Victoria Kimani Opens Up About Her Love Life “I’m Done Dating Bad Boys”

Posted: 25 Apr 2019 12:00 AM PDT

Kenyan born, Nigeria based singer, Victoria Kimani, has revealed that she would love to get married someday and have children.

She also stated that she is willing to wait until the right man comes along because she keeps falling in love with 'bad boys'.

"My love life is dead, I'm not dating anyone. There is someone I want to date, but you know I don't really think he wants to date me. I think I go for the wrong kind of guys, I think I go for like bad boys and that's not good," Victoria revealed in a candid interview with Citizen TV's Betty Kyalo.

"Now I do want to settle down and have babies but I really need to be with the right person, because my worst fear is to be a single mom. I would like my child to grow up with mom and dad at home. So I'm willing to take my time, rather than rush and have someone's baby and then he doesn't want to be with me because then I will go crazy," she added.

She went on to reveal that so many men have slid into her DM. However, she has remained skeptical about her suitors' intentions because most of them end up not being who they say they really are.

"You know how these guys are in our DMs, sometimes they are not what they say they are. Or maybe they act like they are. Sometimes you don't know why a guys wants to date you. Is it because they like you as a person or what you think you can benefit from being with them? It's pretty hard," she said.

On the qualities of the man she is looking for, Victoria said he should be ambitious and his business acumen should be on another level.

"He got to have swag, successful, he needs to look good, have a little bit of money, you can't just be broke, I'm sorry. He has to have a vision, a business mind because mine isn't that great," she said.

The 34-year-old singer has been single for the last two years since breaking up with her long-time Nigerian boyfriend, video director and producer Stanley Obiamulu. She was also once rumoured to have been dating Harambee Stars skipper Victor Wanyama.

Daddy Freeze has been called out on behalf of Apostle Suleiman by Reno Omokri

Daddy Freeze has been called out on behalf of Apostle Suleiman by Reno Omokri
Reno Omokri has called out Daddy Freeze for attacking clergyman, Apostle Suleiman, who recently acquired a private jet. Freeze after seeing photos of the jet, wrote on his IG page

"Apostle Johnson Suleman heard you just bought a private jet…….

Please, how many poor people in your church are you helping? I need a response, thank you! ~FRZ

#FreeTheSheeple
Reno felt offended by Freeze's comment and he took to his Facebook page to reply him. Read what he wrote below

Dear @daddyfreeze ,

This question is not borne out of good faith. I know apostle Suleman personally. I also put you in touch with him privately. If you truly want to know the answer to that question, you can contact him privately to find out a. Whether he actually bought a private jet, and b. What he does for the poor.

This is GRANDSTANDING and PLAYING to the GALLERY. Apostle Suleman has done so many charitable works but he does not like publicising them and I support him for it. The Bible says "when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing"-Matthew 6:3. He has helped me raise money for Leah Sharibu's mother when she was in need, but it is wrong of me to even say that publicly. I regret what you have done with this post and I am not one to backbite.

I say it to you before your face. You don't 'need' a response from Apostle Suleman. He owes you NOTHING. Absolutely NOTHING. God did not put Apostle Suleman on earth to live up to your expectations, neither did He put you on earth to live up to Apostle Suleman's expectations".

Wole Soyinka Thinks His Generation Has Failed Nigerians And He Gives Reasons
Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka is highly disappointed in his generation of older Nigerians and their dissatisfactory output that he said has failed the country.

During his interview on Hard Talk, a BBC programme yesterday, Wole Soyinka expressed his disappointment When he was asked by the anchor, Zeinab Badawi, "Has your generation of older Nigerians failed the people?", the Nobel laureate replied

"Yes, I believe so. I compare today with dreams and aspirations we had when we all rushed home after studies abroad. We considered ourselves the renaissance people that were going to lift the continent to world standards, competitors anywhere. It hasn't happened."

He went on to describe the 2019 general election as the most depressing election Nigeria has ever had.

