Davido wants Ruggedman and Naira Marley to stop fighting, he asked for peace
The issue of "Internet Fraud" had been stressed lately too much and two porpular Nigerian singers find themselves too involved in the issue as it's almost causing a fight.

Davido has called on veteran rapper and activist, Ruggedman and upcoming act, Naira Marley to sheath their swords as they have been on each other's throat over Naira Marley's endorsement of internet fraud while Ruggedman condemned him on his stance.

The star took to Instagram in a series of videos to tell the duo to end their feud.

Davido begged Naira Marley and Ruggedman to make peace over their different stands on yahoo boys, which has now turned into a major beef.

Davido says to the embittered rappers to let love lead.

If you recall, the problem started when Naira Marley openly defended "yahoo" internet fraud by revealing it was a payback for slave trade.

Rugged man then called him out in an interview while condemning fraud.

Naira Marley then recorded a video slamming Ruggedman and saying his time has expired.

Stephanie Otobo advices Actress, Tonto Dikeh not to tell her Son his father is good

Stephanie Otobo advices Actress, Tonto Dikeh not to tell her Son his father is good
Stephanie reacting to the ongoing marriage controversy sparked by Tonto Dikeh in her YouTube video, said the Nollywood actress should not tell her son that his father is good when he is not.

This came after Daddy Freeze stated that the actress' son will not be affected negatively by the interview she granted him.
Tonto Dikeh

The Cool FM OAP had written;

Brand new video alert, since we have embraced modernization, we have stop cherry picking and embrace all that comes with it. Those saying her son will be affected by her speaking out are only clowning around, afraid to let go, despite the world's visible evolution.

They are, as a result of a flawed moral compass, creating forlornly, a deluded make believe world, as an odd in between compromise, between their reality and their delusions. In the actuality of the new world we are all creating, she'll be a hero, so deal with it! ~FRZ

The post from Freeze made Stephanie Otobo to react by stating that Tonto Dikeh need not conform to the earned mentality of Africans.

"Tonto should never conform to the warped African mentality of making children believe a parent is good when they are actually not. Bare the truth please."

See Governor Ganduje's Plans To Oust Sanusi, Emir Of Kano

Posted: 08 May 2019 04:01 PM PDT

Emir of Kano, Sanusi II

The Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje has reportedly concluded plans to forcefully dethrone the Emir of Kano, Sanusi II over his refusal to help the incumbent governor rig in the just concluded gubernatorial elections in the state SaharaReporters reports.

A very credible source familiar with the situation told Saharareporters "it is true, plans are in top gear. The governor felt Sanusi's call for free and fair elections in the state was an affront on his plans to return to office and that it means he was backing former governor Rabiu Kwankwaso".

"The first plan is that they now want to probe how he (Sanusi II) is spending emirate funds as they did before" the source revealed.

In consonance to what our source revealed, on the May 7th, 2019, the Kano state Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission opened a fresh probe on the alleged financial mismanagement in Kano Emirate Council under the watch of Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.

The commission invited two of the Emirs uncles and brothers to appear before it on Thursday; they are to answer questions on what they know over alleged financial scandal rocking the Kano Emirate Council.

The source further told SaharaReporters, the second step is to "pick up the account details and then give it to the media to embarrass Sanusi and use that as a basis to dethrone him".

The third step, "is to create new emirate councils that will serve as a bulwark against the Emir".

The Kano State House of Assembly on Monday initiated a move to create four additional Emirate Councils in the State that would elevate the current status of some District Heads to First Class Emirs.

This move according to our source is to mobilize elements within the emirate loyal to Governor Ganduje to present a united front in ousting the Emir.

Governor Ganduje's re-election was marred by electoral violence allegedly sponsored by the governor.

Men armed with machetes, knives and cudgels took over polling stations, assaulting observers and journalists in Kano, northwest Nigeria.

It was this act that Emir Sanusi reportedly condemned which earned him the enmity of the governor.

Governor Ganduje is also enmeshed in a huge bribery scandal which has cast a question on his integrity and the anti-corruption agenda of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

On October 15, 2018, a video of Gov.  Ganduje receiving a kickback from contractors surfaced.

Shortly after, the Kano State Government revoked three contracts awarded to Tiamin Multi Services Ltd, a company belonging to Aminu Mohammed.

Mr. Mohammed is believed to be the contractor behind the videos showing the state governor Ganduje receiving kickbacks in US dollars from one of the contractors. The three projects were worth N1.6 billion.

President Buhari's reacting to the clip while responding to question in the build-up to the 2019 general elections said: "That clip, somebody brought it to me of how the Kano Governor was receiving dollars and smiling and putting it in his pocket.

"I don't know the extent of technology used and I can't answer now because the state assembly has gone to court I decided not to talk about it, and the state assembly constitutionally could have dealt with that but then I heard the matter was taken to court," Buhari said.

South Africa: Still Struggling, 25 Years After Apartheid

Posted: 08 May 2019 12:11 PM PDT

Twenty-five years after the end of white-minority rule, South Africa remains one of the most unequal countries in the world and is held back by corruption and crime.

