The actress had taken to Instagram to share a new photograph of herself causing many of her fans to comment nicely and like the image until a troll decided to be disrespectful. The troll took to Halima's comment section to marriage-shame her asking that she gets married already as she is getting old. The troll added that the actress being Hausa should know this already. The main opposition party in Nigeria, the People's Democratic Party, PDP, have cried out, that the South-West Geo-political zone of the country has been taken over by Fulani herdsmen.The party said that the people in the region were now being terrorised as the six states of the zone are under siege without any aid from the federal government.The opposition party said this while appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari, the security chiefs and the governors of the six states of the region to take measure to save the people from terrorists' attack.Dr Eddy Olafeso, the National Vice Chairman (South West) of PDP, who spoke in a statement on Sunday, said the last four years of the Buhari government was unfavourable, Daily Post reports.READ ALSO: Five Useful Idiots And The Spirit Of The Accursed Slave (part 1) - By Femi Fani KayodeAccording to him, "Nigerians are full of fear and trepidation as insecurity across the length and breadth of the nation continues to grow in alarming proportion and with no sign that the President is in any manner ready, equipped and prepared to bail the nation out of the violence, war, destruction and needless deaths. And there is the danger that resort to self help may soon become the order of the day, except he takes concrete security actions in the South West immediately. "It is important that we put on record that when we contemplate the horrors of Rwanda in the 1990s and the possibility of same in our nation today, our hearts sink; we must begin to put in place, actions to safeguard our nation and particularly our God-given fatherland. "In view of the foregoing, we demand that President Buhari should immediately order the security agencies to flush these criminals out of the South West. "However, taking due cognisance of the President's lethargy and pussyfooting, we may not expect this to happen soon; our conclusion in this direction is reinforced by the fact that he only recently gave a directive concerning the Apapa road debacle after years of crisis and suffering it posed to the people and national economy. The regulatory body in charge of broadcasting in Nigeria, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), has condemned reports that the commission gave radio licence to herdsmen, elaborating that, the licence was given to National Commission for Nomadic Education to develop and maintain nomadic education outreach programmes.Mr. Ekanem Antia, an Assistant Director in the commission, made this known in a statement issued on Saturday.The commission said that the National Commission for Nomadic Education duly applied for a broadcast license in furtherance of its objectives to develop and maintain nomadic education outreach programmes, including electronically mediated ones, SaharaReporters reports."The Commission is reacting to the media controversy over the license granted to the National Commission for Nomadic Education for the establishment of a radio station to operate on the AM band."The National Commission for Nomadic Education duly applied for a Broadcast license in furtherance of its objectives to develop and maintain nomadic education outreach programmes, including electronically mediated ones.READ ALSO: Middle Belt, Southern Leaders Kicks As FG Is Set To Create Radio Station For Herdsmen "The letter of provisional approval dated September 28th, 2018, was issued to the National Commission for Nomadic Education. The duration of the license is from October 8th, 2018 to October 8th, 2023. "The station's programmes, which shall be purely educational, are designed to cater for the interest of migrant fishermen, herders, hunters, farmers, and migrants. Consequently, it is a misrepresentation for any person, or organization to imply that the licensed station was just for a particular group," the NBC said. The Commission also disclosed that similar educational broadcast licenses were issued to institutions of higher learning and other governmental institutions with comparable needs, such as the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Federal Road Safety Commission, and related institutions. "Specifically, the Commission enjoins broadcasting stations to take special note of the following provisions of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, which emphasize peace and national integration. "While upholding professionalism and observing global best practices, stations are further advised to treat potentially divisive issues with tact and sensitivity," the NBC said. The management of NBC called on all broadcasting stations to exercise restraint in the treatment of sensitive issues that could threaten the unity and stability of Nigeria. The NBC enjoined broadcasting stations to be professional and take guidance from the Nigeria Broadcasting Code at all times. It reminded all broadcasters to be mindful of their social responsibility to promote the well-being and peaceful co-existence of the various groups in the country in keeping with the objectives of broadcasting in Nigeria.  | ||