"The 2019 election is one of the most depressing elections we've been through. Talking for myself, it wasn't possible for me to make a choice for the simple reason that both candidates (President Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar) had histories – one immediate, one past – which made one look for alternatives." he said

Liquid Telecom makes telemedicine a reality for the Aga Khan Hospital Mombasa to deliver healthcare to remote communities

Posted: 24 Apr 2019 07:26 AM PDT

Hospital goes digital by using Liquid Telecom's high-speed fibre network to connect with outreach clinics that serve more than 3.5m residents across the coastal region

Nairobi, 23rd April 2019 – Liquid Telecom Kenya, part of the leading pan-African telecoms group Liquid Telecom, has made telemedicine a reality for thousands of patients at the Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa. Using its high-speed fibre network, Liquid Telecom has connected the main hospital in Mombasa to seven of its outreach centres in the coastal region bringing healthcare closer to the community.

The roll-out of services started last August to improve access to medical services that would often not be consistently available in some of the more rural communities. This includes online consultations and diagnostic services.

"Travel costs were often prohibitive for patients. For example, patients coming from Voi to Mombasa spend around Sh700 on bus fares, which is a major cost at a time when most of the population struggle to buy even basic medication, and often cannot afford to visit the hospital for follow up appointments," said Hemed Twahir, Medical Director at Aga Khan Hospital Mombasa.

The hospital's initiative comes at a time when Kenya is facing a shortage of healthcare specialists especially in dermatology (skin diseases and complications) and Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) diseases.

"As healthcare providers strive to make specialists more accessible to patients in an affordable way through telemedicine, Liquid Telecom Kenya has been able to offer both the high-speed internet connectivity and software to enable uninterrupted two-way audio-visual and data communication in a delivery that aligns exactly with our vision of driving digital transformation across Africa," said Adil Youssefi, CEO of Liquid Telecom Kenya.

"When a patient at a clinic requires specialised attention, the clinicians logs a video request with the specialist and run a video conference with both specialist and patient. They also use our newly installed digital medical equipment to make a diagnosis, with everything about the patient recorded in the hospital records system", said James Siku, Head of ICT at Aga Khan Hospital Mombasa.

Liquid Telecom's high-speed Internet network has also enabled the hospital to run e-learning courses covering Continuous Medical Education (CME) and Continuous Nursing Education (CNE) between the main hospital and outreach clinics. It also includes public hospitals such as Rabai, Tsangansini and Mariakani, to exchange knowledge and discuss medical case management – in a collaborative process that drives best-practice treatment plans. The forums also help clinicians earn credits for their professional qualifications and credit transfers under Ministry of Health guidelines.

"We have installed digital stethoscopes and multi-purpose scope equipment for examining a patients' vitals. With these, specialists will be able to see in real time, say, the condition of the skin, and other vital readings, then offer consultancy and diagnostics," said Sultana Shermana, Interim CEO of Aga Khan Hospital Mombasa.

The hospital has invested in a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterisation laboratory that is first in the coast province for diagnosis of heart conditions and a 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine and runs a digital HMIS - managing inpatient and outpatient records, lab results and diagnosis – that is now accessible across all of its clinics and main hospitals.

The telemedicine services focus on family medicine, obstetrician-gynaecologist, ear, nose and throat as well as dermatology for Ukunda, Kilifi and Voi clinics being given priority, benefitting a total of up to 200 patients a day. The other outreach clinics are Nyali, Changamwe, Mtwapa, and Bamburi Mwisho.

School of Software Engineering to launch in South Africa

Posted: 24 Apr 2019 05:35 AM PDT

Software Engineering
The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) has developed a curriculum at schools to include ICT initiatives such as coding, software development and other digital skills. This is a national initiative that SITA, in accordance with its business development plan, will implement one province at a time.

The Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Education in the Free State, Mr Pule Herbert Isak Makgoe, will officially inaugurate the Free State SITA School of Software Engineering at Kopanong Secondary School at Turflaagte, Mangaung in Bloemfontein. The SITA Chairperson Mr Zukile Nomvete and Board of directors will also be in attendance.

Buoyed by both the NDP and the National ICT Policy White Paper, SITA's aim is to empower all South Africans by enhancing service delivery through technology, creating partnerships to improve quality of life and – crucially – investing in skilling the youth. Investing in ICT skills for learners is investing in South Africa's future.

In consultation with the Free State Department of Education, five schools have been chosen to pilot the SITA Schools of Software Engineering. Besides Kopanong Secondary (where the initiative will be launched), they are Thabo-Vuyo Secondary in Rouxville; Lekgarietse Secondary in Welkom; Rebatla-Thuto Secondary in Koppies; and Mohaladitwe Secondary in Makwane, QwaQwa.

