a bid to clear the air regarding the circumstances leading to the execution of the Nigerian.

Afolabi was executed alongside two Pakistani men and one Yemeni man, bringing the total number of people killed by Saudi Arabia this year to 53.

There had been attempts, especially in the social media, to link Afolabi's fate with the activities of alleged syndicates operating at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano.

The syndicate allegedly specializes in planting drugs in the baggage of unsuspecting travelers.
Abike-Dabiri, however, said Afolabi did not belong to the list of seven who are suspected to have fallen victim of the four-man gang hard drugs planting syndicate.

"There are some people caught in Kano, but those they allegedly gave the drugs to are yet to face trials in Saudi.

"What we can now do is to prevail on the Saudi authority that those people awaiting trials in their country are among the victims of the Kano syndicate.

"If Nigeria can do this, through National Drugs and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigerian mission in Saudi Arabia, they might not even be charged to court.

"Ms Afolabi was one of those drugs were found on their bodies. They were 20 in number. They are the ones on the death roll, as drugs were found on their bodies, including their private parts.

"In their case, the Saudis do not appear to waste so much time on them. What is on social media that the lady could have been saved was incorrect.

"There was no way we could have done that. She was found with drugs on her body; just like the other 20," the presidential aide said.

She, however, pointed out that in the case of those awaiting trials, the NDLEA can work with the Nigerian mission in Saudi to save them.

"Who knows, maybe if the NDLEA forward their information to the Saudis that some of these people might be innocent of the crime, they might not even go on trial.

"But we must continue to move fast and in harmony, so that we ensure the innocent was not unjustly punished," she said.

Daddy Freeze is a con artist, a greedy punk who makes money through trickery-Alexander Thandi Ubani writes an open letter

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 03:00 AM PDT

Daddy Freeze
Political analyst and social commentator, Alexander Thandi Ubani has called out controversial OAP Daddy Freeze for living a life totally different from what he preaches, thus leading many people astray.

It is important that I make this clarification: I do not have any personal grudge against Ifedayo Olarinde aka Daddy Freeze. I am writing this because of the obvious contradictions and fakery associated with his person which I believe have been ignored giving him the ginger to continue on this path to perdition thereby deceiving the gullible.

(A little background: Daddy Freeze is an On-Air-Personality (OAP) who works with Cool FM. He considers himself to be the most intelligent OAP in Nigeria. He shows off his muiltimillion naira cars and expensive watches on social media and spends most of his time bashing men of God.)
To start with, Daddy Freeze is a con artist, a greedy punk who makes money through trickery. As a radio presenter, Daddy Freeze charges musicians huge sums just to play their music on air. Note: this is against rule of the radio station where he works. In fact, the act is called Payola which refers to an illegal practice of payment or other inducement by record companies for the broadcast of recordings on commercial radio in which the song is presented as being part of the normal day's broadcast, without announcing that there has been consideration paid in cash or in kind for its airplay.

My friend, a musician recounted his ordeal in the hands of Daddy Freeze to me. He was forced to jettison the idea of having his song played on Daddy Freeze's radio station due to the exorbitant amount he charged his team. This is even as a large inscription on the wall of the building prohibits OAPs from charging money to play songs. How ironic! The worst is that he doesn't charge what up and coming musicians can afford; his greed makes him to go for very high figures, all for his evil pocket.

As a con artist he always is, Daddy Freeze has justified himself for collecting money from artistes to play their songs using the guise of 'consultancy' after he was called out on Twitter. Consultancy for what? What is a musician consulting from a radio presenter like Daddy Freeze other than to give him his song to play? Is he a music guru, video director, song writer, producer or what for a musician to seek for consultation?

If you say you charge people for consultancy, then spell out the services you will be offering because taking songs from musicians to play on radio cannot be 'consultancy'.

Daddy Freeze is nothing but a dishonourable fellow with a twisted mentality. For every bad thing he does, he has a justification. In his small mind, he's a king that does no wrong.

