Posted: 15 Jan 2020 06:34 AM PST The mission of America Reads * America Counts, a partnership between the University of Maryland and Prince George's County Public Schools, is to provide a high quality mentoring program that enriches learning opportunities for both college and elementary school students. Each semester, more than 250 UMD students work weekly with elementary schools in Prince George's County. UMD student participants, called "Mentors", help students develop their literacy and math skills in one-on-one or small group settings.