The schools were chosen for their track record of academic excellence despite depressed socio-economic backgrounds, for their location (in five different district municipalities), and for the exceptional work ethic of learners, educators, governing bodies and parents. Each school is a stellar reminder of what is achieved when community stakeholders collaborate and work together to achieve great things.

As per the specifications agreed with the Free State government, SITA is providing 40 computers per laboratory, connectivity, a curriculum, mentors and technical resources for the programme. The SITA School of Software Engineering will equip learners with software-development, coding and other ICT skills. Graduates will either be offered scholarships for tertiary education in an ICT-related field, or given internships at SITA, or assisted in enterprise development to establish small, medium or micro-sized enterprises.

The schools are the embodiment of President Ramaphosa's Thuma Mina call. SITA is proud of its association with each school, and has profound confidence in the example that each sets for a generation of educators, young people and parents.

This event will be the culmination of two years of hard work by SITA and the Free State government in their collaboration to respond to a National Development Plan mandate: create a digital society underpinned by the knowledge economy.

When MEC Makgoe inaugurates the School, Free State, SITA will also be responding to President Ramaphosa's call for digital transformation and to Finance Minister, Tito Mboweni's plea during his February 2019 budget speech to get South Africa ready for technology.

President Cyril Ramaphosa said in his State of the Nation Address on 7 February 2019 that South Africa was faced with "a stark choice" between "being overtaken by technological change or harnessing it to serve our developmental aspirations" – a choice between "entrenching inequality or creating shared prosperity through innovation".

Unless South Africans adapt to and understand "the nature of the profound change that is reshaping our world", the nation's promise will remain unfulfilled.

We're proud that SITA's new academy will be part of the mainstreaming of the ICT curriculum. We envisage further expansion as we continue to leverage our ICT capabilities to transform communities. A bonus is that learners will have fun while helping to find technological solutions to socio-economic problems.

SITA has previously donated fully resourced laboratories to schools. However, the SITA School of Software Engineering will also invest heavily in skills development to provide a career kickstart for continued ICT studies, starting businesses, or taking part in Learnerships at SITA.

4 Tips To Have An Open Kitchen For Outdoors

Posted: 24 Apr 2019 05:36 AM PDT

4 Tips To Have An Open Kitchen For Outdoors

Are you thinking of having a kitchen open to the outside of the house? In this space we will show you how you can do it, as well as what you should take into account to create a pleasant environment.

Integrating environments is a rising trend today. Having the kitchen open to the outside of the house can be a great idea to enjoy outdoor meetings. This is a good alternative to consider if you have a home with a patio , terrace or garden. After all, having an open kitchen will add a special touch to your home.

That way, you will be able to enjoy delicious meals with family and friends without the need to get in and out of the main house. So, this is a convenient, practical and very unique alternative to be applied in homes. Here are some ideas and tips to create your kitchen open to the exterior of the house. https://raymond-nh.com/ is the place where you will find more about outdoor cooking and its equipment.

Kitchens open to the outside
There are several alternatives to incorporating your kitchen into the exterior of your home. You can integrate the kitchen of the main house, the kitchen of the garage, a kitchen on the patio, on the terrace or in a corner of the garden. However, you must take into account several factors when choosing how and where to put your kitchen open to the outdoors.

For this reason, we will show you how you should do it and which furniture and accessories are ideal for this type of kitchen.

1- Internal kitchen integrated to the exterior of the house

Integrating the kitchen from the main house to the outside can be a great idea. It will ideally be located on the ground floor of your home, with direct access to the patio or garden. For this, it is necessary to include large windows with sliding doors. This way you can fully open them and let air and light in while cooking.

In addition, direct access to the garden will give a very special detail to your kitchen. You will be surrounded by grass, trees and plants. If you want, you can also create a dining room just outside your patio. That way, you will be in direct contact with the kitchen and this will actually be very practical.

2- Outdoor kitchen on the patios

If you have a patio in your home, integrating a kitchen may also be a good option. However, due to the fact that it will be directly exposed outside your home, you should include a coverage system. So, use an awning or pergola to cover your kitchen and thus protect yourself from rain or UV rays.

