Burna Boy loses BRIT Award to Tyler The Creator

On February 19, 2020, Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy lost the Best Male International at BRIT Award 2020 to Grammy-winning American rapper, Tyler The Creator.

On January 11, 2020, Pulse revealed that the Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy was nominated for Best International Male artist at the BRIT Awards 2020 alongside Americans, Bruce Springsteen, Dermot Kennedy, Tyler The Creator and Post Malone.

This also comes after the Grammy nomination that Burna Boy received form his critically-acclaimed album, African Giant. On the night, Burna Boy performed songs like, Stormzy's 'Own It' and especially aced his performance of, 'Anybody.'


The BRIT Awards 2020 is the 40th edition of the British Phonographic Industry's annual pop music awards. Jack Whitehall hosted the show for the third year running. Nominations were led by British rapper of Nigerian descent, Dave and singer, Lewis Capaldi.

Big winners on the night were Santan Dave, British-born rapper of Nigerian descent who took home the gong for Album of The Year. Lewis Capaldi, Stormzy and Billie Eilish.

she said there are so many fake people around the world and Instagram has just made it worse.

Anthony Joshua shared an adorable photo of him spending time with his son Joseph Joshua.

The world boxing heavyweight is having a good time, his last match against Andy Ruiz ended in victory. He disclosed that the fight was his second favourite in his career. His victory over Klitschko was his No1 due to his respect for his opponent.


In the photo taken in the pool, Anthony tossed his son high in the air.

The professional boxer went on to declare his love for his son, writing: "To infinity & beyond."

Nkechi Blessing curses those who are not pleased at the new car she bought as birthday gift

Actress Nkechi Blessing has laid a curse on those who were not pleased at the news that she bought a new car for herself.

The actress who had her birthday on Valentine's Day took to social media with a picture of a black Toyota Venza which she bought as gift for herself.

The ride is an addition to a white Toyota Venza she bought two years ago.
However, not everyone on social media celebrated the new acquirement with her.

While some congratulated her, some were skeptical about the source of wealth or whether it's just a publicity stunt.


This didn't sit well with Nkechi Blessing who wrote:

"Without my Gist in their mouth they gat toothache Fam..Me I am Just doing me if you Have a problem with me,Kindly Hit your head on the wall I was told they will gather when I start releasing it one by one,I swear I won't keep the next news to myself,You must cry as you no like Good things,Good thing will RUN far from you in Jesus name".

Olamide goes global as YBNL and Empire sign joint venture deal

Nigerian singer, Olamide and Fireboy have just gone global, after YBNL signed a joint venture deal with EMPIRE Distribution.

EMPIRE Distribution, Records and Publishing Inc. is an American distribution company and record label founded in 2010 by Ghazi Shami and headquartered in San Francisco, California with offices in New York City, London, and Atlanta.

Empire has partnership deals with big names like, XXXTentacion, SZA, Kendrick Lamar, Tyga and the likes.

Announcing the news, Olamide wrote on Twitter.

"Happy to announce that YBNL and Empire got a joint venture deal. Myself and Fireboy with any other act i sign next ready to shake the world. 🌎

"Big thanks to the fans for holding on for so long and believing.. switching it up n fvcking the world up is the motive . So make nobody fear when gobe start."

This is a really big one for the singer who has been polarized by some fans and critics for not breaking into the international scene.

Also confirming the new, Empire shared images on Olamide signing the new deal, writing;

"Nigeria going global 🇳🇬🌍 Excited to continue this journey with you and the YBNL family"

IG blogger exposes Bobrisky, says news that driver stole his car is damage control

An Instagram blogger has revealed that Bobrisky lied when he said that his Mercedes Benz and some money were stolen from him by his driver.

Bobrisky had taken to social media with the claim saying:

"Dis dude was my former driver…. He has stolen from me severally but he always beg and I do let it slide. At some point I sent him away just to avoid stress for myself. Last months he called me to beg again that he want to come back and work that he has change. He said his boss sent him away where he was working at d moment and he is so broke that he doesn't have money to feed. Because my heart is so clean towards human I allow him come back again.


"Now he has stolen from me again. Dis time is even worst . I gave him my Benz cla 300 to drop at Benz office in IKATE lekki to fix a sound am hearing on d right leg on 9th of February 2020. When he was going I gave him 200,000 to hold Incase there is anything we are changing in d car and d workshop fee since I was traveling.

That very day I was traveling I sent 396,000 to his account to replace some stuffs in my house too. Up till now I didn't see my car, or money. He has been running everywhere. Pls have I done bad helping stupid people like dis? Have reported him to d police thou so he should keep running. All his phones are switch off 0816 423 1283. 0705 965 5174".

His words have now been described as damage control by @gistmerchant who shared on Instagram:

"News was about to break that the person Bobrisky borrowed mercedes from has come to carry the car so for damage control, he has quickly come out with a story that his former driver has run away with his car and money.

Things are falling apart left right and centre for Bob these days, his money from all manner of business scams he is using to life fake life is going down. Audio bentley since last year we never see, this remaining range rover, the owner will some come and carry it too. Tor.."

Ghanaian actress and media personality, Efia Odo took to her Insta-story to share a damning statement on religion.

Efia Odo in her post stated that the "creator of universe has no religion." She also stated that religion was created by men to relegate women.

The actress backed her claim by stating that "there are no female angels. She added that religion keeps one limited.

