On Sunday, June 14, 2019, former beauty queen, Ibidun Ajayi-Ighodalo passed away from a reported cardiac arrest just five days to her 40th birthday. This happened in a hotel in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

On Sunday, June 14, 2019, former beauty queen, Ibidun Ajayi-Ighodalo passed away from a reported cardiac arrest just five days to her 40th birthday.

On the day of her passing, legendary gospel singer, Tope Alabi took to her twitter account to write the following message, "Your death came as a shock and it's heartbreaking Pastor Ibidun Ighodalo, but God knows the best. Your impact can't be forgotten. I know you are with Christ Jesus in a grand reception into His kingdom, RIP. God will comfort @pastorituahighodalo and the entire family, Amen."

On June 17, 2020, the singer then took her Twitter to post a teaser of a tribute she did to the late wife of Pastor Ituah Ighodalo. She wrote, "We will miss you but God love you more. Rest on Ibidunni Ighodalo SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO IBIDUNNI IGHODALO BY TOPE ALABI."


You might remember that...
First known as Ibidun Ajayi, she first hit fame when she won the Miss Lux beauty pageant competition as an 18-year-old undergraduate of the University of Lagos.

She married Pastor Ighodalo in 2007. The union was a controversial one as Pastor Ighodalo, then of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Christ Church Parish, Gbagada, had divorced his first wife Lucy-Ann Suinner. The church was said not to be happy with the situation and sacked him.

He went on to start his church called Trinity House. Ighodalo was also a successful event planner whose outfit Elizabeth R, had big brands in her clientele.

Just recently, she worked with one of the top banks in Nigeria to provide isolation centres in Bayelsa and Rivers State for COVID-19 patients.

She was also the founder of Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation, a non-profit organisation created to raise awareness on issues about infertility. The foundation also provides grants for couples that require fertility treatments such as in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) and intrauterine insemination.

It was her struggle with infertility that led her to start the foundation. In a 2018 interview, Ighodalo revealed that she underwent IVF 11 times due to pressure from in-laws and friends before deciding to adopt her daughter Keke.

News of her death drew many reactions on Twitter as she became the number one trending topic on Twitter Nigeria.

Azadus shares experience as he recovers from coronavirus

Nigerian veteran singer, Olalekan Fadeyi popularly known as Azadus, has shared his experience after recovering from the dreaded coronavirus.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria has risen to 17, 735 as at the time of publishing this article.

The music star took to his Instagram page on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, where he wrote about his experience as a survivor of the virus.

He went on to share photos from the facility where he received treatment while appealing to Nigerians to take extra precautions as the virus is real.

"My Survivor story with Covid-19 Glory be to God I just got discharged of Covid-19. Half bread is better than puff-puff That garri in your house is far better than the good meals you won't be able to eat at the hospital," he wrote.


"My Advice, If you must go out, see everyone as that COVID-19 itself and wash your hands for 40secs at the least. Meanwhile, if you insist that Covid-19 is not real, Covid-19 is not in Nigeria or Africa, haaaaaaaaaa well, don't be shy to ask me questions."

"Please kindly say a word of prayer for @lagosstategovt Under our super caring Governor @jidesanwoolu God bless."

Nigeria now has 17, 735 confirmed cases of the virus with 5,967 recoveries, and 469 deaths recorded so far.

AGN president Emeka Rollas sets up committee to restructure guild

Emeka Rollas, president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, has set up a five sub-committees which will include one to address its controversial patron appointments in March 2020.

The newly set up committee will address major issues that has plagued the guild in recent times including the controversial appointment of Senator Elisha Abbo as guild patron.

In a statement signed by the guild's public relations officer, Monalisa Chinda, the sub committees will cover welfare, membership, merger and Inter guild activities and a committee for standard contract.

Some of the pressing issues that the committees will be charged with include major issues that have affected the guild since its inception as well as a review of its appointment of senator Elisha Abbo as patron in March 2020.

Recall that the senator who allegedly physically assaulted a woman the year before was appointed a patron of the guild, a move that sparked outrage among members and non members of the guild.

The committees heads have also been unveiled. Actor, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey will chair the committee on standard contract. Bob Manuel Udokwu will preside over the committee on membership while former President of the AGN Zack Orji will head the merger and Inter guild activities committee. Multiple award winning actor and former President of the AGN Segun Arinze will head the patrons ratification committee and Desmond Elliot will chair the the welfare committee.