If you wish,  you can create a rustic style kitchen on your patio. Using a stone, granite or brick countertop can be a great alternative. Include a small sink and a barbecue and integrate a small dining room. This will create a more intimate and practical environment for you and your guests. Thus, you will have a beautiful kitchen open to the outdoors to spend time with family or friends.

3- Kitchen in a corner of the garden

A great alternative, if you have a large garden with corners available, is to incorporate a kitchen into it. Unlike the kitchen in the patio, while incorporating a kitchen in a corner of the garden, you will create a more interesting environment.

You can choose to create a path in the garden that connects your home with the outdoor kitchen. Also, if you have a pool in your garden, incorporating a kitchen at your side will also be a great alternative. So, try to include a rigid platform in your outdoor kitchen. Wood or concrete floors can be a great choice.

Outdoor Furniture
In addition, it is important that you include furniture that is resistant to various weather factors. You could include a granite countertop, stone or concrete, for example, with a small sink and a covered barbecue. If you want to include cabinets at the bottom of your workbench, use materials such as aluminum or treated wood with a good lock.

You can also include a table with steel chairs. This material is very resistant and, in addition, will also look very beautiful in its outer space.

4- Kitchen on the terrace

The last option we will show you is how you can integrate a kitchen on your terrace. If you live in a terraced apartment then this will be a good idea to be in touch with the outdoors in the summer. So you can enjoy the space and build your "U" or "L" kitchen, as you prefer.

The most important thing is that you can make the most of the space without obstructing the passage.

Include a bench with sink, table and a small covered barbecue. Then, place in the center of your kitchen a small table with chairs to integrate your dining room into the same space. Also, put an awning on your terrace if it does not have one. That way, you will have an intimate space to cook and enjoy meetings with family and friends al fresco.

Therefore, you can integrate your open kitchen to the exterior in the way that you prefer and according to your possibilities. Remember to be cautious and include the appropriate furniture. In addition, you should also consider the ideal location; remember that you must create practicality and not overwhelm your spaces.

This way, you will be more comfortable and you can enjoy delicious lunches and dinners outdoors in the best company.

New study revels top trends in online payments in MENA

Posted: 24 Apr 2019 05:30 AM PDT

Guillaume Pousaz

Payment approval rates for travel have increased by 8.8% in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), finds a new report from Checkout.com, an international provider of online payment solutions. In the fourth quarter of 2018, the approval rate rose by 5.1% bringing MENA's rate just 3% behind the rest of the world. Due to the high transaction value in the travel industry, card approval rates have seen a slower growth rate than other industries, such as e-commerce.

The 2019 Online Payments in the Travel Industry MENA report connects the rise in approved travel payments to the greater availability of lower cost trips from Saudi Arabia, where the ticket prices have reduced by 7.4% between 2017 and 2018, and the rise of use of MADA online cards also contributed to the approval rate.

In Saudi Arabia, roughly one-third (37%) of bookings made within a week of travel were purchased through a desktop computer, while 58% were made with a mobile device. Across the MENA region as a whole, mobile bookings are less common. Approximately 31% of bookings made within a week of travel are purchased on a desktop computer and 36% are made via mobile device.

Compared to the rest of the world, Checkout observed MENA travel merchants process 21% more payments through 3D Secure and charged back 0.04% less payments.

Remo Giovanni Abbondandolo, Vice President of Business Development, Middle East and North Africa at Checkout.com said: "The increasing use of MADA online cards to reach 36% since inception in April 2018 and falling holiday costs in Saudi Arabia is boosting the travel industry and payment processing trade. Local and global travel business operating in MENA must prepare for further growth by partnering with a payment processor that can handle their customer's security needs in a timely manner."

Guillaume Pousaz, Chief Executive & Founder of Checkout.com commented: "The growing travel payment approval rates in the Middle East and North Africa show that the region is increasingly sophisticated and diverse in its approach to online payments. More importantly, card issuers are increasingly trusting the merchant category when the transactions are originating from well-established acquirers, which is a relevant barometer for online card payments maturity in a given geography. I am excited to have witnessed how the GCC market has evolved since we established our local office here in 2014 and discover what lies ahead".

2019 Online Payments in the Travel Industry, MENA was launched at Web In Travel Middle East and is available for download here: https://www.checkout.com/travel

Doctors are free to leave Nigeria – Ngige

Posted: 24 Apr 2019 05:06 AM PDT

Dr. Chris Ngige
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige has said that medical doctors who want to leave Nigeria, are free to do so as the country has a lot of medical personnel.

