'Men attract ladies with material things and still complain that ladies are materialistic' says Relationship matchmaker, Olajide Tope

Posted: 14 Jun 2019 12:07 AM PDT

Relationship matchmaker, Olajide Tope
80% of men always complain that ladies date them because of material things. Despite being a Man, I would say it's the Men's fault, because we only use material things to attract the ladies. Hence the reason some broke men do not have the confidence to woo a lady because they believe, they do not have anything to offer a woman in a world where money and financial status is the key

This begs the question, is money the only thing women need?

But Men can still change the narrative by impressing ladies with their personalities, goals, mental acuity and ability instead of material things.Instead of telling her you can do heaven and earth, you have this and you have that, why not impress her with your personality, and see if you wouldn't attract intelligent ladies that appreciate Men with values. Trust me there are ladies that wouldn't listen to you if they perceived some iota of pride/show off in you.

If you make money your centre of attraction, be ready to finish what you've started, you must provide the money forever. Do not forget that there is no amount of money you can offer that someone else cannot offer more…

Do not misquote me, I am not saying you should not spend. In fact, you stand a very high chance of getting someone to love when you are financially okay, but don't make money or other material possessions your centre of attraction.

Adesua Etomi-Wellington is ready for global stage with ‘Muna’ official trailer

Posted: 13 Jun 2019 11:52 PM PDT

Adesua Etomi-Wellington is ready for global stage with 'Muna' official trailer
Adesua Etomi-Wellington has pulled off an uncommon stunt in the trailer of a new film, 'Muna'.

On June 3, KevStel TV released the full-length trailer for Kevin Nwankwor's action-packed film, 'Muna' and Adesua gave her best.
Interestingly, the film looks like it'll be great, capturing Adesua in full display of her seemingly acquired martial art skills.

With several months having passed since the fans of Mrs. Wellington got wind of her preparation for the role of an all grown Muna, it's time to revisit the possibility of her pulling it off now that the footage proves she might be ready for the global stage.

When the first images of Adesua's character (Muna) surfaced on her Instagram page back in July 2017, it sent shivers down the spines of her fans. The 'Wedding Party' star explained how her physical theatre training had helped her with the role after eight years. Not many of her contemporaries or senior colleagues would have pulled this off with the scenes seen in the 2:24 long official trailer.

From comments on the YouTube page to Adesua's official Instagram pages, the accolades were genuine and the overwhelming belief of Nollywood's inability to get the martial art and few other techniques right might have just been broken.

More to the point, Adesua's professional training from City College Coventry, the United Kingdom where she obtained a diploma in "physical theatre, musical theatre and performing arts" is surely an added advantage that might have set her for global recognition with her performance in the film, 'Muna'.

The official trailer further lends a voice to the issue of human trafficking - which has been the theme of a number of Nollywood movies. Muna, who finds love after being trafficked to Europe has come of age and learned new skills to help confront the human trafficking ring that has various individuals from different races across the world.

'Muna' also features a mix of brilliant movie practitioners that include Onyeka Onwenu, Falz, Ebele Okaro, Andrew Onochie, Ikpomwosa Gold, Kor Boakye, Charles Osiegbu, Steve Wilder, Adam Huss, Robert Miano, and Camille Winbush amongst others.

In April 2019, Adesua Etomi was ranked alongside Hollywood's superstar, Scarlett Johansson as the world's most famous actresses. In a special article and interview by Vogue magazine with the title, '14 Countries, 14 Superstars: The Global Actors Who Know No Limits,' Etomi was ranked alongside Léa Seydoux, Eiza González, Elizabeth Debicki, Angelababy, Deepika Padukone, Bruna Marquezine, and Doona Bae as nine of world's most famous actresses. Adesua told the world about Nollywood and she is living up to the billing as the famous actress from Nollywood.

Nollywood might not have an Angelina Jolie or Halle Berry to pull off some of the needed martial art performances, 'Muna's trailer offers assurance that Adesua is going to give a clench-fisting performance that both harkens back to her readiness to take on new challenges in the uncharted territory of the global stage.

Written by Unoma Nwankwor, 'Muna' is scheduled for theaters with unbelievable armours at a yet to be disclosed date.

The Plot
'Muna' is the story of a spirited girl raised by her grandmother; the last surviving member of their family. Muna's driving desire to provide a better life for herself and grandmother in the land of milk and honey leads to shady characters that will change the trajectory.

