Omoni Oboli makes 3 good points to support Busola Dakolo

Posted: 03 Jul 2019 12:30 AM PDT

On Friday, June 28, 2019, Nigeria woke up to photographer and mother of two, Busola Dakolo, Wife of Timi Dakolo give an interview to YNaija TV.

The four-part chat gave a detailed account of her alleged rape at the hands of Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA). She claimed that he raped her twice - the first time, she was 17 and he was set to marry his current wife.

Since her account became public, it has caused a ripple effect in the Nigerian mainstream. Nigerian women continue to speak up about their rape, harassment and molestation.

Busola Dakolo has gotten as much support from heavyweight celebrities as clergymen have brought hell on themselves by being rape apologists or by simply saying nothing.

But on July 1, 2019, Nigerian actor, producer and director, Omoni Oboli took to her Instagram page to drop an insightful take on the cynicism that has trailed Dakolo's account of her rape.

Of the impressive things he said, here are the three most impressive points he made;

1. There is no playbook to a convincing rape allegation
In Nigeria, a lot of people are entitled to women's bodies. So instead of treating rape accusation with fairness, they ask if the victim hadn't seen signs of her rapist's tendencies beforehand.

They question what the victim was wearing during the shameful act. They throw dust into accusations by believing rape can only be in a certain way.

But during her statement, Oboli made a salient point, "Unless you planned your own rape, the accounts are expected to sound incredible and spurious, and I suspect that's why we don't have so many convictions in many rape cases.

"Is there a manual, or rapist playbook that's being distributed to all would-be rape victims (aka all women, and some boys and men) that I missed that gives point by point descriptions of how to present yourself to the rapist so that the story can be more plausible or believable to the court to prosecute."

This settles the matter of how to approach rape accusations.

2. Pastor Fatoyinbo should be investigated
Busola Dakolo's accusation is not the first time Pastor Fatoyinbo would be embroiled in accusations of illicit rendezvous. Yet, he has never been investigated. In a case like this, there is precedent that arouses suspicion.

On the matter, Oboli makes the point, "How about precedence? There are other alleged accounts not reported, or have been reported but never been prosecuted in court or punished by the church. Does precedent mean culpability? Of course not.

"But it's enough to push hard to see what the hell is going on. It begs a more robust investigation, which if for nothing else, may help save potential preys from the prowling fangs of suspected predators."

3. 'Touch not my anointed' in the face of multiple accusation is a questionable stance
This is a such a funny stance. In her 2013 statement, Lawyer, Ese Walters who was the first woman to make an accusation against Pastor Fatoyinbo says he manipulated her and prevented her from going public with statements like, "Touch not my anointed."

Yet, Nigerians still use it as a ground to shield a potential rapist from facing punishment. Omoni Oboli calls it an "Out-of-context scriptural abuse that is being used to justify the conpsiracy of silence regarding the problem of rape in our culture.

She continues, "Men of authority have have hidden behing this verse to perpetuate all kinds of evil within the 'church.'"

Omoni Oboli completed her write-up by lending support to Busola Dakolo and her husband, Timi Dakolo.

Nelson has emerged the winner of the Endurance Challenge in the Big Brother house.

BBNaija 2019: Nelson emerges winner of endurance challenge
Nelson beats the other guys in the house to emerge the winner of first leg of the Endurance Challenge.

The challenge called 'Bet9ja Endurance Challenge,' saw the housemates take part in a challenge where they were divided into two groups.

The first group consisted of all the female housemates who Big Brother tagged 'The Distractors' and the other group had the guys who were tagged as 'The Heros'. The gamed involved the male housemates holding a ball each above their head without allowing it to move or fall.

'The Distractors' had one job only which was to do everything possible to distract the guys and make the sure they fail at the task. It didn't take long before the male housemates began to give up on the obviously strenuous task.

After 40 minutes the last men standing were Frodd and Nelson. However, Frodd couldn't withstand the pressure of the game living Nelson as the last man standing.