Ngige said this when he appeared on Channels TV Sunrise Daily, saying he was not bothered about the large number of medical doctors leaving the country.

The minister was responding to questions about brain drain and deliberate recruitment of Nigerian doctors by foreign embassies in Nigeria.

He said, "I am not worried, we have surplus doctors, if we have a surplus, we export. I was taught Biology and Chemistry by Indian teachers in my secondary school days".

"They are surplus in their country. We have a surplus in the medical profession in our country. I can tell you this. It is my area, we have excess. We have enough, more than enough, quote me.

"There is nothing wrong, they go out to sharpen their skills, earn money and send them back home here. Yes, we have foreign exchange earnings from them, not from oil."
He also said the number of doctors leaving the country does not amount to brain drain when asked.

"Those guys go there, they are better trained because of the facilities they have there. Eventually, I know a couple of them who practice abroad but set up medical centres back home. They have CAT scan, MRI scan which even the government hospitals cannot maintain. So, I don't see any loss.

"Brain drain will only be inimical when for instance neurosurgeons travel and we don't have neurosurgeons here."

Police warn officers against misuse of weapons in Oyo

Posted: 24 Apr 2019 05:01 AM PDT

OYO State Police Command yesterday gave a stern warning against the misuse of firearms or weapons by its men and officers.

It said stiffer penalty awaits any police officer found to have misused such weapons on the citizens they were hired to protect.

The command also gave a marching order to the officers to flush out criminally-minded individuals professionally.

Police Commissioner Shina Olukolu gave the warming yesterday at the inauguration of "Operation Puff Adder" at the Eleyele, Ibadan Police Headquarters, in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police (IG) Mohammed Abubakar Adamu.

The Police Commissioner said the IG had directed that every state replicate the inauguration of "Operation Puff Adder"  to ensure that criminal elements are flushed out of the society.

Olukolu said Nigerians were looking on to the police to effectively deal with crimes, adding that the ideas about how they should go about it varies.

Notwithstanding, the Police Commissioner said officers must discharge their responsibility with utmost care and professionalism.

"Therefore, the police force as a professional body must continually restrategise and ensure more result-oriented tactics employed or emplaced to combat crime. Today, there appear to be unwelcome high profile crimes such as kidnapping, assassination, armed robbery, farmer and herder's clash, cattle rustling and other related crimes. These crimes are giving the Police High Command a great concern.

"However, in these trying times coupled with insufficient logistics, the Force is resilient in curbing these crimes, restoring peace and providing adequate protection for the lives and properties of the good people of Oyo State and Nigeria," he said.

After the inauguration of the operation, he decorated 155 police officers, who were promoted to the next rank.

The exited officers, who filed out one after the other to get decorated with their new ranks, were also counselled to exhibit professionalism in the course of their duties.

The Police Commissioner reminded them that to whom much was given, much was expected.

Niger APC, leaders ditch Bago for Gbajabiamila, Lawan

Posted: 24 Apr 2019 04:43 AM PDT

Femi Gbajabiamila
The All Progressives Congress (APC) and elected members of the House of Representatives in Niger State have dashed the hope of the member representing Chachanga Constituency, Mohammed Bago, to become the Speaker.

At a meeting on Monday evening by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, the state APC said it was supporting Femi Gbajabiamila as Speaker of the House of Representatives and Ahmed Lawan as Senate President.

Bago is one of the key contenders for the speakership position of the Ninth House of Representatives.

Niger State's APC Chairman Jibril Imam said the state decided to follow the stance of the party and its national leadership on who emerge leaders of the Ninth Assembly.

"Going by what happened during the Eighth National Assembly, the party, at all levels, decided to reach a middle ground to enable us present a formidable front on the matter," he said.

Imam said the meeting was a follow-up to an earlier one in Abuja by the party's state chairmen and governors from the Northcentral states.

The chairman said the Minna meeting was attended by serving and elected members from the state who unanimously adopted the two candidates.

He added that the endorsement was to avert the reoccurrence of what happened in the Eighth Assembly, which slowed down national progress in the last four years.

"We are loyal party members and have resolved to toe the position of the party by endorsing Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan as the Senate President of the Ninth Assembly and Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the Ninth Assembly.

