Trouble started after Stonebwoy was announced the winner of 'Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year,' the fifth consecutive time he is winning the award. While Stonebwoy was on stage picking up the award and delivering his speech, Shatta Wale and his team began to walk up to him. There are theories as to why Shatta was walking to the stage, some say he was going to celebrate with Stonebwoy, others say he was going to cause trouble. Over the years, the two stars have hardly seen eye to eye. As Shatta got on stage, his team and that of Stonebwoy started attacking each other, after which Stonebwoy pulled out a gun. Police and security personnel got on stage to restore order. Shatta took to Twitter after the incident and said: "Don't play with a lion like that …He dislikes to smell blood !!!" He also hurled insults at Stonebwoy and called on the police to do their work and collect his gun. "If ghana police no collect your gun because of your trigger happy life ,I swear I will comot gun anywhere I see u and even if they cease my gun for doing that I will show you I have more guns ..Cuz you didn't only threatened my life but the lives of people … Imagine as you commot ,I commot ,what you feel say you cause.cuz I was told by the Law that until someone threatens to kill me with gun ,I should not take mine out …Ghana police do your work well I beg waaa cuz now sef people come give warning shots around my house If Gh police don't show you how to handle a gun erh . it will be nice when I meet u paa.cuz I don't take gun out and pose.I shoot.Fool !!! When Stonebwoy came on stage to accept his second award for the night, 'Best Collaboration of the Year', he apologized for the incident. He said: I'm really sorry for the incident that happened earlier on and I only had to react out of natural instincts because we all know how premeditative some people can be. We've seen on social media the treats and everything so we couldn't come in unprepared because anything could have happened like you guys saw. I come in peace and I go in peace and I apologise to the whole masses of Ghana that the Awards is going to continue. Recall that after Iyabo Ojo shared an emotional video on Mother's day telling her followers her journey to being a single mother of two, her crashed marriage and encouraging mothers while in tears, Kemi Olunloyo told her she is shedding crocodile tears and her tears had just started. Kemi's response provoked Iyabo Ojo to make another video addressing the blogger, warning that if she does not stop attacking her daughter, she would return to jail. Looks like she took the advice as she shares her own emotional video on her Youtube channel, crying while she tells the public that she will leave everything to God. She also revealed that even though the incident with the actress ruined her career and sent her to jail, she has plans for the future which centres around rebranding and possibly having her own talk show. She also used the oppurtunity to reach out to fans who have always wanted to donate towards her treatment and finance, she shared her account details in the description of the video shared. Tweeting, Ben Murray-Bruce wrote, This picture is not from Europe or America. This is Rwanda. They have e-bikes in the street that you locate with a mobile app. You use them abs return them. They are charged by solar panels. They are saving Rwandans both time and money. Rwanda is becoming a small giant of Africa.  However, another user of the social app noticed a disparity in the claims the Senator was making and the truth about the picture he posted. An Ikeja High court sitting in Lagos State on Monday, sentenced two former gang members of Evans, the billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, to 41 years in prison.Also sentenced by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, are the convicts, 32-year-old Kelvin Emenike Ukoh and Emeka Obasi, 33 over the abduction of one Ugoje Jude, a shipping agent, and his staff, Miss Piriye Gogo on August 3, 2012.According to the report, both convicts were arraigned in 2013 alongside three others: Uche Igbani, 28, Chibuzor Osuagwu, 33 and a 36-year-old woman, Onowu Ngozi, on a 14 count-charge bothering on conspiracy, kidnapping.Ugoje and another staff, Piriye Gogo, were kidnapped by the gang and were taken to an unknown destination by their leader, Evans.Narrating her ordeal before the court, Miss Gogo said that the three men accosted them with rifles on their way home and that she was almost raped inside the car, but was saved by her monthly menstrual period.While being led in evidence before the court, Gogo disclosed that during the abduction, one of the kidnappers, Obasi, came into the car, after dragging her boss out for negotiation at an undisclosed location, and started fondling with her breast. Gogo said, "He came into the car, tore my clothes, pulled down a side of my bra and began caressing my breast. He thereafter started dragging down my shirt and I began begging him. I begged him until I had nothing else I could plead with. I begged him intensely for mercy and even told him that I was menstruating. "It was as though all my pleas fail on deaf ears, I had to insert my hand into my vagina just to show him. The blood I showed him prevented him from raping me. It was a terrible experience. "He, thereafter, asked whether Mr. Jude was the owner of the company. And I replied that we were just clearing agents. They also seized our mobile phones, jewellery and money. "They blindfolded Mr. Jude, brought him back into the car, asked me to face down with my eyes closed, and then drove off to another