Reacting to this, Ubi Franklin said the fan sounded so entitled and as such promised to block him.

Nigerian singer, Jaywon, has taken to social media to share his two cents on the prevalence of gay people in the country and his analysis on the issue is pretty interesting.

While many people are of the opinion that some people are naturally born that gay, others however believe there are people who claim to be gay in order to gain certain benefits.

One of such people is Nigerian singer, Jaywon who got social media users talking after he took to his Instastory to share his opinion on gay people.

The singer who accepted the possibility of some people being born gay, stated that some people are only gay as a result of poverty and hunger.

Mr Eazi is out here for equity and owing the narrative with his emPawa intiative

Posted: 30 Aug 2019 07:30 AM PDT

Mr Eazi is different, and no it is not because he is a rarity, a Ghana-Naija pop hybrid.

Beyond the steady supply of hits, performing to large audiences outside of Nigeria and performing on a late-night show in America, the singer Oluwatosin Ajibade doubles as a music business exec pushing Afrobeats to the world.

Most of his contemporaries have their eyes locked on securing the new bag, but Eazi wants to be the person making the bag.

On a hot afternoon in July, I ask Mr Eazi why he is angling himself as a music tycoon and not just an artist out of West Africa riding on the wave of Afrobeats in Europe and North America.

"It's from the background I've come from," says Eazi, "I remember the first time I was at Pulse, it was for a business. I had gotten funding for a business, and I was trying to push the business, so that's what I am."

Fate would have bigger plans for Oluwatosin Ajibade, more than just selling phones. During the period when he was the CEO of Phone Trader NG, he recorded and released the sultry single 'Skin Tight' featuring Efya.

The record took off, and now Eazi is selling music and not phones. "Music just happens to be the product I'm selling now" he admits. With his background in business (promoting parties, booking acts for shows and selling phones), music is more than an artistic endeavour, it is a hustle.

"Of course, I have to merge (both worlds). If I were just doing music, just singing and touring, I would have been bored out of my head. This is just me doing me" he confesses.

And what Mr Eazi is doing is helping upcoming music acts in Africa become successful on their own terms via his incubator program known as emPawa.

The talent incubation initiative was launched in January 2019. And in its first phase, 100 selected acts received $3,000 each to produce a music video.

A notable beneficiary of emPawa is JoeBoy, a 21-year-old singer whose single 'Baby' is one of the biggest hit records out of Nigeria in 2019.

"They (emPawa) helped with knowledge, platform, and how we can promote our music through our phones - like the easiest way through social media; how to promote yourself...it actually really helped and they're still supporting with knowledge, back up and connect" JoeBoy told Pulse in an exclusive interview in July.

"The emPawa project is the happiest thing that I've been involved in this year. And now we're getting partners. It just motivates me, the more" says Mr Eazi.

The partner he is speaking about is YouTube Music. In July, YouTube's Global Head of Music, Lyor Cohen, during a fireside chat with Mr Eazi at Google for Nigeria Week announced the partnership.

Most notably, YouTube Music will partner with the initiative "to provide support for the 10 Nigerian artists" involved in #emPawa30.

"I like the fact that he is having the imagination to create excitement around him and help bring new artists, that's entrepreneurial. He's not satisfied just with himself, but he wants to create an organization that helps bring new artists that's what attracted us to him" says Cohen about Mr Eazi.

This marks the second time Eazi and YouTube would be working together. The first time was during the UK launch of his third mixtape 'Life is Eazi, Vol. 2 - Lagos to London.'

"I'm building an ecosystem within Africa where you do not need to even go out" states the singer.

He further says "if there's no ecosystem, someone will build the ecosystem at a cost and sell it to us back at a premium. And I wouldn't like that. I would like to build that ecosystem. And of course, it will be fairer, you know, 10% 15% 20% 5%, whatever it is. And it will be authentic, which is like, most important."

For someone who has a tangible fan base outside of Africa, Mr Eazi wants to create an ecosystem where artists don't necessarily have to go abroad to be successful. He is also keen on Africans owning the Afrobeats narrative as the West continues its gold rush for West African pop music.

Mr Eazi strikes me as someone who can head a music label pretty soon. "Definitely like why not?" he says on the possibility of switching to a full-time executive.

2019 has been a busy year for Mr Eazi, whether overseeing emPawa, touring overseas or globetrotting with his billionaire heiress girlfriend, or recording more songs, he has had little time to meet one of his idols JAY-Z.

