Mr Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria's Minister of Transportation, says the support and commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari to the development of transport infrastructure led to his achievements in the last four years.The Minister revealed this during his valedictory news conference on Thursday in Abuja.Amaechi said that the interest of the President was the yardstick for the performance of any minister."The president's commitment to developing rail infrastructure was the secret behind our success in the ministry of transportation,'' he said.READ ALSO: Buhari Almost Converted Me To Islam - Rotimi AmaechiOn rail projects, the Minister, said Abuja-Kaduna Rail line and Lagos-Ibadan line were the biggest achievement of the government, adding that other rail projects had also achieved appreciable level of progress. He added that a lot had been achieved in the inland waterways, adding that the ports were reorganised for efficiency. In aviation, the minister explained that two of the four international terminal buildings in Port Harcourt and Abuja airports were completed while others in Kano and Lagos were at various stages of completion. On national carrier, he said that the cabinet was divided on the issue of modality, explaining that there were those who believed government should invest and then sell the equity later. According to him, there are also those who believed in getting investors in and giving them the franchise of Nigeria Airways or Air Nigeria. "That is where we are and that is what held it down. But as for whether it is still in our plan, it is and has not been abandoned," he said. The acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has been confirmed as the substantive Inspector General of Police (IGP).The Police Council headed by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, confirmed the appointment, at the presidential villa, Abuja with state governors in attendance.Dr Kayode Fayemi, a member of the Council and Governor of Ekiti State, briefed the State House correspondents at the end of the council's meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, NAN reports.Adamu was appointed acting IGP on Jan. 15, by President Buhari, following the retirement of his predecessor, Ibrahim Idris."The Council looked at the records of the acting Inspector-General of Police, who has been on the saddle now since Jan. 15, 2019.READ ALSO: Atiku Vs Buhari: See What Happened Today Wednesday, At Presidential Election Tribunal "A cross section of members of council were very clear that given his passion and commitment, professionalism and his extensive experience locally and internationally, his acting inspector-general of police was approved. He stated that the council acknowledged that government at all levels must address the root causes of crimes with a view to checking criminal behaviours in the society. "We will have to do a little more because many of these challenges are socio-economic in nature and need to look at the sociological underpinning of crime. "It is not just being tough on crime but also being tough on causes of crime by addressing these causes most fundamentally. "Council acknowledged that we will give the IGP the support that he deserves. Already, at the state level, many of you are aware that state governors are supporting the police in many ways and we are not tired of doing that,'' he added. Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking gears up to release his second studio album titled "Wilmer". The album is named after his daughter whom he composed a really long poem for. Of all the singles the singer has released since 2017, only 'Confirm' featuring Davido and the Fela-inspired 'Lenge Lenge' made the album, Wilmer. He further revealed that this year makes it ten years of repeated and consistent occurrence, which has led to severe damages to properties and at times leading to temporary displacement. A flooded house due to the the overflowing canal behind our street. To make matters worse, noone was at home save my dad, so the oldman and I had to be saving properties and scooping water out of the house! This year makes it ten years of repeated and consistent occirence of this with severe damages done annually to properties, at times leading to temporary displacement! When Chief Beecroft died, the crying looked painfully rehearsed. Of course, it was rehearsed, but it wasn't supposed to be painfully obvious. Everyone in the movie seemed to have come to the table with their F-games. First off, the movie ran dangerously low on emotions of any sort and what is anything of worth in the world without emotions. The vibes exuded by most of the main cast lacked zest.Everything seemed mechanical and hackneyed.  Rachael Oniga (Ajoke) tried though… Scratch that. The waterworks which was lacking in moisture, turned out to be poorly-schooled theatrics. It seemed as though nobody truly cared about the deceased billionaire. He had barely been certified dead before the hovering buzzards swooped in to pick his remains. Errr…Kemi (Joke Silva) seemed to care. And boy, whatever Ini Edo did to her body, I want. The directing of the movie was fundamentally wrong. Emotions were translated wrongly. The director did a thoroughly crappy job. So, Justina (Linda Ejiofor) hears of the Chief's demise and goes straight from thinking 'gone' meant he'd gone on a vacation to talking about his will…how…just how?  It was a crazy and somewhat unrealistic way to react over the news of the death of a man who allegedly adopted her and spoiled her with the fine things of life. Even if the director meant to portray the chief's family and friends as buzzards, the delivery was still below the bar. I winced whenever Falz said 'basically'. It was the first time I thought of Falz as unimpressive. His scenes grated on my nerves. To say the very least. The interpretation of emotions and synergy between the actors were poor. They were all like strange bed fellows. Unfit puzzle pieces. It's no wonder the entire delivery was a little less serious than elementary school drama. Chigul has some comedy talents that will be appreciated if she strips off some of the padded layers of mediocrity. Bisola Aiyeola is an excellent…excellent actor. Her reaction when she was woken rudely by her 'madam' was everything. It was original. In my opinion, she is currently about the most original actor in Nollywood. The MC at the funeral ceremony is a perfect representation of everything Nigerian MCs are. You pay them to keep your guests entertained and instead of being creative enough to come up with entertainment befitting of the occasion and guests, they insult guests and in some cases, their clients. The wrap-up like the other parts of the film was not realistic. I sincerely hope the producer resists the urge to do an encore. Phew! Tonto Dikeh while reacting to a photoshopped