How to Watch the Arnold Classic

Posted: 09 Mar 2020 02:30 AM PDT

Earlier this week, state and city officials and Arnold Schwarzenegger himself had to break the bad news to the fitness world that one of its biggest, most diverse events wouldn't be going on as planned. The Arnold Classic Sports Festival 2020, the huge consumer expo and sports competition held annually in Columbus, Ohio, was postponed as the world addresses the issues presented by the ongoing spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus .

But the postponement only applies to the convention, which was expected to draw nearly 250,000 fitness fans. The competitions, which range from staples like bodybuilding, strongman, and powerlifting to MMA, medieval fighting, and Scottish Highland Games, are still happening, albeit with smaller audiences (local affiliate WHIO reports that the 4,000 spectators who had already purchased tickets to the Arnold Classic Finals on Saturday night will still be allowed to attend, as this number of people does not contradict CDC guidelines).

The events are already underwaybut you'll still be able to catch some of the most exciting action on the Arnold Sports Festival YouTube channel , which will host live streams of the marquee events. Check out the event schedule here for a full list of when the competitions will take place.

One of the big ticket events is the Arnold Strongman Classic, which pits a healthy Hafthor Bjrnsson against reigning World's Strongest Man Martins Licis for the first time since Licis took the title from an injured Bjrnsson at last year's WSM championship . Bjrnsson, who recently deadlifted over 1,000 pounds for multiple reps in a training session with Licis , is the Arnold Classic defending champ. Licis is also in prime position for a strong performance, after beating four-time World's Strongest Man Brian Shaw to qualify at the Arnold Strongman USA event earlier this year . The events begin on Friday, then wrap up on Saturday.

The Arnold Strongman Classic 2020 Schedule

Friday, March 6 - 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Eastern)

Homemade remedies to get rid of foot odours

Posted: 09 Mar 2020 02:00 AM PDT

While the foot odour can be very embarrassing and annoying, and they have a way of affecting your freedom in public places.

Foot odours are triggered by the build-up sweat in the feet which eventually creates an environment for the growth of bacteria. The growth of these bacteria is responsible for the odour that comes out when you put off your shoe.

It's quite important to take care of this odour if you don't want to keep embarrassing yourself in places where you have to pull off your shoes. We figured many people often have smelly feet.

Well, we found a way to get rid of this odour naturally. Here are homemade remedies that would help you get rid of foot odour.

Saltwater
This is one of the simplest homemade remedies for foot odour. Salt has antimicrobial properties that can help prevent the growth of bacteria on your feet.

This eventually prevents odour. All you need to do is add a tablespoon of salt to two cups of hot water and mix properly in a bowl.

Dip your feet in the mixture for about ten to fifteen minutes once daily. Pat your feet with a clean towel after.

Lemon juice
Lemon is known to inhibit the growth of bacteria because of its antibacterial properties. It also has a deodorizing effect on the skin as it keeps foot odour at bay.

Mix lemon juice with two cups of warm water and soak your feet in the mixture for ten to twenty minutes. Clean your feet.

This process is preferably done before putting on your shoes.

Coconut oil
Due to the moisturizing properties of coconut oil, it has the ability to make your feet soft. Its antimicrobial properties stops the growth of bacteria on your feet.

Just massage your feet with coconut oil every night and leave the oil on overnight. Rinse it the following morning.

Vanessa Hudgens Debuts New NSFW Tattoo

Posted: 09 Mar 2020 01:30 AM PDT

  1. Vanessa Hudgens just debuted a new NSFW tattoo in an Instagram photo.
  2. This is his second tattoo of 2020 after getting a sunflower in January.
  3. People started judging and criticizing her ink choice in the post's comments section.

Only three months into 2020, and Vanessa Hudgens has shown she's ringing in the new decade with some new tattoos. In fact, the 31-year-old actress just got her second tat of the year on March 5.

The Bad Boys For Life star showed off her new ink on Instagram and yeah, its NSFW. "Divine feminine angel not me.... my tat. But you can call me that, if you want to #thirstythursday @drag_ink," she captioned her post.

The tattoo, which is on the side of Vanessa's ribcage, features a curvy naked angel with curly hair cascading down past her butt. Theres also a star over her head and halo-like circles over her body.

While plenty of people were here for the new ink, others were a little judgy-wudgy about the whole thing. "What number tat does this make? 10?!" one fan said. "Shes been spiraling after her breakup," another said. "Im not happy about this," someone else chimed in.