Other members of the sub- committees include, Joke Silva, Richard Mofe Damijo, Bimbo Manuel, Alex Ekubo, Ada Ameh, kate Henshaw, Hilda Dokubo, Ireti Doyle, Monalisa Chinda, Okey Bakasi, Ego Boyo, Emeka Enyiocha, Femi Branch, Sani Danja, Hajia Salma Ibrahim, Moji Oyetayo among others.

Popular socialite and Instagram celebrity, Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest has been detained by the Nigeria Police Force.

According to reports, the socialite is being questioned over his misuse and abuse of the police escorts attached to him.

According to Punch, his detention was ordered by the Inspector General of Police.

The businessman was invited to the Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos on Thursday, June 18, 2020, over the his alleged misuse of police escorts and weapons as well as unexplained wealth.

Tanzanian music star, Vanessa Mdee has alleged that demonic activities make up the music industry. She said this when she went public with her decision of quitting music in her 29 minutes Podcast "Deep Dive with Vanessa Mdee".

According to Mdee, the music industry is demonic and she is currently working on being an advocate of honesty, beauty and what facing your demons can do for you.

She said;

"I don't know who needs to hear this, but my mission is to be a light. I know that I would probably disappoint a few people and that's Okay, I know that my fans don't wanna hear this but guess what am never be too far away from you, trust me. The reason why I had to leave the industry is because I needed to choose my life, the music industry is demonic. People will tell you half-truth about what really goes on, and the truth is I just wanna be an advocate for honesty and beauty and being a sincere advocate for what facing your demons can do for You.


"Now my fans are probably asking themselves right now; Are you gonna never sing again? Are we gonna never see you perform? Let me reiterate, I love music, I love to create, I love to perform, I'm a vessel, this is what I was brought on earth to be, but maybe I was a vessel to be here in this moment to have gone through everything that I have gone through so that I can tell you most honestly the truth about things you will never somewhere else."

The Tanzanian music star also recalled becoming an alcoholic who could drink herself to sleep after becoming depressed.

Mdee added;

"My advice to someone out there, is that be true to who you are. I used to say this in many interviews but not really understand any of it, because then again it sounded like the right thing to say. But be true to who you are, I had to look at myself, face myself that it was pain, it was shameful, it was scary but I had to do it because there was no other way and in that I found peace and in that I found elevation, I found desire and passion for life.

"Trust me I used to wake up every morning questioning what the hell is this about, why are we doing this again, a lot of people used to say to me but you are in America now, (I live in Atlanta now) and that is the Mega of Music you have the perfect opportunity, I'm gonna tell you this, and this is a note to my African stars and artistes out there, don't chase the American dream there are too many Selena Gomezs out here, not yet even conceived and there is only just a few chances not to kill your dream but be great where you are, that's the only way to do it. They will come to you, organically no body is really giving chances to Africans like that, it's when you shine in your space, is when the chances will come to you. Dubai Police reveals why Hushpuppi was arrested

Dubai public prosecution is set to prosecute embattled Instagram celebrity, Hushpuppi for multiple fraud, UAE's newspaper, The National, reported on Wednesday.

Hushpuppi, real name Raymond Abbas, who was arrested by Dubai Police on June 10, has been charged with obtaining money from others through fraudulent means and is currently being questioned by prosecutors at the Bur Dubai section.

According to the report, security officers in the emirate arrested Hushpuppi and 12 others for online fraud that targets companies and individuals.

"They would send out letters from email addresses almost identical to those of legitimate companies, targeting customers of these companies, with the purpose of diverting payments to themselves," a senior prosecutor said.

The 38-year-old suspect is also said to be wanted for fraud crimes in Europe, US and Nigeria.

The actor and his wife, Becky have welcomed their first child and daughter together.

In a post shared via his Instagram page on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, the movie star recounted how his wife and himself were mocked by many over their inability to have a baby.

According to him, at some point, he was advised to get another wife or find a mistress and impregnate her.

Games Esther played revealed in BBNaija Pepper Dem Reunion Day 9

If episode nine of the Big Brother Naija Pepper Dem Reunion Show was allowed a rechristening, it will probably be in the lines of the dangers of a one-sided story.

In case you missed the latest episode of the Big Brother Naija Pepper Dem Reunion Show, check out the highlights.

