Billionaire Son among BBNaija Housemate, Kiddwaya Becomes A Topic!

A son of a Nigerian billionaire is currently among the twenty selected housemates contesting for the Big Brother Naija Season 5 grand prize.

The said billionaire's son made it to Big Brother Naija Season 5 which was launched on July 19.

According to viral reports, Kiddwaya whose original name is Terseer Waya is a self-employed 27-year-old from Benue State and son of elite billionaire business mogul, Terry Waya.

Kiddwaya is also a fitness expert, hence the muscular body and great looks.

A quick visit to his official Instagram page revealed that he is not only good-looking but puts in a lot of work to keep his body fit.

Kiddwaya who says he won't compromise on 'bringing back the fun into the House', is anticipating a better and crazier 2020 being in the BBNaija house.

#BBNaija2020: Vee Says “I Don’t Like Android Phones Touching My Hand, I’m An IPhone Person”

Big brother Naija housemate, Victoria Adeyele, popularly known as Vee, has revealed her choice of phones.

The 23 Lagos-based musician who was born and raised in London, said that she is an iPhone person and hates Android phones touching her hand.

She made this known during the question and answer session where they told each other about themselves and then answered questions thrown at them

Android or iPhone? her fellow housemates asked, she replied; "I don't even like Androids touching my hand, I'm an iPhone person."

One of the most popular Big Brother Naija Season 5 housemates, Dorathy has professed undying love for Nigerian producer, singer, songwriter and record producer, Don Jazzy.

The heavily gifted housemate made this known while narrating her life story to her fellow housemates.

She was not the only one who mentioned their favourite Nigerian celebrities but hers is somewhat reciprocal and coincidental owing to the fact that Don Jazzy had earlier declared his support for her.

"I am not a man of breast, I just love her vibes", Don Jazzy had tweeted.

Dorathy has now revealed that Don Jazzy is her favourite Nigerian male celebrity.

Saying Jazzy is her favourite celebrity is no big deal but the mannerism with which she said it.

"I love Donjazzy" she had  said while naming him as his favourite Nigerian male celebrity.

Now that the singer has already said he's not a fan of breast, how reciprocal and how far would their admiration for each other go?

#BBNaija2020: Nollywood Actor, Kenneth Okolie allegedly behind the new big brother voice

The much-anticipated 5th season of reality TV show, Big Brother Naija kicked off on July 19th, and fans of the show immediately noticed the change in the voice of Big Brother.

Recall that in 2017, it was discovered that the voice behind the 'See Gobbe' edition was Ejike Ibedilo.

Then, in 2018's Double Wahala season and 2019's Pepper Dem season, it was also discovered that the Big Brother's voice was Andre Blaze, a Nigerian radio personality, rapper, television host and executive producer.

For the ongoing 2020 Lockdown, since the show started 2 days ago, there has been debates on who owns the new voice of 'Biggie', and the only name on people's mouth is actor and model, Kenneth Okolie.

Even singer Praiz shared the same sentiment. "Biggie's voice sounds like that of Kenneth Okolie. #BBNajia" Praiz tweeted.

Today, the housemates took turns to share their life stories and the get-to-know-you exercise took an emotional turn after Ka3na gave a recount of her life's story.

The single mother of one revealed how she came across the BBNaija audition call on social media and decided to try.


Ka3na said she didn't care much about the guidelines of the show as she was so engrossed with the thought of getting on a platform that lets her share her story.

Big Brother Naija housemate, Neo has revealed how he lived in prison with his mum while growing up, and how her strength shaped his life.

The Delta State-born housemate, who comes from a family of several lawyers said his Mum was a prison warden.

Speaking to housemates during their 'get to know session, Neo said his Mum's strength shaped him in many ways because she was a single parent and gave birth to him in a car.

He said, "I love my mum so much, her strength makes me respect women a lot.

"I am from a polygamous home and a family of several lawyers. We are over 20 children. My father is a SAN but was separated from his mum when I was born.

"I was born in a car. My mum was a prison warden & I had to sleep in the prison while growing up.

TikTok vs Triller: Who’s winning in Nigeria?

TikTok is a video-sharing app owned by ByteDance, the most valuable start-up in the world. It also owns Resso, a streaming app that's available in India and Indonesia.

As at now, both are still in early days with less that a million users across the country - per findings they still have less than a million users in Nigeria, but they are rising fast.

It was the most downloaded app of 2019 and now has two billion downloads, on its way to becoming the most downloaded app of 2020. It was created when ByteDance bought musical.ly in 2017.

Triller was released in 2015 as an AI-powered video app where users can create and share professional-looking videos in seconds with ready-made assistance via tools and ease of editing. It is also addictively fun. It's all about loving music and connecting with like-minded people.

Since lockdown measures were instituted due to the novel coronavirus, Triller and its rival, TikTok have seen a major rise in popularity among Nigerian youth and celebrities.

TikTok has seen two billion app downloads. Triller had about 26 million users in December 2019. Speculation is that it has since grown to about 50 million users due to the lockdown.