You might remember that Vanessa also got inked back in January. That tattoo is a small, pretty sunflower that hugs the side of her breast. (Judging from Vanessa's photos, it seems like the sunflower is on the opposite side of her new angel tat.) She shared that one on Instagram with a hilarious caption that read, "And to conclude our #thirstythursday Hahahahaha ."

These aren't Vanessas first tattoos: Back in 2011, photos surfaced of an Om tattoo she got on her hand, alongside Ashley Tisdale. She also has a tat of a butterfly on her neck , which she got alongside actress Ruby Rose that same year.

As for the criticslast time I checked, Vanessa is a grown woman capable of making her own decisions about her body. But, ya know, haters gonna hate.

How People Get Motivated to Work Out Every Day

Posted: 09 Mar 2020 01:00 AM PDT

Whether you're a fitness newbie or a longtime gym-goer, finding the energy and inclination to work out can be a huge mental roadblockespecially during the colder, darker months for people who don't live with year-round sunny weather.

In a thread on Reddit which has garnered nearly 10,000 replies, people who go to the gym every day (or practice some kind of other daily skill) have been sharing the things that help them stay motivated and proactive in keeping up with their good habits.

Seeing the Results Can Be Encouraging

Redditor Inflammable said that "getting addicted to the results" of working out was a primary motivator for them, while GetOutYaFeelings added: "Hell yeah, this. Slowly seeing your hard work pay off has to be the biggest motivation."

However, while going to the gym every day might lead to some fairly fast, visible changes to your body, whether it be losing weight or building muscle, that rapid progress won't continue. From whatthehelliswater : "Yes but this is unsustainable for 99% of people. If you're chasing results you will be discouraged when you plateau which is a natural part of the process."

Exercise Is a Great Way to Work Through Frustrations

After a long day at work or school, hitting the gym can be handy (and healthy) to have a way of venting all of the things that have annoyed or angered you.

Says Kohrack : "I am angry... I am REALLY ANGRY AT STUFF. Thats the thing that drives me."

From Tiiimmmaayy : "I went to a community college my freshman year about 45-60 minutes away. I was in the best shape of my life because of the road rage I endured for the drive there and back. I was so angry I couldn't wait to get into the gym once I got home."

Working Out With Others to Stay Accountable

From ASleepAndAForgetting : "I have been overweight my entire life, and I have started to work out and then failed to maintain the habit many times. I started again about two months ago, and I think it's going to stick this time. I approached things a bit differently this time around. I go to a 30 minute class with friends, and that helps to keep me accountable. The class is also extremely accepting of all fitness levels and body sizes, and the exercises we do are easily modified. The focus is on doing a level of activity you can maintain for 30-40 minutes instead of going so hard on the first station that you are burned out for the rest of the workout. I'll be real - I dread going. I don't like exercising, it hurts, it's not fun. I think I failed for a long time because I focused on finding exercise I "liked". And this time my focus shifted to finding something I can hate, but maintain for 30 minutes, 4-5 days a week. I also hate doing laundry and vacuuming and dusting, but I do that shit anyways because they're chores that need to be done. Working out is now another chore I do."

Build Exercise Into Your Routine

Sometimes there is no key magical motivating factor that propels people into the gym; they key is just building the habit , day in, day out. In other words, maybe motivation is about working out even when you don't want to. Rather than waiting around for inspiration to strike, these commenters just do it.

From Outrageous_Claims : "I don't believe the hype of motivation, and realize that it's discipline that keeps me coming back every day. Take progress pics every now and again, and reflect fondly on that progress. But think about your future self, and work out for him! I tell you what, I work out 6 to 7 days a week, and I don't want to work out most days. But I have never regretted working out once it's over. I'm always glad I did."

From awallpapergirl : "No motivation is involved for me. I go in dragging my feet, but the gym is between me and home and I carried my bulky gym bag with me all day on crowded transit, I may as well make it worth it."

From grendus : "Motivation is like a match. It's easy to get going, but it doesn't last long. Routine is kindling. It needs a little heat to get going, but it will burn longer and puts out more heat. Habit is firewood. It takes some time to get going, but once you've got a good blaze it will go for a long time. Forever if you keep feeding it fuel. You need all three. Motivation to start, routine to catch, and habit to keep going. I will say this - every time I go to the gym, I moan and gripe the whole way there that I don't want to go. And every time I leave the gym, I remind myself how glad I am that I went. It's all a matter of perspective."

Or, as DontTouchTheWalrus simply put it: "Discipline > motivation."