Landing her smack dab into the hands of traffickers. That experience turns her once golden heart into one driven by stone cold revenge on those who stole her innocence. In her grand plan, love was never on the agenda.

When secrets and betrayal complicate her strategy, she has a tough decision to make. Will she remain a prisoner of her past or allow love to set her free?

Do Nigerians really rate Falz as a rapper?

Posted: 13 Jun 2019 11:30 PM PDT

Do Nigerians really rate Falz as a rapper?
We need to talk about Falz's impressive run of killing features in 2019.

In 2017, Falz jumped on the remix of Pepenazi's 'I Ain't Got No Time' also featuring Reminisce. His verse was so impressive that I simply skip to that verse anytime I play the song.

Just like his 2019 run on features, that verse was overlooked. A few people might have noticed, but people are not talking about it. This is like the earliest parts of J.Cole's 2018 run on rap features.

In 2019 alone, there have been five features that Falz has absolutely killed with ease of menacing lyricism.

The five features are, 'Mind Your Bizness' by Simi, 'Feel Good' by Ice Prince also featuring Phyno, 'Daz How Star Do' by Skiibi also featuring Teni, 'Proud Fvck Boys Remix (Naija Version)' by Tulenkey also featuring Ice Prince and 'Alakori' by Dice Ailes.

The good part; like any rap Falz has done, they were effortless and they retained the humour, crisp deliveries, technique, impeccable cadences and sharp flows laced with humour and bars.

To each of those verses, there's either substance or linear stories. On 'Feel Good,' Falz managed to sneak a criticism of the showboating tendencies of young Nigerian men at clubs and bars into a verse that overdoses on great technique and cadences.

On 'Daz How Star Do,' 'Alakori' and 'Mind Your Bizness,' Falz delivers verses that stay true to the central narrative, not run away into a sunset of 'bar' obsession.

Falz didn't just jump from 2017 with a Pepenazi feature to the brilliance he now embodies either. His collaborative effort with Simi, Chemistry is filled with dope verses and so are his albums. In 2018, he killed verses for Yemi Alade and Ric Hassani.

The sad part; what makes Falz great on these songs is also why he gets overlooked. It's not anybody's fault either.

Why does this happen?
Falz's gimmick that makes his brilliance at rap unnoticed by the average Nigerian is also why the average Nigerian idolizes him as an artist.

I know. You're probably asking how it is possible for people to rate someone as an artist, but not as a rapper. Trust me, it's possible and Falz is Specimen A.

Earlier in the year, Falz released his polarizing, politically charged and critically-acclaimed fifth studio album, Moral Instruction. A lot of Nigerian music lovers will call it the best Nigerian album of 2019, and they will have a point - they love Falz the artist.

His memorable gimmicks sell his music and propelled him to the realm of stardom, but they are also why Nigerians don't celebrate him enough as a rapper. Falz is a rapper different to everything a 'Hip-Hop head' will call 'rapper.'

He is what you will call avant-garde with the rap. His style in itself is humourous. His pronounciation of words are deliberately 'Nigerianized.' Yet, he drops the poetry ad everything you will endorse in a rapper, just in a different way. This style also makes people feel Falz lack what 'Hip-Hop heads' call 'bars.'

This style is why he is loved, it's why people want to listen to him. He is not an underrated artist or creative, but he seems to somehow go missing when average Nigerians usually try to rank rappers.

The reason is simple; there's an effortlessness to his rap and this shows in his laidback approach to rap and it' unorthodox.

Nonetheless, It's not a sad situation - he man is getting paid. The fans that don't necessarily see him as a 'rapper's rapper' love him, and he seems not to care much for those ratings - at least on the face of it. Yet, I wager one thing; he's as competitive about Hip-Hop as any rapper.

For this, Falz shares similarities with Young Thug

Falz is the Nigerian rapper loved by many for his ability to make touching music either with humour or empathy. Young Thug is the eccentric American rapper known for his memorable, melodious sounds, sharp flows and adlibs.

Falz incorporates humour with 'Nigerianized' pronounciation of words to deliver bars while he embodies satirical characters in his music. Young Thug has a heavy Atlanta accent that somehow makes his words inaudible and seem mumbled along, even when he tells great stories on an album like Beautiful Thugger Girls.