Because of this greedy venture invented by him and his fellow OAPs, it is difficult for good artistes to have their songs heard because they do not have the financial strength. The industry is now left for the money bags who pay huge sums to Daddy Freeze and his likes to have whack songs promoted, thereby muffling those who are talented but poor.

Playing songs are supposed to be free, a selfless act for your audience/listeners meant to entertain and keep them glued to your radio. Since people like Daddy Freeze monetized the process, our ears have become a dumping ground for all manner of whack and meaningless songs because the good ones have been sacrificed on the altar of six figure checks.

These days, when you listen to some radio stations, you wonder how the songs made it to the playlist – all thanks to Daddy Freeze and his co-conspirators.

Daddy Freeze is the true definition of hypocrisy. Here is a man who rips artistes apart with dubious charges but jacks off on a daily basis by attacking the clergy at every given opportunity.
It is the height of foolery and hypocrisy that a man who dubiously siphons money from artistes in the name of playing their songs on air (which is totally against the rule of the station where he works) will have the effrontery to cast aspersions on clergymen who ask their members to pay tithe – an obligation gotten from the scriptures.

Here is a cheat who hides under the guise of consultancy to extort money from people, still open his mouth to preach the word of God on a daily basis. You teach people about the gospel, but your life is the exact opposite of what you preach. I consider such to be an act of sheer iberiberism (apologies to Rochas Okorocha).

This is the exact reason why many people do not take Daddy Freeze serious except for zombies. Even the gospel you preach all the time admonished you to be the light of the world. Yes, be of good conduct that by your action, you may win souls for Christ.

With the same mouth you curse, insult and make fun of people who share a different opinion with you on a matter, that is the same mouth you use to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The same mouth you use to preach the gospel, that is the same mouth you use to mock a man or woman on your page with physical deformity just because he or she disagrees with you. Shame on you, Daddy Freeze. You have knowledge but lack wisdom.

Pause for a moment Daddy Freeze and allow this to sink in: You may be gifted in the act of oratory display, be an eloquent speaker, but those who see beyond the flamboyant maneuvers you display cannot be deceived – all are a mere bombastic dribbling to deceive the gullible.
Do you Daddy Freeze even have a conscience? Or has it been smeared overtime by the many lies you've told yourself, that it is now a part of you?

A busybody who feels his opinion on every issue must be right, taken and accepted as the voice of god. A lily-livered chicken who blocks off those who have superior argument, but climaxes by attacking those he feels cannot match his sycophantic excesses.
You are a lost soul who claims to know the scriptures but cannot abide by its rules. What sense is there to have knowledge without wisdom?

A man who is versed in the scriptures but fails to follow the instructions contained therein, takes pleasure in teaching it to others but his life reeks of the exact opposite of what he teaches is nothing but a nitwit whose only objective is to show off. You remind me of the pharisees.
Brother, repent before it is too late.

Yours truly,
Alexander Thandi Ubani

The Chairman, Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) Professor Bolaji Owasanoye has said that members of the National Assembly most times compromise their major constitutional functions of oversight and investigation.

The ICPC chairman noted that as a result of the comprise, especially through commercialisation of their activities, the member lack the will to carry out their constitutional roles of oversight

Professor Owasanoye stated this while delivering a paper titled 'The Role of the Legislature in the War Against Corruption and Graft' on the last day of the induction course for the second batch of elected members of the coming 9th Assembly.

He said "We should avoid a situation where because people are being investigated, they come to say they want to change the laws to forestall that. I want to urge the lawmakers not to support that.

"Oversight function has been commercialised, which is why the mechanism hasn't been effective. Legislature is accused of passing the costs to MDAs and of accepting other forms of gratification, eg foreign trips, phony seminars, to look the other way.

"The Legislature has powers of investigation: this was very well utilised in the past. But many other times, the power is commercialised. You find out that the investigators become compromised in the process. There's lacuna on what the legislature should do with the findings," he said.

The ICPC chairman also challenged the lawmakers to make the details of their budget public.

"Since 1999, the Nigerian Legislature has never shown any seriousness in scrutinising the reports of the auditor general. NASS Budget rose from N6.9bn in 1999 to N139bn in 2018.