Tiwa Savage rocks street style in ripped denim

Posted: 09 Mar 2020 12:30 AM PDT

With the heatwave and hot weather in Lagos, it's safe to say that street style is quite popular.

The 'African bad girl' headed to the streets of Lagos in ripped denim and a green bustier that showed off her cleavage. She paired the look with a white a Jacquemus mini-bag.

She paired the look with matching square toe heels that complimented her bag. She went for long braids and hoop earrings that made her look stand out.

Judging by the weather and season, Tiwa Savage gave street style an amazing look and a great way to rock the ripped denim trend.

Tiwa is definitely having a good time with this look and it wouldn't be a bad idea to rock this style to your party this weekend.

Who Needs a Coronavirus Test and How to Get One

Posted: 09 Mar 2020 12:00 AM PDT

Adding to the unease about the new coronavirus and COVID-19 is the bumpy and stalled U.S. rollout of testing for the virus. People are just clamoring for these tests, says John Swartzberg, M.D., a clinical professor emeritus of infectious diseases and vaccinology in the UC Berkeley-UCSF Joint Medical Program.

More coronavirus test kits are now to be made available, and while widespread testing will be helpful in many ways, not everyone will be an obvious candidate for testing right now.

Fixing the national coronavirus testing shortage
The low number of people tested as of this writing wasn't only because of a test kit shortage but also because of the high bar patients had to clear to get tested. Some people with symptoms of COVID-19 haven't been tested because they hadn't traveled to specific countries or been around someone who had.

The self-imposed barriers creating a national testing shortage began ease up when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said academic and hospital labs could develop their own tests , which could greatly expand the countrys testing capacity. In addition, the CDC has addressed problems with its test that led to crucial failures. The CDC opted to develop its own tests rather than use kits offered by the World Health Organization .

By the end of the week, public health labs will be able to test about 75,000 people in total, says Kristen Nordlund, spokesperson for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In addition, Vice President Mike Pence said Wednesday that 2500 diagnostic kits could be ready to go by the end of the week. Experts suggest it may take longer than that. Although that number of kits might not sound like a lot, they each allow for a few hundred tests and should cover testing of more than a million people. How long it really will take for these additional kits to be produced and implemented is not clear.

When will additional coronavirus test kits be available?

Ramping up the test kit distribution that Pence pledged could still take weeks, Swartzberg says. What Pence is talking about is something that is certainly not available today and there is absolutely no hint that it is going to be available tomorrow or any time soon, he says. I will be very surprised if anything approaching what hes suggesting will be available within the next one or two weeks, and it could be longer.

In the meantime, Swartzberg says, local county health departments and emergency room clinicians are starved for the ability to test. Under the new FDA policy, university medical centers can feed that need while health departments await their kits. Two San Francisco-area hospitals have already announced their own on-site coronavirus testing with rapid results turnaround .

Who can be tested?
Pence mentioned in his comments that any American can get tested now with a doctors order. The CDC initially required some association with travel to China, either personally or with a personal contact. The CDC has now expanded the criteria , and doctors can use their judgment about testing, based on symptoms and their severity.

That expansion may be crucial now that COVID-19 is likely spreading among people without known travel-related contact. Schwartzberg describes the plight of one patient and their doctor in the San Francisco area: the patients chest scans showed signs typical of COVID-19, and the doctor strongly suspected coronavirus. But before the CDC expanded testing criteria, the doctor couldnt have the patient tested because there were no known travel-related contacts. In the meantime, the patient had to be isolated in costly hospital isolation rooms, a potentially wasteful use of scarce resources in the absence of a confirmed diagnosis, says Swartzberg.

Why testing is important, and why not everyone is getting it
Widespread testing is important, Swartzberg says, because it can give a better a number for mortality rates. The current estimate, he says, calculated from known deaths and known cases, would be lower if testing could identify milder cases more readily. I am sure it is going to be far lower than the 3.4 percent reported, he says, but without testing, we are not going to know.

If you have mild symptoms, stay home and self-isolate, Swartzberg says. (See the CDCs guidance on isolating at home .) Ideally, those patients should be tested, and when we have more tests, we should include them. Until that happens, the last thing we need is people flocking to the ER asking to be tested. If your doctor sends you for a test and the test is positive, keep in mind that doctors can only treat symptoms and in severe cases, manage any respiratory distress and co-infections.

How they test for coronavirus
Testing involves a swab of the nose and throat . If the patient is coughing up material from the lungs, that can be sampled, too. The collected material will undergo analysis in either a public health lab, which will use CDC-developed testing , or eventually in academic or hospital labs that are using their own tests. A result is considered positive if the sample contains evidence of the viruss genetic material.

