The actress shared pictures of herself at the pulpit speaking to an audience at a conference organized by Modul University Dubai, and looking through a glass from the pictures, one would easily notice that the hall was empty.

Pressure made me go into a marriage that lasted only 3years- CNN correspondent, Stephanie Busari tells her story

Posted: 14 Dec 2019 11:00 PM PST

Nigerian-born CNN correspondent, Stephanie Busari has advised young ladies against rushing into marriage, while using her failed marriage as a reference.

Butressing her point, Stephanie narrated how pressure from her parents and family drove her into a marriage that lasted for three years. According to her, she left her failed marriage with a beautiful daughter and a bag full of regrets.

Her tweet reads;

"Ten years ago today I got married. It lasted 3 years and I came away with a beautiful daughter and a heart full of (some) regrets. Does one mark such an auspicious occasion? Or just quietly acknowledge as one of the hopes and dreams that didn't quite pan out?

Despite all my achievements, I was flying high in my career. I had bought a flat, all before 30, I felt like a failure because I wasn't married. Parents have their own timeline for your life. You must create and embrace yours and BE HAPPY with your choices.

I got married largely due to pressure. It enveloped me like a cloud. Every time an embossed handwritten envelope thudded through the letter box 'inviting the pleasure of my parents company.' I heard my mother's heavy sigh, my father's questioning glances.

10 years later, and I am still so sad at how miserable I was. My ex-husband was not a bad person, but we were just desperately incompatible. Even I was surprised we ended up together! Make sure and be doubly sure and be sure again before you say I do.

These women feel like Mr Right Now is better than Mr Right, as long as they become a Mrs. Please DON'T do it! The sadness of an unhappy marriage and home seeps into your soul. It is crushing and turns you into a shell of who you are".

Tekashi 6ix9ine writes an emotional letter to his judge begging for forgiveness six days before his sentencing

Posted: 14 Dec 2019 04:00 AM PST

Rapper and songwriter, Tekashi 6ix9ine has written an emotional letter to the judge handling his case, begging for forgiveness ahead of his sentencing next week Wednesday.

Tekashi, real names Daniel Hernandez, belonged to a gang called the Nine Trey gangsters and the FBI last year arrested Tekashi and some members of his clique after a large scale investigation that spanned five years.

The men are being indicted on charges related to racketeering, drug distribution, weapon possession, and conspiracy to commit murder.

In his letter directed to the presiding judge of his case, Paul A.Engelmayer, Tekashi claimed to have seen the light, denounced his gang members, admitted he made serious mistakes with his life and was ready to help others not make the mistakes he made if he is forgiven by the court.

He begged the judge to give him a lighter sentence and a second chance in life even though prosecutors have already submitted their request to the judge for a lighter sentence telling the judge that Tekashi helped them catch a lot of criminals as he was a very good snitch and exposed a lot of gang crime.

In his letter, Tekashi writes:

"As my sentencing date approaches, I am becoming more and more overwhelmed with emotions. More than anything, I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to express my remorse to you, your Honor, over this situation."

"I know that my life will never be the same but hopefully this change will be for the better because beyond all of this, I still consider myself a role model to millions of people as an artist, a celebrity and as a human being. I'm happy that the public was able to witness me dealing with the consequences of my actions because I feel like it sheds a light on what can come from gang affiliation."

"I now know that I am remorseful for what happened because I was blessed with the gift of an opportunity that most people dream of but I squandered it by getting involved with the wrong people and misrepresenting myself when I should have been true to myself and my fans."

He finishes by writing, "I'm truly sorry for the harm that I've caused. If given a second chance, I will not let this Court down and I will dedicate a portion of my life to helping others not make the same mistakes that I've made."

Tonto Dikeh busted after sharing pictures from an #AUDIO Conference in Dubai

Posted: 14 Dec 2019 03:30 AM PST

Actress Tonto Dikeh has been busted by eagle-eyed instagram users after she shared pictures of herself on a podium supposedly speaking to an audience at a conference organized by Modul University Dubai.

As seen in the pictures, it appears like the actress was never speaking to any audience and that it was all an "audio (FAKE) conference".

A closer look at the pictures, without zooming in, clearly shows that while the actress was busy at the pulpit delivering a speech, the conference hall had no audience seated in it.

An Instagram blog @gistmerchant wrote ;

"Tonto attends a conference, hangs around a conference hall after presentation is over, poses on the podium speaking to an empty room with imaginary audience (zoom picture) using powerpoint presentation of the last speaker, thanks the university for an amazing experience.

Now this is what we call packaging. You wonder how these foundations make their money? They have to package pictures, spin images to seem like what they are not, present all these as evidence to a big funding individual/organisation and get the fundings they need to continue their expensive living.

She has been introduced to people in that line of work, now go through her page and start noticing, she posts old charity pictures with disabled, aged etc. Shouting out about 10000 smiles for kids in Nigeria. I tell you they have found a mugu and now packaging the thing for him.

Snapping pics with foreigners, making it seem like a deal is being closed and finally today unveiled a foundation in her son's name. All na format. If you know, you know. All these hustle to be able to afford a few fake designer bag and clothes".

Dabota Lawson reacts to Reno Omokri’s post about celebrities and their fake lifestyles

Posted: 14 Dec 2019 01:30 AM PST

Dabota Lawson, has called out popular Nigerian author and social commentator, Reno Omokri, after the latter made a post addressing celebrities and their fake lifestyles.

Omokri in the Twitter post had submitted that most regular people are richer than a lot of celebrities that flaunt a larger-than-life kind of lifestyle on social media.

According to him, half of the things they put up are partly financed with loans and sometimes, on credit.

Reacting, Dabota shared a screenshot of the post on her Instagram page, accompanied with a caption. According to her, Omokri's take only encourages bad behavior from youths, and acts of theft.

She explained that in saner climes, youths should be able to take loans to fund the kind of lifestyle they desire. However, because of the poor system in Nigeria, people see the most basic things as a form of luxury.

"A country with a good system and a good structure should encourage such behavior (people taking loans). It is because the system has failed that people have become desperate and feel the need to brag about things that an average citizen with a good credit score should be able to acquire," she said.

The entrepreneur charged Omokri to change his mindset, noting that a flashy lifestyle comes with being a celebrity, but it does not make them the problem.
