Personal Assistant arrested for the murder Gokada CEO

The personal assistant to Fahim Saleh, founder of the Nigerian ride-sharing app Gokada, was arrested on Friday in the grisly murder of the 33-year-old tech entrepreneur in his Manhattan apartment, New York news media reported.

Saleh's body was found dismembered and decapitated in his luxury condo on Tuesday, New York police said.

The suspect, identified as Tyrese Devon Haspil, 21, is expected to be charged in the murder, several media outlets reported, including the New York Times, NBC's New York TV station, the New York Daily News and the New York Post.

A spokesman for the New York Police Department disputed the report.

"Last I was told, we don't have anyone in custody," police spokesman Sergeant Vincent Marchese said by phone. "There is no arrest. I don't know where they're getting the information from."

Saleh earlier this week died of multiple stab wounds to the neck and torso, the New York City medical examiner said. His body was discovered in his apartment on Tuesday afternoon.

His body had been decapitated and dismembered, the parts placed into separate plastic garbage bags. A power saw and cleaning supplies were found plugged in nearby.

Security camera video showed Saleh in his apartment building's elevator with a man in a dark suit, mask and gloves, the media reports said. Video footage showed the suspect following Saleh into the seventh-story apartment, where a struggle began.

Saleh, who was born in Saudi Arabia to Bangladeshi parents and grew up in New York, founded the Pathao ride company in 2015 and in 2018 the Gokada motorbike hailing app.

Gokada was widely used in the Nigerian megacity of Lagos until state officials in February banned motorcycle taxis, known locally as "okada," dealing a serious blow to the company.

Taaoma who was born in Ilorin but spent most of her years growing up in Namibia.


The comedy skit content provider who came back to Nigeria for her university education, got interested in cinematography and has been producing skits for some time.

Clergyman Emmanuel Omale – Ibrahim Magu is my ‘son’ but I do not launder money for anybody

Clergyman, Emmanuel Omale who is the founder of the Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministry, Abuja, has denied claims he laundered millions of Naira for suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Ibrahim Magu and also fronted for him.

Magu is being investigated for allegedly mismanaging loot recovered by the anti-graft agency. The Presidential Committee on Audit of Recovered Assets (PCARA) in a document released last weekend, said the former acting chairman purchased a property in Dubai using Omale's name, an allegation Omale has since denied.

Speaking during a sermon in his church on Thursday, July 16, Omale denied claims of Laundering money for anyone, saying that is false "a lie from the pit of hell". He added that anyone who is fighting with him should remember they are fighting with Jesus as well.

"You see what is going on, on social media about Prophet of Liberation is a lie.

Listen, I don't launder money for anybody, it is a lie from the pit of hell. I have sons all over the world. I have seven presidents in the world that I pray for them. They call me for advice, for counselling and I pray for them and there is nobody that doesn't come here in this country and beyond.

This altar is for everybody. It is for Muslims, it is for pagans and it is for everybody and Ibrahim Magu is not the only Muslim that you used to come here. People in government come here. They pray here, they sleep here, talk to God and they have result.

I'm not surprised. It is not a new thing. Jesus went through this, Jesus was persecuted, if Jesus was not persecuted they won't hear his name.

People that don't know Omale, know Omale now. If I want to do this kind of publicity, the money is much all over the world, promotion. People that dont want to hear about pastor before, as they heard 'pastor launder money', they will go to my YouTube page and they will see the power of God there and they will become my son again.

Flying officer, Tolulope Arotile, to be buried on Thursday July 23

The remains of late Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile, the Nigerian Air Force's (NAF's) first female combat helicopter pilot, who died on 14 July 2020, will be laid to rest with full military honours at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja on Thursday, July 23.

This was disclosed in a statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola.


Tolulope died in an accident in Kaduna state.

19-year-old suspected serial killer of Barakat Bello, others in Oyo state arrested and paraded by Police

The Oyo state police command today paraded a 19-year-old man, Sunday Shodipe, suspected to be behind the killing of Barakat Bello and four others in Akinyele Local Government, Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

Recall that there have been lots of killings within the local government in recent times. Notable among them is the rape and murder of Bello Barakat, an 18 years old undergraduate that was killed on the 1st of June, 2020 at Oloro Area of Akinyele.

