Winnie Ngozi Ikpeazu popularly known as Winnie Martins is a Gospel singer-songwriter, worship leader and author based in Brussels, Belgium. Her unique sound and urban appeal will hit you in the face at first encounter. This has also caught the attention of many, winning her a Global audience. The release of her single "Thank You" in 2016 was the first introduction to the music ministry of Winnie Martins, and as earlier mentioned, this was also the first discovery of her unique sound and urban style. The single, though R&B, is urban, contemporary, with a layer of Pop. Winnie highlighted the fact that her appeal is to the trendy and youthful. This was further strengthened by her subsequent releases. The Human Resource manager shared this with other housemates as they continued to reveal how they all auditioned and got to the house. According to her, she was working at a very good company in Lagos, until she got fired in January 2019. Isilomo went on to accuse one of her colleagues for being responsible for her sack. Taking a trip from Lagos to Abuja after getting fired from her job made her audition for the show where she eventually got selected from the thousands who showed up for the auditions. She, however, said she wasn't going to make her popular by mentioning her name, that she would rather wait until she wins the ultimate prize before calling her out. Another housemate who also shared her very interesting journey to the show was Mercy. The video vixen thanked the other people who auditioned with her at Warri for influencing the judges' decision in making her get to the house.  According to her, she had auditioned at the Warri audition venue but was told that she wasn't the person they were looking for. This decision was not received warmly by the other contestants which almost caused a commotion at the venue. She, however, got a second chance and the rest they say is history. Naira Marley has replied Kaffy over her recent comments about his new dance style 'Soapy.' The rising music star made this via his Instagram live video on Thursday, July 4, 2019. According to him, even though it is a well-known fact that he comes for anyone who attacks him, he wonders why Kaffy will throw jabs at him. | Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo has been accused of rape again and other misconducts Posted: 04 Jul 2019 10:00 PM PDT Only a week after Fatoyinbo was publicly accused of rape, another alleged victim has made a similar accusation.
Another former member of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) has accused its founder and senior pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, of raping her. Busola Dakolo, a celebrity photographer, alleged last week that Fatoyinbo raped her twice in one week when she was a 17-year-old who had just finished from secondary school. Dakolo's explosive interview paved the way for several other claims that were posted on social media alleging that the married pastor had groomed a lot of women he's had sex with, including teenagers. One of the people who have claimed abuse at the hands of the pastor has now stepped forward to allege that he raped her in the last quarter of 2017. In an interview with YNaija, the unnamed victim, called X, said she joined the church in 2009 and steadily grew close to Fatoyinbo's wife, Modele, and the family's children. She alleged that Modele groomed her for her husband by giving her access to the family by making her feel special. She accepted Modele's offer to take care of their children as a legal guardian in a city abroad, a job that also required her to work closely with Fatoyinbo who visited regularly to minister to his congregation there. When the alleged rape happened, she was in a meeting with Fatoyinbo at his residence discussing church business. She said he left his seat and joined her on the couch she was sitting and then attempted to hug and kiss her despite her protests, actions she found shocking. X said Fatoyinbo ignored her protest and went on to take off her navy blue jean trouser. "He started to take that off. I remember trying to fight off. I kept on asking him to stop but he just kept on going. "He had taken off my button and my zipper was down. And then he had one hand holding me back to the couch and another hand right up in my pant. "I think at that point, I pretty much just knew what was about to happen," she said. She said Fatoyinbo simply kept saying "Just relax" to all of her protests as he went on to rape her. "He took off his pants and did what he wanted to," she said. She noted that she wasn't shouting during the incident, but that she was crying and blamed herself for putting herself in that situation. X further said Fatoyinbo apologised profusely after the alleged rape, and then sent her home. "I didn't go there to have sex with him. I didn't ask to have sex with him. I told him