SCHOLARSHIPS OF UP TO $2,000 AVAILABLE FOR 2020-2021!

Applications are being accepted for the Maryland Parent & Family Association Student Scholarship Awards. The scholarships provide assistance to current undergraduate students in good standing who may be unable to continue their education at the University due to extenuating personal or family financial circumstances.

Award criteria, instructions, and an online application can be found here. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2020.

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH DAY 2020 - DRUM PLATFORM OPEN FOR VIEWING

We invite students, faculty, and staff to join in celebrating our undergraduates' remarkable and varied research accomplishments at the annual Undergraduate Research Day (URD) poster presentation.

This year's event is taking place virtually, through the University Libraries DRUM (Digital Repository at the University of Maryland) platform. We will have over 110 posters, and hundreds of individual and team presenters represented.

You can use the search box on this page to find presentations using the terms listed below, OR you can browse using the convenient links in the "This Community" menu on the right-hand side of the page.

Career Assessments: Explore career options

Not sure what to do with your major? Take one of six career assessments offered by the University Career Center using Focus2. This tool analyzes students' skills, interest, values, and personality, to provide career options for students to explore. It also provides a database of occupation titles that includes a brief overview of each occupation.

NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP - Narrated Presentation and NEW ELMS Resource Site

Are you planning graduate studies toward a PhD in Science, Math, Engineering, or Social/Behavioral Sciences? Learn more about the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program with our NEW narrated presentation and ELMS resource site.

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) is the largest and one of the most prestigious awards available to support graduate studies toward Ph.D.'s in science, math, engineering, and social/behavioral fields. The NSF award provides 3 years of support, with an annual stipend of $34,000. You can learn more about the NSF award at www.nsfgrfp.org

Maryland seniors and recent alumni received 29 NSF GRFP awards for 2020, ranking 9th in the nation among all schools (public and private).

Eligibility:
You must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident to apply for the NSF graduate research fellowship. You must be applying for graduate studies in an NSF supported field.

Deadlines to apply for 2021 NSF GRFP awards will be in Mid-October 2020.

Resume Basics Module

This Resume Basics module provides tips for crafting an effective resume in regard to both content and formatting. Through text, videos, graphics, and activities, students will learn how to tailor their resume so that they are competitive for positions of interest.

This module is self-paced and non credit-bearing. Students are encouraged to make updates to their resume as they go through the module.
