Toke Makinwa Shades RMD Over Plastic Surgery Comment

Toke Makinwa Shades RMD Over Plastic Surgery Comment
Toke Makinwa has once again slammed those who are criticising plastic surgery.

She wrote on her InstaStory,

"Who are you to tell a grown man/woman what to do with their body??? Why all the fuss? If you believe in cosmetic surgery, by all means. If you don't, that is okay too. Stop trying to condemn those who do. Live and let others live too".

This post is in reaction to a news we reported earlier, about a man, who made a thread on twitter, slamming religious people who criticize women for doing plastic surgery just to make themselves happy.

According to the man, there is no difference between plastic surgery and what people do at the gym.

He finally said, If you don't like your job, fix it. If you don't like your relationship, you should fix it & if you don't like a part of your body do fix it.
Not everyone does things for external validation, some people just want to feel happy internally & beautiful in their body & that's fine.

Holding on to this message, surgically enhanced, Toke Makinwa reposted it on her page and further slammed the critics.

Recall that, we reported that Nollywood actor, Richard More-Damijo said that setting goals such as weight loss, marriage, having kids, getting a butt enlargement or a boob lift cannot guarantee true happiness.

A woman who is secure in her looks has no urge to go under the knife for enhancement, think Michelle Obama, he added.

In his opinion, true happiness comes when one does not seek validation from others to live life on their own terms.

In another news, Toke Makinwa is currently working on a movie set with RMD. The movie is called "Love is war".

The fashion enthusiast is so ecstatic to be working with the seasoned actor, as she said she would treasure the experience learnt on set with him.

The movie also stars veteran actress, Omoni Oboli.

Blogger, Blessing Okoro says Onye Eze's Boys Arrested her not the Police, she Weeps Bitterly
Instagram Blogger, Blessing Okoro weeps, claims Onye Eze's boys tortured, & threatened her life.

Blessing Okoro claims Onye Eze, the real owner of the house which she claimed she built on her birthday sent his boys to arrest her and not the Police.

Blessing Okoro claims Onye Eze called her to invite her to his house, she had no idea what was going to happen there but on getting there, his boys arrested her and handcuffed her. She says no Police officer did that to her but his boys.

The blogger explained the ordeal she went through amidst tears. She blames Onye Eze and his boys for what she is being put through on social media. She went on to say her life is being threatened.

Lady states the consequences of Regina Daniels’ induction in Anioma tradition

Posted: 29 May 2019 07:30 AM PDT

Lady states the consequences of Regina Daniels' induction in Anioma tradition
Nigerian lady identified as  Onuh Chisom Maryjane, has penned down what she claimed as the consequences of Regina Daniels induction to billionaire husband Ned Nwoko, in the Anioma tradition.

According to the lady, it is just the usual induction as it allegedly carries a whole lot of consequences if Regina Daniels ever cheats on her husband.

Read what she wrote:

The implication of Anioma's marriage induction ritual

1) Regina Daniels is expected to be faithful to her husband and not sleep with another man except him.

If conji comes and he is not available or he is tired, she can touch herself by way of masturbation or use a vibrator but she is expressly forbidden to sleep with any other man except Oga Ned Nwoko.

If she mistakenly sleeps with another man who is not her husband, the gods will come after her and the punishment in the most instance is death.

If her husband is aware that she is cheating on him and refused to take action, the ritual will come after him and his older kids.

The ritual culture was designed to check the excess and curtail the infidelity of women from that part of the world.

2) In case her husband happens to be no more, she is not expected to remarry except she goes through another round of ritual to untie herself from the man.

If she mistakenly marries another man without doing this, she will die and the ritual will also come after the man that married her without asking a question.

In all these, Oga Ned is allowed to sleep with other women and acquire as many trophy wives as possible but none of the wives are permitted to cheat on him.

This is the culture of our brothers and sisters in Anioma so I don't have any personal opinion about it but let's not forget that there is no free lunch in life, not even in town

Runtown set to release 'three' music videos and embark on a worldwide tour

Runtown set to release 'three' music videos and embark on a worldwide tour
After a topsy-turvy time, and on May 24, 2019, Nigerian singer, Runtown released his new EP, Tradition one week ahead of schedule.

