12 fans arrested after opening DJ Arafat’s coffin

12 people - suspected to be fans- have been arrested in connection with the opening of late DJ Arafat's coffin.

After opening the coffin where DJ Arafat was buried to confirm he was truly dead, 12 people - suspected to be fans - have been arrested by the police.
According to the BBC, the arrest was made on Monday, September 2, 2019, 48 hours after the incident.

On Saturday, August 31, 2019, fans of the late DJ Arafat besieged his grave to open the coffin he was buried in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The fans, who swarm around the graveyard, opened the coffin to take photos of the corpse. They also tried touching his body to confirm it's their music idol.

This commotion prompted the Ivorien police to fire teargas to disperse the huge crowd.

After a private family burial at the Williamsville cemetery in Abidjan's working-class Adjame district, events took a dark turn as fans battled police preventing them from entering the cemetery.

However, several of the fans made it into the cemetery after which they forced open the fresh grave and coffin.

The coffin opening came after an overnight funeral concert where tens of thousands of Ivorians and citizens of neighbouring African countries paid tribute to the late Arafat.

Throughout the night, A-list African stars such as Davido, Sidiki Diabate, Fally Ipupa and Serge Beynaud had sung in memory of DJ Arafat, who died aged 33 on August 12, 2019, after a motorbike crash in Abidjan.

On Saturday morning, August 31, 2019, before the private burial, DJ Arafat's casket was placed at the centre of the 35,000-capacity Felix Houphouet-Boigny stadium in Abidjan, drawing wild applause before the mood turned sad and many of his fans burst into tears.

Newly evicted housemate, Esther would definitely be smiling to the bank soon as popular sex therapist, Jaruma has gifted her a whooping Five Hundred Thousand Naira.

Prior to Esther's eviction, a lady identified as Damilola reached out to Jaruma claiming to be Esther's friend. From the screenshots Jaruma shared, it could be seen that the lady had reached out to her in the hopes of seeking help.


Even though Jaruma couldn't fulfil her dreams of supporting Esther in the house, she has gone on to pledge her support for the growth of her brand outside the house.


Esther was voted out of the BBNaija house alongside Sir Dee during the Sunday live eviction show hosted by Ebuka. Immediately they were announced as the housemates leaving the house, Frodd and Diane broke down into uncontrollable tears.

Rapper, Olamide's DM on instagram was filled with love texts from male admirers that are presumed to have been attracted to the recent videos he is reposting on husband page to promote his song, "Pawon".

Nollywoodtimes.com reports that YBNL boss, Olamide has been reposting some sexually explicit videos of ladies twerking to his new song, "Pawon", which has glued male admirers to his social media page.

Due to this, guys have been sliding to his dm, thinking a female owns the account. The "Woske" singer took to his Instagram page to inform his new male followers that have been sending "love messages" like "hey boo" and "I love you" not be misguided about his gender.

Calling them some derogatory names, he revealed that he is only trying to promote his new track "Pawon" and told them to shoot their shots elsewhere.

Mikel Obi’s and girlfriend, Olga fight over his move to Turkey

Mikel Obi's girlfriend threatened to end her relationship with him because he is planning a move to Trabzonspor this summer.

The girlfriend, Olga Diyachenko, who is also the mother of his twins reportedly threatened Mikel Obi that she will no longer come to Turkey to visit him with her children.

The report added that Olga is not happy with the 32-year-old after he left England for Turkey, adding that the pair relationship has gone sour.


Mikel and Olga have two twin daughters, Ava and Mia.

"I can confirm to you that all is not seemingly fine with them. Olga doesn't like the city and has taken the children back to their base," the newspaper quoted a source as saying.

"In fact, she warned him against the move to Turkey but he convinced her about it. Now she came visiting and doesn't like it; the kids do not also like it there in Turkey which could now be a problem for Mikel.

"Now Olga has told Mikel that she won't return to visit him again which means he won't also see the kids, leaving Mikel with only the chance of seeing his family in December during the Christmas break, a decision which I understand has left him sad and may unsettle him."

Kevin Hart Suffers ‘Major Injuries’ In Horror Crash

Kevin Hart is receiving medical attention after he was left injured from a horror crash of his vintage muscle car in the hills above Malibu.

According to TMZ, the car smashed through wooden fencing along the roadside, with the vehicle's roof being crushed by the impact.

According to the press release, "Two of the three occupants were trapped in the vehicle. The remaining occupant and owner of the vehicle, Kevin Hart, left the scene to his nearby residence to get medical attention."


The report says Hart and the driver, 28-year-old Jared Black, both suffered "major back injuries" and were taken to hospitals, while another passenger, 31-year-old Rebecca Broxterman, only complained of pain.

TMZ is also reporting that fire department were forced to saw off the top of the car in order to free the trapped driver and female passenger.

Xenophobia: Atiku, Shehu Sani Reacts To Attacks On Nigerians, Condemn Act, Urge Buhari To Take Action

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice-President of Nigeria, has called on the Nigerian Government to take urgent steps in responding to xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa.

