One of the UK's most wanted men has been arrested by Dutch police as he sat down to eat his Christmas dinner.

Daniel Burdett, 28, from Liverpool, was detained on a European Arrest Warrant at a restaurant in The Hague on Christmas Day after five years on the run, a spokesman for the National Crime Agency (NCA) said.

Investigators suspect Burdett, also wanted by Merseyside Police for drugs offences, is the ringleader of a criminal gang believed to be using corrupt lorry drivers to smuggle firearms and ammunition from the Netherlands into the UK.

He faces 10 charges of conspiracy to import firearms and conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs.

One man has already been jailed for eight years in connection with this investigation and another is currently awaiting trial, the NCA spokesman said.

Burdett is due to appear before Dutch magistrates who will consider extraditing him to the UK to face the charges.

Mark Spoors, NCA branch commander, said: "The arrest of one of our long-standing fugitives is a fantastic result.

"Burdett thought he could evade the law by exploiting international borders, but his arrest shows that no matter where you are, we will catch up with you.

"Other fugitives should pay attention to this and remember how determined UK law enforcement is.

"Thanks to the co-ordinated response by the Dutch police and Merseyside Police, Burdett is now facing extradition to the UK.

"The public can be assured that the NCA is relentlessly pursuing those suspected of causing the most harm to the UK, even on Christmas Day."

Nigerian Pastor drowned with 2 kids in Costa del Sol pool

Pastor drowned with 2 kids in Costa del Sol pool
Late Pastor Gabriel Diya

The British dad who drowned alongside two of his children on the Costa del Sol in Spain has been identified as a devout Christian pastor, according to reports.

Gabriel Diya, 52, and his son Praise-Emmanuel Diya, 16, were named as the family members who died trying to save 9-year-old Comfort Diya after she became trapped in the pool on Christmas Eve, according to The Telegraph.

The family is based in London but the teenage boy was traveling on a US passport, the paper said.

Dad Diya is originally from Ile-Ife, Nigeria but is now a pastor at Open Heavens in southeast London, part of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, a Nigeria-based network of religious groups
.

The group offered "prayers" as it confirmed the news with "heavy hearts" in a Facebook tribute. It added that Diya's wife, Olubunmi — who witnesses said desperately prayed as CPR was administered to her husband and kids — is also an assistant pastor.

Diya and his teenage son are believed to have died after trying to save Comfort when she became trapped underwater at the Club La Costa World in Las Lagunas de Mijas near Málaga.

Police later found her swimming cap inside the pool's pump system – suggesting the three family members may have been sucked to their deaths, according to reports.

Post-mortem exams ruled out poisoning in the water, and another family member — a 12-year-old girl — showed no symptoms of being harmed by chemicals despite also being in the pool, The Telegraph reported.

The three deaths were officially ruled drownings, the paper said.

"We are carrying out multiple lines of inquiry, including looking at the swimming pool pumps," a source at the Civil Guard told The Times of London.

"At this point everything indicates the deaths were accidental," the source said, calling it a " truly terrible thing."

Despite the ongoing mystery, the Guardia Civil gave "formal permission to reopen the pool," the resort said in a statement on Facebook.

"They found no concerns relating to the pool or procedures in place, which leaves us to believe this was a tragic accident which has left everyone surrounding the incident in shock," the resort said.

"Naturally our primary concern remains the care and support of the remaining family members," it added, requesting privacy for them "at this traumatic time."

Counselors are now comforting the widowed mom and her 12-year-old daughter — and relatives have flown from the UK to be by their side, according to the reports.

2019 Smartphones Winners and Losers: Samsung

2019 Smartphones Winners and Losers: Samsung
SAMSUNG GALAXY

This year the mobile phone market saw the rise of many new trends - from high refresh rate screens through 108MP image sensors to periscope cameras. The first foldable phones went on sale, charging speeds went through the roof, displays got curvier and grew punch holes.

Some brands used these trends to their advantage and grow in the market, others missed the mark. In this series we look at what each company got right in 2019 and where their efforts came short. We'll start with the world's largest manufacturer - Samsung.

It's time to look at the smartphone leader and the year it had. Samsung's 2019 was challenging but ultimately successful, it revamped its midrange and its premium lineup and dared to innovate.

Winner: Samsung Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e

Samsung started the year on a positive, announcing the revamped Galaxy S10 lineup with no less than three (four, if you count the 5G S10) members. The Galaxy S10 and S10+ premiered the first ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanners, while the Galaxy S10e was the first truly-compact Galaxy S smartphone in a while.

All three phones had punch-hole selfie cameras, new ultrawide cameras on the rear, snappy 8nm Exynos 9820 chipsets and 128GB base storage.

Loser: Samsung Galaxy Fold

At about the same time the conventional Galaxy S10 lineup was announced, so was the futuristic Galaxy Fold.

It had a 4.6-inch outer screen, a 7.3-inch inner, tablet screen, used magnets to clamp shut, 6 cameras and was supposed to become available at an exorbitant $1,980 price tag in April.

But it turned out the folding screen would be susceptible to dirt and debris getting in the hinge will ultimately destroy it, while some mistook the thin film over the display for a screen protector and attempted to peel off, resulting in damage to the screen.

Samsung cancelled all Galaxy Fold pre-orders and recalled every Galaxy Fold unit so as to fix the hardware issues before it could release it anew.

Winner: Samsung's revamped Galaxy A lineup

In 2019, Samsung reshaped its midrange lineup into the highly-successful Galaxy A line. The Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A70 were among Samsung's best sellers of the year and topped our most-popular smartphone charts for the entirety of 2019.

The Galaxy A line had devices of all shapes and sizes, most of which had either excellent AMOLED screens and multiple cameras or huge batteries.

The Galaxy A80 even had a rotating camera module that hid the camera behind the screen when it wasn't needed to make for a seamless, notchless viewing experience.