Ahead of May 8 elections in which the African National Congress (ANC) is seeking to retain power, here is some background:

Decades of Apartheid
The radical race-based system of apartheid that favored the white minority over the black majority became official government policy in 1948.

It governed all aspects of life, restricting non-whites to unskilled jobs and inferior education, services and living conditions.

Whites controlled politics, the economy, and the land.

The system was dismantled nearly five decades later, after a long and bitter struggle, its demise sealed by the April 1994 elections in which blacks were able to vote for the first time.

Mandela
Then ANC leader Nelson Mandela, who was jailed for 27 years for his efforts to overthrow apartheid, became South Africa's first black president in 1994.

His release in 1990 heralded the transition to democracy for which he won the Nobel Peace Prize with the last white president, F.W. de Klerk.

Mandela committed to only one term, stepping down in 1999. Internationally respected as an icon of reconciliation, his death in 2013 was met with an outpouring of emotion worldwide.

Later, in-fighting and graft scandals within the ANC peaked in 2018 when Jacob Zuma was forced to step down as president.

'Rainbow Nation' Tarnished
The optimism of the post-apartheid "Rainbow Nation" has waned amid widespread complaints of weak governance, poor delivery of public services, corruption, and crime.

The number of regular houses, as opposed to makeshift shacks, increased by a quarter since 1996, as did access to electricity (61 percent), according to a Centre for Risk Analysis survey in 2019.

But some 20 percent of black households are classed as living in extreme poverty compared to 2.9 percent of white households, the Institute of Race Relations says.

With a population of 56.7 million (2017), the country still has "one of the highest inequality rates in the world," the World Bank says.

Most of South Africa's arable land, meanwhile, remains in the hands of white farmers.

Economic Woes
The second-strongest economy in Africa behind Nigeria, South Africa is the world's top producer of platinum and a leading supplier of gold, diamonds, and other minerals.

However, mining has shed about 300,000 jobs, now only making up about seven percent of gross domestic product from a peak of about 20 percent in the 1980s.

Having seen sharp gains from 1994 to 2006 with annual growth above five percent, the economy crashed in 2008 at the height of the global financial crisis.

Growth was just 0.8 percent in 2018 and is projected to be 1.3 percent for 2019, the World Bank says.

Official unemployment is at 27.1 percent, reaching 53 percent for people aged under 35 – among the highest in the world.

Sunny SA

With unspoiled beaches, vineyards and animal reserves, the country was the continent's leading tourist destination behind Morocco in 2017, according to the U.N.'s tourism authority.

There were more than 10 million visitors in 2017, and the sector contributed 10 percent to the economy.

The country hosted Africa's first World Cup in 2006 and is also the sole nation on the continent to allow gay marriage.

But crime remains persistently high, the murder rate rising in 2017 to about 57 a day.

South Africa also has the biggest HIV/AIDS epidemic in the world, with 7.1 million people living with HIV, the U.N. says.

British Soldier Killed By Elephant During Anti-Poaching Operations

Posted: 08 May 2019 11:39 AM PDT

A British soldier, 22, has been reportedly killed by an elephant during anti-poaching operations in Africa.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) confirmed that Guardsman Mathew Talbot had been killed during anti-poaching operations on May 5 in Malawi.

According to various news sources, including The Associated Press and the official armed forces media, Talbot was killed by an elephant. He was part of a group of around 30 soldiers deployed to the African country to train rangers tasked with stemming the flow of the lucrative ivory trade.

Defense Secretary Penny Mordaunt said, "This tragic incident is a reminder of the danger our military faces as they protect some of the world's most endangered species from those who seek to profit from the criminal slaughter of wildlife."

There currently aren't any details on how Talbot came to be killed.

A Frank Sinatra fan and an avid reader of military history, Talbot was often to be found befriending the locals and learning their language during his posting in Malawi, according to the Ministry of Defense.

"Mathew was a unique character and genuine guy," said Lance Sergeant Louis Bolton, in the MoD statement. "Loved and trusted by all who cared for him. I can honestly say that no matter the time of day or situation he was in, he was always laughing and cracking jokes—we loved him for it."

The British army has been in Malawi since 2016, passing on military skills to rangers who have to hunt gangs of poachers—who are often ex-military.

"Asking rangers wearing flip flops, carrying field kit in shopping bags and bearing rifles they may never have fired, to apprehend ex-military poaching gangs is a tall order," Captain Luke Townsend, a specialist in counter-poaching, told The Telegraph. "Which is why the efforts of British troops in shouldering this burden are massively appreciated."

The elephant population in Malawi plummeted by 71 percent from 2002 to 2006, according to Lilongwe Wildlife Trust in Malawi.

According to the trust, the number of elephants killed in Africa has doubled over the last decade, and the amount of ivory seized has tripled.

A single dead elephant's tusks are estimated to have a raw value of $21,000 but, in comparison, the estimated tourism value of a single living elephant is more than $1.6 million over its lifetime to travel companies, airlines, and local economies.

