Starting at 11:30 a.m. employers' reps will be available for conversations. Students majoring in Economics are especially encouraged to attend. Please bring several copies of your resume to share with employers of interest. Attire: Business casual. |

Fall Internships with the Council on Foreign Relations Posted: 29 Aug 2019 05:12 AM PDT The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is still accepting applications for their Fall 2019 Internships. Volunteer interns are recruited year-round on a semester basis in both the New York and Washington, DC, offices. Volunteer internships are generally offered in the Executive Office, CFR.org, the Studies Program, Publications, Communications, the Meetings Program, the Corporate Program, and Foreign Affairs publishing. Each semester requires a part-time commitment of at least sixteen to twenty-one hours per week. A volunteer intern's duties generally consist of departmental support, editing and writing, research, and event coordination. Gilman Study Abroad Scholarship for Pell Grant Recipients Posted: 28 Aug 2019 02:45 PM PDT Are you a Pell Grant recipient (and US citizen) planning to study abroad in Winter, Spring or Summer 2020? You may be eligible to apply for the U.S. State Department's Gilman Scholarship, which provides up to $5,000 for study abroad and up to $8,000 if you are studying a critical language. In the last three years, 100 UMD undergraduate students have won Gilman Scholarship! Attend an upcoming information sessions and you'll get access to the ELMS Gilman resource site, which includes samples of successful application essays. You'll also learn how you can earn an automatic $1,000 grant from the UMD Education Abroad office for completing a Gilman application! INFORMATION SESSIONS There will be several information sessions where you can learn more about the program and ask questions. RSVP: gilman@umd.edu. Note session locations.
