Juliet Njemanze: After God, sex is most important

Posted: 11 Mar 2020 01:30 AM PDT

Beautiful and sexy Nollywood actress, Juliet Njemanze who rose to fame with her class act role in Obi Emenloye's "Calabash" is not one who beats about the bush when it comes to her feelings and opinions. In a recent chat with Potpourri the Imo State-born actress who is the first child and the only girl of four siblings, opened up on sex, love and relationship.

"For me, apart from knowing God and all … sex is the next most important. He has to be good in bed. It's definitely sex before money because you could give me all the money in the world, if I'm not sexually satisfied, I will definitely cheat on you," she said when asked what was more important to her in a relationship among love, money and sex.

But when it comes to picking up roles, picking up sex scene roles don't work for Juliet. She said there are certain roles she cannot interpret because of her personal convictions.

"There are certain characters that I can't play and there are certain things I can't do. If the role requires me to be blasphemous or to say something that goes against my faith in God, I won't take the role. I can't do sex scenes. I can do romance but not sex. I'm not 'churchy' but I'm spiritual.

"I'm very much in touch with my spiritual side. I love God and I pray and read my Bible. I might not necessarily go to church every Sunday or attend church programmes, but I'm spiritual," she added. Describing her kind of person, she said, "I'm a very honest person. I detest lies and deceit. I'm real to the core.

"I don't know how to sugar-coat things or be 'diplomatic'. People who are fake call it being diplomatic. I also take my work very seriously. I play but when it's time to work I just work. "

Juliet Njemanze properly started acting in 2013 with Okey Ifeanyi's "Tears in my Heart" before making her breakthrough in 2015 in Obi Emelonye's 'Calabash'.

Daddy Freeze disagrees with counsellor who told women they’ll never find peace if they refuse to give their husbands peace

Posted: 11 Mar 2020 01:00 AM PDT

Daddy Freeze has reacted to a statement made by a Ghanaian counsellor that women will not have peace if they refuse to give their husbands peace.

Freeze opposed the statement and added that "giving peace" is not the duty of one party. He said that years ago, he might have agreed with the counsellor but experience has taught him that it isn't always that way.

He wrote:

Ten years ago I'd have agreed with her wholeheartedly. Today, with the experience that I've gained, it's a totally different ball game.

-Giving peace' is the job of both parties. I give @tastebudzng peace, she gives me peace in return; or she gives me peace and I return her peace and the peace is maintained.

-No woman can continue to give peace to a man who doesn't reciprocate her gesture and no man can give peace to a feisty and troublesome woman. –
Peace has to be I. Equilibrium. This doesn't mean you won't have issues from time to time or you won't have quarrels but being peaceful and peaceable should be the utmost priority of both husbands and wives

Joro Olumofin: ‘90% of Nigerian women would rather be “Mrs” & Depressed than Miss & happy’

Posted: 11 Mar 2020 12:30 AM PDT

Social media relationship expert, Joro Olumofin shared on his Instagram page reasons why ladies are desperate to get married.

According to the love doctor, 90% of Nigerian women would rather be "Mrs" & Depressed than Miss & happy.

He added that so many ladies believe marriage is an accomplishment which is why they are desperate.

In his words,

"The title Mrs has done more harm than Good to women. A lot of women are suffering and going through emotional pain just to hold on to that title " Mrs". Its psycological.

"The term "Mrs" makes alot alot of women feel accomplished. A man has always been "MR" all his life. Even from when he was a 13year old boy, A man has been called " MR". A lady who has been Miss most of her life goes through the following:

"(1) While she was " Miss" her firends who became "Mrs" cut her off.

"(2) Society neglects and mocks her because she's a miss. When she finally becomes a "Mrs" her "id" (Insinctive Impulses) does anything to protect that title "Mrs" even if it means :

"(1) Accommodating Infidelity

"(2) Physical Abuse

"(3)Emotional Abuse… If a marriage doesn't work society sees it as her fault that she couldn't keep a home. The value of a single father is more than a single father is more than a single mother in the eyes of the society. Ladies please change the narrative and enjoy your life. 90% of Nigerian women would rather be "Mrs" and depressed than Miss and happy. Don't let "Mrs" define your happiness.""

Sanusi's dethronement, banishment, restriction of movement and detention are illegal – Femi Falana SAN
Femi Falana SAN

Yesterday, the Kano state government held an executive council meeting presided over by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. At the said meeting the  Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was accused of having disrespected  the Governor  by not attending official meetings and displaying  utter disdain for constituted authority.