Winner: Samsung Galaxy Note10+ and Galaxy Note10

The Samsung Galaxy Note10+ was the assertive superphone Samsung needed to close out 2019.

In typical Note fashion it had the biggest and best display around, didn't bother with anything less than 256GB of storage, brought the most versatile cameras around, a huge battery with fast wired and wireless charging and, naturally, an S Pen with gyroscopic air gestures.

Holiday sales and regular discounts have made this phone even more attainable, making it even more of a winner!

Loser: Samsung Exynos

Okay, this one is yet to materialize so it's more of a loss for 2020, but it became clear that Samsung will stop making its own custom CPU cores and instead rely on ARM's own designs.

Samsung had assured that this move will make sure Exynos chipsets remain competitive in the future, but we can't help but worry that the Exynos' single-core lead over its Snapdragon counterpart would be lost.

Winner: Samsung Galaxy Fold

Samsung officially re-launched the Galaxy Fold in September, having fixed its hardware issues.

2019 Smartphones Winners and Losers: Samsung
This makes Samsung the only maker that has released a foldable in 2019 in a significant number of markets - no mean feat!

Winner: Software updates

Samsung really stepped up its software updates in 2020, releasing Android 10 to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note10 lineups by mid-December. That's a far cry from the days when the current Galaxy S and Galaxy Note was still in beta testing well into the new year.

Merry Christmas, Agba Jalingo, Ayade won't win

Merry Christmas, Agba Jalingo, Ayade won't win
Journalist Agba Jalingo has been in detention for months for his views (Premium Times)

Jalingo shouldn't be silenced by an oppressive, directionless government. His fight is our fight.

As a Cross Riverian and journalist, I can relate with Agba Jalingo and the travails he's currently passing through.

I have a fair idea why Jalingo has remained in jail since August 22, 2019 and it has nothing to do with attempting to overthrow the democratically elected government of Governor Ben Ayade.

As publisher of CrossRiverWatch, Jalingo and his team were very critical of Ayade and his rudderless administration. They were fearless, pulled no punches and they churned out one exclusive after another that indicted Ayade and his administration.

After Jalingo accused the governor of diverting N500 million, his fate was sealed and he was picked up from Lagos, his hands in chains.

Jalingo has always been a man targeted by Ayade and his people. You see, Ayade hates to be criticized even though he's one of the worst governors in the country today. He talks big and delivers little or nothing. He deceives his audience and Cross Riverians with bombastic language that means basically nothing. He has tagged his budgets with language no one has understood since 2015 and his budgets have delivered very little to the people of Cross River since he assumed the reins.

Ayade has been erecting castles in the air since 2015.

I know this because I just returned from Cross River to bury my dad. Cross River is rotting on Ayade's watch and it's so sad to see.

Interestingly, at about the time Jalingo was arrested, I also wrote a piece critical of the governor which you can find here. It was about how Calabar has lost its glory and how Ayade has allowed infrastructure to decay on his watch. It was about how Ayade has destroyed the vision for Cross River which Donald Duke had carefully crafted and implemented from 1999 to 2007. These days, I just can't recognize my Calabar anymore whenever I visit.

Days later, the governor replied through his spokesperson and called me and this medium all kinds of unprintable names. They just can't stand criticism on Diamond Hill, Calabar.

As Jalingo groans in detention at Christmas, I am consoled that his spirit hasn't been broken and that he remains defiant and confident that he will get justice; especially after Justice Simon Amobeda who has been trying him, recused himself from the trial for alleged bias. Amobeda allegedly made some "biased" remarks against Jalingo which was leaked to the press.

"I spoke with him this afternoon and I also sent my cousin there to give him some foodstuff. He is in very high spirits," said News Editor of CrossRiverWatch, Jonathan Ugbal of Jalingo, on Christmas eve.

"As a matter of fact, he was even asking if there was a way we could buy cow head for him (to eat)."

Ayade won't win because there's no way you can get away with accusing a journalist who has got nothing but information and a laptop, of trying to overthrow you. It's a laughable charge, come to think of it.

"Dictatorship has never defeated goodwill and a determined people. Even if I end up not standing with you in the summit, remain strong and rest assured that the arc of life is on our side and we will win," Jalingo recently wrote from behind prison walls.

"When this wind has finished blowing yonder, and it shall soon; we will look back and be glad we stuck our necks on the guillotine and history will only be fair to us, our people shall be free, the will of God would have been done and God's name will be glorified," he added.

This is the Jalingo I've always known--bruised, beaten but unbowed and unbroken. The man has always been a fighter and he'll emerge from this like he's done since he took the war to a directionless Ayade administration.

Those of us who hail from Cross River and who have seen our state fall apart on Ayade's watch, stand with Jalingo and we trust that Ayade won't win. Jalingo's fight is ours as well.

Stay strong, Jalingo and Merry Christmas.

'I Did 50 Crunches Every Day For A Month - Here's What Happened'

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 06:00 AM PST

Fifty crunches a daysounds like no biggie, right? I thought so too, at first. Normally, the only things I like to commit myself to are my husband, my extensive (and obsessive) skincare routine, and a well-deserved glass of cabernet (or three) after a long, hard day. But I was actually super psyched to take on this challenge I deemed a simple feat.

For most of my life I've worked out fairly consistently, running outside, going to the gym, or taking fitness classes at least three or four times a week. But something happened this past year that caused me to hop off the workout bandwagon, so to speak.

I recently got married. In other words, I spent the 365 days prior to my wedding date on a strict diet and fitness plan (of sorts). I made sure to carefully watch everything I ate and tried my best not to skip any workout classes. But by the time I walked down the aisle in October, I was more than ready to add back all of the cheese, carbs, booze, and more cheese back into my daily diet. I indulged during my three-week long honeymoon in Paris and Greeceand upon returning, I kept right on indulging through the holiday season.

