UPDATE: Second Annual Sadie T.M. Alexander Conference for Economics and Related Fields Posted: 03 Oct 2019 10:23 AM PDT The Second Annual Sadie T.M. Alexander Conference for Economics and Related Fields will be held in downtown Washington DC on February 20-22, 2020. The Department of Economics is pleased to sponsor a limited number of current economics students to attend the event. The Sadie T.M. Alexander Conference and the Sadie Collective seek to address under-representation in economics and related fields by gathering and providing opportunities to Black women, who currently receive only 1% of PhDs and 2% of Bachelors degrees in economics. The 2020 conference will include talks by economists working in academia, government, and industry, as well as networking events and professional development sessions. UMD students who wish to have their attendance sponsored by the Department of Economics must: 1) commit to attending all events on the schedule and 2) provide all of the information required by the conference organizers, including answers to all questions and a link to a resume posted online. To request a ticket, please complete the form at https://forms.gle/MjkiC2VGpSoMj8TM6 no later than 4 pm on October 5th. The early deadline is because tickets for this event will sell out. Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis while sponsored slots remain, and on the basis of complete requests only. Please contact Professor Jessica Goldberg (jagold@umd.edu) with any questions. |
