Yung6ix Threatens To Sue After being Wrongfully Accused of Theft By Jewelry Store In The US

Following the recent false arrest and detainment of a young Nigerian musician, Yung6ix, the musician has vowed to sue Kay's Jewelers, a jewelry store in the US for masterminding his unlawful detention.

He disclosed this in his recent Instagram video. In his words, "was wrongfully accused by Kay's Jewelers. Spent the last few hours wondering if I was gonna be another innocent black man getting f-k by the system. I'm going to be pressing charges for racial profiling #blacklivesmatter"

He further mentioned that he was apprehended by the police and was only released after going through the process of racial profiling.

He captioned the post;


"Was wrongfully accused by kays jewelers. Spent the last few hours wondering if I was gonna be another innocent black man getting f—k by the system. I'm going to be pressing charges for racial profiling #blacklivesmatter. Jealous out 27th shout to all my J.D's and everyone who supported my release today."

Don Jazzy – ‘I have over 35 staff and I have never owed salary for the past 7 years’

Nigerian music business mogul, Don Jazzy in post he shared on his Twitter page, hinted on the way he treats his employees.

The Mavin boss while dismissing claims that people in the entertainment industry are not serious, revealed how he treats the members of staff under his employment.

Don Jazzy said he has over 35 employers working for him, and in the seven years of operating his business, he has never had any reason to owe them their salaries.
 
Speaking via his Twitter handle, Don Jazzy added that not all companies can come out to say such.

"No be say na mouth. I keep hearing entertainers are not serious blah blah blah. I can proudly say I have over 35 staffs and for 7 years of MAVIN. I never owe salary. Not all your serious companies can say that sha.", he tweeted

Akon Signs Olamide Baddo To Konvict Music Worldwide

US Senegalese singer, Akon has revealed that he has signed Olamide to Konvict Music Worldwide.

He made this known during an interview on the Breakfast Club. According to him, they have already began working together.

Akon stated this after he revealed that Nigerian music artistes don't honor record deals. According to him, what is done in Nigeria is just a gentleman's agreement with no papers signed.

He also revealed that he once signed Wizkid and Davido, but due to the way Nigerian artiste honor deals, nothing much could be gotten out of their agreement.

The revelation by Akon is yet to be confirmed by Olamide who has his own record label named YBNL Records.

Bobrisky reacts to protest staged by youths in Abuja

Controversial cross dresser, Idris Okunneye, popularly known as Bobrisky has now reacted to the staged protest by youths in Abuja.

Recall that Nigerian youths numbering over 500 took to the streets in Abuja to protest against what they described as moral decadence of Bobrisky.

In a post recently shared on his social media page, Bobrisky captioned, "I come in peace. Still glowing in the dark," a fan dropped a comment that got him to react to the anti-Bobrisky protest in Abuja.

Moving on from the drama she has going on with fellow actress Lizzy Anjorin, new mum Toyin Abraham has just released some new family portraits of her husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi and son, Ire.

Lizzy Anjorin has insisted on her claim that Toyin Abraham welcomed her son with Kolawole Ajeyemi at a traditional center, not in a hospital in Lagos.

This was after Toyin Abraham shared a video to prove that she really gave birth in a hospital in Lagos.

According to her, she had traveled to London to deliver the baby but changed her mind because she wanted to deliver the baby around people she could trust.

"Because I trust you people, I decided to have my baby in Nigeria. I actually travelled but I came back. I said I am coming back, let me have my baby in Nigeria because I want to be around everybody" she said.

PH-Murder: Two arrested over murder of young girls in Port Harcourt hotel

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspects linked the murder of two young girls at a hotel in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Dandaura who gave an update on police effort to address the killings which led to an outcry of a serial killer being on the loose, said an agreement was reached with hotel owners and managers some weeks ago over a compulsory installation of CCTV cameras.

The Police boss said any hotel that fails to comply with the directive will be shut down at the end of the ultimatum. Expressing shock that some hotel owners are yet to comply with the directive, Dandaura revealed that eight young women had been murdered in the state by suspected ritual killers in the past two months and each victim always had white clothes strapped around their necks and waists.

The Commissioner of Police added that one of the suspects was arrested in Kaduna after a young lady reported that he was trying to lure her to a hotel with a promise of paying her N30,000.

He said, "So far, we have made substantial progress in the investigation of these killings. In one of the cases, the actual murder suspect has been arrested and he is making useful confessions. He would have been paraded today (Tuesday), but we are still working on some clues given by him that may aid our investigation.

"Regrettably, it has come to my notice that some hotels have yet to comply with my directive on CCTV camera, hence my order to arrest the managers, receptionists and desk officers in two hotels, where two separate murders were recorded.

