Posted: 03 Apr 2020 04:30 AM PDT

Nigerian film maker, Moses Inwang, is of the opinion that the Coronavirus pandemic has shown that the United States of America is no longer the World's leading country.

He took to Instagram page to share the "23 lessons" the pandemic has taught him since it began. Read below

Few important lessons learnt in the past few days:

1. United States is no longer the world's leading country.
2. China won the 3rd World War without firing a missile and no one could handle it.
3. Europeans are not as educated as they appear.
4. We can survive vacations without trips to Europe and USA.
5. Rich people are in fact less immune to diseases than the poor.
6. Human beings are opportunistic and despicable no matter their socioeconomic position when prices are rising.
7. No Pastor, Rabai, Mullah, Alfa or Pandit saved patients. Doctors and healthcare workers did.
8. Human beings are the real viruses on the planet.
9. We sure can spend Billions of Dollars on the poor without red- tapism.
10. Health professionals are worth more than sports' persons and entertainers.
11. Oil is worthless in a society without consumption.
12. How animals feel in the zoo.
13. The planet regenerates quickly without humans at play.
14. Majority of people can work from home.
15. We and the kids can survive without junk food.
16. Prisoners in jail for petty crimes can be released.
17. Living a hygienic life is not difficult.
18. Only women should not know how to cook.
19. There are a lot of good people in the World.
20. If you build more schools and make them free, you will have to construct less hospitals and probably prisons.
21.Media is just manipulative and opportunistic.
22. Fame, wealth and position are vanity.
23. Health is indeed wealth.

Amara Nwosu’s ex-husband Francis Van-Lare reveals the reason his five marriages ended in divorce

Posted: 03 Apr 2020 03:30 AM PDT

Francis Van-Lare, the ex-husband of relationship expert, Amara Nwosu's has been married and divorced five times.

His marriage with Abuja-based Calabar-Tanzanian Architect in 2018 ended after seven months.

In response to a follower who asked why all his five marriages ended in divorce, the US-based Nigerian man said his marriages all ended for one and same reason: his "I can always catch another 'Uber '" mindset – In other words, his lack of tolerance or patience in certain things because he knows that he can always find himself another woman.

Read Francis Van-Lare's response below…

"The women did not complain and left as all of them except the one that beat me up are still my friends and I was the one that left in most cases and mutual in other cases . I did not even date the last two more than a month and we got married.

Recently a babe I like that I am considering seriously dating made me realize something that I should not go into a relationship with the mindset that I can always get out and that is exactly the case with my last two marriages , as I have plenty of options of women to choose from .

She is not even on Facebook or Instagram to see the options to have made the statement but she deduced that from my behavior to her .

Like Davido's song 'Every time call me Uber ' . That is exactly what I realized I was doing when she sat me down to talk to me . In other words no tolerance or patience on my part in certain things because I know I can always catch another 'Uber ' .

The babe herself can get any man without a sweat as she is got everything good going for her and she is used to men trolling all over her not this Jankaraman that every time ready to find another babe and move on . She told me that she is like me when it comes to men , small thing dump them , that is why she has not dated last three years with no interest for men as she has no patience for rubbish too .

I stayed away from her a couple times and kept my distance and she did same too and I was ready to find me another 'Uber ' . Each time, she was the one that reached back out to me . The last time she asked me to sit down and listen unless I want to be an old man and live alone .

She told me that I will marry 20 more wives lasting less than 3 months each if I do not change my mindset that I can always get another woman when getting married to the next one. That next one will not even be given a chance the moment the marriage is having teething issues as I will just pay off the woman and tell her to leave as usual and for how long will I be doing that ?

According to her she likes me and that is why she is even reaching back to me each time I want to end it but for my own good , I should go and work on that mindset of mine before I say I want to marry anyone and that includes her because she cannot marry someone going into a marriage thinking he has options . Quoting her , 'You are a nice guy for any woman , but go and read a relationship book on how you can keep a woman not this how I can always get another woman attitude you have ' .

I am working on her advise ."

Nigerian Govt apologises for begging South African billionaire for ventilators

According to him, they "have made sure our internal processes are strengthened that such doesn't happen again. The error is highly regrettable."

The ministry had twitted that "dear @elonmusk @Tesla federal government of Nigeria needs support with 100-500 ventilators to assist with #covid19 cases arising everyday in Nigeria."

China discovers a new Strain of Coronavirus which lasts for 49days

Researchers found a middle-aged man who had mild symptoms but a prolonged version of the potentially deadly illness, according to reports

Chinese researchers have warned of a new mutated version of coronavirus that could infect people for nearly two months.

Chinese military researchers found a middle-aged man who had the disease for 49 days, which is significantly longer than other durations of illness, according to reports.

He needed to be treated with a plasma transfusion from other COVID-19 sufferers who had recovered, it's claimed.

Previous research showed patients who survived the virus normally tested negative after 20 days on average, with the longest previous case at 37 days.

