Popular Nigerian singer-songwriter, omawumi reacts to news of a gorilla swallowing N6.8m in kano Zoo as she said this country is useless. We could recall it was reported that a gorilla placed at a Kano Zoo, allegedly swallowed N6.8m as claimed by the finance officer of the recreational facility. Pastor Tony Rapu has shared new photos of rehabilitated Lizzy, the former drug addict whose story went viral few months ago. Recall that Lizzy's story caught the attention of Nigerians, after it was disclosed that she rescued off the street by popular pastor and social reformer, Tony Rapu. Lizzy was said to be addicted to a series of hard substances, and was rescued from the streets after a long period of living in the slums and getting high on several substances.  In the video, Lizzy revealed she was introduced to substance abuse by a former boyfriend who used to spike her weed with crack. She stated that initially she didn't know at first but later got addicted to it. However ahead of the Father's day celebration, Pastor Tony Rapu who shared new photos of rehabilitated Lizzy, stated that it is dedicated to the former drug addict who turned 26 in February.    He wrote; Father's Day 2019 is dedicated to my spiritual daughter Lizzy who turned 26 in February. Even though God is 'Father', many do not have a positive association with that word because they were raised in dysfunctional homes. For them, 'father' triggers painful memories. So this Father's Day, let's be sensitive to those from difficult and painful backgrounds. Many still yearn for positive memories such as running to greet their dad when he returns home from work. This never happened. Some yearn for the father-daughter dance at their wedding. This may never happen with their natural fathers. Today, let's reach out in compassion to the physical and spiritual needs of the fatherless, the neglected, abused and abandoned. Let's cultivate a sensitivity and compassion for children around us who grapple with instability at home. Let's cherish especially those women who never experienced a father's affection, by treating them with genuine love and dignity. The music star made this known via her Twitter page on Friday, June 14, 2019. According to her in a series of tweets, she reminisced on the time she started singing and how she wanted to just be heard. She went on to reveal that after being an active voter of the Grammys recording academy for years, she finally gets to be inducted in its board. "And today I'm happy to announce to you that after being an active voting member of the recording academy for years, this Monday, I will be inducted into the Recording Academy (the GRAMMYs®) Governance Board. I will now be a part of the Governors for the Washington DC Chapter board," she tweeted. Aramide joins 18 other members in the yet to constituted board. Congratulations to one of Nigeria's biggest export on this new move. Aramide isn't the only celebrity who has been able to achieve such level of greatness. About a year ago, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde was invited to become a member of the Oscars award body. At Empire Management, we could not think of a better partner for this project than FilmOne. They have proven that stories from Nigeria can inspire everyone and they understand the importance of world-class production values." Known for producing some of Nigeria's most successful films, including The Wedding Party, The Wedding Party 2, My Wife & I, New Money and Moms At War, FilmOne will be producing its third feature this year and its first in collaboration with Empire Management. This will be Empire's first foray into cinema, after success in television, music videos and commercials. A joint statement from Kene Okwuosa, Chief Executive Officer of FilmHouse Group, and Moses Babatope, Managing Director at FilmOne Distribution & Production, conveys their excitement about the effect the film will have on young audiences. "We decided to get involved in this project because of our passion to inspire the younger generation to believe in themselves and to believe that dreams come true for those who are determined to overcome the challenges along the way. | Singer, Naira Marley finally out of jail Posted: 16 Jun 2019 01:00 AM PDT Two weeks after the Federal High Court, Ikoyi granted Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley bail on two conditions the singer is reportedly out of jail.
In a video published by Instablog9ja on Friday, June 14, 2019, the artiste is seen in the midst of friends and well-wishers congratulating him. Recall that on Thursday, May 30, 2019, Naira Marley appeared before Justice Nicolas Oweibo of Federal High Court, Lagos for his bail hearing and the court granted him the bail on the conditions of; a N2,000,000 bond, and two sureties, one with a landed property and the other, a Civil Servant, not lower than a level 10 officer.  Naira Marley was arrested on Friday, May 10, 2019, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) together with Zlatan Ibile, Rahman Jago, Guccy Branch and one other person. Following their arrest, the EFCC paraded them over their alleged involvement in cyber crimes. But few days later, Zlatan Ibile and others were freed, while Naira Marley remained in the EFCC's custody. On Monday, May 20, 2019, the musician was arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos, where he was charged with an 11 count charge. He, however, pleaded not guilty to all charges.