What will coronavirus testing cost?
Pence described the testing as an essential health benefit, which is policy speak that means it should be covered by health insurance and federal insurance plans.

In the meantime, the U.S. House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly for $8.3 billion in federal funding for prevention and treatment of COVID-19. The Senate is expected to approve the funding, with Trump expected sign off on it on Friday.

At this writing, the total number of global cases had topped 96,000. Of those, 164 have been identified in the United States, with 11 deaths.

Horror Is Literally In Joe Hill's Blood

Posted: 08 Mar 2020 11:30 PM PDT

About a month ago, writer Joe Hill decided to publicly put a price tag on his own free time. "6 books read so far this year... and have discarded 1 book without finishing," he wrote for all of his nearly 300,000 Twitter followers to see. "Personal goal: abandon more books without finishing them in 2020. This weird thing, where I have to finish everything I start reading, it's a misguided impulse. Earn my interest or I gotta go."

As a frequenter of the paranormal, supernatural, and everything else that's just plain scary, Hill himself is the writer of four of his own novels, a wide variety of comics, and four more short story collections. The 47-year-old has written quite a bit since his first novel, Heart-Shaped Box was released in 2007; in that time he's also publicly revealed his identity as the son of one of the most famous authors in the world ( Stephen King ) and seen four major projects based on his writing become either feature films or TV series.

"It probably happened when I looked in the mirror and saw all the gray in my beard, and realized soon I will be dead," Hill told Men's Health about the decision to be less forgiving with his time. "The dread of my own encroaching mortality has made me less patient with the stuff that's eating up valuable time when I could be doing something I love."

That philosophy is hard to argue with. When it comes down to it, time is the most valuable currency anyone has; someone should work hard to get any percentage of it, big or small.

In fairness, he says he asks himself the same question about his own writing. "Everyday when you sit down to work, there has to be some part of you that's asking, why the fuck would anyone care about this?"

6 books read so far this year... and have discarded 1 book without finishing. Personal goal: abandon more books without finishing them in 2020. This weird thing, where I have to finish everything I start reading, it's a misguided impulse. Earn my interest or I gotta go. Joe Hill (@joe_hill)

For someone to make that investment in one of Hill's books it would take a good bit of trust: they aren't exactly short. His last two novels, NOS4A2 (a modern-day vampire story) and The Fireman (a rather timely epic about the rapid spread of a plague where people spontaneously combust) are both around 700 pages long. In Full Throttle (a short story collection) and Strange Weather (a collection of four novellas), he makes an even more complicated ask to potential readers: stick with me for not just one, but multiple journeys.

"I really feel like in our distracted times, with so much to watch on Netflix, so much to read. So many games to playI mean, 1000 video games to playwe're entertaining ourselves to death," he says. "In that kind of entertainment environment you really have to fight to earn anyone's attention."

Hill is currently riding the high of his comic series, Locke & Key , finally making it to television after years of on-and-off development . After the series' initial five-year run in print for IDW Publishing, Locke & Key was a hot property, albeit one that continued to run into issues along the way. A produced pilot was rejected by FOX in 2011; at one point a series of films were planned by Universal before those too were cancelled; a Hulu pilot was in production and eventually rejected. Finally, the show made its way to Netflix.

Some watching Locke & Key might feel a natural inclination to collate the show to another Netflix Horror/Fantasy mash-up series centered on a group of precocious teens: Stranger Things . But Hill doesn't feel the need to make that comparison.

\"\"Everyday when you sit down to work, there has to be some part of you that\'s asking, why the fuck would anyone care about this?\"

In fact, he counts himself as one of Stranger Things' biggest fans. When that show's creators, the Duffer Brothers, were film students, they wrote a short film based on one of Hill's stories, Abraham's Boys. And his loyalty to their current mega-hit hasn't waned.

"If I had to name the point of my creative compass, my dad is due north and Steven Spielberg is due south," he says, making reference to the most obvious points of reference in all three Stranger Things seasons. "And those are two guiding points for my own work. And so to see a series that so embraces their work, and thrives on it is terrifically exciting."

Speaking of Dad, son is just as excited as everyone else about some other projects on TV (" The Outsider is sooooo good!" he says at one point). And while Mr. King and Hill both have multiple projects on the air right now (King with The Outsider, Mr. Mercedes, and countless more on the way; Hill with both Locke & Key and AMC's adaptation of NOS4A2), he sees no reason to feel competitive.