The show picked up from episode eight's focus on back stabbing female housemates. Former housemates Esther, Diane, Cindy, Enkay, Tacha, Jackye, Venita, and Mercy made center stage in this episode and took turns to break the ice on a few high voltage topics initiated by show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

Esther's Love Triangle
Diane and Mercy pulled receipts incriminating Esther in a ring of manipulative behaviour while in Big Brother's house. The best friends who admitted to being former friends with Esther pointed out Esther's transfer of emotions from Nelson to Frodd despite knowing Diane had designs on Nelson, as an act of betrayal.

For Esther, her several steps back move was influenced by the feeling of being the dismissible third cord in Diane and Mercy's bond. Minutes after the accusatory shots were fired, Esther took the high road with a plea for mercy.

The Game
Games can be a little eye-opening and we are guessing that was Ebuka's plan when he asked the housemates to share their sincerest thoughts via a simple game.

For the three questions asked, Esther's name made quite the appearance. Cindy concurred with Diane and Mercy on Esther being the least trusted in the house. Enkay pointed out how Esther was the toughest to get along with. Thelma also slipped in major swipes at Tacha.

What defines Gossip?
Speaking of Tacha, the former housemate had yet another mild to almost dramatic moment with Venita over the former's definition of gossip.

The former housemates had a brief exchange over the one time Tacha tattled about Venita after the latter was evicted from Big Brother's house.

Tacha debunked the accusation, claiming it was not gossip as she could tell Venita everything she said to her face.

To wrap the show up, Ebuka shared, "A Woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong it is until it is in hot water". So, hey and bye teabags!

'Living in Bondage' Graphics artist accuse production team of not paying for her designs

Louisa Ejenavbo, a Graphics designer, is currently demanding payment for her designs which were used in 2019 box office king, 'Living In Bondage Breaking Free'.

'Living in Bondage Breaking Free' director, Ramsey Nouah has been called out on Twitter for allegedly not paying for graphics designs used in the 2019 blockbuster.

In a trending Twitter thread, Ejenavbo revealed how she was contracted to work on production designs ranging from cult symbols to company logos, an Instagram page, blog page designs and custom license plates through an intermediary who was later sacked.

Ejenavbo further disclosed how she was not given any down payment for her work and was eventually dropped from the project without payment and on the claims that her designs were not good enough.


"Almost 2 years after Living in Bondage (Breaking Free is out and guess what, they used my designs in the movie. My blood and sweat, my sleepless nights and broken backs after claiming they were not good enough. Worse of, I wasn't credited, I wasn't paid. I wasn't even compensated", Ejenavbo further revealed in a tweet.

All attempts to reach Ramsey Nouah proved abortive as the artist revealed the director had not responded to her Twitter messages.

The tweets have since gone viral.

Jackye Madu and her boyfriend, Lami reveal split

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Jackye Madu has just confirmed her split from her erstwhile boyfriend, Lami in a new cryptic post.

Reports circulated recently that the couple's relationship is a thing of the past and now she has confirmed it to the public.

According to Jackye, she has been single for a while and she is surprised most people aren't aware.

The EFCC Zonal office has Arrested a social media influencer Adedamola Adewale and four others for Allegedly internet fraud.

According to reports the five suspects were apprehended in different places in area of lagos.

Adedamola Adewale a 20 year old girl, and his accomplice, Lamina Hamzat Ajibola, were arrested at the Agungi area of Lekki, the trio of Israel Onyebuchi, Emmanuel Olayode and Valentine Nwokorie were picked up at Ibeju-Lekki.

According to EFCC,the arrest of Adewale and ajibola was link to internet fraud activities linking Lasisi Wasiu Adeleke and Lasisi Riliwan Adeniyi, who are at large."


The statement said during interrogation, "Adewale, a self-acclaimed model, who goes by the username @adeherself on Instagram, confessed to being a picker" in cybercrimes."

Items recovered from the suspects included two Toyota Camry 2009 model cars, and a sum of N9 million found in Adewale's account.

The other suspects Onyebuchi, Olayode and Nwokorie were arrested for their alleged involvement in a romance scam.

According to LIB, Jackye dumped her Lami for a young tech entrepreneur he (Lami) introduced her to. The young tech entrepreneur is said to be the owner of a cryptocurrency exchange company which has a head office in Lekki, Lagos State. The name of the company is "Patricia dot com"

FCT minister gives assured statement that Naira Marley and co will be prosecuted

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muhammad Bello on Tuesday June 16, announced that Naira Marley will be prosecuted alongside those who featured and entertained fun-seekers at the Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja.