"My manager, my stylist, my DJ, my producer were like hanging out with Jay Z having dinner. I was pissed because I was in New York and I didn't even know. I remember my producer calling me and I was recording" he reveals.

Mr Eazi is on Beyonce's 'Lion King: The Gift' album, but he is not stopping at that. He is on a mission to push Afrobeats to a global audience and carry others along.

He borrows a JAY-Z line as his mantra "go harder, go further. If not, why bother?"

Police Take Hold Of Pastor Fatoyinbo’s Passport

Posted: 30 Aug 2019 07:00 AM PDT

An update on the arrest of COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo's, reveals that Detectives from the Force Criminal Investigation Department(FCID), Abuja, investigating the alleged rape against pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo on Wednesday, August 28 conducted a search on the residence and office of the embattled pastor in Abuja.

According to a report by Daily Sun, the police also seized the passport of Fatoyinbo, as part of the bail conditions granted to the pastor. Fatoyinbo was also made to provide two level 16 officers with landed property in Abuja, before he was allowed to be taken on bail.

He was however told to be reporting to the FCID on a daily basis until investigation is concluded. The COZA pastor who attended another round of interrogation Wednesday, has since been released to go home. A source told Daily Sun that part of the investigation that took place on Wednesday was a search on the home of the pastor and his office by detectives.

According to source, "the home of the pastor and his office were searched today by detectives investigating the matter, but I cannot tell you what they found, but defiantly they were looking for incriminating documents and other evidences that was revealed by witnesses during the discreet investigation conducted in the matter.

"Also part of the bail conditions given to pastor Fatoyinbo is that he provides two level 16 officers who have landed property in Abuja, and that his international passport to be deposited with the police which he has done".

Gedoni denies having sex with Khafi while Jackye speaks on her plan after Big Brother Naija

Posted: 30 Aug 2019 06:30 AM PDT

The latest Big Brother Naija evictees Gedoni and Jackye visited Pulse Nigeria on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, and they spoke about their experience staying in the house.

One of the highlights of Big Brother Naija 2019 has been the relationship with Gedoni and Khafi. It was only natural that we asked Gedoni about his love affair with her.

During an exclusive interview with ex-BB Naija 2019 housemate Thelma, she claimed Gedoni and Khafi were having sex in the house. Gedoni denied this claim during his interview, "It's her words against ours" he said.

Jackye didn't comment on the issue when she was asked. "(laughs) I don't know...I don't know...I don't know," she said.

Khafi wasn't Gedoni's only love interest. Former contestant KimOprah used to date Gedoni before taking part in Nigeria's biggest reality TV show.

During his interview, he tells Pulse why they weren't close in the house. "She had a strategy, she had a team and Gedoni was not part of that strategy" he states.

When Gedoni was evicted he was visibly happy which surprised millions of viewers of the show.

"That was the first time I was in one place with many people and so now my personal space was being affected and I was battling with mental pressure… So it took the people with a lot of positive energy to put me through the journey. I was relieved not because I was excited, I was not excited, I was relieved" explains Gedoni on his celebration after being evicted.

And what has been the reaction from people since he left the reality show? "Its been okay, positive energy and of course negative ones too but trying to manage it. For me, it takes getting used to, it is not something I really completely expected" shares Gedoni.

For Jackye she didn't anticipate all the love she has gotten from being on the reality TV show.

"I didn't expect so much love, I'm enjoying the love and focusing on the positive part of it and the future. For me, the experience is the best teacher, I have just been out of the house for 48 hours I think, so I'm still soaking it all in" she says.

Now that they are out of the show, Gedoni plans to expand his fashion designing business and hopefully if he gets a script, he won't mind joining Nollywood.

"I had my business running, that's the clothing design thing before I went into the house. I'm going back to the drawing board to put out collections. There are two collections I plan to put out, the Gentleman and the Duke collections, so look out for that and ill be trying some acting but I'm sure I'll do voice-overs," he said.

Jackye wants to go back to her tech world where she plans to develop an app which will be used to helping people in the diaspora send money back home.

Posted: 30 Aug 2019 05:30 AM PDT

Jaiye Kuti's protege, 'Deola Layade has told the story of a cheating husband in a new short film, 'Labyrinth'.

'Labyrinth' sees 'Deola Layade telling the story of a cheating husband, who is expecting a baby out of wedlock.