Speaking to Pulse about the 6-track EP, the singer refutes claims that he stopped creating. He says, "Creating again? I actually never stopped creating. Music is not a job for me. It's my life. It's like saying; how does it feel to be breathing again? I never stopped breathing."

While the singer claims he released an EP because that's what he felt like releasing, he responds that the 'vibes' on the Tradition represent the space he currently finds himself.

The singer says, "The truth is that we don't really overthink the music. At least not me. The whole idea of 'vibe' is all about energy. The vibe that this EP carries represents the energy I was on during the recording period. I have really been pursuing love and peace of mind. No matter what drama arises, I am focusing on love and positivity.

"The tone of love is tender. It is chill. I guess that's what reflected on the EP. Who knows what space I'll be in tomorrow? I focus on how I truly feel or how I want to feel and it naturally shines through my sound."

But like any creator, Runtown is sentimental about the reception from fans that he creates for.

While speaking on plans for the rest of 2019, the singer is appreciative and strategic, "The reception for the Tradition EP has been overwhelming. I think touring would be next for me. I want to see the look on people's faces when they sing the songs on the EP.

"I also want people to experience the music on a different level. So the next phase is definitely to embark on a worldwide tour, God willing."

On videos

With the video for 'Emotions' (the third track on Tradition) set for a Friday, May 31, 2019 release, he tells Pulse that, "A lot of people seem to be gravitating towards 'International Bad Man Killa' and 'Redemption.' So we'll likely follow up with official visuals for those."

As we await the release of visuals to 'Emotions,' you can listen to the song below;

Iggy Azalea isnt finding it funny that some of her photos from a magazine shoot years ago have been leaked on social media.

'Aladdin' is a commendable adaptation of a legacy animation

Posted: 29 May 2019 01:30 AM PDT

On May 22, 2019, and amidst fanfare and an expected ado of themed constumes - flowing Sarees, turbans – the movie premier for Aladdin held at Sky Cinemas, Sky Mall (Farm Bus stop, KM 46 Lekki-Epe Expressway) opposite Blenco, Sangotedo, Lagos.

'Aladdin' is a commendable adaptation of a legacy animation
For what it's meant to be, the movie is commendable and commendable, not exceptional.

One part, it was an intriguing childish fantasy flattered in a clichéd plot, fuelled by an unhealthy dose of buccaneering nostalgia while on other hand, it's an enjoyable tunnel vision into a beautiful adventure on morality.

Aladdin is the motion picture version of the 1992 animated box office hit of the same name which grossed over 500 million in 90's dollars. The movie is a thrilling, epic fantasy/adventure movie set in a fictional world resembling early Arabian/Turkish civilization.

The story piques on the life of a courageous, and upstanding street urchin, Aladdin (played by Mena Massoud) who catches the eye of the beautiful, daring, sought-after and independent princess of the fictional Agrabah, Jasmine (played by Naomi Scott).

But as a price for sneaking into the palace to see Jasmine, he got kidnapped by the King's trusted, but power-hungry advisor, Jafar (played by Marwan Kenzari). This kidnap also leads Aladdin to meet the Genie (played by Will Smith).

The story ends with a victory for Aladdin over Jafar before he marries Jasmine. He also frees the genie. The movie is also features Navid Negahban as the Sultan; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia and Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders.

Here is a review of the movie;

Plot
Detail

The plot is corny as you like - it's a fantasy, but shooting a legacy movie is hard, as there's loyalty and impact to contend with, but I'd have preferred some details over the classic clichéd sensationalism fans expect.

Some details were off. Alaadin speaking plain English having grown in what looks like a Turkish, Arabian, Indian setting where accents are expected bears echoes of errors from Prince of Persia.

Detail (Script, props and language)

What is impressive is the imagination and innovation to the script, direction, storytelling, humour and cinematic excellence.

As a part of this, there is intermittent blend of contemporary props, language and costume, with the classic setting, location and props, especially with Will Smith's character, Genie changing outfits, drinking a martini, wearing glasses, saying "ghetto chic" and things like that.

Feminism

In the plot, there are also the subtle hints of girl power, a passive reflection of the times we live in. In this version of Alaadin, Jasmine feels herself sufficient her ruler and speaks about it while everyone tells her she's lucky to have these regal suitors - a slight shift from the previous part.

