A 60-year-old woman got married for the first time on Saturday, January 25, in Anambra state.

The woman, fondly called Aunt Nwatoka, married a widower known as Mr. Okeke.

The man is a Lagos-based businessman while the woman lives and works in Anambra state.

Sharing the news, the bride's relative wrote:

She's in her 60's and got married just yesterday for the very first time! Yes!! Isaac and I had to dash back to the village in Anambra state to witness the most beautiful wedding of this century! Aunt Nwatoka had never been married all her life. She's Isaac's aunt from his father's side and one of the best aunt in-law you can wish for. She took excellent care of my husband's grandma until she passed in her 90's. She was always there for the whole family each time we came home for Christmas or … I was personally surprised but pleasantly so when a handsome Enugukwu man Mr. Okeke decided to take her hand in marriage. Aunt Nwatoka as she's fondly called was literarily swept off her feet????. And just yesterday he wedded her at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Enugukwu, Anambra State. Mr. Okeke is a Lagos businessman while his new bride works in Anambra. Having found happiness, the groom who lost his first wife many years ago is giving himself another chance ?
And who would have thought that our dear Aunt Augustina Nwatoka at her age will ever be married! God is awesome. God is merciful. He never gives up on His children so, be positive as this year will not pass you by IJN

Lamar Odom pens down an emotional tribute to late NBA legend Kobe Bryant

Posted: 27 Jan 2020 09:00 PM PST

Former NBA star, Lamar Odom has penned down an emotional post to Kobe Bryant who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday January 26 alongside his daughter, Gianna and 7 others.

Sharing a photo with the late Basketball legend as teammates at Lakers, Lamar disclosed that Kobe taught him so many things which were necessary in life on and off the basketball court.

He added that their relationship was like that of a teacher and a brother. Odom also compared Bryant's death to the loss of his 6½-month-old son in 2009.

According to Lamar, if God had come to him when he was in coma and said he would take him and spare Kobe Bryant, he would have been okay with that.

He wrote on Instagram;

These picture are just the tip of the iceberg of our relationship. He taught me so many things in life that were necessary on and off the court. On the court he taught me how to carve out defenses and how to take my time. How to make winning my ultimate goal. Off the court he taught me to sign my own checks lol.

Of course anyone who knows my story knows I've suffered a lot of loss but the only loss I can compare this to is when I lost my son. Even though our relationship wasn't father/son, it was more like him being a teacher and me being his brother. I'm glad I got to be the ying to your yang as far as the locker room was concerned. It was my pleasure. I couldn't even catch my breath today when I heard this news. I just knew if he was in a helicopter crash he would have been the one to survive.

Somehow he would have jumped out and landed on his feet. I'm sitting here thinking about when we would be in practice scrimmaging and you would start the jump ball off with elbowing Sasha in the chest. Like dude it's 10:30 in the morning lol. You think watching him play was crazy, you gotta think in practice if you scored like 8-9 buckets throughout the practice you had a great practice.

I've seen him knock off 13-14 in a row in practice!!!! I'm still waiting for the media to come out and say wrong report. No way God took my brother this early. I know I been through my own stuff in life with using drugs and not being good to myself. When I went through that Coma situation if God would have came to me and said we would take me and spare Kobe I would have rather that happened. In honor of my brother I'm up at 4am tomorrow to get to the gym! Gigi gone give you buckets!!!! I love you brother

Posted: 27 Jan 2020 06:00 AM PST

Popular Fashion designer and stylist, Toyin Lawani took to social media to advise single mothers on how to manage their children and their baby fathers.

She took to her Instagram page to share a picture of her baby daddy, Trigga and she asked that people support him on his new music while adding that while it is okay to forgive, they should never forget.

"The betterment and mental state of The being that didn't beg you people to Bring he or she to life , you have to make it all work out, you don't have to be close ,but you can let them feel fatherly love, if a kid grows up in a divided home, they will grow up thinking like that and acting like that, and that's how they will treat women, but when you show a United form infront of them , they will know better , even when you turn back 5secs later and corse each other out, you must find the inner strength to show up for important things for your kids, no woman can ever replace the space of a father in life, no matter how you try or how hard we work we can't replace dads, men will always fuck up, some won't even support in caring of the kid and feel entitled and even if you replace their fathers space with a Good role model, they will still grow up knowing that aint their papa, but you have to look past that and Show a United form for your kids.. Great leaders weren't made in a day , they were trained from young . Their thinking and upbringing matters a lot. Eg trump and his wife the way they behave publicly and Obama and his wife the way they behave publicly, for Obama you will know love leads, so how can you ask someone like trump to show love to other countries 路‍♀️ when the man don't know the 1st word of love amongst his family, take a moment and think about it. This is to everyone out there hurting or regretting, let go and see what God will bring into your life, unlimited happiness, a sad person can never make anyone else happy in life. Make your kids happy❤️ women need to stop blocking kids from their dads as form of punishment, na dem offend you?

@triggagoddafi we wish you well on your new adventure. Y'all go follow and support him on his new music dropping soon. Everyone needs to learn how to forgive but don't forget oo."

Shan George shares her testimony – “I was very scared of death and not being able to walk again”

Posted: 27 Jan 2020 02:30 AM PST

Veteran Nollywood actress cum filmmaker is still very grateful to God for sparing her life and given a second chance to live again, after the doctors gave a 50-50 chance.

In 2019, Shan George had a terrible sickness that not only cost her much financially but disrupted her career.

According to her interview with The Punch, the ugly development started two years back, "Sometime in late 2018, I had just finished organising the artistes that would be on the governor's band for the Calabar carnival in December.

After all the rigorous activities, I suddenly realised that my knee was swollen. I didn't understand what was going on, so I just attributed it to the carnival stress.

I took some drugs and rested for a couple of days expecting to be up and about in a couple of days. However, by early, January, the pain had increased. I kept managing it by using pain killers, but by March, it had become worse. I then started going to hospitals to find out what was wrong.

She continued, "Eight months later, my left leg was almost paralysed. I was already bedridden for some months. That was when my doctor asked me to do a series of tests because I had been on medication since January and I wasn't getting any better.

They wanted to know if there was any disease in me that had been feeding on the medications I was taking. All the tests came out negative and they had to do a MRI scan.

After the scan, they found out I had lumbar spondylosis, which is a disease of the spine. There is no medication for it and they told me it was a surgery that could correct it; it was a 50/50 situation. I had the surgery on August 29, 2019, and it was successful. (As a result of the illness), I didn't do anything for the whole of 2019.

"However, my first son really encouraged me. I was really scared and he said, 'You know you are a child of God. You fear God; worship and pray to Him all the time'. He told me not be afraid, that the surgery would be successful.

"I was also scared because I didn't have the finances to go for a surgery abroad. I had just finished making a movie and my mum had been ill for a while. I was very scared of death and not being able to walk again."