"There's no country in the world where the legislature budget is up to one percent. But the question is there's no breakdown for the amount. It is opaque and disproportionate. If you make the details, it may even lead to the need for more funds. Why would the legislature demand the details of agencies' budgets without making its own open?"

UPDATED: Atiku not Nigerian by birth, APC tells tribunal

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 02:00 AM PDT

Atiku Abubakar
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has argued that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) had no candidate in the last presidential election.

The APC contended that by fielding Atiku Abubakar "a non-Nigerian by birth" as it's candidate, the PDP cannot claim to have had a candidate in the last presidential election.

The party argued that, by virtue of his not being a Nigerian by birth, Abubakar, a former Vice President, was not qualified to have contested the last presidential election.

It contended that by Section 131(a) of the Constitution, a person must be a citizen of Nigeria by birth to be qualified to contest for the office of the President of the country.

The party noted that Abubakar was born on November 25, 1946 in Jada, now Adamawa State, then in Northern Cameroon, "and is, therefore, a citizen of Cameroon."

APC made the argument in it reply to the petition filed by Abubakar and the PDP before the presidential election petition tribunal in Abuja.

It said Abubakar (listed as 1st petitioner in the petition) "had no right to be voted for and returned in the election to the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria held on Saturday 23" February, 2019 having regard to the clear provision of Section 131(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CFRN) 1999 as amended, which unequivocally stipulates inter alia, that for a person to be qualified for election to the office of President, he must be a citizen of Nigeria by birth.

"The 1st petitioner is not a citizen of Nigeria by birth and ought not to have even been allowed in the first place, to contest the election.

"From available records, The l" petitioner was born on the 2.5" November, 1946 in Jada, Adamawa, in Northern Cameroon and Is, therefore, a citizen of Cameroon.

"His father was Garba Atiku Abdulkadlr who died In December 1957. Prior to 1919 Cameroon was being administered by Germany.

"But following the defeat of Germany In World War I which ended In 7918, Cameroon became a League of Nations mandate territory which was split Into French Cameroons and British Cameroons In 7919.

"Brltlsh Cameroons was administered by the British from neighbouring Nigeria. In 1961, a plebiscite was held in British Cameroons to determine whether the people preferred to stay in Cameroon or align with Nigeria.

"While Northern Cameroon preferred a union with Nigeria, Southern Cameroon chose alignment with the mother country.

"The transition took place on June 1, 1961. It was as a result of that plebiscite that Northern Cameroon, which included Adamawa, became a part of Nigeria and by derivation, the 1" petitioner became a citizen of Nigeria, but not by birth.

"The 1″ petitioner, therefore, contrary to the assertion in paragraph 1 of their petition, had no right to be voted for as a candidate in the election to the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria held on 23rd February, 2019 across Nigeria," the party said.

It added that, by reason of Abubakar not having qualified to contest the election, all votes purportedly cast for the petitioners at the 23″ February, 2019 election and as subsequently declared by INEC  on the 27th of February 2019, are wasted votes.

In a preliminary objection raised by the party, the APC contended that the tribunal lacked the jurisdiction to countenance greater portion of the petition by the Abubakar and his party on the grounds that the claim contained therein, which relates to the challenge of the qualification of its candidate (Muhammadu Burai) was statute barred.

It added that by the provision of section 31(5) and (6) of the Electoral Act and Section 285(9) of the Constitution, the election tribunal was not the appropriate forum to litigate such claim.
The APC noted that before the election, INEC posted on its notice boards personal information of candidate for the public to see. It argued that since the petitioners did not challenge what they felt was wrong in Buhari's qualification at the pre-election state, they cannot raise the issues now.

It said: "The petitioners failed and or neglected to challenge the validity of the 2nd respondent's claim regarding his education qualification as contained in the Form CF001 submitted to INEC before the election.

"The petitioners have waived their right (If any) to challenge the propriety of the information contained in the INEC Form CF001 duly submitted to INEC."

The APC, while asserting its victory at the election, noted that by the election results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC and as contained in its (INEC's) website, the PDP and its candidate did not win the election as claimed by the petitioners.