After the game, the male housemates played another game where five coins were placed under 10 cups. However, there were ten cups which meant, only five cups had coins attached to them.

The housemates who were able to find a coin were told to hold on to the coin. Here are coin winners of the cup challenge

Seyi - 20

Gedoni - 10

Fred - 100

Frodd - 10

Omashola - 30

Tuoyo - 50

BBNaija 2019 'Day 3' Simply Tacha and Thelma clash as things reach boiling point on
We guess the drama expected in the Big Brother house has started as Tacha and Thelma get into a close to physical fight.

Gedoni had made food for the housemates and Tacha, who was with him through the preparation dished the food to all the housemates. The housemates had taken the BetNaija endurance challenge and the cup challenge before the settled down for lunch.

Thelma had complained about the meal, which Tacha dished for her and the Port Harcourt first daughter will not have any of her complaints.

The two housemates had a field day shouting at each other and exchanging words over the little disagreement

#BBNaija2019 'Frodd breaks down in tears after narrating how he got into the house'
Frodd was all tears after narrating how he got into the BBNaija 2019 Pepper Dem house.

Frodd narrated how he was placed on performance improvement plans by the company he was working for after failing to meet his monthly sales target since late 2018.

He further explained how his boss told him that he will be laid off if he fails to meet his target for the month of March 2019. He said he was worried but his mum believed in his abilities and after missing the first day of audition in Lagos, he decided to audition on the second day.

Frodd also gave insights how his best friend urged him and even supported him to go for the audition with the small token he had on him. He gave a vivid explanation of all he went through to get into the auditioning hall.

He said he had lost hope after auditioning but was surprised when he was chosen and the rest as he said was history.

He had barely concluded his story when his emotions gave way and he began crying. He left the room close to the garden and moved to the second room close to the bathroom to let out all his emotions. He was joined by Mike, Nelson, Tacha and Ella who came to console him.

This is coming hours after he lost the Endurance Challenge to Nelson but later won himself the Bet9ja coin alongside Seyi, Gedoni, Fred, Omashola and Tuoyo.

Zlatan slams journalist, Joey Akan who described Naira Marley’s fans as’Donkeys of the Year’

Posted: 02 Jul 2019 04:24 PM PDT

Entertainment writer, Joey Akan shared his opinion on Naira Marley's newly released song, 'Soapy' and according to him, Its an outrightly dumb and thrashy song,

He went on describe Naira Marley's  fans as 'Donkeys of the Year' for supporting a song that encourages 'masturbation'. His post got a response from Naira Marley's colleague and ally, Zlatan.

See their exchange below….

Nigerians are poor and lost, desperately looking for something bigger than themselves to connect to. That's why Naira Marley had support with Yahoo; lost, disillusioned souls looking for belonging from anything higher than their status. Yahoo? No problem. .

Now we have another stain on us with Ijo Soapy. Whoever designed that record, knew what they were doing. They know the base they are targeting. It is not for you sensible person with outrage. It is for those same people who supported him during his self-inflicted travails. .

Marlians are a stupid bunch. A band of nitwits in the idea of foolishness. There is no boundary, no fore or afterthought. Just lost sheep without a modicum of sense or self-respect. Marlians stand for iranu. They stand for rubbish. And they stan for normalization of rubbish. .

Same way Yahoo was trying to go mainstream, Marley is now pushing for normalization of public masturbation. Grown men making dick moves on dance floors is not evolution. It's degeneration. Masturbate in your homes. "Soap" isn't pop culture fodder. .
Marlians: Donkey of the Year.

Instagram Comedienn, Lizzy Jay Accuse Movie Director Of Sexual Molestation

Posted: 02 Jul 2019 12:53 AM PDT

Instagram comedian Lizzy Jay also known as Omo Ibadan have also called out a movie director Jimoh Abiodun, for sexually abusing her in the past.

She grew the nerve and courage to speak out following the recent COZA pastor saga between Busola Dakolo and Biodun Fatoyinbo.