While Falz is more well-rounded as a creative than Thugger, they are bound together by the career similarities; what sells them as artists is also why they get overlooked as rappers capable of delivering hot verses especially on features. They're both unorthodox to the standard in their respective fields.

Their respective unorthodox styles is also why they both have strong fanbases.

For Falz, his ability to simplify rap with humour, politics or empathy while still delivery bars or stories is why he's one of Nigeria's biggest stars. It is also why people don't realize his impeccable technique, beautiful cadences and sharp flows when he delivers his words especially on features.

For Thugger, his ability to create melodies and deliver sung-rap brilliance is why he has a loyal fanbase, but it's also why most people don't realize how vicious he is on verses and features.

While neither is on Eminem or Kendrick Lamar level of 'kill you on your own song' just yet, they do well in their lane. Yet, they get overlooked.

The difference within the similarity they share is that the average Hip-Hop head will say Falz lacks the bite the great rappers have while Young Thug, for his part is vicious with the trap.

However, I need to say that Falz has that bite, his style is just different.

Falz's definition of 'bars' is different

The average Hip-Hop lover has set definition of 'bars' and it's determined by specially woven metaphors, puns and similes. Falz doesn't do that, his rap is based on his killer flows, technique and cadences.

He also has bars, but they are just good lines like, "You go dey wonder who dey do birthday, who dey celebrate what when we start to pop."

'Pop' there is a pun for popping champagne or shining as a person.

Does Falz then need to drop a 'true' rap album to get rated?
The simple answer is no. He hacked it and he's doing great. If he, however, wants to do it, we'll be ready.

Finally, Okorocha Receives Certificate Of Return, Sworn In As Senator

Posted: 13 Jun 2019 04:07 PM PDT

Senator Rochas Okorocha

Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha, former Governor of Imo State, has eventually received his Certificate of Returns, and has been sworn in as Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District.

Senator Ahmed Lawan, the Senate President, conducted the swearing-in ceremony on Thursday at the red chambers.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), issued the Certificate of Return to Okorocha a few days ago, though he was not at the inauguration on Tuesday.

The electoral umpire INEC, had obeyed the directive of the court after its management meeting on Tuesday.

It could be recalled, that on Friday, the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered INEC to issue Certificate of Return to Okorocha as the duly elected Senator representing Orlu, Imo West Senatorial district.

Justice Okon Abang the presiding Judge, had ruled that the decision to deprive Okorocha of the certificate was "lawless".

The Justice, held that only the returning officer of INEC had the constitutional authority to declare a winner.

Reason Obasanjo Did Not Honour Abiola —Okupe

Posted: 13 Jun 2019 12:14 PM PDT

Dr. Doyin Okupe

Former Senior Assistant on Public Affairs to Nigeria's ex-president, Dr.Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Doyin Okupe, said former President Olusegun Obasanjo would have been misunderstood if he had attempted to honour his kinsman, the presumed winner of the 1993 presidential election, late Chief  MKO Abiola.

Dr. Okupe claimed that only a respected northerner who enjoys the respect of his kinsmen like President Muhammadu Buhari could honour Abiola and his action would not be greeted with criticism.

Okupe said this while speaking on the theme, "June 12: The Yoruba race in a reunited Nigeria"  at the maiden edition of the commemorative lecture to mark June 12 Democracy Day organised by a former governorship aspirant in Ogun state, Oladipupo Adebutu on Wednesday in Abeokuta.

According to a report by The Punch, the public affairs analyst said "One, it is not all that is known that should be said by an elderly person'. Two,  nothing can happen in this world until God Almighty ordains it. Three, the politics of Nigeria is so intricate. When they started Sharia in Zamfara, Obasanjo publicly endorsed it and allowed it.

RELATED: Falana Says Buhari Has Ended Obasanjo's May 29 Hypocrisy, As June 12 Now Democracy Day

"No northern President can do that effectively without incurring a major riot.

"There is no better person, there is no better government that can institutionalize June 12 except a government headed by a strong northerner otherwise, it will create a serious controversy.

"Buhari by providence has been well-placed. He is not just an ordinary northerner, (he's) a very strong one that a lot of northerners respect, that even if they disagree (with him) they will not vent their disagreement. They will hold their peace.

"And therefore, it was easier for him to do it. We give God the glory that it has been done. Delay is not denial."

While speaking at the event, the convener of the programme, Adebutu enjoined the Yorubas to be united, adding that there is a need for evaluation and re-evaluation.