MTN Nigeria Communication Plc, has reacted over what it said it's currently experiencing in the hands of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), investigating it over an allegation bothering on manipulation of its share that was recently listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).Mr. Uto Ukpanah, the Company Secretary on Saturday, in a statement confirmed the situation.The communication company in the statement revealed that EFCC had already requested for some information relating to the May 16 listing.Going further, MTN said it obtained all the necessary regulatory approvals before it commenced trading the stock."We wish to reiterate that we received all regulatory approvals required to list on the Nigerian Stock Exchange as publicly confirmed by the NSE Securities and Exchange Commission," part of the statement read.It could be recalled that MTN's head office in Ikoyi, Lagos was raided on Friday by some officials of the anti graft Agency, Ripples Nigeria reports. The producers of the movie are accused of using the country's famous traditional fabric, Kente, without appropriate permission. According to the Ghana National Folklore Board, the producers ought to have gotten permission from them before using the traditional Kente fabric in the film. Reports says that though Ghana National Folklore Board are yet to officially write Marvel who produced the movie that broke several box office records netting 1.344 billion dollars as of May 22, 2018. In this interview, Etinosa whose marriage to a military personnel crashed due to domestic violence shares her lessons, challenges, mistakes, love life and plans. How has life been generally? Life has been filled with ups and downs, challenges and victories. Life has been good to me. My life has been filled with the grace of God and a lot of miracles. My life is a testimony, right from my birth to my travails. And of course, my present career has been nothing but a miracle. What are you working on at the moment? I'm actually working on two projects at the moment. One is 'Charlie Charlie' by Charles Uwagbai. The other is 'Game Up' directed by Okechukwu Oku aka 'The Oracle'. 'Charlie Charlie' is an action-comedy that seeks to create awareness on immigration malpractices, money laundering, human trafficking and so on. "Game up" is about a very notorious couple who scam people for a living, until they also ended up getting scammed. How would you sum up the journey so far? The journey has not been without its challenges. I would say it has been very fast, which is like a miracle, like I said earlier. Every journey is in stages, from the lows to the highs, probably with some hiccups on the way, especially if the journey is in Nigeria, with bad roads (Laughs), you'll experience gallops here and there. I thank God for grace and that success is not a destination. It is a continuous journey and my journey keeps getting better and better. I wouldn't really say there's been any setbacks, I would say mostly lessons learnt. In terms of challenges, pushing and promoting a brand is not usually very easy in Nigeria, because so many parameters are set for you to just fail. Unfortunately, bad news and unfortunate events sell more and are promoted more. Negativity is given more push. Pushing a brand can be really challenging, but with the grace of God we are able to pull through. When did the big break come for you? That would definitely be the release of my movie "The Washerman" in August last year. It completely changed my life. It changed my career status and promoted me so greatly. I would say the release of "The Washerman" did that magic for me. What has fame robbed you of? Fame has robbed me of the chance or the room to play and be myself freely in public and even in private. Because of fame, sometimes I want to dance in a public place and my friends will remind me to "package". Now I have to think about how my actions would be misconstrued and so I just respect myself and not dance. Normally, I like to be free, to play and interact with people, even those I don't know from anywhere in a controlled environment. What's the worst rumour you've heard about yourself? That would have to be me hearing that when I was in the university, I had series of abortions and I was like Haaa! How?! (Laughs) Till now I have never had an abortion. That rumour was too crazy, because you know "In every rumour, there's an atom of truth". But there was no atom of truth in that at all. Sometimes, I sit down and ask myself who sat down to construct this kind of story. Some people are jobless oo… Any regrets? I don't have any regrets. I only have lessons learned. I feel everything that has happened to me in life was destined to happen. They were pre-arranged towards a certain purpose. I don't regret anything. If I were to go back in time, I don't think I would change anything. I would probably change my bank account balance (Laughs). What are lessons learnt from your failed marriage? Character, attitude, behaviour, habits that come around to ruin a marriage, don't just come from nowhere in a marriage. They've always been there. We've always known that this person was like this. We