As against the claim by the petitioners that they had access to INEC's website, the APC said, on its part, it never had access to INEC website at any time.

The party denied all the allegations raised by the petitioners and faulted the allegations made against Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, service chiefs, military personnel and other security personnel, who were not made parties to the petition.

It faulted the competence of the entire petition and prayed the tribunal to dismiss it for being incompetent.

The APC stated that "The petition discloses no reasonable cause of action or any cause of action at all;

It argued that allegations in a substantial portion of the petition "are generic, vague, unpreferable, non-specific, nebulous, bogus, imprecise, speculative and at large contrary to the mandatory provisions of paragraph 4(1) (d) of the 1th Schedule to the Electoral Act, 2010 (as amended).
"Allegations of non -compliance must be made distinctly and proved on polling unit basis; the petitioners in the allegations used the vague or generic expression such a: 'in many polling units in the country', 'in some states, local governments, wards and polling units of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, some of such polling units', 'n some polling units and local governments across Nigeria,' without giving particulars of the affected polling units and wards, hence no enough material to justify the grant of any reliefs sought.

"In the entire petition and/or the itemised paragraphs (stated 1n ground (7) herein), petitioners did not provide the particulars of polling un1t(s) where any irregularity, malpractice, corrupt practices or non-compliance took place;

"Failure of the petitioners to plead, with specificity, the particulars In terms of names, codes and/or polling units where the alleged malpractices, corrupt practices, non-compliance, irregularities, took place is a fundamental violation of Paragraph 4(1)(d) of the 1st Schedule to the Electoral Act, 2010 (as amended in 2015), which fact renders the petition incompetent and on abuse of court process.

"The petition, as presently constituted, is devoid of necessary particulars/information to support allegation of corrupt practices, violence and non-compliance with provisions of the Electoral Act."

The APC, which identified all the inadequacies as contained in the petition, Added that it is incompetent and In gross violation of sections 2(1) and 24 of the Legal Practitioners Act, having been signed by an unknown individual and or entity.

"The petition Is not properly constituted hence, it is incompetent and liable to be struck out.

"Based on the foregoing, the 3rd respondent (APC) urges the court/tribunal to strike out the offending paragraphs of the petition and the petition itself," the party said.

Singer Lami Phillips Recounts Struggles With Her Appearance As A Kid

Singer Lami Phillips Recounts Struggles With Her Appearance As A Kid
Nigerian singer, Lami Phillips passed through a childhood that threatened her self lov because she struggled with her looks as a child.

She narrates how knowing she was not the prettiest posed a very big threat to the love she would have had for herself.

According to her, she got to know from a young age that she was not the prettiest family member. She added that her parent's friends sometimes made statements about how black she was or why she looked like a boy. Some even wondered why she was dark skinned like her father compared to her mother's light complexion.

She wrote: "Yeah.. that's me.. the darkest person in the picture. I grew up "knowing" that I wasn't the prettiest. My parents friends would joke "blacky".. or ask me in Yoruba "ki lo de to se jo okunrin bayi " ( why do you look so much like a boy). I was told I was short and thick ( it sounds worse in Yoruba).. I was also asked why i looked like my dad. Why wasn't I light skinned like my mother? So many questions… all somehow directed at making me subconsciously question the way I looked. Over time.. I decided to ignore or compartmentalize those insecurities. I ignored the fact that I was somewhat unrecognizable in photographs or less favored for certain opportunities. I was never called pretty as much as I can remember. I convinced myself that I was ordinary. Thank God for my sense of humour because I allowed it all dust off my shoulders by joking about it. So as a teenager when a boy said he liked me .. I wouldn't believe it. Why would he like me when there are others prettier than me? Little did I know that I was far from ordinary. Little did they know.. that I was beautiful… TO UNDERSTAND THE FRUIT WE MUST EXAMINE THE ROOT. Excuse me as I pursue PURPOSE. (Most people won't understand the "purpose" or meaning of this post/caption.. and that's ok too)"

Ninth Assembly will rise above political, ethnic divides -Ekweremadu

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 12:00 AM PDT

Ike Ekweremadu
Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu has said that the 9th National Assembly will rise above political, religious, and ethnic divides to address the myriads of challenges facing Nigerians.