So, as you can imagine, taking on a 30-day abs challenge was very welcomed at first. My only to-do before crunching on the daily was to reach out to fitness gurus to figure out what I might achieve by locking in my 50 a day.

"You can expect to see more changes mentally than physically," Ben Boudro, CSCS, owner of Xceleration Fitness in Auburn Hills, Michigan warned me. "To be honest, there are way better exercises for your core than just plain old crunches, but that's really not the point of doing a challenge." Then what was the point of a challenge like this, I asked him? "Challenges have end dates so there's always a light at the end of the tunnel, which helps people following through with said challenge," he told me. "I don't care if you just jumped over a stick, did pushups, squatted or only did planksthe bottom line is you exercised in a certain way for 30 days straight, which is a great accomplishment." I liked his enthusiasm and belief in my commitment level.

"If you only do 50 crunches a day for a month, you will probably have a serious case of rug burn with a little extra strength in your upper abs, and maybe a little more definition," Chris Ryan, CSCS, a physical trainer and founder of Chris Ryan Fitness , told me, which sounded a little less exciting, but also realistic.

So I took the plunge and did 50 crunches every day for a damn month straight. Here's what I learned.

Most of my friends are a four-hour drive away from where I live. Seeing them often isn't always realistic, and connecting with them from afar isn't easy. So I figured, since I can't recruit them for a boozy brunch on a random Saturday, why not invite them to do this challenge with me? A few buddies stepped up to the plate and signed on. We set reminders on our calendars and bugged each other incessantly when the clock neared midnight and we had yet to do our set. On some occasions we even FaceTimed while doing them (laughing so hard sometimes that we had to reset and start all over again, though the laughs were also a good abs workout !).

Chris was not lying when he warned me about rug burn. The first location I chose for performing my daily crunches was, indeed, my rug. After all, what options did I have in my 500-square-foot New York City apartment? But after just two days of this, the rug burn was real. I then decided to move to my hardwood floorbig mistake. Those red marks turned to straight-up bruises I could feel every day at work as my lower back rested on my computer chair. That's when I decided to use my yoga mat, which I should've been doing from the start. The rest was pretty much smooth sailing, in the injury department at least.

Though I committed to doing 50 crunches a day for a month, I didn't commit to any kind of diet or additional exercise plan. I tried my best to make my three classes a week (and failed miserably at that), but I did keep up with my 50 crunches a day.

Since I wasn't sticking to a diet, that also meant on Mondays, especially after a boozy weekend starring late-night pizza, the last thing my lethargic body wanted to do was lie back in the fetal position and go head-to-knees. I managed to do it, still, every day, but noticed a stark difference in my enthusiasm level on the days when I felt gross and bloated than the days when I had been eating decently.

Fifty crunches a day really is nothing in the scheme of things. Each day I spent no more than a solid minute in the crunch position and never even had trouble finishing all 50 at once. But still, getting myself to squeeze in that time was tough. I found every excuse in the book to push off my set of 50 until later and later and later in the day. My list of excuses included (but was not limited to): "I skied all day, I deserve a break," or "I woke up too early this morning and I'm tired," or "But it's the weekend!"

I'm thankful that my husband gave me his infamous: "Are you effing serious?" look each of those times.

All in all, I'm glad I took on this challenge and, for once, committed to some form of a daily fitness routine. But I don't think this is something I'd recommend to anyone gunning for a six-pack. If the goal was commitment, I won the gold medal. And while I definitely felt definition in my upper abdomen, I saw little improvement in my physicality (take a look at the before-and-after photos above).

Kendall Jenner Reveals Her Biggest Turn-Ons

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 05:30 AM PST

Most of us wake up in the morning wondering what turns on Kendall Jenner. For years, the only answers were speculative. This year, though, Christmas has come early. As part of Calvin Kleins In Bed With video series, the media personality delivers nearly including what shes looking for in a potential suitor.

The video opens with Jenner (coincidentally clad in a CK sports bra and sweats) flopping into a (her?) bed, then dishing on her favorite things to do there: chill out, watch streaming services, and eat. (Cookies and ice cream are go-tos; so is a bowl of chili. Kendall Jenner eats chili in bed.) Her fav movies? She has a lot: Stepbrothers, Bridesmaids, and Marley and Me are in there, but there are so many its hard to choose.

After a brief recounting of a time she somehow left Cannes and ended up in Moncao, and her 2019 career highlights (Italian Vogue) she gets down to business. So what turns on Kendall Jenner? My biggest turn-on is someone who is confident and I really like a witty person. Someone who can make me laugh, she says, aligning with roughly 90 percent of the worlds Tinder profiles.

Does she want someone whos buttoned-up and self-filtering? She does not. The sillier you are, the more yourself you are, the more unfiltered you are I think the better, she says. Conversely, her biggest turn-off is someone whos too filtered. Someone who is trying to be something theyre not or is trying to prove something, she says. Model and reality-tv star Kendall Jenner doesnt want you to be fake or try to prove anything. Instead, be yourself.

So there you gonow you know what it takes to catch the eye of Kendall Jenner. Just be unfiltered and silly. And maybe bring her chili in bed. Watch the video here:

Types of teeth and their common problems

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 05:00 AM PST

Teeth are the hardest part of the human body, and arguably one of the most sensitive as well.

But for the most part, they are usually overlooked because of its small size and the position it takes in the body.

Yet they are used for various activities carried out by human everyday, such as eating. However, there are four types of teeth which are the incisors, the molar, the premolar and the canines.

1. The incisors
Four on the top layer of the teeth and four on the lower layer of the teeth. They are mainly used for cutting foods.

2. The Canines
From the name alone, images of fangs and sharply pointed tooth come to mind.

The canines are sharp pointed fang-like teeth that are used for tearing food apart. They are four in number and are arranged singly in each part of the mouth.