On June 5, a pregnant woman, Azeezat Shomuyiwa's head was smashed with a stone. On June 13, Grace Oshiagwu, a female student of Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, was killed in the local government and on June 22, a 5 year-old-boy, Mujeeb, was also hacked to death inside his compound in the local government area. This prompted the police to begin a full-scale investigation.


Last week, the command announced that the suspects linked to the killings have been arrested.

While being paraded, the suspected serial killer, Sunday Shodipe, recounted how he goes about killing his victims. He said a certain herbalist who he worked for, Adedokun Yinusa Ajani (50), sends him out for such assignments. He said anytime he wanted to go for the operation, the herbalist would instruct him to kneel down in front of him and he would make some incantations and then put something on his tongue three times.

According to Sunday, whenever he locates his victims, he would hit them with a shovel and when they fall in the pool of their own blood, he would make some incantations and move around the body three times and then place the body on his back for about five minutes with his eyes closed before leaving the scene.

When asked if he was not afraid that anybody could come around while backing the body, the suspected serial killer said the herbalist had told him that nobody would come around during the period. He said after the operation, he would return to the herbalist, who would make some incantations again.

When asked for the reasons for the killings, Sunday said he didn't know as it was the herbalist who was just sending him on such errands.


The accused herbalist, Adedokun Yinusa Ajani, however, denied sending Sunday on a killing spree. He claimed Sunday's mother brought him to his house some time ago that he was a wayward child and he did some spiritual work for him. He, however, said that after two months, she returned with the boy, asking him to learn how to become a herbalist.

"He had only spent six days with me when I told him to leave because I was not satisfied with his behaviour and it was not long after that that I was arrested by the police," Ajani said

While parading the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police, Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu, said the suspects were arrested after recovering the phone of one of the victims from one Shehu Usman. Enwonwu said upon interrogation, Shehu denied involvement in any crime but gave useful information which subsequently led to the arrest of Shodipe and Ajani. The police boss said the suspects were responsible for the killings of Wasilat Adeola, Barakat Bello, Grace Oshiagwu, Mojeed Tirimisiyu, who was just five years old, and the attack on Adeola Azeez and her daughter, Dolapo Oyeyemi, who both survived.

Items recovered from them include a Techno mobile phone, an iPhone Xs Max, and one Itel phone.


Four other suspected ritualists were also paraded.

One of them, Abiodun Oladejo (35), who was allegedly responsible for the killing of a woman, Oluwasayo Fagbemi, who was killed in front of her house at Sasa area on June 24, while washing plates at about 5:40 a.m. Three other suspects were also arrested in connection with the killing and another attempted murder case.

Speaking to newsmen, Olasoji confessed to how he killed Fagbemi with a stick and wiped her blood with a handkerchief for ritual purposes.

Bobrisky denies making mockery of women’s struggles

Bobrisky has reacted after an activist accused him of making a mockery of women's struggles when he shared a video of himself with a fake baby bump and claimed to be pregnant.

Marvis Ishanqueen said Bobrisky dresses like a woman and pretends to be one to make money off it, yet he slutshames women and benefits from patriarchy and male privileges (read here). She went ahead to explain in details how Bobrisky's behaviour makes a mockery of women's struggles.

Bobrisky reacted by stating that the video was "harmless" to crack people up. He asked Marvis how many women's lives she has impacted and added that he who "borrowed the gender" has done more for women.

Shola Ogudu, the first baby mama of Nigeria's Starboy, Wizkid has taken to social media to celebrate "Baba Tife" as she reveals she graduated on his birthday.

Ned Nwoko files N2billion lawsuit against Journalist who labelled him a cultist for marrying virgins

Prince Ned Nwoko has sued online publisher, Azuka Jebose Molokwu for N2billion for defamation of character.

This is contained in the summon obtained from Effurun High Court, Delta State on behalf of Nwoko by his counsel, Ikhide Ehighelua and Co dated July 13, 2020.

Also joined in the suit No. EHC 99 as the second defendant is Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko identified as the employer and sponsor of the first defendant, Jebose, a native of Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, resident in the United States of America.

According to the suit, both defendants made highly defamatory publications in several online blogs and other social media platforms "calculated to reduce the estimation of the claimant" and damage his reputation in the public.

It stated that the malicious publications had continued unabated against the plaintiff in spite of warnings by his solicitors to the defendants.

