The Institute for Recruitment of Teachers (IRT) empowers talented underserved and underrepresented future educators to teach and serve as leaders in American education because diversity is essential to excellence. If you are considering pursuing your MA or PhD, consider the IRT.

The IRT helps students of color and others who are committed to social justice and diversity, pursue advanced degrees within the field of Education, Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. They work with a consortium of over 40+ institutions who provide their students with application fee waivers while in-house they provide year-long one on one advising and support throughout the graduate school process.

They will be hosting an information session in partnership with Christopher Perez, the Director of the Office of Graduate Diversity and Inclusion. The information session will be held on Wednesday, 1/29/2020 in the Juan Ramon Jimenez Room, 2208 Stamp Student Union from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Anyone looking to pursue a MA or PhD in the Arts, Humanities, Education, or Social Sciences are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

The IRT accepts applications from professionals in the field, people who already have a master's degree or are currently enrolled in a master's program, recent graduates, and undergraduate juniors and seniors. Undergraduate juniors and seniors are also eligible to apply for their paid, summer residential internship. Interested candidates can RSVP here. Paid Corporate Finance Summer Internship in Arlington with Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority

As a Summer Intern, you will improve your skills and gains professional experience while performing meaningful work support the Airports Authority's operations.

Summer Intern (Corporate Finance)
This is a non-career, temporary position (10 weeks).

Serves in the Office of Finance, located at the Headquarters Office in Crystal City (Arlington), VA.

Assists Department staff with a variety of assigned activities in support of their operations. May take on more complex or varied responsibilities as knowledge and experience increase, as appropriate. Performs related functions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in the appending of financial information to the project capitalization process.
  • Performs research that may be needed for close out of projects.
  • Assists with remediation and reconciling of financial items.
  • Reviews invoice statements.
  • Prepares monthly financial reports.
  • Performs general administrative functions in support of the Office.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Skill in using common office equipment, computers and office software (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point), and the ability to learn and use other systems/software.
  • Ability to perform general analyses of data and information and make recommendations.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of and then apply learned processes, procedures, practices, systems, standards and guides to the assigned position/unit/team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Major in Accounting, or Finance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
EDUCATION
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university.
  • Pursuing a major related to the internship.

The Hinman CEOs Student Startup Incubator enables undergraduates to develop innovative startup ideas into real companies through an immersive one-year academic and residential experience. The dynamic Hinman CEOs environment is conducive to helping you every day by surrounding you with people who will mentor, inspire, and challenge you to achieve your entrepreneurial goals. While residence within Hinman CEOs South Campus Commons Two housing is recommended, it is not required.

Applications are open until February 16 for entrepreneurially-minded undergraduate students from all academic disciplines with at least one academic year left on campus to join the Fall 2020 class.