In a press statement released by the Minister's Chief Press Secretary Anthony Ogunleye, Bello stated that the FCT Administration views the actions of the organisers and attendees at the concert as reckless, wicked, insensitive and utter disrespect and disregard both for the law and the wellbeing and welfare of fellow citizens.

He urged residents of the FCT to observe health guidelines outlined by authorities as he pointed out that several guidelines instituted by the FCT administration to curb the spread of Coronavirus, was violated at the drive-in concert.

Bello said;

"The FCT Administration which has a responsibility to protect the lives of the citizenry is determined to prosecute all those involved in orchestrating these infractions to the full extent of the law".

This is coming after Jabi Lake Mall was shut down by the FCT administration following a mobile court's judgment.

D’Banj Demands N100m Compensation From Lady Who Accused Him Of R*Pe

Music artiste, Oladapo Oyebanjo aka D'Banj, has demanded N100m from Miss Seyitan Babatayo who accused him of raping her in a hotel room on December 30, 2018.

In a pre-litigation letter signed by his lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), the musician asked his accuser to make a payment of N100m within 48 hours or face legal action.

In the letter, which was addressed to Miss Babatayo's lawyer, Ojoge, Omileye and Partners, dated June 15, 2020, D'Banj also demanded that an apology be published in at least four national dailies.

The letter read in part, "We have been instructed to demand and we so hereby demand from you the following: That your client makes an outright apology and a total retraction of each and every false allegation made against and concerning our client.

"The said apology and retraction shall be published in four national dailies with wide circulation in Nigeria as well as on social media platforms and handles being used by your client and her hirelings.

"That your client makes a compensatory deposit of the sum of N100m only through this chambers in favour of our client to assuage his battered image."

In the letter, D'Banj said he was married when the purported rape took place, adding that the allegation was an insult to his wife.

Nigerian singer, Dapo Oyebanjo aka D'banj, has finally reacted to rape allegation by a young Nigerian lady, Seyi.

Seyi alleged that Dbanj raped her on December 31, 2018, at Glee hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

She also demanded a public apology from the singer on her behalf.

Toke Makinwa Displeased With Execujets For Calling Naira Marley, Crew Useless People

OAP Toke Makinwa has reacted to the apology tendered by Executive Jets Services Limited which described rapper Naira Marley and a former BBNaija reality TV star Kim Oprah as "a bunch of useless people."

Linking Me With Naira Marley Flight Is Ridiculous – Fashola Tells Executive Jets Services Boss

Former Lagos Governor and current Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has reacted to a letter written by the Chairman of Executive Jets Services, Sam Iwuajoku, apologizing to the Federal Government after his company was banned by the Ministry of Aviation for conveying singer, Naira Marley, to Abuja from Lagos for a concert in violation of COVID-19 guidelines.

According to Fashola he has not travelled out of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, since March 22 so it is ridiculous for him to be linked with the flight that carried the singer.


On Monday, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika had announced the suspension of Executive Jets services during a Presidential Task Force briefing in Abuja, leading the chairman of the company to apologize saying he gave the approval for the flight thinking the passenger was the minister Fashola, as the flight manifesto contained the name Babatunde Fashola, not knowing that is was Naira Marley's brother who also goes by the name Babatunde Fashola.

Aliko Dangote not a co-owner of Executive Jets Services Ltd

Dangote has denied allegations that he is a co-owner of Executive Jets Services Ltd, an aviation company whose operating license was recently suspended indefinitely by the Ministry of Aviation after flouting lockdown guidelines for safety when it conveyed an artiste to Abuja for a concert.

A statement by Anthony Chiejina, Group Head, Branding and Corporate Communications, Dangote Group refuted claims that Alhaji Aliko Dangote is part owner of Executive Jets Services Ltd and further denied ownership of the Bombardier Challenger 605 with registration number 5N-EXS.

He said,

"Our attention has been drawn to an online publication which alleged that our President/CE, Aliko Dangote is a co-owner of the Executive Jets Services Ltd, a private airline based in Lagos. We hereby refute this allegation in its entirety, as Aliko Dangote has no stake or vested interest in the Executive Jets Services Ltd."

He further said:

"The said aircraft Bombardier Challenger 605 with registration number 5N-EXS does not belong to Aliko Dangote. Dangote Group only keeps its fleet of aircraft in the hangars operated by Executive Jets Services Ltd just as others also avail themselves of the hangar services. The general public is hereby advised to disregard this unfounded and misleading report."