Counsel to Nwoko also stated that the first defendant defiantly came out openly on the social media that the cautions would not be a deterrent to his defamatory publications, prompting the legal action.

The claimant had also sought in his favour, before the court a "public apology to be published by the defendants in at least two national daily newspapers circulating in Nigeria and social media platforms" as well as an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendants from making any further defamatory publications against him.

Here is how Tamar Braxton’s Nigerian boyfriend found her unresponsive in her hotel room

Tamar Braxton was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles after she was found unresponsive in her hotel room on Thursday, July 16.

According to The Blast, the 43-year-old reality star was staying with her Nigerian boyfriend David Adefeso at the Ritz Carlton in downtown LA when he found her 'unresponsive'.

The publication said her boyfriend called 911 to report his girlfriend had been drinking before she took an unknown amount of prescription pills following a possible suicide attempt.

The site adds: 'Ambulances then arrived at the hotel and took her to the hospital. Sources have claimed that David believes that it was possible suicide attempt.'


LAPD confirmed to The Blast that they received a call around 9:45 P.M. in regard to a 43-year-old female who had a medical emergency listed as a "possible overdose." Officers are following the woman to the hospital for further investigation.

Tamar's condition is unclear at the moment, but The Blast claims that Tamar has been extremely emotional due to an ongoing contract dispute with We TV.

A spokesperson for Tamar said: 'Tamar has had a very tough and emotional day — more information will be coming in the next few days. Please pray for her.'

Her YouTube show with her boyfriend, Coupled & Quarantined ad had been scheduled to air on Thursday night. But a message read: 'Hello Ya'll Unfortunately, Your girl Tamar is under the weather today and not feeling well so we need to postpone today's show (Don't worry it's not COVID).

'We're sad because we had a great show lined up for you today, but next week's show is going to be even bigger and better.

'So sorry for the inconvenience, we know many of you look forward to the show every week. we'll make it up to you next week.'

Argument ensues as Oyedepo says prosperity is impossible without tithing

David Oyedepo took to Twitter to state that anyone who doesn't pay tithe is "under a financial curse" and can never prosper and this has led to an argument.

Reno Omokri – Using your tithe to buy alcohol is not a sin

Nigerian author and lawyer, Reno Omokri has taken to Twitter to state that people who drink alcohol are not committing sin against God.

The popular writer also noted that it is scriptural for an individual to buy alcohol with his/her tithe.

Going further, the writer maintained that even in heaven, they drink wine, so it is unscriptural for anyone to preach against alchohol.

Family reveals cause of Youtube Star, Nicole’s death

The family of pregnant Youtube star, Nicole Thea has revealed likely cause of her death before her due date.

Recall that the 24-year-old dancer and YouTube star was weeks away from her giving birth to her son when she died unexpectedly on July 11.

Thea's Uncle, Charles Murray told Mail Online that the likely cause of her death was a suspected heart attack.

He said: "We think she had a massive heart attack. It first happened in her house, and she was telling her partner that she had pains in her chest and her back.

"Nicole said she was struggling to breathe and had a pain in her chest."

He described her death as a shock which has shaken the family as she was so young.

Murray added that Nicole before her death has no underlying health problems and maintained a healthy lifestyle.

"It is terrible. But we won't know for sure until we have the post-mortem."

Megan Thee Stallion – I suffered gunshot wound, was not arrested

Award-winning American rapper, Megan Thee Stallion has cleared the air on her alleged arrest which landed her in a hospital on Sunday morning

Reports had it that Tory Lanez was arrested by the police following a fight that broke out at a house party in Hollywood Hills on Sunday, July 12.

Megan and her best friend Kelsey Nicole were in the car with Tory Lanez when the Canadian rapper was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon in his vehicle.

Megan was said to have suffered an injury during the incident and was hospitalized.

However, Megan on her Instagram page explained that she actually 'suffered gunshot wounds' as a result of the crime and underwent surgery at the hospital to remove the bullets.

Her post read: "The narrative being reported about the events on Sunday morning are inaccurate and I would like to set the record straight.

"On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me."

Megan, however, said unlike reports she was not arrested as she was the victim of the crime.

"I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.


"I'm incredibly grateful to be alive and that I'm expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night."

The 'Savage' crooner said she is currently focused on recovery and hopeful to return to making music as soon as possible.

"This whole experience was an eye opener and a blessing in disguise. I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy," she added.
