Posted: 30 Sep 2019 08:35 AM PDT Mandatory Orientations Occur Next Week! go.umd.edu/ifad Intern for a Day connects undergraduate UMD students with alumni, parents, employers and community partners for one day job shadowing experiences. The list of Fall 2019 Intern for a Day Hosts is Available Here! In order to receive an application to participate in Intern for a Day, students must attend an informative, 30-minute orientation session that will cover the application process, how students will be matched with a host, best practices when shadowing the host on-site and how to show appreciation to the host after the experience. Fall 2019 Intern for a Day Orientation Dates (Total of 7 Sessions Available): All orientations take place in the University Career Center & The President's Promise 3100 Hornbake Library, South Wing Please RSVP for the session that works best with your schedule. You will be redirected to Careers4Terps when clicking on the link below. Monday, October 7, 12-12:30pm Tuesday, October 8, 12-12:30pm Wednesday, October 9, 12-12:30pm Wednesday, October 9, 4-4:30pm Thursday, October 10, 12-12:30pm Thursday, October 10, 4-4:30pm Friday, October 11, 10-10:30am Students will receive the application after attending one of the orientation sessions above. Applications will be due Sunday, October 13 at 11:59pm. The majority of questions about Intern for a Day's process and structure will be addressed during the mandatory orientation session. For other questions or concerns, please email ifad@umd.edu. Students who have already participated in Intern for a Day still need to attend one orientation session. |
Applied Economics Career & Networking Fair Posted: 30 Sep 2019 12:00 PM PDT Connects students with UMD alumni and employers working in the areas of applied economics research, policy analysis, financial services, and consulting with federal government and private sector organizations throughout the DC Metro area. When: Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm Where: Adele H. Stamp Student Union, Colony Ballroom Don't miss this amazing opportunity to gain tips from over 25 UMD alumni and employers working in the field of economics to learn about career options and identify job and internship leads. Participating Organizations Limited spots are available so RSVP today! Current UMD Master of Science in Applied Economics students and sophomore, junior, and senior level UMD Economics majors are strongly encouraged to attend!! Light refreshments will be available. Free parking is available after 4 p.m. in Regents Garage. Review the map to campus to plan your visit. Attend the Networking & Resume Tips for the Applied Economics Fair prep session, led by Fannie Mae, to gain networking tips and learn more about the format of the Fair. Tips: Review these tips, prior to attending the event! Schedule an appointment with the University Career Center to get help preparing. Business casual attire recommended. |