One on the lower Jae and one on the upper jaw.

3. The premolar
The premolars are another type of teeth that are used for chewing and grinding. They are eight in number and are also known as bicuspids.

Sometimes referred to as transitional teeth, premolars are located between the canine and molar teeth. There are two premolars per quadrant in the permanent set of teeth, making eight premolars total in the mouth.

4. The Molar
The molar is another type of teeth and they are used for chewing and grinding of food.

Sometimes referred to as the mother of teeth, the molars are eight in number and are arranged in twos at the two sides of the jaw; two on top and two below at each part of the jaw.

But there's also another set of molars that develop at an advanced stage of one's life, and are called the famous wisdom teeth.

They are two in number developing one at each extreme end of the lower jaw.

However, as earlier mentioned, our teeth are small but they play a vital role in the overall development of the human body.

And one thing that drives that point home is the fact that a blow to the teeth affects the entire body.

This is why it is very important for one to try every possible means to prevent common teeth problems by keeping them clean and healthy.

Here are some of the common teeth problems:
1. Halitosis

Commonly known as mouth odor, halitosis is one of the most debilitating and embarrassing teeth diseases. It can lead to social embarrassment and an unease in the company of other people.

Halitosis could be caused by a dental decay.

2. Tooth decay

Tooth decay is another very common disease of the teeth. It is caused by the acidic combination of the sugar deposited by the sugary food we eat and the plaque deposited on our teeth.

It can, however, be avoided by regular cleaning of the teeth.

3. Periodontal or gum disease

This is characterized by reddish coloured swollen, painful gum and sensitive teeth. And it can be prevented by regularly brushing and flossing the teeth every morning and night.

Here is why you’re so intensely horny on your period

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 04:30 AM PST

Every month, your period arrives with the usual suspects in tow: cramps, bloating, fatigue-just to name a few.

But it can also bring another (much, much more fun) guest to the party: a wild and crazy libido. So, yeah... it's no coincidence you feel all kinds of horny on your period.

And that's despite the fact that you likely don't feel your absolute sexiest during this time. ICYDK, that happens during ovulation -about halfway through your cycle, or two weeks after your period-thanks to a slight increase in testosterone during this time, says Dr. Mary Jane Minkin , MD, clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Yale University Medical School. (Maybe she really is born with it...)

Okay, so why do you get insanely horny on your period?
Despite many women reporting the phenomenon, science still isnt quite sure.

But here's what we do know: "A female menstrual cycle involves the cyclical rise and fall of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA," says Adeeti Gupta, MD, an ob-gyn and founder of Walk In GYN Care . All of those hormones play key roles in your sex drive.

And while there's a known link between them, again, scientists arent totally sure how your cycle impacts your sex drive.

In a 2013 study published in Hormones and Behavior , researchers explored the connection in a group of undergraduate women. They measured hormone levels over two full menstrual cycles, and compared the results to daily journals where the participants recorded sexual activity and feelings of friskiness.

The researchers found that changing levels of estrogen and progesterone had serious sex drive side effects. Likely because, "estrogen promotes libido and desire," explains Gupta. "Progesterone is a stabilizing hormone that suppresses libido."

Before that time of the month, all those hormones reach a heightened state. But right before your period, they crash, says Nan Wise , PhD, a cognitive neuroscientist and certified sex therapist. "During week one of your period, when you're bleeding, estrogen starts a steady climb," she says.

This moment during your cycle can be particularly ripe for gotta-have-it-now desire. "During and right after the period is when progesterone"-the hormone that suppresses your sex drive-"is the lowest," explains Gupta. Meanwhile, your desire-boosting estrogen levels are building up, increasing your horniness.

On the flip side, does arousal affect menstruation?
Your hormones are already fluctuating on their own, so sexual arousal has "no major effect" on your menstrual cycle, says Dr. Minkin. Still, "some women report that if they masturbate or have sex, the sense of the pelvic congestion or the menstrual cramps is relieved," notes Wise. Plus, it feels a heck of a lot better than taking ibuprofen.

Ready to get it on? Here's what you need to know about period sex:

And, of course, your friskier-than-normal feelings can certainly impact your mood during menstruation. Sex and/or orgasm are both known for relieving stress -something you might be subconsciously craving during that time of the month. "In some cases, women may simply want to have an orgasm to relax and unwind," says Janet Brito , PhD, a licensed psychologist and certified sex therapist in Honolulu. "While in other cases, they may be yearning for an intimate connection. Whats important is to listen to your body and give it what it needs."

To do that, she recommends keeping a journal on how your menstruation impacts your arousal and vice versa. This, Brito says, can help you get comfortable discussing your needs, promote body awareness, and ultimately enhance your personal and partnered relationships.

Is the best time to have sex during your period?
Period sex can feel like the world's most satisfying slip-n-slide (sorry, had to), but, based on hormones alone, your sexual desire probably doesn't peak during your period. That happens during ovulation, again thanks to testosterone. This hormone doesn't just make you feel sexy, but can actually make you want to have sex.

"When women ovulate, their testosterone levels tends to increase a little," says Dr. Minkin. "If you think about it from a logical point of view, nature wants you to have sex when you're ovulating." After all, that's the best time to get pregnant and, ya know, further the human species.

Still, if you're ~feeling~ yourself on your period, why not make the most of it? "Take advantage of the desire to be sexual either with yourself and with your partner," suggests Brito. "Its a perfect time to experiment with sex toys and get out of your comfort zone." (Not to mention menstrual blood makes the best natural lube ...)

Can birth control impact how horny you feel on your period?
Because hormonal birth control works by stopping your uterus from ovulating, they also stop that little boost in testosterone, explains Dr. Minkin. Birth control pills, in particular, can affect your libido throughout your menstrual cycle. "That's an ongoing issue," she says. "It's not going to change by the first day or two of your menstrual cycle." Basically, don't expect a switch to flip your sexual desire on the second you take a sugar pill.