In Botswana, which is home to around one-third of Africa's elephants, the government recently proposed lifting a ban on elephant hunting, stirring the ire of some animal rights groups and conservationists.

According to some conservationists and hunters, such as prolific hunter Ron Thompson, the 130,000-strong elephant population is too high, resulting in the destruction of the environment for other animals.

For example, says Thompson, in allowing the elephants to wreck their habitat, much of the elephants' feeding grounds have been destroyed. That means daily long walks between the waterhole and the feeding grounds. Once that distance goes beyond 15 miles, the mothers can no longer lactate, resulting in growing numbers of baby elephants seen abandoned and dying.

$45bn Needed By Nigeria Govt To Fix Transportation Infrastructure - Amaechi

Posted: 08 May 2019 10:37 AM PDT

Mr. Rotimi Amaechi

Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria's Minister of Transportation,  has said the federal government requires $45 billion to fix the infrastructure of the country's transportation sector, adding that rail infrastructure is a capital intensive sector.

Explaining the amount spent so far on rail infrastructure in the country during an interview on Channels Television breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily yesterday, the minister revealed that this figure would be needed to solve the country's "problem of transportation to a great extent."

The Minister said the sector is capital-intensive, adding that huge funds would be needed to construct more railroads and acquire coaches.

Amaechi said: "It is capital intensive. N1trillion is about $2.7 billion and that is just about 200 kilometres of the railway. So, if you plan to do Lagos-Ibadan and you are looking at about $8.7 billion - this will be between N3 trillion and N4 trillion. How much is the budget of the country?

"That is why I said we need about $35 to $45 billion to be able to do Lagos-Kano, Port Harcourt-Maiduguri, Lagos-Calabar, and Abuja-Warri. Once you do these four tracks, you have covered the country, and you have solved the problem of transportation to a great extent."

He also gave a breakdown of the expenses incurred so far on rail construction most especially the Lagos-Ibadan railroad.

READ ALSO: We Increased Train Fare Because Rich People Use It More Than The Poor -Rotimi Amaechi

According to him, the federal government is making efforts to acquire coaches and locomotives for the Lagos-Ibadan railroad.

He said: "Lagos-Ibadan Railroad will cost about $1.6 billion. This does not include the extra cost of things we did not prepare for. The Kaduna-Abuja construction will cost about $1billion.

"We have paid about $500 million to buy locomotives for Lagos-Ibadan. So that's what we've so far spent."

Speaking on his political fight with the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike, the minister said he is not at war with the Rivers State governor.

He said he is only inconvenient with the level of insecurity in the state.

"There is no war going on between Wike and me. It is like my friend Akpabio, when we met the other day, I said we are not quarreling.

"What is going on between Wike and me is the fact that he wants to run a second term. The fact is that he ran the first term in which people were killed. Today, he is accusing the army and not the police because they refused to take bribe from him."

The former governor said during his administration as the state governor, he investigated and ensured the arrest of the perpetrators of crime.

'Don’t Compare Us To Terrorists, We Don't Kill' Afenifere, Ohanaeze Reacts To Garba Shehu's Statement

Posted: 08 May 2019 09:55 AM PDT

Socio-cultural Groups, the Afenifere and the Ohaneze Ndigbo have asked Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Shehu Garba, not to liken them to Miyetti Allah.

The two groups stated that Miyetti Allah is a killer group and have been engaging in kidnapping and killing people, acts they do not commit.

Recall that, Shehu in a television interview with Channels TV on Tuesday asked Nigerians not to see Miyetti Allah as bandits but as socio-cultural group like Afenifere and Ohaneze Ndigbo, Sahara Reporters reports.

"It is a mistake to say the Nigerian government is talking to bandits. The Miyetti Allah group is like the Ohanaeze and Afenifere. It is a socio-cultural group. There are criminals within the Yoruba race and you cannot say because of that Afenifere is a group of criminals," Shehu said.

Ohanaeze Reacts:

In a swift response to the comments, the Ohaneze while speaking to the newsmen vehemently disagreed with Shehu stating that the only recognizable socio-cultural group in the North it can relate with is the Arewa Consultative Forum.

Speaking for the group, Uche Achi-Okpaga, spokesperson of Ohaneze, said there is no justification to compare the Ohaneze with a group of criminals.

He said, "There is no justification for such a comparison. It is a bad comparison.

"Ohanaeze is a regional body that is promoting the unity of the Igbo; so also is Afenifere to the Yoruba and the ACF to northerners. We also have the Middle Belt Forum in the North-Central and PANDEF for the South-South.

"You can never put Ohanaeze and Miyetti Allah on the same pedestal. These people are invading villages, killing people, and you are telling us that they are on the same page with Ohanaeze. There is no justification for that.

"This is an organisation that the Global Terrorist Index has described as the world's fourth deadly terrorist organisation.

"These people are just negotiating with criminals. We are in a state of lawlessness."