location. They spoke Igbo almost all the time so I could barely understand what they were saying or taking us to. "While driving off to the other location, they asked if I could drive, I said no. So they dropped down from the car and took Mr Jude with them. They ordered me to face down and not look at their faces or I will be shot dead. They abandoned me and the Honda pilot car at 2nd bridge alongside expressway, where I waited until I saw a police patrol and flagged them. Also testifying, Jude said his abductors initially ordered him to pay N10m for his release but after negotiations, they collected N5m. Justice Taiwo, the trial judge, having listened to them, convicted and sentenced Ukoh and Obasi to 5, 15 and 21 years for conspiracy, kidnapping and armed robbery respectively, while the other three were discharged and acquitted by court. However, the Judge acquitted Igbani, Osuagwu and Ngozi, having held that the prosecution could not prove that they were linked to the alleged charges of murder, conspiracy, kidnapping and armed robbery.  | ||
| The ‘Game of Thrones’ Finale We All Deserved Is This! Posted: 19 May 2019 05:00 PM PDT
The final episode of Game of Thrones airs on Sunday night on HBO, and millions of people are going to watch it in spite of how bad the final season has been so far. Millions more are going to be late for work before it, because, let's face it, it's the biggest TV show there ever was.I decided I wasn't going to wait until it airs, and having just seen it, I can say that it's about as satisfying as you'd expect from the finale of a series that kept us on the edges of our seats for almost a decade. That's not to say it was perfect — no series finale ever is — but it sure got us to end of this massive tale, leaving us wondering where things will head next in Westeros. Mind you, some spoilers will obviously follow below so stop reading if you want to be surprised.From the moment David Benioff and D.B. Weiss's story left the books behind, it became clearer and clearer that some (most?) of the magic would be lost. It's one thing to rely on George R.R. Martin's intricate story and quite another to make it up as you go along, even if Martin helped with the finale. After all, Benioff and Weiss said for a while now that they knew exactly where the story was going, and they've always had a plan for how to finish the series.Some fans will not be happy with the way things end, with the arcs of their favorite characters, or the way the showrunners went about this season. I've said this before and the feeling is still here. It sure seems like we're sprinting through this series, as there are plenty of moments that deserve more screen time. And we still have so many things that defy logic all for the sake of the story. But we'll just have to forgive Benioff and Weiss, considering how it all ends.Before I tell you how things end for each of the main characters, I'll explain why the ending is so great. It leaves things open to the imagination. There's no happy or sad end here; this is just life in the Seven Kingdoms. Let's not forget that each generation seems to have their period of conflict, followed by a spell of peace and prosperity. Ned and Robert's generation had to deal with war, bloodshed, shocking secrets, and heartache. Nothing changes for Jon, Sansa, and Dany's generation. Out with the old and in with the new, as they say, but the same game of thrones will always be played. It's only the pieces on the board that change and winter is always coming to Westeros. Sure, we have dragons now, for however long that lasts, but Westeros has witnessed these magical creatures before.The Jon Snow and Daenerys dynamic is so fun to watch. One is looking to uphold the code of honor he learned from the man he considers his father, and the other would do anything to sit on the iron throne. It's also abundantly clear from the meaningful interactions between the two during the finale there's plenty of passion and love there, no matter how problematic it might all be because of Jon's true identity. Tyrion's near-death experience serves the story well, further advancing his arc. He may be a dwarf and the outcast Lannister, but he won't shy away from a fight, or at least intense verbal confrontation just because of his stature. And nobody likes dwarf jokes anyhow, especially the bad kind. Sansa and Arya prove that they're the future of Winterfell, and maybe of all of Westeros. They've grown a lot in the decade we've been with them. Arya may be a dangerous opponent, but Sansa is just as fierce. She may as well be the smartest person left alive in the North, and you can tell she learned so much from everything she had to go through to get back home and lead her people. Even from Littlefinger, the kind of Game of Thrones villain we'll certainly miss. Sansa's brother Bran has reached a place where he could be of immense help to his siblings, given that he's able to warg into anything that moves and witness everything that happened in the past. He's an invaluable resource, the sort of Google-of-Westeros that any ruler might need. He could also be the perfect ruler for the Seven Kingdoms, although three-eyed-ravens shouldn't really do any of that. Pair Bran with Sam, and you've got a duo of advisers who happen to have everything you'd need to understand the current state of affairs in Westeros. The two of them could point out exactly why the ongoing conflict is so misconstrued and explain it in layman's terms to everyone in the realm, from nobleman to farmer. Bran and Sam could indeed pave the way for long-lasting peace, although this is just speculation given how the