Early Summer Fulbright Info Session

ATTENTION undergrads, grad students, and recent bachelor's/master's graduates: Are you interested in pursuing prestigious international study/research or English teaching opportunities. Learn about the Fulbright Fellowship Program, the nation's largest and most prestigious global fellowship program!

Fulbright awards provide recent bachelor's and master's graduates, and current master's and PhD students with opportunities for international experience, personal enrichment and an open exchange of ideas with citizens of other nations. About 2000 Fulbright fully-funded grants are currently available to over 150 nations.

The National Scholarships Office at the University of Maryland is hosting an information session on Fulbright study/research and teaching opportunities – please RSVP to fulbright@umd.edu. If you are interested and unable to attend, please write to the same address.

When: Tuesday, June 11, 4:00 – 5:00 pm
Where: 1130 Plant Sciences Building


Who Can Apply: US Citizens – Current Juniors and Seniors, Recent Grads, Graduate Students – All Majors – GPA of 3.0 or higher recommended

Award Amounts: In general, Fulbright grants for study and teaching cover the following costs: round-trip transportation to the host country; maintenance for the academic year, based on living costs in the host country; medical Insurance; and orientation programs, in some cases. Fulbright study grants may also provide: book and research allowances; full or partial tuition, in most cases.

Duration: Approximately one academic year; length and timing of awards varies by individual country and/or region.

Early Summer NSF Grad Fellowship Info Session

ARE YOU PLANNING GRADUATE STUDIES TOWARD A PH.D. IN SCIENCE, MATH, ENGINEERING, SOCIAL, OR BEHAVIORAL FIELDS?

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) is the largest and one of the most prestigious awards available to support graduate studies toward Ph.D.'s in science, math, engineering, and social/behavioral fields. The NSF award provides 3 years of support, with an annual stipend of $34,000. You can learn more about the NSF award at www.nsfgrfp.org

199 MARYLAND SENIORS, RECENT ALUMNI, AND GRADUATE STUDENTS HAVE WON NSF GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS IN THE PAST 6 YEARS!

IMPORTANT: Students may apply TWICE for the NSF GRFP - once before starting graduate studies, and once during the first two years of graduate study. To enhance your chance of success is it essential to apply at each opportunity.

There will be two EARLY NSF GRFP information sessions for students planning to apply this Fall 2019 or in subsequent years. Current undergraduates at all levels and recent alumni are welcome to attend, as are those who will be first or second year graduate students in Fall 2019.

Eligibility: You must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident to apply for the NSF graduate research fellowship. You must be applying for graduate studies in an NSF supported field.

Deadlines to apply will be in late October 2019 for NSF GRFP awards. Planning early will give you your best chance of success!