She started out by sharing a post in which she called out a ' harasser, pot bellied Yoruba movie director'. This vague description left many people wondering. Then, in her Insta story, Lizzy Jay spilled the beans and exposed the name of the harasser to be Jimoh Abiodun.

She accused Jimoh of molesting her and other girls. Then she said that he also instilled fear in the heart of many of them so that they will not talk about their unpleasant encounters with him.

Even more, the comedienne claimed that the movie director is attempting to destroy evidence by deleting their chats.

Jimoh Abiodun however responded to her allegations and he completely denied it, with threats to sue Lizzy if she does not retract her statements.

In spite of the threats issued out by Jimoh Abiodun, Lizzy Jay went on to drag him further. She rubbished his reaction and claimed that he was not right to say that she was accusing him out of bitterness for having being sent out of his team.

Oladips Blasts Reminisce In “Maybe” Lyrics

Posted: 02 Jul 2019 12:50 AM PDT

Omo Iya AjÄ™

Han Han

Oluwa lo pa wa mo lati January wo December

Nigba ti a ri owo se fire oloboro, ti ko si eba

Nigba ti ko si record label, helper tabi sponsor

When i was doing it for passion and the culture

All my life i have been on a mission to be great

I sacrificed everything bro, whatever that it takes

And maybe i was selfish at some point in my life, cus while making choices i could have made some mistakes

Well, if you ask, i would say it's true

I mean, Maybe i should have stayed in school

Maybe i should have been in church or prayed with you, but music chose me so i thought its cool

Cus i thought its you like this talent is God's gift, right?

Unless of course it is all drift

What if this is just God testing my faith and all this are just trips

Doctors will never joke around when it's real cancer

Metaphorically speaking, God i need answers

Cus every step that i took and every move that i made was a leap of faith that i took in your name

I hate to accept that i failed

Already lost count of the times that i prayed

Give me a sign, i need to be sure that you are listening

Aijebe baba God, emi ati yin oni jo ni isinmi

Huh, maybe i shouldnt blame you

I mean i met Reminisce and it was through the same you

I had a plan and i thought that we would finish work

I want to know why, God tell me why it didnt work

I was a young promising dips before i signed to label

Same reason why i had to leave the label

I used to be responsible for my loss and wins

Then it felt like someone cut my wings

Dann! Maybe i shouldnt have signed in the first place

Now i feel like choking myself with my necklace

The day that i signed, i wish there was an eclipse

I would have stayed in my house and watched my netflix

No regrets tho! Just life lessons

And ever since i left, i've been in my right senses

You need to be in my shoes to know how it really feels

No more taking drugs and no more popping bills

I know you did all you could but…

We dont do the things that we should

I thought we had a business but you told me you was helping me

But why did you give me a f-ucking deal if you was helping me

Your mindset is a riddle that i solved

And… here is the reason that i brawled

If you spend a dollar and you claimed that is a favor then the contract was a f-cking trap and a fraud

There are two sides to a story

I had to pour my mind out tho, i'm sorry

You never saw me making money for the label, everything you did, feels like you did it for the optics

Maybe along the line i had my own flaws

Maybe i am just lost in my own cloths

Let me pause for a minute and be my own judge

Maybe its not your fault, maybe its my own probs

Dear upcomings, i know you wish to be signed

I know you want the celebrity life so you choose to be blind

But let this be a lesson and a boost to your brand

Take advantage of the internet, get used to your brand

Get used to the hustle cause it's deeper that you think

Because life is also hard for most of the niggas that you see

Take it easy on yourself bro, it's better to grow slowly

Dont be like me and some of my colleagues with same story

Wo! I'm responsible for my actions

Omo alakisa mi shi ma pada di alaso

Sugbon ti ko ba ni idi mi o le ma para with no reason

But iya bode so fun mi pe aint nobody owe me shit

Aint nobody owe me shit, right? but i signed a deal then i expected some doings

Regardless, thank you for everything!