And without giving the Emir any opportunity to react to the allegations the executive council tried him, found him guilty and announced his removal from the throne.  Apart from deposing the Emir without affording him the opportunity to defend himself Governor Ganduje was the accuser, the prosecutor, witness and judge at the inquisition which lasted for about 5 minutes. At the end of the inquisition the accused was convicted and sentenced to dethronement. As if the reckless violations of the Emir's right to fair hearing were not sufficient  Governor Ganduje proceeded to order the indefinite restriction of the deposed Emir's movement and indefinite detention at Loko, Nasarawa State.

Thus, the fundamental rights of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to personal liberty and freedom of locomotion  guaranteed  by sections  35 and 41 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended and article 6 and 12 of the African Charter on Human and People's Rights (Ratification and Enforcement Act Cap A9, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 have also been violated. Since  the Kano state government  lacks the power to abrogate the fundamental rights of  Sanusi Lamido Sanusi without following a procedure permitted by law his banishment and detention in Nasarawa State are illegal in every material particular.

At the time the British colonial regime engaged   in the  dethronement, banishment,  restriction of movement  and detention of traditional rulers who opposed the looting of the resources of the colonial territory of  Nigeria the  fundamental rights of all colonial subjects were not recognised in spite of the much touted Magna Carta.  Hence, some of the traditional rulers who were deposed and banished to remote islands abroad where they were killed.  The Britain colonial regime got away with such atrocities because colonial powers at the material time operated outside the ambit of law and civilised standards. But under the current democratic dispensation in Nigeria no state government has the power to remove a traditional ruler and subject him to banishment and detention without following due process.

In the case of Attorney General & Commissioner of Justice, Kebbi State vs. HRH Al- Mustapha Jokolo (2013) LPELR-22349  the Court of Appeal (per ADUMEIN, J.C.A.) held inter alia:

"The Governor of Kebbi State has no right to act outside the clear and unambiguous provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (applicable to this case). Section 35 (1) of the said Constitution provides that every citizen of Nigeria is "entitled to his personal liberty and no person shall be deprived of such liberty" except in the circumstances set out in subsections (a) to (f) thereof. Section 40 of the same Constitution provides that "every person is entitled to assemble freely and associate with other persons". On the issue at hand, Section 41(1) of the Constitution is germane and it provides thus: '41 - (1) Every citizen of Nigeria is entitled to move freely throughout Nigeria and to reside in any part thereof, and no citizen of Nigeria shall be expelled from Nigeria or refused entry thereto or exit therefrom. (2) Nothing in subsection (1) of this section shall invalidate any law that is reasonably justifiable in a democratic society - (a) imposing restrictions on the residence or movement of any person who has committed or is reasonable suspected to have committed a criminal offence in order to prevent him from leaving Nigeria; or (b) providing for the removal of any person from Nigeria to any other country to - (i) be tried outside Nigeria for any criminal offence, or (ii) undergo imprisonment outside Nigeria in execution of the sentence of a court of law in respect of a criminal offence of which he has been found guilty: Provided that there is reciprocal agreement between Nigerian and such other country in relation to such matter. The appellant has not been able to show that the banishment of the 1st respondent from Gwandu Emirate in Kebbi State and his deportation to Obi in Nasarawa State were in accordance with the clear provisions of Section 41 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999. The banishment and deportation from Kebbi State by the Governor of Kebbi State, on or about the 3rd of June, 2005 of the 1st respondent to Lafia in Nasarawa State and later to Obi, also in Nasarawa State, is most unconstitutional, and illegal. By the said banishment and deportation, the 1st respondent has been, unduly and wrongfully denied his constitutional rights 'to respect for the dignity of his person'; 'to assemble freely and associate other persons' - including the people of Gwandu Emirate of Kebbi State; and to 'move freely throughout Nigeria and to reside in any part thereof' as respectively provided in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999."

Therefore, the Kano State Government should  release Sanusi forthwith and allow him to enjoy his fundamental rights to personal liberty and freedom of locomotion as well as the right to contest his removal from the Kano throne if he so desires.

"Sanusi Beheaded Gideon Akaluka" - Femi Fani Kayode reveals shocking details
Emir, Muhammad Sanusi 11 and Chief Femi-Fani-Kayode

Chief Femi-Fani-Kayode, Nigeria's former Aviation Minister, has accused the dethroned Emir, Muhammad Sanusi 11 of beheading Gideon Akaluka.

