Burna Boy blasts Nigerian youths for not having the same energy they used to call out celebrities like Funke Akindele for politicians who steal public funds.

Music star Burna Boy has again drawn the ire of Nigerians on Twitter after he said that they deserve bad leaders.

While reacting to the news of a fire outbreak at the office of the Accountant General of Nigeria, Burna said that he believed the outbreak was to cover up alleged financial misappropriation and called out Nigerians for not criticising their leaders enough.

The 28-year-old further referenced Funke Akindele who was called out on Twitter for hosting a house party during government-ordered lockdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus before she was arrested and charged to court.

Burna found fault with Nigerian youths for not having the same energy with which they called out the Nollywood icon for their leaders.

"Everything were dey happen for Nigeria, Nigerians deserve am," Burna said in Pidgin English.

"That same energy you used to make an innocent woman that works for her money to feed her family get arrested. Now she has lost all her endorsement deals," he further said (this part has been translated to English for better understanding)

"Use that same energy to tackle your politician, the people who steal your money.

"You people will suffer, this is just the beginning."

Burna is not new to this. The musician recently revealed that he won't be making personal comments on Twitter anymore after he faced heavy clash due to some comments he made during a question and answer session.

"okay like you can say your collections for the past 30 years, where can I buy some rice or yam or things for you. but as at now that Coronavirus is killing your church members, some of your church members don't even have cars, some don't have houses…they rent and you're still collecting tithes online?

Rema: “I paid my tithes and left the rest for the Lord which gave Him no other option but to bless me”

Posted: 08 Apr 2020 10:30 PM PDT

Contrary to some critics' claims that paying of tithes to God is a waste of money, singer Rema who is signed to Don Jazzy's Mavin records has revealed that it works for him and as a matter of fact, it is the reason why he is successful in music today.

When asked how he became big in less than 6 months as all his songs became hits, 19 year old Rema in a chat with Precious Pomaa of City People said

"Yeah, I actually expected it because I worked really hard for it, having sleepless nights, prayed, gave my seeds, tithes and left the rest for the lord which gave him no other option but to bless me.

"It is actually spiritual how I found myself in the midst of Don Jazzy and everybody in a blink of an eye, everything worked very fast for me.

"I wouldn't say I expected it no more but everything that came to me I deserve it, I am really not the kind of guy that like to post on Instagram, the only thing people see about me is my music and my studio section or repost but a lot is happening behind the screen, a lot of tears, sweat and a load of blood.

"But people tend to believe that we over hype, but it's not over hyping because it's really happening while some people where sleeping, I was on the road every single night."

When asked about his relationship status, he said "My home is actually my peace, basically, I find my own peace either in church or home. My own personal space, but yeah! It will be nice to find someone I can share it with, but then, I have not found the right one."