"Our experience in the Eighth Assembly is not palatable and it has slowed down our progress in the last four years. We don't want a repeat of that," Imam said.

On behalf of the elected members of the House of Representatives in Niger State, Abdullahi Mahmud, representing Agaie/Lapai Constituency, said the adoption of the duo was an affirmation of party supremacy.

Terrorism war is complex, says Buratai

Posted: 24 Apr 2019 04:37 AM PDT

Tukur Yusuf Buratai
The Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai has described the fight against terrorism as complex.

He said the phenomenon requires multiple efforts, including co-operation of all citizens to combat.

Buratai, who spoke at the opening of the second Infantry Conference in Jaji Military Cantonment, Kaduna State, said the Armed Forces had performed creditably well and would continue to protect the territorial integrity of Nigeria.

He said: "Today, we have the full initiative and in collaboration with other sister agencies. We are pushing hard to ensure that we finally sanitised the northern Borno and our border axis with Niger, Chad and Cameroon.

"We know they have plans, but we are also planning to counter them and we will deploy maximum intelligence to capture those that still remain in the hinterland.

"Terrorism is complex warfare which needs the involvement of every individual in the country. If we are able to do so, we will contain the criminals.

"It should not be left to the security personnel or governments at all levels or the traditional rulers alone. It is a joint responsibility and we are all stakeholders.

"These criminals are not coming from the blues. They live among us in society. They go to the markets and buy foodstuffs, just like the rest of us.
"Some of them go to naming, marriage ceremonies and so on. It is our responsibility to make everybody aware that we all have a role to play in bringing the activities of these criminal elements to an end."

The Commander of Infantry Corps, Maj.-Gen. Stevenson Olusegun Olabanji said: "The nation is currently grappling with a lot of security challenges with the scourge of terrorism in the Northeast being the most prominent.

"The Infantry Corps has been at the vanguard of the Army's efforts in combating these multi-prolonged threats and, in the process, making high demands on our personnel, equipment other materials."

Buhari woos Qatar on investments, recharge of Lake Chad

Posted: 24 Apr 2019 04:26 AM PDT

Muhammadu Buhari and  Emir Qatar
The recharge of the Lake Chad with water from Congo basin dominated talks yesterday when President Muhammadu Buhari hosted the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Althani.

In a statement issues at the end of the meeting and signed by the media aide to the President, Mr Femi Adesina, the issue of investments in sectors like petroleum, power, aviation, agriculture, railways and many others, also featured prominently in the discussions.

The President stressed the need for the recharge of Lake Chad with water from the Congo Basin to bring succour to the more than 30 million people adversely affected by the shrinkage of the lake over the years.

"We invite you to invest in our refineries, pipelines, power sector, aviation, agriculture, education, and many others so that you can have your management here to oversee the investment. We need your expertise," President Buhari said.

On the receding Lake Chad, he noted that of the over 30 million people affected, more than half are in Nigeria.

According to him, the development has contributed greatly to illegal migration, as innumerable youths dare the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea to find safer shores in Europe with a large number of them dying in the process.

"We need help with the recharge of Lake Chad, as it is not a project that the concerned countries can handle alone," President Buhari said, adding: "Recharging the lake will bring back fishing, farming, animal husbandry, and youths won't be attracted by insurgency or illegal migration. We want Qatar to be involved because of the humanitarian nature of the endeavour."

Sheikh Hamad Al-Thani said he was honoured and happy to be in Nigeria for the first time.

The Qatari leader stressed that it was a reciprocal visit to the one embarked upon in 2016 by President Buhari.

He said: "The relationship between our countries is very good. We just have to build on it. We share a lot of similarities in different areas. We need to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation. We are willing to do a lot more with Nigeria, and will continue to work on investment opportunities of mutual benefit."

The Qatari leader arrived the forecourt of the Presidential Villa in Abuja at 12:11 p.m in a dark ash suit, white shirt, navy blue tie and black shoes.

He was received by President Buhari at the forecourt.

After a brief ceremony at the forecourt, which lasted about 30 minutes, the two leaders went into the meeting.
The return visit is coming three years after President Buhari visited Doha, the Qatari capital, in February 2016, where the Nigerian leader attended a meeting of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
The emir is expected to return to Doha today.