"I mean, me and Dad are on the same team," he says. "We're on the same team of people who think that TV shows can have the values of novels; they can have the richness of characterization, and the same kind of emotional depth."

And when he says he and his very famous father "are on the same team," well, he's being pretty literal. Not only have legendary novels been dedicated to Hill , but the pair have literally worked together both recently (in writing short stories like In The Tall Grass and Throttle) and long ago. When Hill made a cameo as a paramedic in the last episode of Locke and Key, it was his first IMDB acting credit since George A. Romero's Creepshow at just 10 years olda movie that was, coincidentally, the screenwriting debut of one Stephen King.

The story of how Hill and King together wrote In The Tall Grass has been well documented : Hill had gone down to Florida to spend a week with his parents (mother Tabitha is also a novelist). After being picked up at the airport, the two ended up having a meal at IHOP. Both had just finished working on longer projects, and decided that they would decompress and write a short story over the course of the week; by the time the pancakes arrived, they had figured out the story's plot.

The pair essentially went back and forth with one another, writing a few pages at a time and sending it over for edits, before adding more. Hill says this echoed a game his family would play when he was a kid, when his father would leave a typewriter locked and loaded with a piece of paper in it; he would write a few sentences on the page, and walk away. That meant it was someone else in the house's turn; the process continued until the King family had written a collaborative short story.

That sort of quick game would seem to be the type of exercise in idea generation that helps Hill nowadays come up with so many interesting ideaseven the ones that don't necessarily end up happening. Once he pitched an idea for a "steampunk Terminator," where the Arnold character went back in time and killed women in the east end of London; this, of course, provided a Tarantino-esque explanation for the infamous legend of Jack the Ripper .

\"I mean, me and Dad are on the same team.\"

Another idea involved a more-grounded, comic series version of a Chuck Norris horror movie called Silent Rage . But Hill also frequently looks for ways to write horror stories based around something happening in the real world.

While he says he wouldn't write a story about something like the Coronavirus (after The Fireman, he doesn't have any interest in doubling up on stories about outbreaks, though he says it's "probably the scariest thing happening."), there's something he's seeing out in the world that's starting to plant the seeds of a story: the idea of people who are locked into their beliefs and utterly against anyone who disagrees with them. Take people who think that way and combine them with the social media age, and, well, that might just make for a future Joe Hill story.

"Theres a lot of forces in our society that have made it easier to live in your own fortress of personal preferences and beliefs, and on social media, the gloves are off," he says. "Your distance and your anonymity gives you the power to be just as nasty as you want to be to people who think differently."

He continues, clarifying that the idea of a stubborn all-knowing attitude is something that's sort of always been a pillar of people in the American society, but that the internet has certainly amplified it. And as shows like Black Mirror and Watchmen , along with much of Hill's own workparticularly his short stories in Full Throttlehave shown, the scariest writing is that with roots in our reality.

"Basically what I'm saying here is that the world is burning down around us, but its giving me great material for my fiction, so who cares? As long as Ive got something to write about, thats the priority," Hill says with a laugh. "Its all about priorities."

Did Justin Bieber Spoil 'The Bachelor' Finale?

Posted: 08 Mar 2020 11:00 PM PDT

  1. Bachelor fans think Justin Bieber may have just spoiled Peter Weber's finale.
  2. The singer said he saw the Bachelor at Hillsong, a youth-focused church, in a new interview.
  3. Fans think that Peter was at the church to show Madison Prewett's family he's the guy for her.

It should surprise no one that Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber are fans of The Bachelor , but on The Ellen Show Friday, Justin revealed the surprising way he met Pilot Pete IRL, and fans on Reddit are now convinced he just spoiled the season 24 finale .

With Demi Lovato filling in for host Ellen Degeneres, the young stars and longtime friends had a conversation about faith, marriage (Justin thinks his mom and Hailey's dad, Stephen Baldwin, set them up) and their favorite reality shows.

Demi asked if Justin watches The Bachelor, and the "Intentions" singer replied, "He was at church the other night." Justin and Demi both attend Hillsong, the youth-focused congregation featuring tattooed pastors and Christian rock hymns.

"No he wasn't. I missed that? Stop it!" Demi exclaimed, nearly jumping out of her chair.

"I went up to him and I was like, 'I feel like I know you,'" Justin said, clearly enjoying this.

"You know me, and we go to the same church, and you didn't text me and be like 'Yo Pilot Pete is here,'" Demi said.