Birth control pills also increase something called sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG). "If you have some free testosterone running around in your body, SHBG is sort of like PacMan," she explains. "Basically, it just eats the testosterone up, so many people think that's why birth control decreases your libido."

Still, your sex drive isn't **totally** dependent on your hormones.

Feeling horny during your period may also just come down to individual differences, says Wise. "Women might like sex more or a whole lot less in that period of time depending on their physical comfort," she says. "For some women, when theyre bleeding and crampy, the last thing they want is sex-however, some women want sexual activity for relief."

Your increased desire to have sex on your period could also be due to environmental factors, like your relationship status and career plans. "There is definitely a psychological freedom in knowing that you can let go and worry less about conceiving, if that is not what you are aiming for," says Brito.

Bottom line: If you suddenly feel sex-crazed on your period, the most likely culprit is your naturally shifting hormone levels. Feel free to send your ovaries a "thank you" card. (And if you dont feel particularly horny during that time of the month, dont worry-nothing is off.)

8 early signs of a bad boyfriend

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 04:00 AM PST

Use these 8 early warning signs of a bad boyfriend to find out if your guy's just not into you anymore!.

But as the days turn into months, he seems more distant, or worse, he doesn't have time for you anymore.

1.. He takes time
He doesn't make you his priority. He is not eager to pick your calls and hang out with you. He does things at his own convenience even when he's not busy.

2.. He takes you for granted
He doesn't appreciate the sacrifices you do for him. No appreciation for the little gestures you do for him. He never reciprocates anything you do.

3.. No time for you
He is always in a rush to hang up when you call him. He doesn't have time for you, but always has time for his friends and other activities. He is always on social media but he doesn't even send you a message.

He makes plans with you and cancels them often. And he always has a convincing excuse no matter what accusation you make.

4.. All he wants to do is make out
Every time both of you meet, all he wants to do is make out. He gets annoyed if you just want to talk or hang out doing something else.

5.. He's emotionally closed off
An early sign of a bad boyfriend is that he doesn't want to talk about the way forward pertaining to your relationship. He says he likes living in the present, but still makes future plans about everything else but the relationship.

6.. He has a lot of secrets

He only informs you about the trivial things in his life and with that he doesn't even ask for your opinion. Although you dated him for years, you don't even know his favorite things.

7.. He's controlling and manipulative
Although he is not committed to the relationship, he doesn't want to see you with other men. He gets very jealous when you are laughing and having a general conversation with men whether your colleagues, family or classmates.

He always tries to advise you on how you should lead your life. And as helpful as he seems, somehow you feel very stifled and suffocated in the relationship.

8.. He's in touch with his ex
He always compares you to his ex-girlfriend and sought for her opinions in matters relating to your relationship or his personal life. He finds time to meet his ex and surprisingly, he doesn't seem enthusiastic about you joining them each time he meets his ex. They're just friends, right?

Is Sex With Your Best Friend A Good Idea...Or Will It Ruin Everything?

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 03:30 AM PST

Best friends are hard to come by. These are people in your life who you've grown to trust, value, and love, likely for years. But what happens when that last L-word, love, turns into another: lust? Is having sex with your best friend actually a good idea?

According to Mary Kay Cocharo, LMFT , starting something romantic with a friend could be your best idea yet. I know that people are always afraid to do that, but from my perspectiveIve been a marriage therapist for over 30 yearsthe couples who start with a solid basis of friendship are in a really good position to last."

Compared to people who meet as strangers, Cocharo says couples who start as friendsespecially best friendshave a much better foundation. People who just get attracted to someone they see across the room have a lot of pheromones, Cocharo says. "Sometimes in that chemical cocktail, well get attracted to someone and start a relationship and when those hormones start wearing off, we find that theres absolutely no foundation to build a relationship on. But if you already have the emotional relationship in place (hello, friendship!) and then start to get intimate, you've got a much better shot at creating a healthy and happy future.

So how do I tell my friend I'm interested in them?
Ideally, Cocharo says the conversation would come before you actually decide to have sex with the person. She recommends saying something like, Listen, can we sit down and talk about something important?" Then, "Sometimes I feel like theres potential in our friendship to be romantic, and Im wondering if that ever crosses your mind..."

This approach puts you in a less vulnerable position (phew): You're not telling them you're in love with them or want to marry them. You're just gauging their interest.

Of course, sometimes the sex happens first (especially if there's alc involved). In that case, Cocharo says that you should still have a "what was this conversation?" afterward. It might be uncomfortable in the beginning, but it's the best time to make sure that you two are on the same page when it comes to whether or not the sex meant something more than sex.

What if my friend doesn't see me the way I see them?
That's okay. "Real friendships can endure," Cocharo says. If you have this conversation before or after the sex and find out that the feelings aren't mutual, don't be too hard on yourself. "This is not about me. Im not being rejected. Its just not a good fit for the other person," Cocharo recommends telling yourself.

Just know that you might have to set some new boundaries in your friendship. Maybe don't stay over their house after falling asleep during movie night. If you have actual romantic feelings for them, not just sexual ones, you might even have to take a break from the friendship.

Just be honest and say, "We're friends, we will always be friends, but I'm taking the next few months away from you to calm down my own feelings, attractions, and attachment to you. And then we can pick up where we left off as friends." As Cocharo says, "if it's really a good friendship, it can tolerate that."

I need proof. Any real stories?
Of course! Here are a few happy endings, sad endings, and somewhere in between...

