Africa's richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has pledged the sum of N200million to support Government to combat Coronavirus; code named Covid-19 spread in Nigeria.The billionaire made the donation through his Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) as support to the Federal Government to contain the spread of the deadly virus in the country.The Chief Executive Officer, of Aliko Dangote Foundation, Ms. Zouera Youssoufou, in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos, disclosed that the donation was part of the Foundation's cardinal objective.Youssoufou said that the foundation had support for facilities that would assist prevent, assess and respond to health events at Points of Entry to ensure National Health Security, valued at N124million.According to her, the foundation's support also include surveillance and epidemiology, where facilities worth N36 million will be provided by the foundation to support the government's effort.The CEO also recalled that, the Aliko Dangote Foundation had committed about N1 billion to the fight against Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Africa.  | ||

| EFCC witness in Naira Marley’s fraud case submits report of exhibit in the singer’s phone Posted: 03 Mar 2020 07:17 AM PST  The trial of Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) called in its second witness to testify against Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley, during the continuation of the singer's cyber fraud trial on Thursday February 27.Naira Marley is facing an 11-count charge bordering on conspiracy, possession of counterfeit cards and fraud.Testifying in court, EFCC's second witness Mr Anosike Augustine who is a mobile forensic expert with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), recalled how he analysed the contents of an iPhone 11 allegedly retrieved from Naira Marley during an investigation.He told Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos that he produced a report of his findings after extracting and analyzing the evidence recovered from the singer's phone.However, after EFCC moved to submit the 30-page report, Naira Marley's counsel and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Olalekan Ojo objected to the tendering of the document.Ojo insisted that it was not part of the documents front-loaded to the defence team and he was unaware of its contents. Justice Oweibo subsequently adjourned the case to allow the defence and prosecution team to sort out and reconcile whether the report was front-loaded or not.  | ||
| OAP Daddy Freeze speaks on people who go far to worship God, says they need their head examined Posted: 03 Mar 2020 05:00 AM PST  Controversial Nigerian OAP Ifedayo Olarinde popularly known as Daddy Freeze has taken to his social media page to criticise people who travel far away from their homes to attend church services.The OAP said that Christians claimed to be worshiping an omnipresent God, yet they travel to places as far as Ota in Ogun state and the Lagos Ibadan expressway every Sunday to worship him.Daddy Freeze quoted a passage from the holy bible where Jesus Christ said that a time would come when worshippers would no longer need to visit different places to worship. He noted that it was either these people who travel far for church services do not know what omnipresent means or they needed their heads checked.He also shared a photo with the meaning of the word, omnipresent, on it.Countering his post, a commenter identified as doraslash told the radio personality that Jesus went to the temple when he knew that he could gather people in his house every Sabbath day. According to her, he knew the essence of the temple. Responding to her statement, Daddy Freeze said that Jesus did not have a house, unlike present-day pastors. According to him, Jesus did not need a house because he knew that a time would come when there would be no need for a temple. | Pop Smoke’s family release official statement on his tragic death Posted: 03 Mar 2020 04:30 AM PST  Family of rapper, Pop Smoke have published an official statement to address the death of the 20years old rapper, a week after he was shot and killed in his home in Hollywood Hill.He was shot and killed in what TMZ reports was a home invasion robbery. Pop Smoke, whose real name, Bashar Jackson, was apparently murdered on February 19 at 04:30 AM.He was later rushed to Cedars Sinai hospital where he was pronounced dead.According to a statement issued on Friday, his family thanked all of his fans and friends for the support and love they have received following his sudden demise."The family of Bashar 'Pop Smoke' Jackson would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone for your support," the Jackson family writes. "Every prayer, call, and act of kindness is deeply appreciated as we mourn the loss of our son, brother and friend. Brooklyn knew him as Bashar, He was educated and nurtured in Brooklyn and his rise to fame all developed from the place he proudly represented. Within the last year, his extraordinary gifts were revealed to the world: introducing Pop Smoke. Unfortunately, there are no public details available regarding the murder of our loved one. We ask you to respect the responsible reporting during this crucial time. Thank you for respecting our family and the legacy of Bashar during this time." According to his autopsy report, the official cause of death was a gunshot to the torso. He was 20 years old. | Yul Edochie says he didn't kneel when he proposed to his wife Posted: 03 Mar 2020 02:30 AM PST Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie believes it's not a big deal for a man to kneel to propose to a woman. The actor expressed his opinion on the controversial subject of kneeling for women barely a month after his father, Pete Edochie said it is totally wrong for a man to kneel when proposing to a woman.The 73-year-old actor had argued in a video interview that if a man bends his knees to propose, the woman would become the head of the family.But his son, Yul Edochie in an interview with Pulse said kneeling for a woman is not that serious, even though he believes his father's view on the matter was right to a large extent. He said, "To a large extent, the man is right. You know, it's not our culture. It is foreign for people to kneel. But it is really no big deal. It is not that serious. Whether you kneel down to propose or lie down to propose, it doesn't change anything. A woman who is going to leave you would leave you. | Nollywood actor, Pa Kasumu is dead Posted: 03 Mar 2020 02:00 AM PST  Pa Kasumu died after a brief illness.Veteran Nollywood actor, Kayode Odumosu better known as Pa Kasumu is dead.Pa Kasumu's death was announced by Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola-Salako on her Instagram page on Sunday, March 1, 2020. According to her, the actor died after a brief illness.  She wrote, "Our model veteran actor Pa kasunmu Kayode Odumosu finally takes a bow. It is with so much heavy pain in our hearts that we regret to announce ur in Para, that our #paraafricafoundation model actor Pa kasunmu has given up the ghost after a brief illness. The news was broken by a close source that stays around the hospital he gave up the ghost. We will keep u updated with further information on this." Pa Kasumu died at the age of 66. May his soul rest in peace.  |