Afenifere's Stance:

In a related response, the spokesperson of the Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, also disagreed with the Presidency while saying that the group does not abduct and kill people as the Miyetti Allah does.

He branded the comparison as "most unfair and very unfortunate."

Odumakin said, "We are surprised that the spokesperson (Shehu) was talking like someone under the influence of drugs. In Afenifere, we don't kill, we don't abduct people."

It's Needless Political Witch-Hunt For EFCC To Investigate Me — Saraki

Posted: 08 May 2019 08:30 AM PDT

 Dr. Bukola Saraki

Dr. Bukola Saraki, the Senate President, has described as needless and politically motivated, the recent attempt by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe into his days as the Governor of Kwara State between 2003 and 2011.

The Senate President  said he had been subjected to investigation prior to this time and nothing was found on him

According to media reports, the anti graft agency had written a letter to the Kwara State Government demanding a breakdown of Saraki's income, as well as his entitlements as governor of the state.

But Saraki, in a statement on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, said the Senate President had been investigated until his last day as the governor of the state and this amounts to a witch-hunt, Daily Post reports.

It reads: "We will first make clarifications to put a lie to some of the claims made by the EFCC in the statement issued yesterday. The EFCC claimed that "the commission's letter to the Kwara State Government House, which sought an inquest into Saraki's earnings as the state Governor, from 2003 to 2011 was dated Friday, April 26, 2019, predating his announcement as IHRC ambassador at large which came on Sunday, April 28, 2019 with two clear days". It should be noted that the IHRC letter informing the Senate President of his appointment is dated March 16, 2019, that is about 40 days before the EFCC wrote its letter conveying the investigations to Kwara State Government House. In fact, the media team of the Senate President held on to the announcement of the appointment for several weeks so that we could do due diligence on it.

"At this point, we need to remind members of the public that Dr. Saraki's tenure as Kwara State Governor has been investigated several times since his last months in Office in 2010 till date. In fact, at a point, as incumbent Governor, he voluntarily waived his immunity and submitted to investigation and yet nothing was found against him. Also, members of the public should be reminded that during the proceedings of his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) between 2015 and 2018, it became clear that the evidence relied upon was from investigations conducted by the EFCC on his tenure as Governor and that is why the lead witness for the prosecution was an EFCC agent, Michael Wetkas. Yet, the CCT in its judgement dismissed the 16 charges filed against Dr. Saraki and that verdict was upheld by the highest court of the land, the Supreme Court.

READ ALSO:  INEC Job Is Too Tempting... I Was Offered Money To Rig Elections, Kwara REC Reveals

"This new investigation into his activities as Governor of Kwara State is a repeat performance. The EFCC is fishing for evidence that they did not get in the past investigations which has spanned almost nine years. However, we need to remind the Commission that Dr. Saraki is not an outgoing Governor. Since 2011, tens of governors have been in and out of our various State Houses. Like wise, hundreds of Senators and Representatives have been in and out of the National Assembly. To single out one individual for persistent investigation can only be logically and plausibly interpreted to be a witch-hunt. This is definitely no fight against corruption. It is a battle waged against a 'political enemy'. It is a 'label to damage' plot.

"Not satisfied with the reports submitted by its various teams which worked on the Saraki case in Ilorin and Lagos, the EFCC constituted a fresh team to investigate the Office of the Senate President and despatched another letter late last week to the Clerk of the Senate signed by Mohammed Umar Abba, Director of Operations, in which it requested for the following: "the Certified True Copies of the following: i) All Cash Books, Payment Vouchers, Contract Award Letters, Evidence of Contract Bidding, Agreement and Certificate of Contract Completion from 2015 to date. ii) Certified True Copies of all Financial Retirement made within the same period. iii) Any other information that may assist the Commission in its investigation".

"We observed that this type of letter was only written to the Office of the Senate President and not to both chambers of the National Assembly. Also, it is the first time such a letter is written to the office of the Senate President at the twilight of the tenure of the National Assembly indicating hostile investigation along these lines. None of his predecessors got such 'exclusive' treatment in which their office was investigated by state officials seeking to nail them at all cost. What EFCC does not know is that all the issues they are seeking to probe in the office of the Senate President are handled by the National Assembly Management, that is the bureaucracy of the federal legislature. The Senate President has nothing to do with such issues. However, in the eagerness and desperation to nail Dr. Saraki, they ignored even the basic facts upon which the entire investigation rests.

"Some people who have called Dr. Saraki about the EFCC statement have wondered whether this is the Commission's way of settling scores by blaming the non-confirmation of its acting chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, on the leadership of the Senate. For those who reason in this direction, our response has always been that the decision not to clear Magu was not a personal issue between both men. It was an institutional decision which was taken on a day that the public freely follows the proceedings through live coverage on television. This was done to avoid accusations that some people seized the process to deliberately deny Mr. Magu fair hearing.