The happy:

"He and I were best friends all throughout high school. We hooked up in college and started dating. He's still my best friend and we're getting married this summer!" Katie D. , 26

"We'd been really close friends for about two years but never had any interest in each other. He was in a relationship, and I was helplessly in love with a guy who was not interested in me (or in women, for that matter). Eventually, he got dumped and I'd just gotten in a fight with my mom and didn't want to say at my house. So I decided to go to a party with him and stay over at his dorm. When we went back to his place, he blew up and air mattress for me but I stubbornly jumped on his bed and we started joking and playing around. Eventually we kissed and kissed again and again.... It was completely unexpected. Then he told me he loved me and that his life changed when he met me. The next day, we talked it out and said we'd hold off on dating because he was fresh out of a relationship. But that didn't work. We made it official a month later and have been together ever since!" Lindsey M., 24
"We met at work and instantly vibed. Years went by, and we became great friends. But all throughout our friendship, we'd both been in relationships. Eventually, both of us broke up with our S.O.'s, and he came to a party I was throwing where someone else from work told him I was single. He started expressing his feelings to me after that, telling me he's liked me since the day we met and I knew I felt the same way. Later one night when we were hanging out, he made the first move and we ended up hooking up. I was initially terrified to start dating my best friend, but now months later, I'm happy I took the chance because now he's my lifetime partner. I'm in love with my best friend."Karla G., 26

"I thought this guy I worked with in college was super cute, but he was in a five-year long-distance relationship with his high school sweetheart, so he was completely off-limits. We would often hang out in big groups with our coworkers and eventually formed a tight friendship that way. Later that year ,when we all returned from winter break, I learned that he had broken up with his girlfriend while he was home. They had just drifted apart over the past few years of college, and he knew he didnt see a future with her. I definitely felt for him (five years is a looong time), but Id be lying if I said a tiny part of me didnt wonder if we might be a good match. "So we continued to hang out as friends while he got through his breakup, but our fun nights out in a group eventually turned into deep, late-night, one-on-one talks about anything and everything. Then one fateful night, we were hanging out at a picnic table outside my apartment after one too many drinks when it happened: We kissedand then went inside for more. Not gonna lie, it was one of the hottest nights of my life. The morning after, there was definitely some initial panic about what would happen if our coworkers and friends found outbut that also didnt stop us from continuing to hook up in secret for months. We got married eight years laterand hes still my BFF." Chelsey L., 30
The somewhere in between:

"We grew up a block from each other in elementary school, and our moms were friends in church. I'd known him for most of my life. But it wasn't until high school that I saw him as anything more than a friend. One day after school, we were hanging out and he kissed me. We ended up having sex and started dating shortly after. We dated all throughout high school, but in college we broke up after being accepted to different schools. Turns, out a relationship wasn't in the cards for us. He's married with two kids now, and I'm a single mom with a beautiful daughter. We don't talk as much as we used to. But we've never missed a birthday!" Cindy H.,

Sometimes friendship precedes a relationship, and sometimes a relationship precedes friendship...

"A few years ago, when I was in a toxic relationship, I was reunited with my college bestie-slash-roommate. One night, we were drinking and playing Mario Kart. I decided to hookup with him, and the next day, I called my then boyfriend to breakup. My roomie and I decided that there wasn't enough of a romantic connection between us, but we're still good friends. Every time I see him, I want to thank him for that night. Because had we not hooked up, I never would have dumped my toxic boyfriend and met the amazing man I'm dating now." Lisa L., 25
"He and I always had that kind of relationship. We both knew it was going to happen. And two weeks after our high school graduation, it did. We'd been friends for six years. And one night, my other friend decided to throw a party. He came and we hooked up even though he had a girlfriend at the time, which made the conversation afterwards...awkward. We decided not to date but managed to salvage our friendship. He even visited me when I first moved to New York after school. And I saw him a few weeks ago at our high school reunion. I have deep love for him in my heart, but we're not as close and we used to be...and that's okay. I still root for him." Aleah M., 24
The sad:

There are none! (None that people wanted to share, anyway.) Maybe Cocharo's theory is true, after all....

Ultimately, the decision to have sex with your best friend is completely up to the two of you and you both have to decide if it's worth the risk. If you're friendship is strong enough, as it was for many of these women, it'll survive. Good luck!

Get Fit in Just 5 Minutes With the "Fitness Snack"

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 03:00 AM PST

This is supposed to be your moment. January, start of the new year and the new, fitter you. The only problem: Its harder to find 30 minutes to get your sweat on than you thought.

The solution: Learn to snack on your fitness. Instead of devouring a full workout, squeeze in five minutes here and there for short segments of exercisesay, a few sets of 20 pushups or a circuit of five squats, five lunges, and a 30-second plank. These five-minute workoutslets trademark them as fitness snackshelp your overall health more than youd expect, burning fat and building muscle over your entire body.

Heck, they may even recalibrate how you view the term workout. CrossFit, group classes, and eight Rocky films worth of montages may have left you feeling every workout has to be epic. Not everyone can find time for an hour-long workout, says trainer Gunnar Peterson, C.S.C.S., whos worked with the likes of Sylvester Stallone and the Los Angeles Lakers. But everyone can find a few quick minutes a few times a day.

Spend five minutes between meetings doing the fitness equivalent of chomping on a handful of almonds (okay, fine: M&Ms) and you excite muscle fibers and nudge your heart rate upward without wiping out your body. And since youre never pushing yourself to max levels during a five-minute workout, you dont even need a warmup. The only problem with this approach is that no one believes its going to work, says Dan John, a Utah-based fitness historian and strength coach.

The science of the five-minute workout

Science says fitness snacks can be effective. A 2018 study from the National Cancer Institute revealed that short bouts of vigorous movement throughout the daytaking the stairs, walking, and cleaningprolonged life span as effectively as longer workouts. A separate Australian study showed that a few 30-second bursts of high-intensity training can power up your mitochondria (the energy dynamos of your cells), reducing your risk of chronic disease.