Chinese military researchers found a case of a middle-aged man had the disease for 49 days, with a high viral load of COVID-19, according to reports.

But despite the length of his illness the Chinese patient, who has not been named, had only relatively mild symptoms.

He had infected lesions to his lungs which disappeared shortly after he was taken to hospital.

Researchers said the patient's case might be 'chronic', which could suggest coronavirus has mutaed.

The researchers from the Army Medical University in Chongqing, No 967 Hospital of PLA, Dalian, and General Hospital of the PLA Central Theatre Command in Wuhan said that the virus may have formed a 'symbiotic relationship' with its host.

Reports state one of the patient's elderly female relatives also tested positive for COVID-19, with moderate symptoms.

Despite having pre-existing conditions she reportedly recovered quicker recovery than average for her age.

The researchers said that this information could point towards a new mild sub-type of COVID-19 which while not as transmissible could be harder to eliminate.

They warned that other "chronic" patients who would not be treated because of their mild symptoms could continue to spread the infection and cause a fresh outbreak.

Lagos State release 11 discharged cases of Covid-19 patients who just recovered

Posted: 02 Apr 2020 01:40 PM PDT

The Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu who is also the Incident Commander of the #Covid19Lagos, has announced the recovery and discharge of 11 more patients from the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, after testing negative twice.

The patients comprise nine males and two females, bringing the number of those who have recovered to 18.

According to the governor's tweet, "I am happy to break to you, my good people of Lagos, the news of the release today of 11 more patients from our facility in Yaba. They have fully recovered and have tested negative to #COVID19 and have been allowed to return home to their families.

"The patients include two females and nine males. Their results came out negative in two rounds of tests. I want to use this opportunity to, once again, thank our frontline health workers and other professionals for their service.

"Let me reiterate that this is not the time to relax, but to maintain our vigilance because of the community infection that we are beginning to see. I assure you that at the end, we will hoist a flag of victory – with your cooperation and by the grace of the Almighty."

Read the Governors address below:

My dear Lagosians, greetings.

Today, I have some good news for you concerning our desperate battle against Coronavirus, the lethal disease that has changed our world and tested to the limit our resilience as a people.

Even as this battle continues, amid so much anxiety all over the world, I am happy to break to you, my good people of Lagos, the  news of the release today of 11 more patients from our facility in Yaba. They have fully recovered and tested negative to COVID-19 and have been allowed to return home to their families. This brings to 18 the number of discharged patients in Lagos since the index case was reported.

The patients include two females and nine males, who were discharged after testing negative twice consecutively to #COVID19.

That the tests results of these patients came out negative twice is a big assurance to us that they pose no threat to the community. We are, therefore, releasing them in furtherance of our commitment for a disease free State.

May I use this opportunity to, once again, thank our frontline health workers who took care of the patients as well as members of the Lagos State Health family and the Emergency Operation Centre for their resilience and diligence in the face of the daunting challenges confronting our State in curtailing the spread of this pandemic.

It is a thing of joy that we have not recorded any mortality and we hope - and pray - that it remains so. We will not rest on our oars but continue to work assiduously for the full recovery of the other patients so that they can return home to their families and the community.

I am happy to note the excitement of the patients. They are full of gratitude to our dear State that has stood by them all the way, the health workers and all those who contributed one way or the other in the fight against this unseen but vicious enemy of mankind.  The Health Commissioner and all members of the medical team got kudos.

One of the former patients said: "Initially, I found it hard to settle into the facility. In fact, the first two days I spent here were so lonely for me,but I gradually settled and found companion in my fellow ward mates. The doctors and other health workers who attended to us were amazing and we appreciate their sacrifices."

May I warn that this is not the time to relax, but to maintain our vigilance against Coronavirus because of the community infection that we are beginning to experience. We should be sober as the battle continues.

I, therefore, advise Lagosians to remain steadfast as they stick to the rules of hygiene we have been told to practise. Let us continue to observe Social Distancing. Let us remain indoors, shunning the temptation to breach the presidential restriction that has been placed on our state so that the gains made so far in the fight against COVID-19 is not eroded. We should shun any gathering for whatever reason at this delicate period.

Reports  of youths gathering for social and sporting activities - as well as those massing for religious purposes - are unfortunate. This kind of insensitivity could be a weak link in  our collective effort to break the chain of transmission of the infection.

The order for law enforcement agents to ensure that residents comply with the directive to stay indoors remains. I enjoin members of the Organised Private Sector and others to read the Federal Government's guidelines on the restriction of movement so that the directive is not breached in any way.

Again, I assure you that at the end of it all, we will hoist a flag of victory - with your co-operation and by the grace of The Almighty.

Thank you.

Whilst thanking them for reduced fuel prices at this time (inject smiley face)and all the other efforts so far, food is a major part of this lock down. I know sometimes the agencies of govt dont work as a team but please this is the time for customs to step and tell us how much relief they can bring to nigerians.