Speaking during the dinner to mark the end of the orientation programme organised for Ninth National Assembly members-elect, Ekweremadu described the institution as Nigeria in microcosm.

He stressed that bringing together the members-elect from across the country had not only helped them to garner basic legislative knowledge but familiarise them with one another and better appreciate peculiar challenges faced by various parts of Nigeria.

He said: "After elections comes the onerous business of governance, and I am greatly encouraged by the enthusiasm and determination of distinguished senators and honourable members-elect to rise above narrow politics.

"It gladdens the heart that members-elect are aware that once sworn in as distinguished senators and honourable members, we are bound by our oath of office and rules to always act in the overall interest of the sovereignty, integrity, solidarity, well-being and prosperity of Nigeria.

"We are bound by these instruments to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

"We may all have come in different vehicles as represented by our various political parties, but poverty and hunger faced by the masses of Nigeria have no political party."

The lawmaker added that "we may profess different religions, but the insecurity taking a toll on our people has no religion.

"Therefore, it is imperative and we are indeed inclined to work as a team for the peace, justice, equity and national prosperity, irrespective of political leanings and diversities.

"Ours is a call to service, a call to deliver democracy dividends, a call to meet the expectations of our people, and a call to ensure that the government of Nigeria works for the people, and I have no doubt that we will deliver on our mandates."

Ekweremadu urged them to remain true to the oath of allegiance they would take on the inauguration day to serve the people.

Fuel queues back at filling stations in Lagos

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 12:00 AM PDT

Fuel  Scarcity

Many petrol retail outlets in Lagos and Abuja yesterday closed shops while the few that sold had long queues as motorists waited to fill their vehicles' tanks and buy some in kegs to keep as reserves in expectation that fuel scarcity could worsen.

However, oil marketers assured there was no scarcity and advised fuel consumers not to engage in panic-buying as what led to the gap in fuel supply and distribution, which resulted in the queues at fuel stations, was a minor operational problem.

The problem, according to the marketers, has been addressed and depots are loading 24 hours, and whatever supply gap there is will be closed between today and tomorrow.

The Executive Secretary, Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), Mr. Clement Isong, told The Nation that all their members' depots had fuel.

He said there was a slight technical hiccup which the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and the marketers had already resolved, adding that there would be normal supply, and any envisaged scarcity would be over this weekend.

Companies that make up MOMAN include Total Nigeria Plc, Conoil Plc, Oando Plc, 11Plc (formerly Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc), MRS Oil Nigeria Plc and Forte Oil Plc.

Isong said: "All the tanks have product. There is no supply shortage. What caused the queue is a minor operational hiccup. Whenever there is such technical issue and it takes up to 12 hours to resolve, it upsets supply and distribution chains, and that is what happened in this scenario because it created backlogs of loadings that could have been done earlier.

"However, the problem has been resolved. One of the vessels berthed at the port loaded into our tanks yesterday (Thursday), another one will discharge today (Friday) and the third vessel will discharge tomorrow (today).

"I advise the public not to embark on panic-buying as there is enough fuel. The gap in supply created by the technical problem will be closed within the weekend as our members are loading 24 hours through the weekend.

However, an official of one of the depots owned by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), who did not want his identity disclosed, said it was slight scarcity.

According to him, during the election period, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) did not make enough fuel imports. As a result of that shortage in import, there was not enough fuel to go round and the NNPC resorted to rationing what it had in stock.

"If 10 depots are supposed to get supply from NNPC and only five depots were able to get at the end of the day, certainly, there must be a gap, and that is the reason you see queues at the filling stations.

"For instance, there are marketers who have paid for fuel in our depot in the past two to three weeks, and they are yet to be loaded because of inadequate fuel. But I believe that supply shortfall will be addressed soon.

"It is not something so serious. I assume it is a costly oversight on the part of the NNPC."