to stop on countless occasions. There was no consent. I didn't give my consent. I didn't come on to him. I never saw him as anything other than a pastor and a mentor," she said. X said she continued to work for the church and Fatoyinbo's family after the alleged rape incident until July 2018. She said Fatoyinbo has further apologised to her for the incident on two different occasions in 2018. On both occasions, the pastor had been called out for alleged sexual misconduct on social media by Timi Dakolo, Busola's husband. She believes Fatoyinbo's apologies were his attempt at damage control and that he had implied financial compensation to ensure her silence. X also said Fatoyinbo suggested that Busola had seduced him and 'something had happened' but he hadn't known she was a teenager. While narrating her experience, Busola said Fatoyinbo first raped her in the comfort of her home, and then again in the back of his car, rape incidents which she claimed he admitted and issued an apology to her family. In his initial response last week, Fatoyinbo denied the allegations "in every measure", saying that they're fallacious and non-existent. "I have never in my life raped anybody even as an unbeliever and I am absolutely innocent of this," he said in a statement. Despite his denial, scores of protesters showed up with placards at COZA's headquarters in Abuja and its Lagos branch on Sunday, June 30, 2019 demanding that Fatoyinbo step down and face a criminal probe. In another statement on Monday, July 1, Fatoyinbo announced he'll be taking a leave of absence from the pulpit after taking time to pray and seek spiritual counsel from Christian leaders. "Drawing from their counsel and that of the leadership of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly and owing to my love for God's work and the sacred honour of my calling, I have decided to take a leave of absence from the pulpit of the church. "Although it would break my heart to tatters to stay a day without doing ministry, I believe it is the right thing to do at this time. "It is in the interest of the flock of Christ that issues concerning me do not become a distraction to their worship of their Lord," he said. Many have called for Fatoyinbo to be probed by the authorities for the several allegations against him, but the Nigeria Police Force says a formal complaint has to be filed before anything can be done. In his response last week, Fatoyinbo said COZA's lawyers have been briefed to commence criminal and civil actions against Busola and all individuals making false allegations directly or by proxies. Tacha, one of the audience favourites and Instagram sensation won a task given by Big Brother. The ladies seemed to be having fun doing their task which saw Khafi coming behind Tacha in the task. Biggie tested Housemates' creativity today when he gave them a task that involved threading needles and composing songs. The Housemates were grouped into two. The ladies on one hand and the gentlemen on the other. The men were given fifteen minutes to jointly compose a song and perform the song while the ladies carried out their task. The task was to thread all the needles on one length of thread. As they do this, the men sang for them with the intention to either 'ginger' them or to distract them. Eleven plates containing needles were placed on the dining table for the ladies. As soon as the ladies heard the task, some of them with long nails started filing their artificial nails. For the composition, Omashola, with his cracked voice, was not deterred as he composed the tune to which they added the lyrics. The song that emerged from this exercise was an acapella. When the task was completed, the ladies formed a single line based on the result of the task. The winner, Tacha followed by Khafi and they were instructed by Biggie to go to the Garden to select a cup and reveal its contents. Tacha, though the winner of the task, didn't get any Bet9ja coins. Jackye, Thelma, Avala, Mercy and Esther all found Bet9ja Coins and were congratulated by Biggie. On Tuesday, July 2, 2019, Tacha had a confrontation with Thelma over the fish she dished alongside her lunch after the day's task. The two had a shouting match before they were separated by some female housemates while Mike looked on. Here are some of the worst injuries that doctors, nurses and first responders have treated due to 4th of July incidents. "I had a nine year old lose an eye a few years ago," recalls one commenter. "An older kid shot a bottle rocket at him and the bottle rocket hit him in the right eye. The globe ruptured from the explosion. I had to pack his eye socket with gauze in attempt to kept the rest of the globe together but it was pretty obvious the eye was a total loss. The older kid was prosecuted for the incident." Perhaps unsurprisingly, firework-related accidents are fairly common. A