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2019 election, in a tweet on Monday, said, "Reported attacks against Nigerians in South Africa is unacceptable and stands condemned.

"Urgent steps need to be taken with the SA authorities and the African Union to bring an end to this ill wind that can only end up destroying the fabric of our African brotherhood."

In the same vien, former lawmaker, Shehu Sani, while reacting to the development, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to confront the 'bully' in South Africa with "barking" approach.

In a post on Twitter, he said, "Sometimes our response to xenophobia is that of turning the other cheek and sometimes that of playing the barking dog in the face of a bully."

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said legal access must be granted to victims of xenophobic attacks at the African Court to ensure justice is served.

She said, "On the killings in South Africa, Nigeria through the Minister of Foreign Affairs must make a declaration to allow the government and dependents of the deceased to access the African Court on Human and Peoples Rights."

Nollywood Actress Sonia Ogiri shares bitter experience with Mercy Johnson

Sonia Ogiri in an Instagram post she titled 'healing process', shared her bitter experience with Mercy Johnson who she accused of hating her for no reason.

The mother of one said her journey into Nollywood began after her marriage to her ex-husband crashed. Recounting how she met A-list stars on debut movie, Sonia said it was all good till she met Mercy Johnson.

According to her, Mercy Johnson did mean things to her including refusing to ride in the same car with her for no reason.

She further claimed that the Kogi born actress asked movie crew members and her friends not to talk to her on set, passed snide comments when she was acting and also told movie producers not to give her movie roles.

A maelstrom scene was witnessed on Saturday August 31 at the International Pentecostal Holiness Church in Benin City, as a jilted lady stormed the wedding venue of her ex-lover she reportedly dated for 7 years.

The angry lady who learnt of the wedding ceremony of the groom identified as Dele and his bride Blessing via Facebook, demanded that the wedding be called off after turning up at event.

Eyewitnesses claimed she arrived the church with some hefty-looking men in an Audi car at about 6.30am, waited patiently till the wedding ceremony began by 12pm, before disrupting the event after the Pastor asked if anyone is against 'the joining of the couple as husband and wife'.

The light-skinned lady allegedly shocked everyone with her tumultuous 'No'. She went on to narrate how Dele proposed to her in their 7 years of courtship in which no child was born and subsequently dumped her.

"He (Dele) no longer picked my calls. He abandoned me. Why? What did I do to you?" she said.

The bride who couldn't take the sad twist of event at her wedding reportedly collapsed on her seat. Dele on the other hand broke down in tears while his best man wiped his tears with a handkerchief. The best man was also heard saying;

"Dele attended the enraged woman's birthday party just a few weeks ago. It will surprise you to know that Dele was still going to see that girl at home. Why will you do such such thing when your wedding is around the corner?"

Girl smashes her birthday cake on her mother’s face

A video of a little girl smashing her birthday cake into her mother's face in revenge has shocked Twitter users.

In the video, a girl is seen standing in front of a room while a woman believed to be her mother and others in the room sang her a birthday song.

Just as she was about to blow out the candles on her cake, the woman jokingly smashed the cake into her face. And the girl turned around with such force and did the same to the woman.


While some Twitter users have said it was obviously a joke and the mother had no problem with it, a number of Twitter users are in shock and have condemned the girl's action as disrespectful.

Man who rapped a 14-years praises himself after successfully carying out the act

A 32-year-old man, Nura Abdullahi, who raped a 14-year-old girl in Suleja, Niger State, has hailed himself for a mission accomplished.

While being paraded by the police, Nura revealed that he had been setting trap for the victim for a long time and that he was happy for the successful mission. .

"I have been waiting for a day like this and I am happy that I set traps for her several times and at last, she fell into the trap and I have accomplished the mission of having sex with her. .

With the accomplished mission, I am ready for the consequence; let the law take its course on me; I am a happy man already," he declared.

The suspect was said to have lured the victim into his room, camped her overnight during which he had forceful and marathon sex with her. There had been series of similar complaints against the suspect before nemesis eventually caught up with him.

2face Idibia has called out Nigerian IG celebrity, Hushpuppi for attacking Nigerian celebrities who are yet to speak up against the recent Xenophobic attacks against Nigerians and other Foreign Nationals in South Africa.

In a post shared on his IG page, Hushpuppi blasted Nigerian celebrities for not speaking up against the recent attacks.


His post read

"After you all will want to post them and claim they are your besties, FUCK ALL MY SOUTH AFRICAN FRIENDS THAT DONT SEE THIS AS A PROBLEM AND FUCK YOU NIGERIAN CELEBRITIES THAT DONT SEE THIS AS A PROBLEM ENOUGH TO SPEAK ABOUT TILL NOW"

2Face was apparently displeased by Hushpuppi's post attacking Nigerian celebrities and reacted. In a comment he left under Hushpuppi's post, 2face wrote

"Dear @hushpuppi this is absolutely uncalled for. There's a real sad problem here. Its a good thing for you to speak about it but don't start turning celebrities to being the problem cos they are not. If u want 2 fight for your people its fine.