"Let it be known that the usual claim by the EFCC that its actions were directed against corrupt elements does not apply to Dr. Saraki because he is a man who at every point in his public service life has sought to institute transparency and accountability in governance. Dr. Saraki has always worked to promote transparency in governance in all the places he had held public office. For example, as Governor of Kwara State, he waived his immunity to enable his regime be probed and introduced the Price Intelligence Unit, the first by any state. This unit reduced leakages in government revenues. The idea was later adopted by the Federal Government as it became Bureau of Public Procurement(BPP).

"Kwara State under his governorship was the first state to be rated by Fitch, the global rating agency which affirmed its National Long term rating at AA-(minus) and ratings of B+ in public finance transparency. In 2006, the EFCC under Mallam Nuhu Ribadu in a report presented before the Senate gave Kwara State under his tenure a clean bill of health, alongside five other states. At the end of his tenure in 2011, the anti- corruption agency did not find any reason to invite him for any questioning. It was more than a year after he left office when he moved the controversial motion calling for investigation into fuel subsidy that the EFCC first invited him for investigation and nothing came out of that effort. Again, Dr. Saraki in his first term in the Senate was the one who through a motion on the floor exposed the biggest fraud in the country then. That is the oil subsidy scam. Such a person can definitely not be said to be a corrupt element.

"There is need to once again put it on record that the Eighth Senate led by Dr. Saraki has played key roles in institutionalizing the fight against corruption, which is the national objective for setting up the EFCC and other anti-corruption agencies. Among the bills passed to facilitate the fight against corruption include the National Financial Intelligence Agency Act, which, in-line with international best practices, created an autonomous Financial Intelligence Unit in the country that would allow Nigeria to have access to information relating to financial investigations in the 152 member countries of the EGMONT Group. The Senate got commendation from the Financial Intelligence Database Agency (ultrascan) for passing the NFIA Act and enabled the nation to be readmitted into the Egmont Group. In fact, the latest directive by the NFIA preventing Governors from accessing local government funds and banning banks from allowing transactions from State Joint Local Government Account without monies first reaching the accounts of the particular local government is also a derivative of the NFIA law passed by the Eighth National Assembly.

"Another one is the Proceeds of Crime Bill which now pave the way for the country to become full member of the Financial Task Force (FATF). South Africa was the only African country on the task force before now. The Senate also passed the Federal Audit Services Commission Bill, which is aimed at empowering the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation to ensure that MDAs comply with the Fiscal Responsibility Act in the management of public funds and in the timely submission of their audited accounts for scrutiny. The bill came out of the oversight by the Senate in which it uncovered the fact that over 300 MDAs have not submitted their reports to the office of the Auditor-General in the past years. These are definitely not the acts that a corrupt element will prefer.

"Other anti-corruption bills passed by the Eighth Senate include the Whistleblowers Protection Bill, which seeks to ensure that individuals that are in danger of reprisals in relation to whistleblower activities are protected under the law; Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act which sought to among other things identify, trace, freeze, restrain, recover, forfeit and confiscate proceeds, property and other instrumentalities of crime; Witness Protection Bill, which is geared at encouraging witnesses of crimes, especially organized crimes, terrorism or other crimes to come forward and assist government and its agencies by offering protection to witnesses willing to provide information, and evidence for the purpose of ensuring proper investigation.

"These are more fundamental issues that can make permanent the anti-corruption war and remove it from the realm of whimsical pursuits. All these are legislative measures taken by the Eighth Senate led by Dr. Saraki to make the EFCC and other anti-corruption agencies more efficient, and generally, in aid of the fight against corruption.

"It is to the credit of the Senate President and his colleagues in the Eighth National Assembly that there has not been any case of bribery scandal or misappropriation in the procurement process. Dr. Saraki promised more transparency on his inauguration as Senate President and the Eighth National Assembly has promoted transparency tenets in which the full details of its budget are now available for public scrutiny. The engagement of the Eighth Senate with the public in the process of conception, drafting and passage of bills are unprecedented.

"Dr. Saraki led a Senate where the leadership do not get involved in contract awards. It has initiated public hearing as part of the process for annual appropriations bill passage and has helped to make the legislative institution more responsive to the yearnings of the ordinary people.

"While we do not wish to obstruct the EFCC in the performance of its tasks, we reiterate our position that the Commission should be professional, ethical, transparent and consistent. It cannot be deemed professional when the agency is not consistent in the application of its rules and the laws to all cases and individuals. The recent onslaught against the Senate President by the anti-graft Agency is definitely a case of different laws for different folks."

NLC On Rampage, Puts Minister Ngige's Residence Under Siege

Posted: 08 May 2019 07:42 AM PDT

 Dr. Chris Ngige

Dr. Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour, said that his house at Asokoro in Abuja had been under siege by a group of people, including tanker drivers.

Ngige who spoke to THISDAY this morning on telephone from his house said that as early as 4 a.m some persons, including two tankers arrived his residence led by the NLC president, Ayuba Wabba and blocked his gate.

Ngige said:" Wabba led tanker drivers this morning to block my private residence by 4a.m.," he said.

When THISDAY got to the house, NLC members could be seen in front of the Minister's gate chanting solidarity songs and demanding his resignation.
Also two heavy duty trucks were parked in front of the gate.