"I had no idea that you liked him," Justin replied.

On Reddit, one Bachelor fan posted the link to the clip and asked "Is this him [Peter] showing Madison's family he is that guy for her?" Worth noting: Justin did not say whether he saw Madison at Hillsong.

"Honestly I dont think peter would just be showing up at church if he wasnt influenced by madi so this to me is definite proof," one fan replied . However, another pointed out that "He had to be somewhat religious if he was already doing missionary work before he met Madison." He also attended Oaks Christian School and Baylor University, which is Christian.

So basically... this celebrity sighting probably means nothing.

Pete Davidson Doesn't Think Anyone Should Be On Social Media

Posted: 08 Mar 2020 10:30 PM PDT

has never been a has never been one to hold his thoughts about society back. During a recent appearance on First We Feasts to promote his Netflix special , the 26-year-old sat down with host Sean Evans to eat some wings and shoot the shitincluding his thoughts on having a lack of social media presence online.

Davidson decided to delete all of his accounts last year, and it turns out the SNL star has seen a positive result following his decision. [Not having social media] really improved my mental health, he said to Evans while attempting to not sweat off his entire face from eating spicy chicken wings. I dont think its good for anybody, but especially anybody who has a job around this stuff.

Davidson continued, aiming to be the voice of many with his pitch. No one gives a f**k about your shoes or your watch or your truck or any of that s**t.

Evans eventually asked Davidson whether he will perform his comedy routines on college campuses again after previously swearing to never step foot on another one. Davidsons reaction was surprising. Its really hard to perform at colleges, he told the YouTube host, but I think half of it is in my head too. Theres this stigma of you cant say anything because youll be offending, which is why I tried to do the whole NDA thing. Once a joke gets out and its in print and out of context, or you didnt see me do [the joke] or how I say it, then it could mean the most horrible thing ever.

(For those who dont remember, the comedian tried to make audience members to not post on social media about his sets).

Davidson also took time to air his thoughts on the way millennials move within society and why he has trouble performing comedy for them. The thing about millennials, he says, is theyre very passionate people and they want to help. But they have no information behind it. They hear Help this, and theyre like f**k yeah! They dont even look or read or do anything because theyre so instant.

And for those wondering whether Davidson was able to finish the challenge: yes, he ate all the wings like the true champ that he isdripping sweat and all.

Zoe Kravitz Once Ate Pancakes at a Prince Concert

Posted: 08 Mar 2020 10:00 PM PDT

  1. While appearing on an episode of "Hot Ones," Zoe Kravitz reveals she once attended a concert at Prince's house.
  2. While Prince was performing, there were pancakes served to those attending the event.
  3. "That's what Disneyland should be," Kravitz said in the installment.

Zoe Kravitz might be well-known these days for her roles in Big Little Lies , the upcoming Batman reboot starring Robert Pattinson, and High Fidelity , out now for streaming on Hulu. While she might portray a music-obsessed record shop owner on the small screen, Kravitzs personal life features some pretty epic moments that her character could only dream about partaking in.

While making an appearance on an installment of First We Feasts hit YouTube series Hot Ones , the singer and actress casually revealed that among the many musical moments that occurred throughout her life (considering that her father is Lenny Kravitz and her mother is Lisa Bonet , she must have a story or a dozen that the world doesnt know about), there is one particular concert with a certain musical legend that she attended that stands out in her mind.

Hanging out with Prince was never going to become a casual thing, Kravitz tells host Sean Evans when he asked her what musical memory she cherishes the most. He would have these parties and hed perform downstairs at his house. It was nuts. And then they gave you pancakes.

Cue Evans to ask the question everyone is thinking: You went to a Prince house concert and got pancakes?

Yes, the 31-year-old confirmed as she recalled the entire experience. It started at midnight and then they give you pancakes. Its like Disneyland. Thats what Disneyland should be.

And like the true foodie champion that she is, Kravitz calmly ate all the vegan chicken wings without ever taking one sip of water.

If only her High Fidelity character knew about the past life she lived.

Burna Boy reveals why he does not like media interviews

Posted: 08 Mar 2020 07:00 AM PDT

Nigerian Grammy-nominated artiste, Damini Ogulu better known by his stage name, Burna Boy in a recent statement disclosed why he doesn't like interviews.

Burna Boy revealed that sitting for interviews makes him very uncomfortable more than going on a tour.

He made this public during an interview with Nigerian-American entertainment journalist Lola Ogunnaike, where she sheds new light on the often reserved artist, his Grammy nomination, among other issues.