image of her getting married to Bobrisky, threw a jab at her ex-husband again. The mother-of-one shared a photoshopped image of her with Bobrisky then included a caption that mocked her ex-husband, Olakunle Oladunni Churchill. "The wedding I didn't pay for," the caption reads in part, adding, "Bob with you atleast I know say I no go spend one naria to marry you!!! #Mymoneysaved"  Recall that Tonto Dikeh revealed that she was the one who sponsored her wedding to Churchill and paid for everything down to her groom's shoes. Jealousy can spell the end of even the strongest of friendships and if you do not believe that there is an issue, you run the risk of losing that friendship. Of course, it's not easy to acknowledge and tackle a jealous friend but if you value the friendship and want to be able to move past the situation, you simply have no choice. Jealousy in friendship takes many forms, some subtle, others not so much. Some friends might accuse you of being too proud and rubbing your triumphs in their faces. Unfortunately, there are people out there, friends or not, who just want to bring you down because your life appears better than theirs. Whether its through snide comments or being dismissive of your accomplishments, there's always that one person who, not matter the situation, refuses to be happy for us. People say that you should be flattered when people get jealous of you, but within a friendship, jealousy is like a rot that simply refuses to heal and can completely ruin the bond you share. So, what are the solutions and what can be done to improve the situation if you know that a good friend has something against you? You might have gotten a fancy new job, lost weight in all the right places, gotten your writing published, or even gotten engaged. Naturally, your first instinct is to share the good news with the people you care about the most, your family and friends. But what do you do when their reactions are not what you expected? This will probably leave you feeling hurt and confused as to why they are acting this way but understand that the problem is not with you, it's with them. If you want to salvage the friendship then you need to take into account these next 3 steps. Dont ignore it Ignoring the situation will only make things worse and it will worsen like a cut that has not been treated and will end up infecting every part of the friendship. If you leave it and let the unhappiness and jealousy grow, you will only make the division between the two of you larger until it is simply beyond repair. You may also start feeling resentful towards that person and unconsciously root for them to fail, just like they are doing to you. Jealousy begets jealousy and you may find yourself mirroring their actions ad turning into somebody that you don't like. Depending on how close you are to this friend, you need to decide if you should just let it go or confront them. If you want to salvage the relationship or cut it off officially, it is advisable that you confront them, make them aware that you have noticed their behaviour and do not want it to continue. Communicate honestly yet gently Honest communication is the key to fixing most things including unhealthy behaviour among friends. Take the time to speak to your friend about how they're acting and how their behaviour is affecting you. Be honest and gentle and remember that they are holding onto resentment and the only way for them to let it go is for you acknowledge it, understand it and try to help them let go of it. Their initial instinct will be to deny it altogether but do not let that sway you. Don't start the conversation with something as blunt as, "I know you are jealous of me". Instead, open up with, "I have noticed that things have changed between us and that you seem distant." Make it clear that something has to change in order for your friendship to move forward positively and let them know how much you value the friendship and want it to work. Try and understand why Another important thing that you have to do is to understand 'why' your friend is acting the way they are. Why are they jealous of you? Why does this person feel this way now? Why does this person always have to turn things into a competition? Why does this person feel the need to watch you fail? Most of the time, people have their own reasons for feeling jealous.Often, the person sees something in you or another person that makes them feel that they aren't as good. It could be real or imagined, but the feelings of inadequacy are projected through negative thoughts or actions. Jealousy emerges as a reaction or solution to those feelings of inadequacy. Instead of dealing with these underlying feelings of inadequacy, the jealousy turns into little digs and insults when they are together. The actress made this known via her Instagram page on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. According to her even though she has never been a fan of Internet fraud because of the bad name it has given to the country, Naira Marley is innocent until proved guilty. "I don't know this young man. I believe everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty. I condemn any form of crime. I condemn cyber crimes. My family have been victims of frauds and the pain caused is always palpable. That being said, I hope our young men and women will begin to do the needful by speaking up and standing up to their elected officials and demand better governance and accountability so we can eradicate this pandemic " scam" ravaging our society and image locally and internationally. Please, guys, the time and talent wasted in cybercrime and other forms of crime can be used well," she wrote. She then went on to admonish the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to exact same energy used in prosecuting Naira Marley in arresting corrupt politicians and government officials in the country. "Nigerian youths deserve better from their government. What happened in Sudan and Arab spring will come to our shores if our elected officials and politicians don't begin to address the hunger, poverty, and joblessness amongst Nigerian youths. I don't know this young and I pray for him that they tamper justice with mercy. @officialefcc, I will be more than glad if you start arresting our politicians who are looting our National treasury this way. I hope you show this same show of force to the cabals causing untold hardship on the Nigerian citizenry. "I hope you hold every criminal in Nigeria accountable like this. If you use this amount of security and force on this young man according to your policy and procedures, I hope every politician and public office holders who steal from our treasury will be treated like this, so that equal justice will be served under the law. Our society is so corrupt and sadly, the legal system works differently depending on your social-political status," she concluded.