The moment it becomes most apparent was when Alaadin became Prince Ali and said he came to "buy" the Princess, to which everyone was dismayed - subtle, but powerful hints of girl power. Gotta love it.

Viva girl power, Jasmine becomes a Sultan of Aggrabar - Brilliant.

Humour

Even for a practising stoic, the humour in Aladdin is unmissable. In one of the early scenes, Jasmine's handmaiden actually said of Jasmine's errant Scottish suitor, "Maybe he's a little dim (foolish), but you're only getting married. It's not like you have to speak to him?"

Commendably, the scriptwriters made the humour so effortless by making them embedded into regular, old dialogue.

Themes and sensationalism

Greed and power here are overly sensationalized to enhance the villainous tendencies of Jafar. For a fantasy, the portrayal felt too forced and aggressive.

The screenwriters could have made the villainy more organic. There's also something off about the casting of Marwan Kenzari as Jafar. I also find lion-faced entry to the cave an overly sensationalized scare-tactic - even the cave's name makes one tempted to puke.

Even the spazzed out 'badass' voice of the blood-thirsty, moral-compass-loving cave guard was unnecessary. There are better ways to represent the fabled ground for daredevils in any fantasy/adventure.

While fantasy/adventure movies with a twist of action are naturally expected to bear birthmarks of morality emblazoned across their figurative chests as a marketing tactic, that morality should never be made obvious - it should be passive.

Picture

The picture quality is not Tarrantino level, and it should not have been. The camera did a good job and the computer-generated imagery is also quite impressive.

Character, character development and performance
Asides the questionable casting of Jafar, everyone delivered, but Will Smith's character simply stood out - expectedly. I mean, it's Will Smith.

The way he incorporated multiple arcs and appearances into his genie character is impressive. Even his anecdotes are lit, when they should lose traction as objects of smooth humour, they never got old throughout the movie.

Constume
I love the effortless blend of colors - another reflection of our times. 2010's fashion are reminiscent of the 80's colour blocking era.

That's exactly what the costumiers effortlessly achieved, without making the colours stick out.

Props
Excellent. Imaginative. Detailed. Pedantic. A pedantic execution of scenery, rooted in imagination and detail. Everything, even down to the plants are impeccable.

Even the bricks and roofing reflect the hallmark of early civilization peculiar to the Arabian world.

Soundtrack
The musical edge is corny, but one cannot miss the introspect and apt reflection in each lyric as an echo of the scene or act - extra detail, if you wish.

The substance in some lyrics follow. One of such scene sees Alaadin reflect upon how people wrongly perceive him, lamenting how he's more than a thief on 'One Jump Ahead.' There was also a scene where Jasmine sings about wanting her voice to be heard – a hint of feminism on 'Speechless' (Part I).

'Prince Ali' is a personal favourite, but 'A Whole New World' feels like the single. 'Speechless' is also great song, but the scene it cames with and the on after it are pseudo-climactic and terribly corny.

On a final note, I'd pay to be a genie.

This Photo of Nollywood queens would leave you in awe
You would agree with us when we say the photo of the reunion of the cast of 'GirlsCot' is the photo of the year.

Okay guys, if you were born between the year 2000 and above then you wont be able to relate to this photo.
We would call these women the original six goddesses of the TV screen from over a decade ago. When you have Ini Edo, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Uche Jombo, Rita Dominic and Stephanie Linus in one photo, then you know its a sign of good luck.

Trust us when we say these women where and still remain the biggest actresses to make waves in the Nollywood. They made every movie a hit...if they weren't in the movie, no one was going to watch it.

Over the weekend, they decided to have a reunion over one of the biggest movies of the 2000s 'GirlsCot' and they all showed up looking gorgeous. Ini Edo remains one of the sexiest actresses Nollywood has ever had. Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde in one photo! We didn't see that coming.

Rita Dominic doesn't need to put in any effort as her class and style always speak volume for her. Uche Jombo apparently one of the reasons this photo is going to be trending for a while still has that infectious smile and as for Stephanie Linus, our favourite beauty queen still looks flawless as always.