This approach has an older pedigree forged in the gym. In the 90s, trainer Pavel Tsatsouline, known for bringing Soviet workout principles to the Navy SEALs, championed something he called greasing the groove. That training technique involved doing, for example, a few sets of five reps of a difficult exercise every hour up to ten times a day. Its still one of the best ways to master pullups .

Now more and more trainers are embracing five-minute workouts. Sure, theyd love for you to be in the gym for hours, but they also know your routines greatest benefits occur early on. Ten to 15 minutes earns you 80 percent of the value of a longer workout, says Angelo Poli, whos worked with NFL star Aaron Rodgers.

All of this is practical in part because its closer to traditional training than you might think. Classic bodybuilding sequesters you in the gym for more than an hour, but that includes warming up, changing weights, and resting between sets. Calculate the time actually spent working hard and its often 20 minutes or less.

Or, you know, four daily intervals from our menu of muscle-building, fat--melting, and metabolism-fueling snacks.

The benefits of a five-minute workout

Sharper Brain Function: A quick bout of mild exercise, like slow stationarybike pedaling, can improve memory.

Rosier Mood: A 15-minute daily session of higher-intensity exercise, like running, can reduce depression risk by 26 percent.

Faster Fat Burning: Shorter-interval workouts lead to greater fat loss than long, low-intensity sweat sessions.

Zippier Metabolism: Three 20-second all-out intervals can boost insulin sensitivity for a whopping 72 hours.

Five-minute workouts for every fitness level
There's a five-minute fitness snack for every situation, whether you're aiming to lose weight, build muscle, or simply learn a new bodyweight exercise. Can't make it to the gym today? Try these fitness snacks out a few times a day.

The Starter Snack (6 minutes)

Fitness snacks are great for gym vetsand even better for those who dont exercise at all. If youre going from a sedentary lifestyle to fitness snacking, expect to see major changes. Rip through this 3-move workout with no rest 3 times a day.

Bird Dog: Get on your hands and knees, hands below shoulders, back flat, abs tight. Lift your right leg and left arm off the floor; keep your hips and shoulders square as you do. Return them to the floor. Repeat the process on the other side. Thats 1 rep; do 20.

Plank Pushup: Get in a plank, elbows below shoulders. Put your right palm on the floor below your right shoulder; straighten that arm. Do the same with your left arm; you should be in pushup position. Return to plank position. Thats 1 rep; do 20.

Walking Squat: Stand with your feet just wider than shoulder width. Step your right foot 6 inches forward. Bend at the knees and hips until your thighs are parallel to the floor. Press back up. Step your left foot forward, in front of your right by 6 inches, and repeat. Thats 1 rep; do 10.

The Swole Snack (7 minutes)

Yes, you can build muscle with your bodyweight. Just use a tempo, says bodybuilding coach Menno Henselmans. Do this circuit that way.

Handcuff: Lie on your stomach, arms lifted. Keeping your thumbs up, draw your arms outward in a wide arc. As they near your hips, bend your elbows and point your thumbs toward each other. Thats 1 rep; do 8.

Tempo Pushup: Get in pushup position. Lower your torso to within an inch of the floor; take 3 seconds to do this. Pause. Push back up. Thats 1 rep; do 10.

Skater Squat: Stand with arms extended. Lift your left foot, a pad or pillow on the floor under your left hip. Bend your right knee and lean forward slightly, lowering until your left shin touches the pad. Stand up. Thats 1 rep; do 5 per side.

The Strength Snack (3 minutes)

The every hour on the hour workout can help you improve. Pick a challenge move from the list below and, at the start of the hour, do 2 or 3 reps of it. Youll do 18 to 40 reps daily.

Supported One-Arm Pushup: Get in pushup position, grasping a support with one hand (the leg of your desk will work), palm turned forward, arm fully extended. With your other arm, slowly lower your chest to the floor; press back up. Thats 1 rep; do 2 per side.

L-Sit: Sit on a desk or chair, hands near your butt. Lift your legs, driving your knees straight. Straighten your arms, lifting your butt in the air. Hold for 3 seconds. Thats 1 rep; do 3.

Pistol Squat: Stand, then lift one leg off the floor. Bend at the knee and sit back, lowering your butt near the floor; hold a chair if needed. Stand back up. Thats 1 rep; do 3 per side.

The Weight Loss Snack (5 minutes)

Your heart rate stays elevated after just a few minutes of ultra-intense activity, so the right move at the right intensity can send you to your next meeting still burning extra calories. Do these 2 moves back-to-back and youll believe it.

Seal Jack: Start standing, arms in front of you, hands together. Jump lightly, opening your feet as you do, and spread your arms wide. Jump back to starting position. Thats 1 rep; do 15.

Mountain-Climber Burpee: Start standing, then squat, place your hands on the floor, and kick your feet back into pushup position. Tighten your abs, then lift your right foot and drive your right knee to your chest. Return to pushup position and repeat with your left leg. Do 4 total mountain climbers, then stand quickly. Thats 1 rep; do 15.

How to break-up with somebody in a mature way

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 02:30 AM PST

Breaking up is one of the hardest things to do but here's how you can break-up maturely and if not walk away with a partner, at least walk away with a friend.

A break up can be awful especially if you're on the receiving end. It can leave you feeling confused, insecure and depressed.

However, being the 'breaker upper' can be just as hard. Your mind is all over the place, wondering if you're doing the right thing or not.

A certified relationship coach, shares his five best tips for breaking up with someone properly and as maturely as possible. That's without being unnecessarily nasty, while also getting to the point and ensuring that you can walk away feeling like you've not only done the right thing but might be able to salvage a friendship from it all.

1. Be clear
People only wish to break up with someone if the person is no longer a match to their outlook, values, passions, needs and desires. So before the break up, write a list of what it is that you no longer want to be, feel or experience in a relationship so that you can be clear when you break up.