The ex-Minister of Aviation disclosed this in a write-up which he shared via his Facebook page:

Read below:

Now that he that beheaded Gideon Akaluka has been deposed it is time to bring him to justice for murder.

Akaluka was butchered by a Kano mob in the mid-1990's for allegedly desecrating the Koran.

The deposed one led that crowd, severed his head from his body and paraded it on a long pole.

He was hidden from Abacha in a Sokoto prison for two years after committing this heinous crime whilst all his co-conspirators were summarily executed by the security forces.

A prominent banker whose son has been convicted of Islamist terrorism in America intervened on his behalf, begged Abacha and consequently he was later set free and allowed to go down south and into banking.

The full edition of this story will be told on another day.

Below are some comments culled from the page:

Okeke Jaja Ohiaeri
Gideon Ifeanyi Akaluka, was my in-law.
He got married to my sister in 1993 and was murdered in late December 1994.
May his soul continue to hunt and hurt those that contributed to his death one after the other.

ACCEPTANCE SPEECH

"The throne of an emir is not permanent, every king and leader should know this.
If it was a permanent throne,I wouldn't have been the emir of Kano.
Before I came someone was emir and before him someone else was there.
Whenever God says your time on the throne is over,if you don't leave with your legs, people will carry your body out of the palace.
It is God that gives power and it is God that takes power.

Olofu Godwin Mtn
No one takes Sanusi's position. His standing view point on poor governance, commitment to change, amongst others remained a legacy in the history of Nigeria. Long live HRH in exile.

Akinola Akinbuwa
With all sense of belonging I strongly dislike and condemned this particular write up by Hon brother FFK, we all know that the deed as been long done while today marks the D day, take it or leave it sanusi have already created a hole in the heart of good people of Kano State and the entire northerners is an advocate of peace, a voice of the voiceless and a leader per excellent, I believe if God willing he will surely come back and let gandoller remain in Power forever. They are using the word that he speaks during elrufai birthday to nail him but sooner or later they will bite their fingers.

Meremikwu Chukwudi Splendour
Just remembered Gideon very lovely and lively person serving his master Agbakaja alias Aku na ata ahu at Enugu road Umuokwara Orlu. Married the daughter of his master after he was settled and relocated to Kano. Till today his blood is still crying for justice

Photos from the wedding of ex Ogun state governor Gbenga Daniel’s son

Posted: 10 Mar 2020 07:30 AM PDT

It is every parent's dream to see their children get married when they are alive and such a dream came to past in the life of the former governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, popularly known as OGD.

One of Otunba Daniel's sons, Olurotimi Daniel, got married to his heartthrob, Nefisat Mahmud. The wedding was that of Christian marrying a Muslim and the ceremony was conducted in both ways to accommodate the two religious beliefs of the families joining together as one.

For Nefisat, being from a Muslim background, a wedding Nikkah was necessary and the Daniel gladly participated in the Islamic wedding to solemnised their son and daughter-in-law's union on Friday, March 6.

After the Nikkah, a proper Yoruba traditional wedding was held for the couple by the two families involved.

The groom was accompanied by his friends who were all gaily dressed in the Yorba traditional and could be mistaken for the groom if not for the colour differentiation of the husband-to-be outfit.

Controversial Nigerian Rapper, Naira Marley has reacted to a leaked video of himself and a random lady whom he 'slept with' in Dubai.

In his usual manner, Naira Marley did not show any sort of remorse or concern for the backlash he could get as he simply said "Dido Lobo", which is roughly translated as "P**sy is meant to be f**ked".

In another post, he said, "You cannot make a shameless man feel ashamed"

In related news, the Soappy singer, on Wednesday took to one of his social media handles, Twitter to correct people on the meaning they gave the lyrics of one of his song, Opotoyi.

The clarification comes after a follower hinted on the sexual innuendos in the song.

A fan with the name, Numero Uno @Ayokunu, recently took to Twitter to hail the singer for 'Da kin to da', a line in the song, which has become one of the most popularly slang now used on the street.

"When Naira Marley said 'da kin to da' that was when I made up my mind I'd vote for him if he runs for presidency. He's considerate," he wrote.

The line, which is believed to have sexual undertones when translated mean 'cum before I cum'.

But another translation connotes: 'roll your dice before I roll mine.' This Naira Marley claimed was what he meant as he responded to the tweet saying: "I was talking about rolling a dice by the way. Y'all just got dirty mind."