The story, entitled "Burna Boy, Global Giant" which featured in the latest issue of GQ magazine also sees the African Giant addressing hopes for a united Africa, comparisons to the Nigerian legend Fela Kuti, and touches on the comments he made last year about refusing to perform in South Africa following a spate of xenophobic attacks in the country.

According to Ogunnaike, she had been warned that Burna isn't a fan of Interview, and he didn't prove her wrong.

"Initially his answers are terse, his eye contact scarce, his wariness palpable. Baus and Burna's music-label publicist, who have insisted on being present throughout our entire discussion, shift awkwardly in their seats. If Burna's intention is to make us all uncomfortable, he has succeeded," Lola Ogunnaike wrote about Burna Boy's demeanor during the interview.

Burna Boy later explained during the course of the interview that he finds Interviews stressful.

"It's not that I hate interviews," he told Lola Ogunnaike, "It's just that I find them stressful. I find them more stressful than going on tour. Because most of the questions you all ask are very direct, simple questions. But then I answer simply, and then you're waiting for the rest like there's supposed to be a rest of the answer when there really isn't."

He also disclosed that he was in Paris for the tour of his album, "African Giant" when he received the news that he had been nominated for the Grammy awards.

"My uncle ran into my hotel room screaming that I was nominated. We were all so happy," he shared.

Here is full story of how Burna Boy auditioned for his deal with Atlantic Records

Posted: 08 Mar 2020 05:30 AM PDT

On March 5, 2020, Burna Boy an incredible feature on Conde Nast publication, GQ Magazine. He was interviewed by OG, Lola Ogunnaike. It was not just an interview either, Burna Boy had a beautiful photo spread that could easily form a collage.

During the interview which started with Burna Boy giving Ogunnaike a cold shoulder, he eventually warmed into the chat. One part that struck a chord is how Burna Boy got his record deal with Atlantic Records.

Burna Boy's talent has always been apparent and it was during one of his toughest periods as an artist that he got the link-up. In 2015, he released On A Spaceship and in 2016, he released Redemption. Then, he met Kirk Harding and Matthew 'Baus' Adesuyan of Atlantic label JV, Bad Habit, over dinner at 805 Restaurant in South London.

The two men who are now part of a three-man team alongside Burna Boy's mom, Bose Ogulu had discovered Burna Boy's music via Spotify. Of the experience, Ogunnaike writes that, "They (Harding and Baus) quickly realized that Burna was already a bona fide celebrity.."

Baus says, "He walked in with a small group of people, and all of the servers in the place started crying. It was like a miniature pandemonium." Harding adds that, "People were running out of the kitchen to see him. He performed six songs in front of us that night and I called Bose (Burna's mom) the next day and said, 'Your son is really special..'"

After that moment, Burna Boy signed to Atlantic Records via Bad Habit and his label, Spaceship. His next album, Outside took him nuclear and he hasn't stopped since.

Toyin Abraham speaks on the 'Alakada' franchise, marriage, and motherhood

Posted: 08 Mar 2020 04:00 AM PDT

Toyin Abraham visited our studio on Monday March 2, 2020, where we sat down to talk about her career, marriage and motherhood.

The last time Toyin Abraham sat down for an interview, she was still called Toyin Aimakhu, wasn't married and didn't have a child.
Well, just like every journalist, the desire to get an A list celeb on a show for an interview comes with a lot of sleepless nights. So when Toyin Abraham agreed to show up at our studio, we rolled out the drums and masquerades (Joking) to welcome her.

The beautiful actress visited our studio on Monday, March 2, 2020, where we got to talk about her movie career, marriage, and motherhood.

We laughed, paused the interview several times, rolled the cameras, paused again but one thing I enjoyed was her personality and the natural flow during our conversation.

To kick off our conversation, I asked the almost new mum how 2020 has been for her so far. According to her, there were a lot of things to be thankful for which includes her blossoming career and joining the mothers club.

"It has been a beautiful year, I can say it has been one of my years so far. I had my baby late last year so that welcomed me to motherhood and my movie is coming out so it's been a beautiful and wonderful year," she said.

The birth of Toyin's first child in 2019 was celebrated in the media for a long time. I asked the movie star how motherhood has been treating her over the last six months. According to her motherhood is more than the beautiful family photos shown on social media.

"It's not something easy. When I saw Omo T and Omoni I told them that I respect them more now. I think I love and adore them more now. I told Mercy Johnson the same thing, it's not easy. What we see is just pictures, you just see family pictures and videos, it is not easy. But we thank God because I am happy, very very happy but it's not just easy," she said.