finale ends. Aside from Tyrion, the Lannister family name might be doomed, although we're all left to wonder what will happen next. Cersei lied to everyone including Jaime when she pledged her armies to fight the Night King, something we should have all seen coming, and something that would come to haunt her. Jaime's decision to head up north, even if it all meant going up there by himself to face a bunch of people who want him dead, was a massive development for the character, who may have finally redeemed himself after all. Finally, there's the Night King's arrival at the Wall and the complete destruction of the Watch's defenses. Just wow! By the way, did Tormund and Beric survive all that chaos? We may never know. The Night King is finally moving south, riding a dragon and leading one of the biggest armies the Seven Kingdoms has ever seen. The upcoming battle between the dead and the living will be epic and catastrophic, and if there's one thing that saddens me about the finale it's that we're never going to get to see that battle take place. Game of Thrones already delivered a couple of epic battles, including Hardhome and the Battle of the Bastards, and the only thing that could outdo those clashes is a fight against the Night King and his any of wights. But herein lies the beauty of the Game of Thrones finale. We never get to see that battle or how the dragons will face off. We never get to see how Jon finds out he's the true heir to the throne, or find out what that revelation will do to his relationship with Dany and the Stark children. We never get to see the Cleganebowl we've been promised but don't really need. We'll never see who kills Cersei or whether she actually dies in the upcoming clash. And we'll never learn who will occupy the Iron Throne in the end. It's all left to our imagination, and that's why HBO's glorious conclusion to Game of Thrones season 7, which also happens to be the final episode of the series, is so amazing. After all, no matter how all these characters deal with their demons, they're all just ever-changing pieces on a Game of Thrones board that never changes. Culled from: BGR.COM  | ||

The election petition tribunal for Niger State Guber election, has thrown away the application by counsel to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello and the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the 2019 election, seeking to disqualify the lead counsel to the petitioner and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Umar Nasko.Mr. Samuel Okutepa, SAN, lead counsel to Governor Bello and APC, had at the resumed sitting in Minna on Saturday, asked the tribunal to disqualify the lead counsel to the PDP candidate, Alhaji Abdulmalik Ndayako, on the grounds that he (Ndayako) was the running mate to the petitioner in the election.The representation of PDP petitioner by Abdulmalik Ndayako, was opposed by Mr. Okutekpa argued that he (Ndayako) was an active participant in the matter that brought about the petition, The Sun News reports.According to Mr. Okutekpa, Abdulmalik Ndayako was the running mate to Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko, the petitioner, as such under the law could not represent himself in the case.But in his response to the application counsel to Umar Nasko, Alhaji Abdulmalik Ndayako, described the position of the lead counsel to the petitioner as an attempt to waste time saying that the law allowed him to represent himself and the petitioner in the case before the tribunal.READ: Presidency 2023: Igbo Will Not Produce President, Amaechi States, Advises Atiku Ndayako quoting Rule 20 Sub section 1 of the professional ethics law, Section 3 of the 3rd amendment to the electoral act and Section 285 of the 1999 Constitution said under the law, he could represent the petitioner. In the ruling on the application in Minna on Sunday, the Chairman of the tribunal Justice J. Igboji dismissed Okutepa's application, saying that Ndayako is eminently qualified to represent the petitioner on the ground that he (Ndayako only contested the election as the deputy governorship candidate and was not part of the decision making of INEC. The tribunal further held that Ndayako was not listed as a witness in the case, and that the tribunal could not at that point speculate whether or not he would become a witness in the case. According to the tribunal, Ndayako's name had not being mentioned in any of the processes that would warrant his disqualification, pointing out that the tribunal does not deal in speculations. In his reaction, counsel to the PDP and the party's candidate described the position of the tribunal as "very right" saying that "they have vindicated our stand on the application." Senator Shehu Sani, lawmaker representing Kaduna Central district at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly, has revealed what happened to the bill for electric cars introduced to the Senate by Senator Ben Murray.According to media reports, the Senate, rejected the bill seeking to phase out the use of petrol-powered cars in Nigeria and adopt those powered by electricity.The bill was sponsored by Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, Senator representing Bayelsa East.The lawmaker had argued in the Bill, that it would be cheaper to use electric-powered cars than the current petrol cars being used in Nigeria.Ben Bruce noted that Nigeria has been spending over N1trillion naira subsidizing petrol usage in Nigeria, Daily Post reports.He argued that with electric cars, fuel subsidy would be a thing of the past. Following an attack by unknown gunmen at a hotel in Jos, Plateau State, one