Then write down what you now want, and visualise it.

2. Fall out of love in your mind first
It's harder to break up if you keep focusing on the one moment you were happy. If you're trying to build the strength to break up with a partner, banish that thought.

Focus on the top five negative moments of your relationship. Remember what you saw, heard and felt during those times. Keep repeating the process.

3. Be kind, but strict
Breaking up can be extremely painful, not just for the person being left behind but for the person doing the leaving. Be kind and respectful as you begin to distance yourself, however be strict with your boundaries because if you're not totally clear, your partner may get mixed signals and end up staying around much longer.

4. Figure out how valuable they are

Only you can decide what your partner is worth to you. Are they worth a sit down dinner or a five-minute coffee break up? Are they worth a four-word text or one last night of passion? Sorry but only you can decide that one.

5. Look forward
Think about all of the things you are now free to be, do after breaking up. Go on a rampage of thoughts that activate happy vibes. Tomorrow's experiences are always created from the thoughts you are thinking today.

4 easy ways to lose belly fat

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 02:00 AM PST

Belly fat is usually estimated by measuring the circumference around your waist.

This can easily be done at home with a simple tape measure.

If you have a lot of excess fat around your waistline, then you should take some steps to get rid of it even if you're not very heavy overall.

Fortunately, there are a few proven strategies that have been shown to target the fat in the belly area more than other areas of the body.

Here are 4 evidence-based ways to lose belly fat.

1. Cut carbs from your diet
Carb restriction is a very effective way to lose fat. Low-carb diets also lead to quick reduction in water weight which gives people near instant results. Just avoiding the refined carbs (sugar, candy, white bread, etc) should be sufficient, especially if you keep your protein intake high.

2. Exercise is very effective at reducing belly fat
Exercise is important for various reasons. It is among the best things you can do if you want to live a long, healthy life and avoid disease. It is an effective way of getting rid of belly fats.

3. Avoid sugar and avoid sugar-sweetened drinks
Don't eat sugar and avoid sugar-sweetened drinks. When you eat a lot of added sugar, the liver gets overloaded with fructose and is forced to turn it into fat.Aerobic exercise (like walking, running, swimming, etc) has been shown to cause major reductions in belly fat in numerous studies.

4. Eat foods rich in fiber
Dietary fiber is mostly indigestible plant matter. It is often claimed that eating plenty of fiber can help with weight loss.

World's most expensive chicken costs $2,500

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:30 AM PST

Florida-based breeder Paul Bradshaw started selling them for $2,500 (£1,700) each in 2013.

The jet-black Ayam Cemani chicken is a unique breed that originated from the island of Java, Indonesia.

The all-black chickens, nicknamed the 'Lamborghini of Poultry', were his "most requested bird ever". The chicken is named after a village (Cemani) in central Java.

Their beak and tongue, black comb and wattles; even their meat, bones and organs appear black. The blood of the Ayam Cemani, however, is normally coloured. The birds' black colour occurs as a result of excess pigmentation of the tissues, caused by a genetic condition known as fibromelanosis and is also characteristic of Chinese Silkies, a black chicken treasured across China.

Collectors covet this bird because it's beautiful, exotic and hard-to-get. The roosters weigh 2–2.5 kg and the hens from 1.5–2 kg. The hens lay cream-coloured eggs with a slight pink tint.

In the past individual birds in the United States of America have been priced at $2500.

What's the difference between having sex and making love?

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:00 AM PST

Here's the major difference between making love and having sex.

One is even tempted to ask, aren't both of these things supposed to mean the same thing? After all, the bottom line is that in both situations, bodies connect and sexual sparks are sent flying. So what could possibly be the distinguishing factor between these two?

Having sex versus making love
Apparently there is a difference between the act of making love and having sex.

And the singular distinction is in the state of mind of both people engaging in the act; the level of connection and all the situations surrounding and leading up to the act itself.

Sex is in itself primal; a basic need that is just as instinctive and naturally occurring as the hunger for food. The need to satisfy the urge for sex and to feel the gratification that comes from humping is not on the same level as love-making.

Chimps, rabbits, bulls, Zebras... they all have sex. That's exactly the category into which that need belongs. It is a thing devoid of the emotional dimension that sex often comes with.

As Christina Antonyan of Thought Catalogue writes in 2016;

"It's very easy and ordinary to just have sex, but to know how to connect… on a deeper level, and win over heart, mind and soul takes a little bit of commitment.

"...sex without love is not lovemaking."

This is not to say that sex as painted in the context above is not a great thing. People have had mind-blowing one-night stands that they could never replicate with people they 'have a connection with' and supposedly 'make love with.'

Despite the moral campaigns against it, people have sex with random strangers all the time. Several forms of casual sex is indeed a thing that society brims with. People have been known to explore this anti-social aspect of their humanity to mind-blowing effect. And it's just fine so far these are consenting adults who recognise all the things that could go wrong and decide to still engage in the act - with or without adequate precautions.

On the flip side, love-making is what people aspire to when they get into relationships and marriages. It is that longing for something deeper, a deep-rooted intimacy that surpasses the passionate nights and morning quickies.

"The best part about lovemaking is that it becomes effortless, because you are not thinking about what Olympic – style performance you should put on.

You become your authentic self at that moment," adds Christina Antonyan.

Lovemaking is a summation of the affection you feel towards the person even when they are fully clothed, sharing their dreams with you and you with them. It is the concern for them and their well-being; it is the connection on a greater pedestal which continues even when the adrenaline rush of sex has dissipated. It is the days shared, memories created, problems solved together, losses suffered together, emotions shared, pain together borne, hurdles together crossed and triumphs together won.

And all these things combined make for a closeness so intimate; and this understanding beyond the visceral is what makes for the best sex ever. The type you would call love-making.