"They will be investigated and if found culpable, charged with culpable homicide. Today, I want to reinforce our commitment to tackling the menace and assure you that we have come to the end of this monstrous act by desperate cultists and ritualists."

Asides pleading with hotel owners not to accept guests on short stay as against a day or more which is the standard in many hotels, Dandaura also listed confirmation of guests' phone numbers, identity cards and the registration of visitors by hotel managers as other check-in and check-out procedures to tackle the hotel killings.

Just when we thought we were done with the Toyin Abraham and Lizzy Anjorin drama, another Nollywood drama brews up!

Actress Shan George has just laid curses on actor Femi Branch over an Instagram post.

It all started a few weeks ago, when the actress went through a successful spine surgery in Abuja, after battling an ailment for months.

Branch who is also a member of the AGN took to his Instagram page to share a picture of the executives handing over an envelope to Shan George and he captioned; "God bless the &actorsguildnigeria for coming to the side of our dear colleague and friend @shangeorge as she recovers from her back surgery"

Reacting in the comment section George said: " They didn't come to my aid sir, I'm not crying for any aid/help, It was just a show of love from the AGN president towards a colleague @chief_femibranch I know say you hate me but this is more than low. Aid ko Babiala ni, you either correct this wrong impression or just kuku delete this post. Thank You"

The actress also took to the AGN group chat to blast the actor, while also cursing him.

Don Jazzy Reacts To CBN’s Charge On Deposits, Withdrawals Above N500,000

Following the Central Bank of Nigeria's (CBN) recent announcement that the full implementation of the cashless policy will become effective from March 31, 2020, Nigerians have been reacting.

According to the circular, the charges, which takes effect from today, would attract three per cent processing fees for withdrawals and two per cent processing fees for lodgements of amounts above N500,000 for individual accounts.

In the circular titled: "Re: Implementation of the Cashless Policy," that was addressed to all banks, it announced the commencement of charges on deposits in addition to already existing charges on withdrawals.

Nigerian celebrity, Don Jazzy is not happy with the news as he has taken to Twitter to react.

Don Jazzy wrote, 'my dear the whole thing just reeks of a desperate move to generate revenue. When they load their own stolen money in the bank, they don't care whatever charges they have to pay'.

25 LAUTECH students arrested for Internet Fraud by the EFCC

25 students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomosho, Oyo State have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over their alleged involvement in cybercrime including romance scam, love scam, possession of forged documents and obtaining money by false pretence.

The arrested students said to be between the ages of 18-29 were identified as Pelumi Adigun, 18; Umaru Frederick, 21; Damilola Emmanuel, 22; Tomiwa Oyewole, 29; Adeleke Owolabi, 24; Oladosu Abdullahi, 23; Abdulmusaq Ismail, 25; Isajimi Joshua, 23; Olaniyan Tunde, 22, and Ebosele Francis, 28.

Others are: Oladejo Ibrahim, 26; Oluwadamilare Abimbola, 25; Orimoloye Joshua, 23; Alfred Samuel, 22; Bayewu Ishola, 23; Abiola Gbenga, 25; Alfred Daniel, 20; Agboola Solomon, 21; Arolewola Damilola, 25; Amoo Tunmise, 23; Akeem Taiwo, 25; Segun Ajibola, 25; Hassan Segun, 24; Onicha Joel, 23, and Tafa Basit, 25.

The students' arrest which was effected in a three-day raid carried out between September 16 and 19, came after Ismail snitched them out. It was gathered that Ismail who confessed to his involved in internet fraud took the EFCC operatives round the hostel, leading to the arrest of many.

EFCC's statement reads in part;

The students, who are aged between 18 and 29 years old, were arrested at their off-campus hostels, following a three-day raid carried out between September 16 and 19, 2019. Operatives acted on the intelligence report, which was investigated using sophisticated equipment. The raid also followed months of surveillance and monitoring of their activities.

In the course of executing the search, Ismail, who confessed to being involved in internet fraud, took operatives round hostels, leading to the arrest of many of the culprits. Some of the suspects who jumped over the fence to escape arrest were nabbed in the process.

Some of the items recovered from them, which are believed to be the proceeds of their illegal activities online, include, a 4matic Benz, a Toyota Camry, a Toyota Corolla, two Macbook computers, two iPads, two iPhones and many other documents, which will be subjected to forensic analysis.

The suspected internet fraudsters, who are currently in the custody of the EFCC will be soon be arraigned in court.

Babes Wodumo cancelled from Zimbabwe’s festival line-up over “Xenophobic tweets”

Babes Wodumo got cancelled from a festival's line-up in Zimbabwe because of her Xenophobic comments shared on Twitter weeks ago.

Social media was hot and full of war few weeks ago due to the Xenophobic attack in South Africa.

