Netflix's 2nd African original series 'Blood and Water' premieres this May

The Nosipho Dumisa directed series will reportedly premiere on May 20, 2020.

Netflix's anticipated coming of age drama, 'Blood and Water' is a few days away from its premiere as reports confirm that the Nosipho Dumisa directed series will now premiere on May 20, 2020.

The series based in Cape Town stars Ama Qamata as Puleng Khumalo, a spontaneous 16-year-old who manipulates her transfer to the same high school as a girl she suspects is her sister who was abducted at birth. It also stars Khosi Ngema, Natasha Thahane, Gail Mabalane and Cindy Mahlangu.

'Blood and Water' follows the highly successful 'Queen Sono' which premiered back in February.

Covid-19 patients in Gombe break out of Isolation center to protest over ‘poor treatment’

Close to 20 coronavirus patients in Gombe on Tuesday, May 5, made their way from an isolation centre in the Yamaltu Deba area of the state over alleged poor treatment.

Claiming that their conditions have worsened since they arrived at the centre, the protesters who took over the highway linking the state with Borno insisted that they were given poor medical attention and opted for self-treatment outside the facility, Premium Times reports.

A concerned eyewitness who spoke with journalists about the issue said:

"Government should do the needful before it gets out of hand because the patients we saw today are really angry and we don't know what could happen next."

"They were chanting that the state government lied against their status while some were saying they were fine. This is serious."

Kemi Olunloyo claims Linda Ikeji is not wealthy as Nigerians think

Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has pulled down the dignity of Linda Ikeji's wealth after she made it known on Twitter that the popular blogger is not wealthy as she claims.

Kemi Olunloyo alleged that Linda Ikeji has been cunny all her life, she says the blogger does not have it all and her car was a gift.

She also alleged that Dudafa gave her N242M Dasuki money she admitted to.


Kemi wrote, "LINDA DOESN'T HAVE IT ALL. Her son has an identity crisis. She stole Jeremi's used condom according to SDK and did IVF. Lied about a surrogate pregnancy, her wealth doesn't exist. Her car a gift, Dudafa gave her N242M Dasuki money she admitted to, nobody knows her in N. America."

Nigerian singer and former Chocolote City label mate, Olawale Olofooro, popularly known by his stage name Brymo, has said his songs are the most African, original and creative in Africa.

This is coming 3 weeks after Brymo rubbished Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy by claiming he doesn't know they exist and 2 days after he slammed 99% of Nigerian artistes, saying they can't perform live, write or sing that good.

The singer made this known in a short tweet he posted on May 4, 2020, via the microblogging platform, Twitter.

He wrote;

Liberian actor, Frank Artus reels out his achievements as he celebrates his birthday today

Nollywood affiliated Liberian actor, Gregory Artus Frank simply known as Frank Artus, has turned 41-year-old today, May 4, 2020.

To mark his birthday, the actor shared a short video clip, a brief documentary of his achievements that seek to reveal more of who he is and what he's into; awards, businesses, offices held, etcetera.

As can be seen in the video he shared, the actor tagged himself the "King of Africa" and revealed he's proudly a full fledged movie Director and Producer; an award winning actor, won from the Liberian Movie Union; Chairman, Collective Societies; CEO, Fast Studios and the 5th President, Liberian Movie Union.

As the Muslim community is currently observing Ramadan worldwide, fast rising Nigerian artiste, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has taken to social media to share a Ramadan-inspired message with his fans and indeed, Nigerians at large.

Simi – ‘People that eased the lockdown are inside, stay at home’ Singer enjoins Nigerians

Following the ease of coronavirus lockdown today, Nigerian singer, Simisola Ogunleye-Kosoko, simply known as Simi, has advised Nigerians to stay at home if they can afford it.

The 32-year-old expectant mum made this known on Monday, May 4, 2020 in a short tweet she posted on her official page on Twitter.

She also reminded that Nigerians that those who have eased the lockdown (referring to government officials) are at home, thus, enjoined them to be wise enough to stay at home.
