Sharing the same toothbrush with someone else is a very bad idea

Posted: 08 Sep 2019 12:00 AM PDT

Maybe there are a few times when it's okay to not love your neighbour enough to share with them.

There's love in sharing. But there are times when that love can get you into real trouble.

When it comes to sharing some personal items with someone else, maybe you should think about it for a minute before you say Yes, because No is what you should really say.

Other than secrets, here are nine other things you should never share with ANYONE!

1. Bar soaps

No one ever thinks sharing a bar soap with someone who's too lazy to run out and get one for themself is dangerous because soaps are supposed to clean themselves, right?

Except they really don't.

The accumulation of fungi, bacteria and possibly yeast on bar soaps counters the myth that they self-clean and are totally safe to share with others.

Bar soaps have no problem with retaining organisms from your skin, like pathogens that could cause infections and illnesses when you share with others.

2. Towels
This is an obvious one, but it seems to be common practice nonetheless.

Other than for the very obvious reason that sharing towels with anyone is just achingly gross, it could get you infected with bacteria and fungus because towels are a breeding ground for germs.

3. Toothbrush
Again, hard to understand why anyone wants to share a toothbrush seeing as it goes into one of your most very private parts, but it happens quite a lot.

The bristles on toothbrushes retain bacteria, and crossbreeding your own bacteria with someone else's could lead to the births of very unfortunate, but probably well-deserved, pathogens that can result in common cold or strep.

In the case of the occasional bleeding gum, this could get very worse very fast than anyone is willing to give it credit for.

The health industry is either trying to save you from a lot of trouble, or it is trying to sell loads more of toothbrushes.

4. Earrings
With their sharp ends, earrings are prone to the occasional pricks of the skin and can very easily transfer any sort of blood-borne disease you can imagine if two people share it indiscriminately.

Yes, you might want to occasionally flaunt with your friend's earring that you have refused to buy for yourself, but is the slay worth it?

5. Hairbrush or comb
If you want the impromptu lice party on your head, share away.

Seriously, don't.

6. Cream in jars

The human fingers, you see, is one of the biggest warehouses for germs to thrive.

So, any time a foreign invader dips their crime scene into your jar of silky comfort, new germs contaminate the entire jar, which means the next time you use it, you might likely be carrying the wages of their sin on your body.

Bacteria like streptococcus or staphylococcus which can cause inflammation of the hair follicle and acne are some of the obtainable results from sharing your cream with someone else.

Only way to share safely is if a clean instrument is used to extract the cream from the jar, but why do you want to go to that trouble instead of just saying ?

7. Lip balm
The human lips are custodians of an extensive network of blood vessels hiding just below the surface, waiting to absorb germs and cold sores that you could quite possibly apply to it from something shared, like a lip balm.

Sharing lip balm - BAD. Okay?

8. Razor/Nail clipper

It's hard to think that there are people who don't already know the dangers of sharing razor with other people in this day and age; but for the dangerously uninitiated, sharing razor is a bad idea!

It's quite easy for dead skin cells and bacteria to accumulate on razors, and this can easily transmit warts and fungus when shared.

It's worse when it makes contact with a user's blood and becomes a carrier of blood-borne diseases like herpes and HIV.

Nail clippers don't get the same immediate suspicion as razors but the same dangers apply with sharing them.

9. Earphones
Hate to be the monster to break it to you, but it's possible to be jamming to that new monster album at work and be digging boils out of your ear the next day because you shared your earphones with Jennifer from Accounting.

This is not necessarily because Jennifer is a harvest farm for ear boils, but because studies have shown that earphones generate bacteria from the ears while you're bopping your head to Jay Z or losing your home training to Small Doctor.

Bacteria, like staph and strep, can accumulate on the earphones and jump ship anytime you share to cause infections, boils, or pustules.

The only way to safely share your earphones with Jennifer is if you properly clean it with alcohol-soaked cotton ball before passing it on; but is it the worst thing in the world to be armed with a legitimate reason to say a big fat No to the next person that asks to quickly use your earphones?

Go get your own earphones Jennifer!

Meet the Kambari people: One of the few naked tribes of Nigeria

Posted: 07 Sep 2019 11:30 PM PDT

The Kambari people are an ancient rural community in Niger state, one of the few who still practice nudity.

A reclusive people, the Kambari people pride themselves as being as independent from the government as possible.

Kambari is a remote community in Birnin Amina in Rijau Local Government Area in Niger state where people go about naked. They are a forgotten tribe satisfied with their simple way of life and their lack of governmental support for a sustainable community.

Way of life
The Kambari people do not speak English or Hausa, but speak their native Kambari. They stay in their small communities and only interact with others when they have to go to the farm and market. Nudity as a culture was passed down to them by their ancestors and is a part of them they aren't willing to let go of. However, when they people go to the market to sell their farm produce, the women cover the bottom half of their bodies with wrappers while the men do the same. Donkeys provide the only means of transport for a largely agrarian and nomadic people.

In Kambari, marriage is celebrated by slaughtering goats and cows for food while the parents of the bride cook food for the groom. Once the food is eaten, the marriage is contracted. According to the community chief, what attracts men is not the nudity of the women but how they plait their hair, good manners and the tattoos the young women have.

Religion
The Kambari people are not Christians or Muslims like most of northern Nigeria. Instead, they are pagans who worship a god called Magiro. They also believe strongly in witchcraft and magic.

Economy
As part of the Rijua local council area, the Kambari people produce a large percentage of the crops consumed by the entire people of the area. The most popular crops produced are corn, millet, peanuts, beans, and rice. Nearly all of the locals keep chickens and goats for meat while the richer ones have cattle.