He said, "June 12 means a lot to Nigerians and that is why we are celebrating it today. The efforts late MKO Abiola made to unite all tribes cannot be undermined. He sacrificed for the people."

Etinosa calls out MC Galaxy over IG live nude video saga
Obviously, the drama that surrounded Etinosa's now infamous controversial nude video is far from over as she has dragged MC Galaxy over his recent comments.

The movie star took to her Instagram page where she shared a really long post about MC Galaxy's latest comments where he alleged that they both conspired to release her nude video.

Obviously angered by his statement, Etinosa had some really unpleasant words for MC Galaxy.

"Stop lying to Nigerians. They are not stupid. This is the last I will say on this hurtful issue. It hurts me a lot and you can tell by the harsh stupid way I cursed an innocent child because his father won't stop throwing it at my face. However, after that happened I tried talking to a real therapist and it really works- I have made significant progress. i am working really hard to be a better person. I no longer feel rage or pain when fans troll me about it. I laugh. Moving on the process isn't as easy as it sounds on tv.

"By 9 pm on Africa Magic Urban you would see me again looking all perfect and talking perfect too but it's not as easy as it looks on tv so no one should make it more complicated by adding lies. You can't try to win Nigerians by lying to them. An effective damage control should avoid lies(MCG you would know this but you are an illiterate surrounded by illiterates). I have said my truth. I was caught at an unguarded moment, someone I called my friend recorded me and sent it to blogs. I take full responsibility and am trying to move on. I advise all parties involved including the nude video viewers to move on. Thanks 🙏," she captioned the post.

Denrele Edun opens up about his toxic relationships as he celebrates 38 birthday (Photos)

Posted: 13 Jun 2019 08:01 AM PDT

Denrele Edun
Media personality, Denrele Edun, turns 38 years old today June 13th. He shared new photos on his social media handle to mark the special day.

The media personality took time out to open up about his passed relationships which he referred to as toxic and unhealthy but emphasized that he believes one day he will meet the right one…

"Sometimes, looking back, I wonder how I ever got into such toxic and unhealthy relationships.
I recall dating the RUDEST, Most Insensitive and Outrightly Disrespectful human I had ever come across. Everything I did for this person was always faulted, the arguments were ceaseless, the mood swings were erratic to the last frequency and even worse, none of my friends or siblings could stand this specie!
Why was I even there in the first place?
I thought I could fix this person and change the narrow minded perception of "We ain't all the same. The good ones still exist! Like, I'm the good one here!".
But alas, I was wasting my precious time!
My past relationships have proven that I am a "RESCUER" and I have to continue working on breaking that.
I still believe in LOVE and that one day, I will meet someone who will truly love me – genuinely.
I know that for now, I must focus on rebuilding me!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DENRELE; the HOPELESS ROMANTIC like no other, the one who still cries when Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant have their face off scene in "Notting Hill", the one who Loves LOVE….."

A woman was shocked when her security camera captured a mysterious creature on her driveway.

The creature resembles Dobby, the elf in Harry Potter, and is seen walking beside a car in the driveway. At some point, the creature seems to clap its hands.

Sharing the shocking video to Facebook, Vivian Gomez wrote: "So I woke up Sunday morning and saw this on my camera and am trying to figure out…what the heck?? First I saw the shadow walking from my front door then I saw this thing….has anyone else seen this on their cameras?? The other two cameras didn't pick it up for some reason."

She also assured people that she didn't alter the video. She asked that the media should use whatever technology they use to verify such videos to see that she's telling the truth.

Web users are convinced the creature is an alien. Some say it looks like Harry Potter's Dobby.

It’s not enough to declare June 12 Democracy Day when Buhari’s govt disrespects rule of law – Atiku Abubakar

Posted: 13 Jun 2019 06:58 AM PDT

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria's former Vice President and presidential candidate of the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 general election, said that declaring June 12 as Democracy Day is not enough, when the current government allegedly disrespects the rule of Law.

The PDP Presidential candidate, stated this in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

He listed what according to him do not conform to the ideals of June 12 which Buhari's government is guilty of.

Atiku's statement read: "June 12 is at the soul of our democratic struggle; a threshold in our national life.