Who's winning?
Triller looked to be winning around first-half 2019, but TikTok has since taken over everywhere with more aggressive marketing, AI and the evolution of its UI, tools and features. In March 2020, it reported a 12% increase in its user base - about 28.5 million people.

Triller is kind of limited, but that's because it reportedly has its sights set on impacting the music industry directly and that's why streams count from Triller directly to Apple Music.

Triller is cool, but the presence of TikTok and the western validation it has, Triller doesn't have it. That western validation is as a result of a rumoured $1 billion marketing budget that it has. Triller is just trying to grow organically and it's easier to use because its AI is so smooth.

How impactful have they been?
Trends. TikTok pioneers trends in Nigerian entertainment and continues to amplify Nigerian creatives with #Hashtags. Recently, Pulse Nigeria released a list of the most popular songs online TikTok and the numbers were astounding.


Triller has great numbers too, but there is a difference. One advantage is that it has a payment plan directly for artists and creatives. TikTok is only about amplification for now, but there are ways to monetize if someone manages you.

How can they better appeal to the scape in Nigeria? TikTok just needs to continue doing what it's doing - it has the popularity and the financial muscle. It will also pay creatives - when it gets popular in Nigeria, it should also look to paying creatives

Triller isn't as big, but TikTok is facing problems stemming from tensions across the world. India has banned it, Apple has threatened it and the US is threatening the same. Triller is already No. 1 in video-sharing app in India as a result, so interesting things might happen.

Triller just needs to find a unique way to affect the Nigerian entertainment scape better with unique offerings. I suggest by helping creatives shoot more tangible viral videos without spending much - maybe from paid tools. That could really propel the app.

To be honest, the battle is still wide open because it's still early days, but TikTok is winning and it knows it. But with Triller's numbers, it shows that they could really pull things off. What TikTok just has is popularity that has really permeated social media. But recently, Burna Boy opened a Triller account - a strategic move.

It will be interesting.

The latest in the list of titles is the upcoming 'The Resident' produced and directed by James Omokwe. Efa Iwara, Jimmy Odukoya, Bisola Aiyeola, Nengi Adoki, Ebenezer Eno, and Lasisi Elenu are some of the cast featured in the teaser.

While its makers remain tight-lipped about the movie, the teaser spots a plot which will explore horrifying experiences from a haunted house.

Davido and Burna Boy feature on Pop Smoke's posthumous album, 'Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon'

On June 8, 2020, Pulse Nigeria reported that a Twitter account called @MusicRature posted that Burna Boy and Davido were set to feature on Pop Smoke's posthumous album. It also posted that Burna Boy would feature on a song titled, 'Drink Freely.'

On February 19, 2020, Pulse Nigeria reported that Pop Smoke was shot and killed during what looked like a robbery in his Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles home.

While Burna Boy and Davido didn't appear on the original Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon, a deluxe version of the album was released earlier today, July 20, 2020. The album Davido on a song titled, 'Tsunami' while Burna Boy features on 'Enjoy Yourself (Remix).'



A few weeks ago, the deluxe album also caused a rift between Pusha T and Atlanta rapper, Young Thug after Pusha T appeared to take shots at Drake on a song that also features Young Thug and Gunna. Pusha T consequently asked his manager, Steven Victor to remove his verse from the album.

Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, James Brown has levied a great accusation against the organisers of trending tv reality show, Big Brother Nigeria. According to him, the show discriminates against his people.

According to the Instagram sensation, the organizers do not accept people of his kind. His post reads ;

In January, James Brown made his intention of auditioning for Big Brother Naija season 5 known to reality star and actress, Venita Akpofure.

Big Brother Naija 2020 housemate, Rebecca "Nengi" Hampson, referred to simply as "Nengi" has shared with other housemates on the show, a bit of her life story. Nengi revealed how she came from a poor background, and how her mom suffered to keep the family going following her dad's death.

According to 22-year-old former MBGN finalist, she lost her dad at the tender age of 2 and her mother just two years ago, adding that life wasn't quite easy for her as her mother had to play the role of both parents to take care of her and her sister.

Nengi revealed that although her mother wasn't educated, she felt it important to give her children the best education by putting them in a good school.

She added that she moved to Bayelsa state, where her aunt's house is after her mother died of kidney diseases. Life became unbearable as an orphan but with God, she pulled through by winning a pageantry contest and used the money to further her education.

She further stated that whatever she has been through has been God. "God has always been there for me, It's just been me and God. People think I am from a rich family, they don't know my struggle".

She also recounted how she had to trek a long distance to school everyday.

Praise told Ebuka said he is single but new revelations on social media suggests that he is engaged or better yet, married with a child.

Big Brother Naija 'Lockdown' housemate, Vee has revealed why she is not a graduate. The 23-year-old lady who grew up in London made this known during a conversation with housemates.

Vee said she chose music over attending the university because tuition is expensive in London. She added that she did not want to dislike her course if she studied any.

Vee said, "I told my parents I don't want to go to university. I said I will not attend a University, but I will have a career in music.

"I didn't want to spend as much as 9000 euros and not like what I studied. It was a difficult decision because I am the first born."