Both the minister and the NLC leadership have been engaged in a running battle over the non inauguration of the board of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) with a veteran labour activist, Frank Kokori, as its chairman.

While the ministry said that federal government had approved the replacement of Kokori with another person to ensure neutrality, NLC president and other affiliate unions insisted that it must be Kokori or nothing.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Wabba threatened to picket all Ngige interests beginning from today.

Wabba was not at the place when THISDAY got there.

When THISDAY sought to speak with the protesting NLC members, one of their leaders said they were waiting for Wabba and others to join them.

Later the General Secretary, Peter Essom, arrived the scene and addressed the protesters, urging them to continue with the protest and that a reinforcement led by Wabba was on the way.

He said that the protest was being carried out because of the refusal of the Minister to inaugurate the NSITF board and to allow Kokori to chair it.

According to him, in the history of the NSITF the representative of labour had always chaired it, adding the case of Kokori will not be different.

The siege is still on just as security personnel continue to keep watch close by.

More details will follow later…

LOOM: A New Ponzi Scheme Similar to MMM, Be Warned!

LOOM: A New Ponzi Scheme Similar to MMM, Be Warned!
Loom, A similar ponzi scheme to MMM; which left Nigerian in bad memories of its bitter experience, is making wave among many Nigerians on social media.

According to Daily Mail, 'the scheme has surfaced online all over the world, with names such as 'loom circle', 'fractal mandala' and 'blessing loom'.

36ng reports that several Nigerians are taking chances with the new Ponzi scheme Loom for more participation, especially on WhatsApp.

How It Works

The scheme which was first reported in the UK, then by an Australian media, ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) as a scam after it had gone viral in Australia, commenced in Nigeria recently.

The first step of the process is being invited to join a WhatsApp group chat, usually by a friend or relative. Then you are asked to 'invest' N1,000, N2,000 or N13,000 with a promise that you will make eight times the amount back once you recruit new entrants.

After you have paid in the money, you are asked to invite at least one person to join the system.

There are four levels in Loom Nigeria – Purple, Blue, Orange and Red.

Each time eight people join the loom, the person in the centre (Red) will get the target amount and leave the group.

The loom will then split into two groups. The top half and the bottom half become the new looms and everyone moves into the next level (Purple Level – into Blue Level – Into Orange Level) and the cycle begins again.

The more people you manage to add to the circle, the quicker the movement of it, and thus, the easier it will be for you to make your chunk of 'easy money'.

The basics are that you get eight times the amount you "invest." If you invest N1,000, you get N8,000; if you invest N2,000, you get N16,000; and if you invest N13,000 you will get N104,000

Mixed Reactions

"I joined the group on Saturday and I cashed out N16,000 on Sunday, Loom is real," said Rose, a phone outlet attendant.

She said she is presently investing for a friend of hers. Once she cashes that out, she will do another round for herself again.

Another benefactor, Gbenga Ojo, said he joined the group on Saturday with N1000 and cashed N8000 out that same Saturday.

"I have presently invested N2000 in three different groups hoping to cash out soon,

"Even if it crashes like MMM, I know I did not lose anything, "he said.

While some Nigerians are being sceptical of joining the money doubling train, some are sure they will not because of their past experience with various Ponzi like MMM, Twinkas, Charity, Zar Fund, Ultimate Cycler, Get Help Fund amongst others.

Mrs Odunayo, a government school teacher, said: "even though I didn't lose more than one thousand in MMM, I don't think I can do any other Ponzi."

She said even if she would do, she would not invest more than a thousand Naira

Meanwhile, Felicia Happy, a police officer, said she can never invest her hard earned money in any Ponzi scheme.

" I cannot invest in any of these Ponzi. Even when MMM was thriving, I did not think it twice, because I believe the day I put my money that is the day it will crash."

Atiku Vs Buhari: Peter Obi Reportedly Storms Tribunal As Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa Heads Panel

Posted: 08 May 2019 06:58 AM PDT

Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar

A five-man panel of Justices headed by President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, have commenced hearing on petitions seeking to invalidate President Muhammadu Buhari's re-election.

Other members of the panel are Justices Abdul Aboki, Samuel Oseji, Joseph Ikyeghn and Peter Olabisi Ige.

The panel which is conducting its proceeding at the Court of Appeal Headquarters in Abuja, will determine merit of four separate petitions that are challenging the declaration of President Buhari as the legitimate winner of the February 23 presidential election, Vanguard reports.

In her inaugural speech, the Appeal Court President sought cooperation of all the parties, even as she urged all the lawyers to conduct themselves with decorum and high sense of responsibility so as to help the court to arrive at the justice of the case.

Justice Bulkachuwa maintained that all the parties would be accorded equal treatment by the tribunal which she said would sit on day-to-day basis.

However, the tribunal Chairman warned parties to desist from discussing the matter in the media, saying the case should be treated as a low profile matter that does not deserve analysis in public spaces

She said the court would be guided by the constitution and international best practices to ensure that justice is done.

