Seun Ajayi calls out Men in Nollywood who harass Women

Posted: 05 Jun 2020 12:30 AM PDT

Nigerian actor, Seun Ajayi has detailed some of his experiences on set as he cationed men in Nollywood to desist from harassing women.

He said he has witnessed multiple cases of sexual assault on set and some of them were so bad.

He mentioned a particular incident where a man kept groping a woman on set and refused to stop even after he was cautioned. He only stopped after he got a letter from the lady's lawyer.

In a video captioned "Sexual harassment in Nollywood! My brothers let's do better" the actor said: "This video is directed to my brothers in the Nollywood industry.

"I see this a lot and whenever I get the chance, I speak about it.

"You see, it's very important for us to let women feel safe in their work environment, but the truth is, if we really really check out, we dey mess up. In fact, forgive my French, we dey f**k up.

"I went to sleep agitated and I woke up with my heart beating very fast because I could not wait to address this.

"Many times I'll see male colleagues harass ladies on set.

"There was one time I was on set and it was so bad and this guy was constantly commenting on this girl's bum and groping her and everyone told him to stop. I told him to stop several times and he didn't until he was officially written by the girl's lawyer.

"Now, what tends to happen is that this goes on, but men stay silent. The men that know better, they stay silent.

"I urge you, my brothers, that the next time you see that kind of behavior… it's not only rape oh, it's not only rape. To be inappropriate with your language is harassment, it is sexual harassment.

"The reason why these things are still sliding is because nobody has been arraigned in court for sexual harassment, nobody has lost their endorsement for sexual harassment. It's coming and we need to be careful, my brothers, we need to be careful. We can't continue to just act. We have to think before we do it.

"Please, put a lid on it and act right. It's not only producers that are preying on the ladies trying to get in the industry. It happens in many shades, in many manners. We need to be careful oh, we need to be careful.

He also called on producers and directors to intervene if they notice a crew member harassing a woman on set. He added that it's "rampant" and needs to stop.

"We need to stop this and if you see it around you, nip it in the bud. Talk to your guy," he concluded.

George Floyd's full Autopsy report shows he tested Positive for COVID-19

Posted: 05 Jun 2020 12:00 AM PDT

The full autopsy report for George Floyd by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner reveals he tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) in early April.

Although George Floyd was likely asymptomatic at the time of his death, his 20-page autopsy report revealed on Wednesday, provided several clinical details of his death.

With the family's permission and after the coroner's office released summary findings Monday that Floyd had a heart attack while being restrained by officers, and classified his May 25 death as a homicide.

The coroner states that at the time of his death, George Floyd had no issues or active symptoms even though he tested positive to coronavirus.

It says, "positivity for 2019-nCoV can persist for weeks after the onset and resolution of clinical disease, the autopsy result most likely reflects asymptomatic but persistent PCR positivity from previous infection."

The report also noted Floyd's lungs appeared healthy but he had some narrowing of arteries in the heart.

The county's earlier summary report had listed fentanyl intoxication and recent methamphetamine use under "other significant conditions" but not under "cause of death." The full report's footnotes noted that signs of fentanyl toxicity can include "severe respiratory depression" and seizures.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison on Wednesday upgraded charges against Derek Chauvin to 2nd-degree murder, and also charged the three other officers on the scene with aiding and abetting.

Kim & Kanye West Threaten Ex-Bodyguard With $10m Lawsuit For Discussing Kanye’s Rules

Posted: 04 Jun 2020 05:00 AM PDT

Kim, 39, and Kanye, 42, have reportedly sent a cease-and-desist letter to Kanye's ex bodyguard Steve Stanulis, alleging he made 'false and defamatory statements' and breached a confidentiality agreement on the Hollywood Raw Podcast last month.

Stanulis, who was reportedly fired by the rapper back in 2016, said that he was given 'ridiculous rules' to abide by and described the Famous star as 'one of my least favorite people to work with over the course of time' on the podcast.

Documents obtained by TMZ claim the former bodyguard signed the agreement in February 2016 and it prohibits him from speaking about any personal or business-related information about Kim and Kanye.

The website states that while Kim and Kanye haven't specified which of Steve's statements are false and defamatory, they have threatened to sue for at least $10 million for breaching the confidentiality agreement if he does it again.

Back in 2016, Kim and Kanye were said to have threatened to sue Stanulis for the same thing and demanded a public apology.

Stanulis' publicist denied to TMZ that any breach of confidentiality agreement had been committed.

Zack Teperman said: 'My client went on a podcast to promote his new film, and old stories that were already out there were brought up.'

'For Kanye and Kim's counsel to send out a threatening letter to bully my client against his rights is unwarranted. My client has already made it clear that he respects Kanye, their time working together.'

'If Kanye and Kim wish to continue this further, that is up to them, but I think their time and money would be better suited helping out with more pressing matters in our society than what happened many years ago.'

Mark Zuckerberg explains reasons why Facebook isn’t taking down President Trump’s violent post

Posted: 04 Jun 2020 03:12 AM PDT

Violent Post … Zuckerberg took to his social media page to further Explain Why Facebook Isn't Taking Down Trump's horrific messages.

"I can't stand back & watch this happen to a great American City, Minneapolis. A total lack of leadership. Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right," he wrote. "These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won't let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!" His words, in particular the phrase "when the looting starts the shooting starts," invoked fear and outrage in so many Americans for their threatening and violence-inciting nature. Although Trump has since claimed that what he meant to say was that the rioters would start shooting each other once the looting starts, his words were so alarming that Twitter actually hid the tweet that included the aforementioned phrase, a quote attributed to famed segregationist and Miami Police Chief Walter Headley in 1967.

Mark Zuckerberg Donald Trump violent protestors looting shooting riots Facebook Twitter tweets.

However, his posts on Facebook remain without even a warning of sensitive material. On Friday (May 29th), Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg explained why this is the case.

"I know many people are upset that we've left the President's posts up, but our position is that we should enable as much expression as possible unless it will cause imminent risk of specific harms or dangers spelled out in clear policies," Zuckerberg explained. "We looked very closely at the post that discussed the protests in Minnesota to evaluate whether it violated our policies. Although the post had a troubling historical reference, we decided to leave it up because the National Guard references meant we read it as a warning about state action, and we think people need to know if the government is planning to deploy force. Our policy around incitement of violence allows discussion around state use of force, although I think today's situation raises important questions about what potential limits of that discussion should be."

However, as pointed out by Complex, this response contradicts a vow Zuckerberg made to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez regarding politicians using his platform. "If anyone, including a politician, is saying things that can cause, that is calling for violence or could risk imminent physical harm…. we will take that content down," he declared only a few months ago.
Zuckerberg further concluded his statement on Friday by saying: "There are heated debates about how we apply our policies during moments like this. I know people are frustrated when we take a long time to make these decisions. These are difficult decisions and, just like today, the content we leave up I often find deeply offensive. We try to think through all the consequences, and we keep our policies under constant review because the context is always evolving."

"People can agree or disagree on where we should draw the line," he continued, "but I hope they understand our overall philosophy is that it is better to have this discussion out in the open, especially when the stakes are so high. I disagree strongly with how the President spoke about this, but I believe people should be able to see this for themselves because ultimately accountability for those in positions of power can only happen when their speech is scrutinized out in the open."
