Description:
The Discovery internship is designed to expose freshman/sophomore level summer interns to two different client service businesses at Deloitte. Interns will spend four weeks in each business. You'll gain real-world experience working as a rotational intern working in two different client service businesses (Audit, Advisory, or Tax). Beyond exposure to "real life" projects, the internship also delivers a variety of national and local learning and networking events. In addition, throughout the internship there are ongoing learning events such a lunch and learns, industry/service line spotlights, and regularly scheduled training offerings designed to help our interns develop technical and client service skills. The interns will understand first-hand what a career with Deloitte is like and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network.

Qualifications:
• Freshman or Sophomore standing in a four-year institution with keen interest or declared major in accounting = Graduating with 150 credit hours in accounting between 2021 and 2023
• Strong academic credentials (minimum of a 3.3 GPA)
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and leadership potential

If you are between 75 and 89 cumulative credits, our ECON and BSOS advisors are currently reviewing your academic record. You may have already received an e-mail, or will be receiving one in the upcoming weeks, which highlights your remaining major and GenEd requirements. Please review this information and meet with an advisor if you have any questions regarding remaining requirements.

Please Note: If you are planning to Study Abroad, you will need to have an academic audit completed.

Apply for Winter/Spring 2020 BSOS Undergraduate Experience Funds!

Apply today for BSOS Winter/Spring 2020 Undergraduate Experience Funds!

These funds assist undergraduate BSOS majors engaged in experiential learning outside the classroom, such as unpaid internships, research, service learning, and professional or academic conferences. The funds are intended to help offset expenses related to activities like travel/transportation expenses, professional attire, and other opportunity costs (for example: the need to give up a part-time paid job in order to take an unpaid internship).

If you are a BSOS student with financial need that is preventing you from taking advantage of an unpaid opportunity, you are encouraged to apply for BSOS Undergraduate Experience Funds.

Applications for Winter/Spring 2020 experiences are due no later than December 1.

The Hate-Bias Response Team is currently recruiting students to serve on their student advisory group, which will launch in Spring 2020. The creation of the student advisory group establishes a formal mechanism to ensure that student input is integrated into actionable goals of the Hate-Bias Response Team. They are seeking students who are passionate about improving hate bias response on campus. Words of Engagement Intergroup Dialogue Program

Spring 2020 courses for the Words of Engagement Intergroup Dialogue Program
are now posted and open for enrollment!

The Words of Engagement Intergroup Dialogue Program (WEIDP) is a for-credit social justice education initiative that brings together students of diverse backgrounds for facilitated face-to-face conversations that supports students in exploring key questions about who we are, what we know about each other, and how systems of power impact our lives and relationships. WEIDP prepares students to navigate an increasingly diverse society through relationship building across difference and taking steps, both individually and collectively, that promote equity and justice.

All WEIDP courses count towards the Gen Ed Cultural Competence Diversity Requirement. Students can register for a dialogue course directly on testudo. Each dialogue course consists of 2-3 themed sections and participants are placed in one of the sections of course they registered for.