The gqom singer reacted to the attack and it attracted serious rage on her.

She said that Nigerians were to blame for the drug scourge in SA and Zimbabweans were stealing RDP houses meant for South Africans.

However, Babes voiced out that her Twitter account has been hacked and she's in no support of Xenophobia.

To ensure her safety, the organizers of the Zimbabwe festival cancelled her off the line-up.

Speaking to TshishaLIVE, the festival's founder and operations director, Patrick Mhofu Musonza confirmed the news.

"We wanted Babes to perform but after that tweet, the people who are going to the festival are after her head. Once she arrives in Zimbabwe, her safety is our concern. So it is mainly because of her safety and security concerns (that we have cancelled her performance)."

"These are all red flags for us. She is claiming to be hacked but people are not buying that. We do not know whether she was hacked or not but if she is claiming she is hacked, we have to believe her."

Babes team and the festival organizers are yet to come to a resolution since the tweet went viral.

"They have sent us screenshots of the hackers apparently apologising but who hacks and then apologises?"

The organizers promised to replace Babes Wodumo with another major act.

Ycee Calls Out Former Record Label, says CEO Profits Off Of Other People’s Sweat

Nigerian rapper, Ycee has called out the owner of his former record label, Tinny Entertainment for refusing to acknowledge or pay his artists both past and present, even after continually generating funds from their work.

This is coming after Tinny Entertainment celebrated a milestone of 100 million streams on various music platforms.

Ycee earlier announced his exit from Tinny entertainment after floating his own record label "ANTB" at the beginning of the year.

He wrote:

Before I start I would first like to apologize to everyone of you all that I hold in high regard because I've tried my possible best to not let my social media be used as a point of negativity or conflict but I've been left with no choice

So the CEO of TINNY ENTERTAINMENT took to his Instagram page yesterday to show gratitude for 100million plus streams (across all platforms) and this was brought to my attention which left me confused because the post as seen above was accompanied with the caption "Grateful" and the handle of the label and no mention of the artistes whose content generated those streams.

LET IT BE KNOWN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT NOT A SINGLE DIME GENERATED FROM THOSE STREAMS GOT INTO THE POCKET OF ANY OF THE ARTISTES RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTENT THAT GENERATED THOSE STREAMS AND TO ALL THAT HAVE MADE CONGRATULATORY COMMENTS ON THE POST, THE ONLY THING THE CEO IS GRATEFUL FOR IS THE FACT THAT HE HAS YET AGAIN, SEEMINGLY GOTTEN AWAY WITH PROFITING OFF OF OTHER PEOPLES SWEAT (like he has been well known to do so many times in the past)

I have been silent as I have quietly been focused on rebuilding my life and career and also out of respect to my previous employer but he in turn has not accorded me that same respect.

Actions ranging from attacks on my reputation by spreading falsities about me, saying I betrayed him by leaving his label (knowing fully well the terms on which our business relationship ended) to leaking my music which he absolutely has zero rights to release but unfortunately happens to possess in order to delay and destabilize my debut album release.

Recall some time last week, the Assurance crooner finally gave his love interest the assurance he had promised her by proposing to her.

Toyin Abraham responds to Liz Anjorin’s claim she had her baby in a traditional birth center

Toyin Abraham wants everyone to know that she welcomed her son in a hospital in Lagos, dispelling the claims that she had him in a 'traditional home.'

The Nollywood actress revealed this in a video while trying to debunk the claims by fellow actress, Liz Anjorin who insists that the baby was born in a traditional home. Liz had in one of her numerous attacks on Toyin, said that she gave birth to her child in a traditional home.

However, there had been speculations that Toyin Abraham had welcomed her child in the United States. In the newly shared video, the actress said she returned to Nigeria to give birth to the child because she wanted to be close to family.

"Because I trust you people, I decided to have my baby in Nigeria. I actually travelled but I came back. I said I am coming back, let me have my baby in Nigeria because I want to be around everybody" she said.

Blaqbonez takes to the street to evangelize the gospel of rap music, says it is back

Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has started what may soon become popular in the Nigerian music industry.

The rapper took to the streets to create awareness about his brand, declaring himself as the best in Africa.

The rapper had claimed the title Best Rapper in Africa with his recently released diss track.


In a video posted on his Instagram page, Blaqbonez was seen on the street with a megaphone saying he had come to save the rap genre and will not let it die on his watch.


He went as far as the third mainland bridge to speak to the fishes in the sea to the amazement of bystanders.

He said: "My name is Blaqbonez and I'm here to save the rap genre. I'm the best rapper in Africa, tell your kids tell everybody. The rap genre is not going to die on my watch; rap music is back."

Blaqbonez, who is signed to Warner Music Group African partner, Chocolate City, said he took to the streets after his label said he was only popping online.