person has been reportedly killed and several others injured.The sad incident took place at the Garden Palace Hotel and Bar in Busa Buji suburb of Jos, on Saturday evening when football fans were watching the FA Cup match between Man City and Watford.An eyewitness account said that the gunmen, suspected to be cultists, stormed the Garden Palace Hotel and Bar in Busa Buji suburb of Jos around 7pm on Saturday and opened fire on the football fans, SaharaReporters reports.One Mr.Philip, a resident in the area, who escaped being unhurt, said that during the incident, a local footballer identified as John Davou, was hit three times in the head by the gunmen who also killed another young man instantly, while injuring several others.Philip said, "What I know is that during the attack, John Davou, 25, died instantly, while another man, Mr. Francis Bot, who was sitting close to him, sustained bullet wounds."Several others also sustained injuries while trying to escape from the scene." Eniola Badmus has dragged and shamed fellow actress, Uche Ogbodo, over her n#de birthday photoshoot. This comes after she agreed with controversial blogger, Kemi Omololu Olunloyo on her massive body mass. Kemi Olunloyo alleged that Badmus is prone to terminal diseases due to her being obese and her former friend, Uche Ogbodo attested painfully to that. Eniola Badmus then waited for her pound of flesh which she has taken today. She called Uche out on her Instagram page recently and really made jest of her for her unclad photos she posted to celebrate her birthday yesterday. | 22 Internet Fraudsters Arrested by EFCC in Delta State Alongside Exotic Cars they Own Posted: 19 May 2019 03:00 AM PDT  Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Advance Fee Fraud Section, Abuja Headquarters in collaboration with men from the Benin Zonal Office in an operation on Friday 17, 2019 arrested 22 suspected internet fraudsters during an early morning raid at Sapele, Delta State. Working on intelligence reports, the suspects, who are between the ages of 18 to 30 years, were smoked out from their hideout in an early morning operation. A day earlier, the operatives from Abuja had arrested two suspected internet fraudster in Ughelli, Delta State. Items recovered from the suspects include lap top computers, iPhones, phones, ATM cards and three exotic vehicles. The cars are Benz C350, Benz ML 350 and Chrysler 300. The raid on the internet fraudsters is one in the series by operatives of the Commission in line with the directive of the acting Executive Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu to rid the entire country of internet fraud and cyber crime. The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon investigations are completed. | Nigerian Youths protest the release of Naira Marley as they storm EFCC Office Posted: 19 May 2019 02:30 AM PDT
Fans of Nigerian rapper, took to the streets of Lagos to protest the arrest of Naira Marley. The youths earlier stormed the Lagos office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), while chanting "Free Naira Marley". They are demanding the release of their superstar who is held on charges bothering on internet fraud.  The EFCC is backing on Section 33 (2) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act and the Cyber Crimes Act to prosecute the artiste. It states tha "Any person who uses: a counterfeit access device; an unauthorised access device; an access device issued to another person; resulting in a loss or gain commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term of not more than seven years or a fine of not more than N5,000,000.00 and forfeiture of the advantage or value derived from his act." Some of the counts in the charges filed against Naira Marley includes, "That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley, and Raze (still at large), on or about the 11th day of December 2018, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, conspired amongst yourselves to use Access card 42658840359191132 issued to persons other than you in a bid to obtain gain and you thereby committed an offense contrary to Section 27(1)(b) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention etc) Act 2015 and punishable under Section 33(2) of the Same Act. "That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley, and Raze (still at large), on or about the 10th day of May 2019, within the jurisdiction of this honorable court, with intent to defraud possessed, counterfeit card 4921819410257431 issued to Timea Fedorne Tatar and you thereby committed an offense contrary to and punishable under Section 33(9) of Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act 2015." The charges with suit number FHC/L/178C/19 was filed before a Lagos State High Court. Naira Marley will be arraigned in court on Monday. Oshiomhole said, "You visit a hospital, one doctor is gynaecologist, psychologist, pediatric, and the doctor treats everything. My wife was unfortunate to have been diagnosed as having something different while the cancer in her breast was growing. "This generalized system of medical system is what we must review. It is not the task of government that things are not working. People elect government to make things work. That was why I decided to build what I called Five Star hospital to replace the decayed Central Hospital. I do hope that one day that hospital will open and you will see the equipment. "One thing we need to do is appropriate compensation. When we have the right policy framework, the other level of compensation, people are paid according to, I believe doctors working outside the country will come back."