Aside the petition marked CA/PEPC/002/2019, which was entered against Buhari by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Atiku, on March 18, the second petition marked CA/ PEPC/001/2019, was by the presidential candidate of the Hope Democratic Party, HDP, Chief Ambrose Owuru who secured a total of 1,663 in the election.

While the third petition, CA/PEPC/004/2019, was lodged by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM, Pastor Aminchi Habu, who is seeking a fresh election on the basis that his party's logo was not included in the ballot paper.

The last petition with suit No. CA/PEPC/003/2019, was filed by the Coalition For Change, C4C and its presidential candidate, Geff Chizee Ojinka, who are contending that Buhari's re-election was vitiated by substantial noncompliance with mandatory statutory provisions.

The petitioners maintained that the irregularity substantially affected the election, "such that the 1st Respondent was not entitled to be returned as the Winner of the Presidential election".

Remarkably, unlike in all the other petitions where only Buhari, the APC and INEC were cited as Respondents, the C4C, which garnered a total of 2,391 votes at the presidential poll, cited the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, as the 2nd Respondent in its case.

Meantime, the Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, Mr. Peter Obi is in court to witness the proceeding

Naira Marley insults Ruggedman for calling him a fraudster upcoming artiste

Naira Marley insults Ruggedman for calling him a fraudster upcoming artiste
Naira Marley blatantly disrespects veteran rapper Ruggedman for coming at him  yet again over comments he made about internet fraud a few weeks ago.

Ruggedman has insulted Naira Marley in a recent interview saying the fact that the government is unable to provide the basic amenities and infrastructure for its citizens doesn't give anyone the right to get involved in Internet fraud.

"For a young upcoming artist like him, he shouldn't be doing stuff like that. You don't just come out and start celebrating fraud. Especially something, nothing not just in Nigeria but the whole world is frowning upon. You don't want to know how they look at Nigerians abroad because of fraud. Does two wrongs make a right? Because the government is making us lack in things like jobs and all, you now want to start stealing and killing and robbing and you'd say it is because the government is not providing you with some certain things. Everybody in the London, in the American, in the Dublin, we are not supporting that boy o, he is a fraudster on his own. We are hardworking Nigerians," he said.

Naira Marley in response advised Ruggedman to stop mentioning his name. He insulted Ruggedman's dead career as well.

For Detaining Edo Chief Priest, Nigeria Police Receives List Of Animals To Be Sacrificed For Cleansing

Posted: 08 May 2019 05:37 AM PDT

Police

Osarodion Usuanlele, the Ohen N' Ukoni Neyedo, the Chief Priest of Okhuaihe shrine, has been arrested and detained at the Edo State Police Command in Benin City, The Nation reports.

Following the priest's detention, it was said that, an age-long tradition which says the Ohen N' UKoni does not enter Benin, the abode of the Oba, had been desecrated.

Because of this, three dogs slaughtered as sacrifices were carried out near the police headquarters before the chief priest was released.

In addition to that, a list of other items reportedly to be used for sacrifices has also been given to the police for cleansing the land.

The items in the list, include 14 native cows, tortoise, sheep, goats, cocks, among others.

It was also gathered that the tradition was started in the 15th century by Oba Ewuare the great.

The chief priest's shrine is located at Evbiekoi, in Uhunwode Local Government Area, and as part of coronation rites, he would have a symbolic wrestle with the Crown Prince. Both of them would go opposite ways, never to see each other again, once the Crown Prince becomes the Oba.

Trouble started last week when operatives of the anti-cultism unit stormed Evbiekoi community following on a petition by John Elvis (aka Atekha), an ex-official of the banned Community Development Association (CDA).

Briefing reporters on the incident, Secretary of Evbiekoi community, Chief Paul Ajayi said: "The policemen shot sporadically and insisted on taking Chief Priest Usunalele to Benin City, despite pleas that the man does not enter Benin or he would die.

"A strange and mysterious downpour, accompanied by violent wind, thunder and lightning, were part of the signs of desecration.

"The Oba got the signs of desecration and presence of Ohen N' UKoni, and sent emissaries to the Police Commissioner, Danmallam Abubakar, after confirming that the Chief Priest was in Benin."

Meanwhile, the Police Commissioner, Dan has ordered policemen involved in the arrest of Ohen N' Ukoni to be detained to allay rising tensions in Benin as various youth groups are reportedly preparing to cause mayhem over the alleged desecration of the Benin culture.

However, Chidi Nwabuzor, the State Police spokesman, declined speaking on the matter, stating that he was waiting for the Commissioner of Police to address a news conference before making comments.

'Nkan Be' is a break up song, Lil Kesh teases

'Nkan Be' is a break up song, Lil Kesh teases
After a slightly dry 2017, the singer formerly signed to Olamide's YBNL, Lil Kesh had a strong run in the second half of 2018. He featured on the mega-hit hustlers' anthem, 'Able God' and delivered an impressive nigh vulgar verse on Zlatan's 'Jogor.'