first responder shares something they remember happening when they were a kid: "Friend of the family was a spectator at a city event. A firework misfired and went into the crowd, and hit him square in the face before blowing up. It broke most of the bones in his face, lost one eye, suffered brain damage." "I helped with this one as an intern a while ago," says another commenter. "Some drunk guy was holding a mortar tube and firing it off. Ended up turning towards him so he put his hand over the tube to hopefully stop it coming out? Ended up blowing up the majority of his hand and burned a hole in his abdomen." It can't be overstated how important it is to handle these things with care. As one comment points out: "I mean, when you consider it, it is a small bomb that gets launched into the air." Somebody who works in a burn unit says they dread this particular holiday. "Every year there's a bunch of fireworks and grill and kitchen fire accidents coming in with something that could have been prevented/avoided if the people involved had just taken a few moments to realize what could go wrong with this idea. A recurrent one is someone setting off a small firework in their hand. Hand open, little damage. Closed hand around the firework? Yeah, anywhere from a few fingers to the majority of the hand now gone." On the less serious side of the scale, a medic has this cautionary tale: "I had a patient who thought it would be funny to light their farts with a lighter when they were drunk. They drove on together until a traffic light separated them. Jason Jr. later told his father that when he had turned back, the bike was gone. He must have gone for a joy ride, the son thought. His father was always active and independent like that, often waking up early, before Jason and his brother, Jacob. He would hit the gym, come home, and get ready for work. After work and school, the three would hang out. Then Ross would go back to the gym. Jason checked behind once more, but his father was still absent. Back at the intersection, as the red light turned green, Ross turned left to follow his son in the car. But a vehicle sped up in front of him, trying to cut him off. Ross swerved. He lost control and went barreling toward a curb. Then, he says everything went black. When Ross awoke, he was lying on his back. He saw familiar faces. Ross worked as a volunteer fire fighter in town, and his friends now crowded around him, the first responders. There was an ambulance with them. Ross says he wondered if Jason saw the accident. He prayed he did not. Things began to blur as he was lifted into the ambulance. Why can't I move my legs? Why can I move my feet? he remembers asking. Then, he was being pushed toward a helicopter to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was taken into surgery. I didnt understand what had happened. Why am I not moving? Why am I here? Why is this happening? Ross had suffered a T12 spinal cord injury. The surgeon implanted metal rods and twelve screws to stabilize Rosss spine. By the time Ross awoke, he was paralyzed from the waist down. I didnt understand what had happened, Ross says. Why am I not moving? Why am I here? Why is this happening? These thoughts turned to: This is not actually happening; this is not real; I'm just going to wake up; it's a bad dream. And then: Oh my god, this is reality. Now what's going to happen? How am I going to take care of my kids? How am I going to continue working? How am I going to go on in life? What's the point of even living anymore?  Ross was told that the other car just kept driving, and no one had identified the driver. He had fire and police friends look into it, but their search came up empty. The first time Rosss boys came to see him, he remembers they were noticeably distressed at seeing their father in his bed-ridden state. He felt their dejection. But then a couple weeks later, when they walked into his room, Ross saw something different. They were positive. They asked questions. Their attitudes helped to flip a switch in Ross. They showed me that they're still happy, that they know what happened, and that theyre gonna make the best of it," he says. "I thought to myself: Stop being negative, stop being down, and show them that life goes on. Ross dropped his search for the perpetrator. He spent two months in rehab before going home for the first time. He had to learn everything again, almost every activity he once thought normal. The new normal became his greatest challenge. I don't know what was in me, he says, reflecting on those first months. I dont know how I was able to fully push it all aside and take it head on and go. Friends came to renovate Rosss basement to make it more wheelchair accessible. Ross was able to work from home and adapt his vehicle with hand controls. He could drive. He could continue with his job at the bank. But Ross was inactive and frustrated. Finally, after being motivated by his kids, Ross went back to the gym. When I started going back to the gym, I was unsure of what I can do, he remembers. I got on the bench and started to do just the bar. My kids were there helping stabilize me by holding my legs. I was able to do the bar, and I was like: okay! I threw two 45 plates on. I was surprised that I was able to get a good number of reps in. So I started going up in weight. I was like: Man, I got no lower half, but my upper body is still here. Im still here.  