"The significance of the celebration of June 12, 1993, Presidential Election is a reminder of our history to becoming a democratic country. On this day twenty-six years ago, Nigeria voted for democracy against the jackboot notion of oppressive totalitarianism.

"The collective decision by Nigerians to elect democracy on that day was not to aggrandize the political elite or to replace the military dictatorship with civilian autocracy. No! The choice of democracy was to restore power to the people.

"Suffice it to state that the idea of June 12 is not merely to declare it as a Democracy Day – much as celebratory and commendable it might seem.

"The idea behind the event of June 12, 1993, embodies something much bigger than that. It was a threshold moment in our national life that demands of us as democrats to do a soul searching and ask the salient question of all time: how better off are Nigerians?

"It is not enough to declare June 12 a Democracy Day when the government of the day is disrespectful of the rule of law and wantonly disregards court orders on issues that border on fundamental human rights.

"It is not enough to declare June 12 a work-free day when the ordinary people of Nigeria still don't have the freedom to find a better life from the suffocating grip of poverty, when Nigeria is now the global headquarters of extreme poverty.

"It is not enough to declare June 12 a work-free day when a disproportionate number of citizens are not sure of where their next meal will come from and when the sanctity of their lives is not guaranteed.

"It is not enough to declare June 12 a work-free day when freedom of the press, and of speech, fundamentals of democracy is being assailed.

"As a compatriot who stood shoulder to shoulder with the icon of the June 12 struggle, Chief MKO Abiola of blessed memory, I know first-hand that the choice of HOPE as his campaign slogan wasn't merely a populist tokenism.

"He didn't mean to deceive Nigerians with a hope he could not deliver upon. And, today, the minimum requirement for any June 12 convert is to demand of them wherever they may be – either in government or in private lives – to deliver on the promises they made to the people.

"It is therefore not acceptable that an administration which had an opportunity of four years to deliver the promise of change to Nigerians, not only reneged on that promise but propelled the country into a near-comatose state will lay claims to being a true friend of the June 12 struggle.

"To be a lover of June 12 is to believe in the common good of the people. June 12 is about the political leadership having the focus to retool the Nigerian economy. It is about having the skills to create wealth and jobs for the teeming mass of unemployed. It is not about the inclination for shared pains; it is about shared prosperity.

"As we celebrate yet another episode of the June 12 struggle, the desire for hope is more preponderant today much as it was twenty-six years ago. So, for all true lovers of democracy, let us keep the HOPE alive."

The decision to now have June 12 as the country's Democracy Day is based on the presidential election of June 12, 1993, which the late Abiola supposedly won. The poll was however annulled by them military president, Ibrahim Babangida.

Bola Tinubu States Why June 12 Is More Important Than May 29

Posted: 13 Jun 2019 06:28 AM PDT

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu

The national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC),  Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in his evaluation of Nigeria's democratic history, has said that June 12, not May 29, captures the nation's evolution in the struggle for freedom.

Tinubu's position is contained in a statement he signed to commemorate the June 12 celebration titled, June 12: The truth that sets democracy free in our land.

Asiwaju maintained that May 29 only stands for Nigeria's transition from military to democratic rule in 1999, adding that the date does not reflect the woes the country suffered even before 1993 as a result of dictatorship, PM News reports.

The APC National leader said: "Without those who stoutly stood on June 12 and sacrificed life, limb, freedom, economic ruin, psychological devastation and more in the battle against tyranny, there would most certainly not have been any May 29, 1999, handover to commemorate," he said.

"June 12 must serve as a continual reminder to Nigerians on the imperative of pursuing the cause of justice in all spheres of our lives at all times as a necessary condition for peace, prosperity and progress.

"As we kick off from today the annual celebration of June 12 as Nigeria's Democracy Day, let us renew our commitment to utilizing democracy as a vehicle for eliminating poverty in our land as well as providing prosperity and life more abundant for the teeming millions of our people.

"It was indeed his deep aversion to poverty and the avoidable suffering of the majority of our people that compelled Chief MKO Abiola to contest Nigeria's presidency and thus his campaign slogan was 'Farewell to Poverty."

In a related development, Professor Wole Soyinka, had on Tuesday described the celebration of June 12 as Nigeria's Democracy day as a well-needed closure for himself and others involved in the struggle to actualize the 1993 mandate.

In a statement titled, "Democracy Day Primer (1)," Soyinka, kicked against people attempting to reduce the June 12 struggle to an ethnic project.