On a more controversial level, he crafted the infamous 'Logo Benz' that unfortunately draws inferences between wealth obtained through fetish means, internet fraud and the 'pant stealing' pandemic of final quarter 2018.

Now, he has teased the an unreleased collaboration with Mayorkun titled, 'Nkan Be' and it feels like it could seriously pop. In fact, his fellow artists such as Mr. Eazi and Zlatan have urged him to drop the song.

'Nkan Be' is a pon pon post-break up song.

Company mistakenly paid a Lady and she wants to return the money
A Nigerian lady identified as Chinwendu Ogbonna, has returned money mistakenly paid into her account by a company she didn't work for.

The revealed she applied to work with the company and did the necessary documentation but ended up not taking the job. However, at the end of the month, when other staff of the company were being paid, her account was also credited.

Seeing that she didn't work for the money, Chinwendu decided to pay back the money to the company even though they hadn't called her back to ask for it.

Sharing a screenshot of her statement of account, she wrote:

I WAS PAID SALARY FOR A JOB I DID NOT DO AND I'M RETURNING IT. I have been in lagos for some months in search for job, I have applied for jobs and still applying for jobs, gone for interviews and then in April I got a job as a telesales representative with a Fintech #Opay Nigeria through an outsourcing firm #HR INDEXX. I already filled in some of my details in which my account details was part of but for some reasons I couldn't take the job offer.

People who took the job offer are 1month on the job and were paid salary for the first month yesterday, I also got a credit alert meaning I was paid by the outsourcing firm for a job I did not do.

I have waited for the transaction to be reversed or to get a call from HR INDEXX but none seems to be coming forth. Therefore am going to the outsourcing firm today to return the money and to let them correct their payroll.

NO, I haven't gotten a job yet, am still unemployed and searching. NO, I didn't get salary from any source in the last month which means I need money but my desperation for a source of income will not rule out the conscious need to keep my integrity for the long run.

Yes I am a Nigerian.
Yes I am an Igbo girl
Yes Nigerians still up hold integrity.
PS: kindly share, this might be a source of inspiration to someone out there.

HOW NOT TO BE A 40 SECONDS MAN.

Ladies deserves to enjoy the sex too. Look Her Deep Into Her Eyes, While Holding Her Waist.. Give Her A Wet Deep Kiss Then Whisper To Her ears "baby You're So Beautiful". Grab Her Ass While Kissing Her And Again Whisper "I Love You Honey". Go On And Start Romancing Her, Hold Her Boobs, Caress Them Softly,.. I Repeat Softly.

Then Start Sucking Her Np**ples gently Till They Are Erect. You'll see, She's Gonna Start Breathing Heavily.. Then Kiss Her Neck, Caress Her From Head To Toe, .. Compliment Her, Tell Her How Much You Love Her Body. Now Go Down And Slowly Remove Her Panties, Allow Her To Lie On Bed As You Spread Her Legs.

Now Start sucking Her vagina, but to some people that's disgusting, instead of that, use your middle finger and dip it gently in and out of the v*gina.. But If the vagina looks dry, Don't Even Go There.. Focus On The Clits, suck it or use your finger on the clits gently, do It So Well Until She starts Moaning,

This Point she wants you, you Don't RUSH!!
Now Pull Out the P*NIS, Then Pass It Around Her Body, Touch Her Neck, Her Boobs, Her Stomach Then Finally Touch Her Thighs with your P*NIS .
Slowly, I repeat Slowly Insert the tip Of Your PENIS Into Her VAGINA, Then Pull It Out And Rub It On Her Clit Which Will Force Her To Bring Out Juices, she'll be Wet like and soft and her pussy at this stage is very ready to accommodate any kind of dick without any single pain, just the full pleasure.

Now Insert The P*NIS Again, Then Start By having sex Slowly, As You Make Eye Contact With Her, You Can Hold Her Boobs And Kiss Her As Well.. Tell Her How Sweet Her v*gina makes you feel , Tell Her How You Love It..
Now You Can Spread Her Legs, And start having sex with her fast until she scream your name.
Man.. If You have sex with Her Like This, She Will Remember You For The Rest of Her Life..

DMW Mayorkun blast Burna Boy over streaming numbers
Mayorkun has fired back at Burna Boy over a post he made about streaming numbers which appeared as a shade.

Burna Boy took to Instastories this morning where he stated that streaming numbers doesn't mean an artiste is talented.

He stated that if viral joke songs like 'Baby Shark' and 'Gangnam style' could have amazing streaming numbers, then no one should get overly excited about the millions of views they get on the internet.

His statement was seen as a reaction to Mayorkun's post some few days back in which he celebrated attaining 70million streams across different platforms.

Reacting to Burna Boy's post, Mayorkun reminded him that he also got into limelight via streaming when his song titled Ye was mistaken by many fans as a song belonging to Kanye West who's also known as Ye.

He Tweeted;

Imagine blasting me on top streams when e be sey na because if Kanye West na him Ye take blow. It's all love down here still #DMW
