How US Kept Close Tabs on Onyema's Financial Transactions (See Full Indictment)A 36-page indictment filed on November 19, 2019 at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, has shown that the US has been on the trail of Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema's financial transactions for a long time, leading to his indictment for money laundering and fraud.In an indictment filed on November 19, 2019 at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, Onyema and Air Peace Chief of Administration and Finance, Ejiroghene Eghagha, were indicted on one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, three counts of bank fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit credit application fraud, and three counts of credit application fraud. | Lagos state government gives explanation on why traffic gridlock is being experienced in the state Posted: 23 Nov 2019 05:30 AM PST  The Lagos State Government has appealed to residents and motorists to bear with it over serious traffic currently being experienced in several parts of the metropolis.The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, in a statement, said the gridlock was as a result of massive road repairs being carried out by the government, saying the situation was temporal.The Lagos State Government has noted the discomfort commuters and motorists have been experiencing since the beginning of the massive road repairs under 'Operation 116' across the State.There is no deliberate action to cause Lagosians any pain; the present situation is temporary. The contractors are speeding up their jobs and they are being encouraged to work at night where possible, even as motorists are being advised to use alternative routes.The discomfort will be short-lived. The State government has directed the relevant agencies to review traffic control and regulation policies towards identifying a long-lasting remedy to the problem.The daily influx of people from other parts of the country into Lagos has contributed to the big human and vehicular pressure on the roads. The government will surely surmount the challenges with technology and enforcement of traffic rules. The Government appreciates the perseverance of Lagosians and pledges its commitment to pooling all its resources together to achieving a permanent solution to the problem posed by the rehabilitation of bad roads. | Governor Makinde withdraws crowns from 21 Ibadan ‘kings’ who were elevated by Ajimobi Posted: 23 Nov 2019 04:30 AM PST  The lingering crises between the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Saliu Adetunji, and his High chiefs was put to rest on Tuesday, November 19th when the state government withdrew their crowns as part of the condition to settle out of court.The Olubadan and some of his chiefs, among whom are the Otun Olubadan, Lekan Balogun, Balogun of Ibadan land, Owolabi Olakulehin and others who are also members of the Olubadan-In-Council had in the last two years been engaged in a conflict.The crisis reached its peak in August 2017 when the immediate past governor, Abiola Ajimobi, presented staffs of office to about 21 chiefs who were promoted to the status of kings. Eminent personalities, indigenes of Ibadan, clubs and societies in the ancient city including former President Olusegun Obasanjo had tried to wade into the conflict but were unsuccessful.The crisis was, however, laid to rest when Ajimobi's successor, Seyi Makinde, withdrew the crowns of the officials as part of the condition to settle out of court. It was gathered that the Court of Appeal in Ibadan had on August 23 this year referred parties in the controversial coronation to a lower court.Makinde had opted for an out-of-court settlement to restore peace between the Olubadan and his estranged chiefs. The appellate court ordered that the case be returned for trial before another judge of the state High Court. But, the parties reached agreement on Tuesday when the state High Court in a suit number M/317/2017 filed by Rashidi Ladoja pronounced that the parties in the suit have met and agreed.The judgement read by Justice A. Aderemi reads; "That all the gazettes affecting the chieftaincy laws of Ibadan land particularly gazette Nos 14 vol. 42 of 23rd August 2017;15 Vol 42of 24 August 2017 and 3vol 43 of 29th March 2018 and the subsequent elevation of High Chiefs and Baale in Ibadan land as Obas during the pendency of this suit be and are hereby set aside. "That the right to wear beaded crown and coronet granted by the state government during the pendency of the suit, are hereby revoked. "That the 1st defendant shall take steps to reconcile all parties involved in the chieftaincy matters to foster unity and harmony in the protection of the tradition of Ibadan land as relates to the chieftaincy laws of Ibadan land."  | ||||||||||

"As long as God is alive and I am alive.This conference can't hold.