Layade, the actress, who made headway after appearing in 'Family First' featuring jaiye Kuti and Lanre Balogun has completed work on her debut production as a producer, 'Labyrinth'.

Layade's new effort is coming after featuring in five movies and few TV series under the stable of Rare Edge productions including Bimbo Oshin's 'Eyitayo'.

Labyrinth, which features 'Deola Layade, Asa'ah Samuel, and Folawewo Aiyegbusi tells the story of Deyemi, a mild-mannered family man, who is stuck in a confusing time loop with different queer resolutions as he struggles to confess to his loving wife, Dedunke, that he's about to have a baby out of wedlock with Nkechi.

The intrigue of how Deyemi and Dedunke lived with the reality that Nkechi has become part of their new family was cleverly written by Isaac Ayodeji and directed by Adebola Ogunshina.

With support from Rare Edge productions and moral support from Bimbo Oshin, Layade said 'Labyrinth' is made for the festivals. The first time producer says she is confident of the success judging by the hard work being put together by the crew of director, script writer and others who featured in the movie.

A recent private screening of 'Labyrinth' was attended by Jaiye Kuti, Adeleye Fabusoro, Olajide Mosunro, Ayodeji Alayande, Prince Damola Layade, Femi Bucknor Arigbide, Funmi Cole, and Damilola Oladehin.

American music superstar and talented dancer, Chris Brown has shocked every music follower who takes to social media after his latest action on his Instagram page.

The singer who is currently making preparations to kick-start his 2019 tour, Indigo Tour, yesterday unfollowed every person he used to follow on his Instagram.

There was a time news even spread across American social media when just fews days ago, Breezy unfollowed some his American music colleagues (the likes of Drake, Nicki Minaj and a lot more), and this made so many people think there might have been an unsettled difference that has risen between himself and these guys.

However, thoughts changed when Chris Brown cleared the whole of his Instagram followers, making people believe it could be solely as a result of some personal or strategic reasons.

The exact reason Breezy had done this is yet known, but we admonish you to hang around for updates in case he discloses any.

Juliet Ibrahim – "I Want To Date Chris Brown"
Juliet Ibrahim wants to date Chris Brown but has no plans to do it according to her recent revelation about her personal life during a chat with LITV.

She opened up that she has slid into his DMs many times but he won't just respond to her messages.

The actress who recently launched her new book, A Toast to Life, said she's had some bad relationships which she spoke about in her book. One of those bad relationships was with an "entertainer".

She added that she's also had some good ones but isn't in a relationship at the moment.

She went on to reveal what she desires in a man. According to her, she wants a man who is honest and blunt.

"I don't look for things in people. I don't try to have expectations," she told LITV. "But I know that if I meet someone and he's honest enough and that spark is there… that's what I look for. I like honesty. I like people who are blunt, from the beginning you just pour it all out."

She also opened up about the crush she has on Chris Brown and what she's doing about it.

She said: "I want to date Chris Brown."

She added: "I don't know, I like him. I have a crush on him."

She continued jokingly in pidgin: "Why do you want to know my secret? The DMs upon DMs that I don send, e no dey read am."

Getting serious, she said: "I think if I want to meet him, it's very easy. I know people that know him sort of. But, I just have a crush on him, so it's not like… But if he comes, we'll go on that date oh."

Bobrisky slams the DG of NCAC for calling him a national disgrace

Posted: 30 Aug 2019 02:30 AM PDT

Bobrisky has replied Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, who last week, said he is a National disgrace and will soon be dealt with by the government if caught on the street.

"Bobrisky is a national disgrace. He started by selling and using bleaching creams, now, he has grown boobs, bums and hips. If a Bobrisky is doing well with his immoral lifestyle, how do you convince Nigerian youths to do the right thing? Bobrisky has the right, but not within the Nigerian environment.

There are others like him, but they live outside the country. If we don't address Bobrisky as early as possible, he will form a team that will spread like wildfire. This will result in a lot of suicide cases, because the typical Nigerian parent would not want to see their child become a Bobrisky" Runsewe said in an interview

Well, Bobrisky appears not to be taking Runsewe's comment lying low as he has fired back at him. In a post shared on Instagram, Bobrisky stated that he is 'waiting' for Runsewe.

"I heard someone in the Govt talked about me few days ago. Pls tell him am waiting for him. Is then he will know I roll with his boss in the government and not someone in his level. So he left other serious issue in Nigeria to address Bobrisky. But I am popular sha".