Ross remembered his first days in rehab at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare . The day he was admitted the Gaylord Sports Association was holding a 5k obstacle course race . He remembered watching the competition then, his nurse beside him. That could be you next year, he had been told. He didnt believe it. In January, six months after the accident, Ross returned for some physical therapy. He saw a sign on a bulletin board for the race. He thought to himself: hey, why not? The race gave Ross a goal. Though he was able to lift weights, he had lost ability to use his core, making many movements impossible. His cardiovascular strength was also depleted. Ross changed his diet to accommodate. He turned to a high-protein dietboiled eggs in the morning with oatmeal, small snacks every few hours to curb hunger (fruit and veggies), and then healthy lunches and dinners. He would push himself on trail hikes with his boys, allowing his heart rate to rise without allowing himself to rest. On June 22, almost exactly a year after the accident, Ross completed the Gaylord 5k. His sons and brother ran beside him. The look on their faces when I accomplished my goal of crossing the finish lineno words can explain, says Ross, proudly. And I can see in them looking at me: Oh my God, dad, you still did it. Nothing is more uplifting. Ross has already tackled rock climbing and archery. And he hopes to keep going: basketball, kayaking, waterskiing, rugbyall in his future. There was a time in the hospital when Ross wondered how he might find the motivation to live. But then he had the realization. There was no point in dwelling on the negatives, he says. It's time to make the best of the situation. My kids motivated me to get up and do what I had to do. And then I was like, hey listen, I'm going to embrace what happened. There are an ever-increasing number of packaged products-all marketed to people who don't have a lot of time to be closely doing the math on nutrition facts panels. (So if there are 280 calories per serving, and the bag says there are about 4 1/2 servings per bag, then...) So you grab something that looks somewhat good and also good-for-you. But then later you take a closer look and wonder: "Is this even healthy?" If that's you, then you're in luck. Welcome to Is This Even Healthy?, where we take a packaged snack product and ask a registered dietitian that very question. Then we sample the product and share the experience with you. First up, chips made out of chicken. Yes, chicken. The Product: Wilde Brand Thin & Crispy Chicken Chips, Barbecue The Nutrition: Per 15 chip serving (2 servings per bag) 170 calories, 7g protein, 10g carbs (0g fiber, 1g sugar), 10g fat The Ingredients: chicken chips (natural chicken, tapioca flour, coconut oil, black pepper, garlic (powder), seasoning blend [coconut palm sugar, tomato powder, sea salt, onion powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, natural smoke flavor, citric acid, spices] Is This Even Healthy? I definitely wouldnt consider these chips a high-quality protein source , says Abby Langer, R.D., a dietitian based in Toronto . Meaning, dont eat them as a source of protein at meals. Theres nothing horrid about them, despite the concept of making chips out of meat and starch. The calories seem comparable to potato chips, and the protein is higher. Overall Id consider this product a good snack for when youre craving chips. Nothing earth shattering here though-theyre just another ultra-processed option thats riding the protein/no grain wave. And the cassava root? Its just a grain-free starch. No fiber. Its the equivalent of white flour. Is This Even Good? Taste: At first bite, theres a pleasant, straight-out-of-the-gate, sweet-salty BBQ pop. I detect neither light or dark meat. Nor coconut. Nor tapioca, for that matter. The nearest BBQ flavor comparison is Pringles, which is not a bad thing. Texture: Crispy, but also crumbly. A good potato chip crunches, and then melts. Chicken chips crunch, and then splinter, and then turn pebbled in nature, until finally you swallow a sort of rough-textured paste, which is a bad thing. Aftertaste: Ah theres the tapioca flour, which admittedly Ive never had, but can only guess because it has that starchy, heavy feeling left by similarly dense fruits and vegetables.