all see the signs before we get married, but I don't know if it's pressure or the butterflies in the tummy, that makes us overlook them and be like "Let me just manage this one". You keep managing and then, one day, you wake up and realise that you are about to die, you can no longer manage and you want to leave. The lesson here is : You see the traits in a person before getting married to that person. You know yourself, what you can take, what you don't want and what can kill you. If you see those traits, it's best to walk away before it gets ugly, while everybody is still in love and friendly with each other. "Find your level/square-root"! Don't go and force yourself when you're seeing the bad characters/things and ugly pictures of that person and still believe you'll make it work. No, you'll just kill yourself or end up with a shattered marriage. "A stitch in time saves nine". My own is, you walk out in time saves your body. Are you in talking terms with your ex-husband? No, I'm not in talking terms with him. Are you in a relationship at the moment? I'm dating at the moment. I won't call it a relationship, but yes, I'm dating. Regarding the controversial nude live video with MC Galaxy, how were you able to handle it and move on from the scandal? With the support of friends and family, I put aside all the noise around me and negative backlash and I focused on my work. Thankfully, I'm a very busy person, I have a lot of things to keep me busy and not things to remind me of who I was, but who I am. Circumstances around you should never ever define you. Irrespective of what has happened, I'm still who I am. I'm still a great person, a star and a content producer. So I focused on doing just that, doing my work and minding my business. How did it affect you personally and your career in general? Emotionally, yes it affected me. Psychologically, maybe, yes. It had positive and negative effects, mostly positive and I'm happy about that. Do you still share a cordial relationship with MC Galaxy? May 2nd was his birthday. We are in touch and I wish him well. We are good, we are friends. No bad blood. Moving on, what's next for you? Like I said, Charlie Charlie is going to be released in the cinemas hopefully in September, so I'm working very hard with Charles Uwagbai to make sure this comes through. Following his controversial video about the alleged rape of some women in Abuja by police officers, Nollywood actor, Ime Bishop Umoh, popularly known as Okon Lagos has said that he does not regret saying prostitutes have no dignity. In the video, Bishop argued that the allegation the women that were said to be prostitutes levied against the police officers shouldn't be seen as rape but stealing. His argument caused social media backlash as a lot of people accused him of justifying the alleged rape of these women. However, in an interview with Punch, Bishop said he would never justify rape. According to Punch, the actor said he decided to comment on the issue because people were condemning the act of rape and ignoring the fact that prostitution is an immoral act. He said, "I wanted to be fair in my analysis; I was trying to point out the fact that prostitution is a wrong act, so we shouldn't be malicious by talking about only rape. Why are we canonising one criminal act and demonising the other? Both acts are morally wrong. I believe in humanism; as humans, we should observe the golden rule. I am not trying to say that I am a saint; in fact, I don't want to be one so that there would be a difference between Jesus and me. It is unfortunate that some women were raped by policemen. "I am not saying it serves them right, but I am also concerned about the immoral act; prostitution. The level of moral decadence in the country is worrisome. I even saw some public figures with verified social media accounts supporting the idea that prostitution should be legalised; I don't want to call names. I won't make comments about something insensitive like that. Rape is bad, but prostitution should be addressed as an issue as well". The actor maintained that he didnt regret saying prostitutes have no dignity adding that nobody would be proud to introduce themselves as a commercial sex worker. | Peter Okoye to sue show promoter for selling his brother's show with his Photo Posted: 26 May 2019 06:39 AM PDT Peter Okoye a.k.a. Mr P of the defunct Psquare has threatened to sue a show promoter for allegedly using his photo to sell his twin brother's show in Angola.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) the organiser of the show, Pub Four posted a notice of a show with the picture of Peter and his brother Paul expecting to perform at the event. But Peter didn't seem to find it funny that his photo was being used to advertise a show that has nothing to do with him. The artiste took to his Instagram on Saturday, May 25, 2019, to threaten the show organisers saying they'll hear from his lawyer soon for using his image to sell their shows.  In the same post, Peter shared the Instagram post of his brother, Paul Okoye, a.k.a. Rudeboy arriving in Angola with his crew. You'll recall that in September 2017, Peter reportedly sent a letter to their lawyer, Festus Keyamo, demanding a termination of the partnership agreement between him and his brother.