Well, Billy Porter in his epic, history-making gowns, that's who. And Celine Dion, in her fashion-mad, slightly gonzo embrace of "extra." Elle Fanning, who staged a veritable fashion marathon in Cannes, parading out some 15 lewks in one 336-hour stretch. And Jason Momoa, who on Oscar night, wore Fanning's favorite hue (pink) complete with a custom Fendi scrunchie, and was all the more manly for it. Want more? How about Toronto Raptor Serge Ibaka in skirts? Dwyane Wade in glitter kicks and fanny packs? Chloe Sevigny's reverence for...Thumbelina (believe it). NCAC’s DG – ‘Bobrisky should have called my bosses when I shutdown his birthday party’

Posted: 07 Sep 2019 06:30 PM PDT

The Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe has confirmed that he gave the order for Bobrisky's birthday to be shut down by the police last weekend.

In an interview with NTA's The Platform which centered on the Culture and Challenge of National Development, the NCAC boss mocked Bobrisky by asking why he didn't call his (Runsewe) bosses he (Bobrisky) claimed he rolls with to intervene when his birthday was shut down.

He further described Bobrisky as a national disaster and an embarassment to the country. He added that Bobrisky's claim of dealing with his bosses is enough to destroy the credibility of Nigeria.

He said; "Bobrisky is a national disaster, he is an embarassment to this country. He said he deals with my bosses, but that is for yesterday. Today, if he deals with my bosses, when his party was shut down on Saturday why didn't he call my bosses.

We blocked the whole thing and the whole food and everything was wasted. He thought he is dealing with the Nigerians of yesterday, a change has come. There must be a new vision for this great country. We are going to issue a statement very soon, if we catch anybody on the street disgracing this country, there's law and order in this country.

He was only dropping names, he knows nobody. That statement he made, is enough to destroy the credibility of our country.

However shortly after Runsewe's disclosure of shutting down Bobrisky's birthday party went viral, the cross dresser shared a video of his police escort and also attached an 'I want to laugh' caption.

BBNaija2019: Venita in tears as Team Legend loses to Enigma again

Posted: 07 Sep 2019 06:30 AM PDT

Venita couldn't hold back her tears on Day 67 when her team, Legend, lost to Enigma in the wager task.

On Day 67 in the ongoing Big Brother Naija, Venita couldn't control her emotions as she cried after the loss of her team, Legend in the wager task.

Despite several events that happened in the BBNaija house on Thursday, September 5, one event that caught viewers' attention was Venita's tears.

As team Enigma bask in their second victory in a row, members of team Legend - especially Venita and Omashola - fight hard to hold back their tears and sadness.

A hurt Venita couldn't keep the tears from flowing as she explained some of the things she felt were responsible for her team's loss. While explaining, Venita found comfort in Seyi's arms and listening ears.

At first, it seems like it was only her team's loss that got to her, but as it turns out, it was more than that.

Venita complained to Seyi about two of her team members, Frodd and Omashola - making it obvious that she wasn't pleased to be with the team Legend.

The mother of two also complained to Seyi how she was pained by actions of some of the members of team Enigma after their victory. She said she found Mercy gloating as they were announced winners a bit too painful to bear.

However, Seyi was quick to assure her that she wasn't the target of their chants or gloat. Seyi confirmed that the activities were meant to taunt some of the Legend members including Tacha, Omashola, and Frodd.

"Tacha is the main person Mercy and Diane were gunning for," he explained. "I would have loved to shout too after what happened today, but because of you, I kept my cool," he said while trying to calm Venita.

Just like Venita, Omashola also couldn't hold back his sadness after the loss of his team. Despite getting himself busy with some exercises to take his mind off the loss, he couldn't help but speak out.

Omashola found the listening ears of Ike and Mercy, who were celebrating their victory in the garden. Omashola expressed his sadness wondering why his team had to lose the wager challenge twice in a row.

On his part, Frodd believes the team Enigma didn't follow Biggie's instructions in the scroll to the letter. He maintained that his team should have been at a tie with the Enigma.

Team Enigma showed what winners are made of as they clinched victory at 10th week's Wager Task. The team comprising of Cindy, Mike, Diane, Elozonam, Ike, Seyi, and Mercy showed knowledge, humanity, creativity, tenacity, and resourcefulness making them winners of the Wager Task for the second week in a row.

This week's Wager Task Challenge theme was to show love to the elderly ones by developing five presentations which included painting, sculpture, knitting, a poem, and a unique special piece. Both teams took on this Challenge with tenacity but in the end, the better team won.

Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, housemate, Seyi on Thursday engaged in a heated argument with fellow housemate, Tacha.

It all started after Tacha got angry at Seyi for shouting her name and knocking at the bathroom door asking her for a smoothie.

Angry Tacha shouted at Seyi, warning him not to try such again, adding that no housemate in the house is permitted to shout her name.

In response, Seyi said, "I'm really disappointed with someone who does not know how to say the truth at first hand.

"I'm very disappointed in you Tacha; last las na strike you go get because of this issue.

"I will make sure you get that third strike," Seyi said.

We had reported that Biggie on Sunday evening issued Tacha a second strike for disobeying BBNaija rules and undermining authorities.

Big Brother had gathered the housemates in the lounge and played several videos of Tacha's disrespect to Ebuka and fellow housemates.

While warning her, he said, "A last strike will get you disqualified from the reality show."

In one of the snaps, Tiwa admitted that she had not bathed even though she was applying makeup on her face. The singer explained that she was going straight from the airport to her first interview in New York City.

She wrote: "Straight from the airport to my first interview in NYC. I no even baff sef I dey paint face. Rub and Shine. Wipe and Spray."