To the business of the day, Toyin's decision to continue rolling the cameras for her Alakada Franchise has not only won her more fans but gotten a lot of people inquisitive. We asked her why 'Fate Of Alakada' was special and different from the other 'Alakada' franchises.

"It's a joint production between Toyin Abraham film production and FilmOne. So had a new hand come on board so I had to let the professionals do their thing and it was well scripted this time. I don't need to lie about it as my last two productions had a few issues.

"I took my time this time around because we've been planning since. We were supposed to shoot then I found out that I was pregnant, then I told them I couldn't do anything. So we've been planning for a year now and I can tell you that it was worth it,'' she said.

For Toyin, the very first 'Alakada' movie will remain her favourite because of the memories that it was associated with. According to her, the movie reminds her of her late friend Bisi Komolafe.

'Fate Of Alakada' has an array of not just movie stars but reality TV stars who have become household names in the country. I wanted to find out what the rationale was for picking these guys for her new movie.

"So the movie is a little bit about social media. Myself and Shaggi (Kasali) we were party planners in the movie who started planning parties and all that. They have a reputation of lying a lot. For example, they went to AY's 'Merry Men' movie premiere (We shot part of the movie at the premiere) and lied that they planned the event.

"You know a lot of people when you stuff and put it out on social media, they will send you a DM. That's why you get to see a lot of celebrities. It wasn't like they had lead roles, they only played a few roles in the movie. I don't want to say much so you guys can come out and watch the movie," she said.

Toyin also revealed during our interview that this won't be the last time the 'Alakada' franchise will be showing in the cinemas. According to her, fans have continued to yearn for it so it will only be right to satisfy the desires of her fans.

The series for 'Alakada' was put on hold after a meeting with FilmOne which gave birth to 'Fate Of Alakada' says Toyin. However, she is not taking it away from the table as she hopes to go ahead and make the series if the big bucks or sponsors decide to show up.

A lot of people who grew with the Toyin Abraham brand knew her to be Toyin Aimakhu. However, in 2018, Toyin changed her name and that didn't go unnoticed. For a writer like me, even though I had to switch along but I wanted to find out why she changed her name.

"It was because of a family issue. You know a lot of times...because I have seen it a lot on social media where people have speculated if I am married to Abraham but the truth is that our lives on social media are filtered.

"So I will not tell you everything, even if I want to tell you anything about myself, I won't bring stuff about my family to social media. It was a family thing. My dad's name is Abraham Elias Aimakhu. So because of the family thing, they just felt we should change from Aimakhu to Abraham," she said.

Still talking about family, I asked Toyin how she met her husband, Kola Ajeyemi and you all needed to see how the atmosphere in the studio changed. A visibly excited Toyin couldn't wait to talk about how they have known each other for years.

"I have known him for years (Blushes). Every time we talk about him I'm always blushing o. I'm in love (General laughter). We've been in the industry together for a very long time. He is my senior colleague. He is a very good guy, very calm, very mature. What do you expect? He is over 40. He has been my friend for a very long time, however, we started dating in late 2017.

"I was not even serious about it initially, that's why I always tell people 'never say never.' I didn't believe I was still going to get married to an actor. But it has always been my prayer to marry where ever I'm working. When I had issues with last marriage, I made up my mind that I wasn't going to be with any actor but God said this was what he wanted," she said.

The beautiful actress also said her relationship with Kola which metamorphosed to marriage, wasn't love at first sight rather it was a beautiful friendship which started ten years ago.

Toyin Abraham has been able to create this new brand for herself in just two years. The brand is devoid of all the social media drama that we use to see the actress get associated with.

However, in 2019, there was a mild drama between Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin and herself which went on for days. Toyin says she is not a drama queen and has only be caught in the web of social media drama because some people are always quick to write about her.

"I have never started a drama. Most time and I repeat because I need you guys to go your stories and check. Most times, a lot of people only talk about me. Its either they are abusing me, calling me out or using my name to clout chase.

"It has always been 'Toyin Abraham's ex' 'Toyin Aimakhu's this or that' it has never been me. And about what happened last year, its a something in the past that I don't want to talk about," she said.

On a final note, Toyin Abraham revealed that the sequel to her popular movie 'Ghost And The Tout' will be coming out later in the year.

However, she advised her already loyal fans and those who have fallen in love with the 'Alakada' franchise to come out to see 'Fate Of Alakada' which will be hitting the cinemas from April 10, 2020.