She wrote in the post;


"The creator of this universe has no religion! Religion was created by humans specifically the males. Reason why they make the gods in religion male and relegate the female energy to the background. No surprise they have no female angels. Religion keeps you limited."

'Namaste Wahala' is an upcoming Bollywood/ Nollywood film directed by Hamisha Daryani Ahuja

Indian businesswoman turned filmmaker, Hamisha Daryani Ahuja has released the first look at her upcoming romantic comedy 'Namaste Wahala' .

Hamisa announced back in January via an Instagram post that she would be delving into film making while opening up about the upcoming feature film. She revealed that it was going to explore cultural experiences between India and Nigeria.

She shared "With nothing but passion for film, I embarked on a journey to make a feature film that is a melting pot of my cultural experiences between India and Nigeria. The moment I made this decision, I knew that It would require that I give it focused energy in faith, and watch it all manifest."
According to the lead actress, Ini Dima- Okojie, filming for 'Namaste Wahala' has wrapped up which means it'll be dazzling the big screens soon.

The new rom-com also stars Nollywood veterans Ajoke Silva and Richard Mofe Damijo alongside Instagram sensation Broda Shaggi and Rap music star MI Abaga.

China shares an official guide to control coronavirus with Nigeria.

Despite the fact that no coronavirus case has been confirmed in Nigeria, the Chinese government has sent an official guide on treating the deadly virus to authorities of Africa's most populous nation.

The Chinese embassy in Nigeria, in a statement, confirmed that the official guide on coronavirus was shared with Nigeria, and other countries through an official channel.

The treatment guide include -Lab Test Procedure, Epidemic Update and Risk Assessment, Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol, Management of close contacts, Surveillance and Epidemiological Investigation.

The statement read partly, "Official Guide Documents on preventing and controlling the novel coronavirus pneumonia have been provided by China National Health Commission to its counterpart in Nigeria and other countries through official channel."

The first case of coronavirus, which is believed to have originated from bats, was recorded in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019.

In a latest development, CNN reports that the virus has killed more than 1,000 people globally since the outbreak began, and no less than 40,000 persons have been infected.

15-year-old actress, Nikita Pearl Waligwa dies after a prolonged battle with brain tumour

Ugandan teen actress, Nikita Pearl Waligwu has died of complications resulting from a brain tumour.

According to a BBC report, the 15-year-old 'Queen of Katwe' star was first diagnosed with brain tumour in 2016. After receiving treatment in India, she was certified tumour-free in 2017.

She died on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at TMR International Hospital, in Naalya, Kampala from another tumour that was reportedly found last year.

Waligwu starred as Gloria, a close friend of lead character, Phiona in the 2016 Disney biographical drama based on Ugandan chess player Phiona Mutesi.

TBoss is crying out over the constant bullying her daughter is faced with on social media

One video that kept a lot of people glued to their phones over the weekend was that of former Big Brother Naija reality TV star, TBoss weeping over unfair comments about her child on Instagram.

The reality TV star took to her Instagram Live on Sunday, February 16, 2020, where she slammed those who have called her daughter ugly.

The mother of one said despite the insults she has been getting over her child, her daughter remains her greatest and biggest achievement so far in life.

"'You have a very unspecial and ugly child'. Leave her like that for me. This is the best thing that has happened to me. I am a very proud single mother," she said.

"I have amazing friends and they love her so much. My baby has so many aunties who genuinely love her and take care of her.

My child is my greatest achievement. my biggest blessing and I love her so much. For you to come and tell me that my child is not special, you will not carry your child."


A visibly angry TBoss said she was shocked that people would casually walk into her comments section and say hurtful things about her child.

"You cannot casually walk into my page for me to come and see, do you have a brain? How can you do that? People need to be mindful of the things they go and say," she further said.

"You might know me as TBoss the celebrity but I have been TBoss, the big sister, TBoss the loudmouth, TBoss the friend to my family and friends forever.

And apart from that, I'm a very emotional person. I have a reckless mouth so I try my best to behave myself because my mouth puts me in trouble because no matter what I say, I would be misinterpreted."

TBoss made the headlines in 2019 after it was revealed that she was heavily pregnant. First were the rumours of who the father of the then-unborn baby was.

In August 2019, she finally announced the arrival of her baby on Instagram.

 The premiere of 'Who's The Boss,' which happens to be Naz Onuzo's directorial debut has taken place in Lagos.

The event which took place at the Filmhouse Cinemas, Lekki, was attended by a number of celebrities. The red carpet kicked off at about 6:30 PM with the guests strolling in their numbers.

Eminem’s ‘Rap God’ video surpasses 1 billion views on Youtube, 6 years after its release

Rapper and record producer, Eminem's music video for song 'Rap God' eclipsed one billion views on video sharing site Youtube.

"Rap God" video was released in 2013 had over 990,000 views on Friday last week before Eminem, 47 years of age, gave it a last push by sharing links to the video on his social media pages for fans to go and watch the video.

"Rap God" is the third Eminem video to surpass 1 billion view.

His track "Not Afraid" and "Love the Way You Lie," featuring Rihanna, have also surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube. Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," is currently the most watched video on YouTube, with over 6.6 billion views as of Monday.

Eminem, real names Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, record executive and actor. Georgina Ibeh devastated after losing dad

Nigerian actress and brand influencer, Georgina Ibeh is in mourning following the death of her father Ogaraku Charles Amaobi Ibeh.

Making a public announcement on her social media page, Georguna disclosed that the father, Charles Ibeh, fought so hard before his death.
